I went out with a Miniso face mask at 12:30 on a 407. Went to Lansdowne T and T with my Asian old lady shopping cart to see if I could get a box of 50 face masks for $31. After lining up for 20 minutes because the line snaked around the market area of Lansdowne Mall, I FINALLY got inside with a temperature scanner check (which was fine) and managed to get a box from Customer Service. Since I was there anyway, I checked out the noodle aisle. I got Samyang Buldak Topokki noodles x2 and NEW Samyang Buldak Corn noodles x2 / Samyang Buldak Kimchi chicken terrorist noodles x2. My cart was already plenty full and bulky by the time I left at 1, but I decided to walk to Price Smart anyway, where the lineup moves MUCH FASTER! I got Fanny Bay oysters (May 5), Snack Pack vanilla pudding (May 22), plus NEW Snack Pack DRAGON TREASURE and UNICORN MAGIC puddings. Decided to get a NEW on-sale Aero Gold chocolate bar, a NEW on-sale Kit-Kat Gold chocolate bar, NEW Crave microwaveable meals (Bacon and Egg Scramble with Cheddar Cheese, and Chorizo Egg Scramble with Goat Cheese), and NEW limited-edition Tiramisu Oreos.

After that, I went home at 2:45 on a 407 to rest for a bit before going to London Drugs at 6:30. Planters BBQ peanuts (May 16), Pure Standards Products hydrogen peroxide, Arm and Hammer baking soda, on-sale organic Classico tomato garlic pasta sauce for the same $4 price as regular (sale ends May 27), a small Reese's Pieces (May 18), NEW Orange Vanilla Coke (May 8), NEW LaRose hand sanitizer for the same $4 price as regular, Tao Kae Noi wasabi seaweed snacks, Fudge Swirl Lindt truffles for tomorrow (May 2), and Aroy-D green curry for my Uncle Ben's jasmine rice. Got home at 7:25, which is fine by me.

Mamee chicken noodles with corn, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and green peas for lunch!

Planning ahead, oh my! )
glowing_dragon: (Default)
I went to Price Smart at 6, where there was zero enforcement of a lineup. I was in and out in ten minutes or so, which is a record these days with the coronavirus pandemic! I got NEW Old Dutch Foods Canada Spicy Salt and Vinegar chips, NEW Saniderm 70% hand sanitizer in a 236 mL bottle for $9, NEW Stouffer’s Cheddar Potato Bake, Smart Ones Pot Roast, NEW Hungry-Man XL Bowls / Pies x4 (Chicken Pot Pie / Buffalo-Style Chicken Macaroni and Cheese / Country-Fried Chicken Croquettes Bowl / Spicy Chicken Queso Burrito), Hungry-Man Turkey, and Hungry-Man Beer-Battered Chicken before coming home at 6:55, just in time for the 7 PM cheer! Saw a bunch of people outside, and I told some kids "Nice poster!" and gave them a thumbs-up.

How Much Toilet Paper? The Toilet Paper Calculator For Quarantine / Isolation!

We were so bored in Ceriam's Discord server that we were sharing photos of our computer / tech setups. Stallings said that my handwriting on the latest version of my shopping list was pretty, so I thanked him for the compliment.

Andrew came over at 5:15 today, after sleeping in. Hey, no worries, I told him. He didn't want to bother with the whole parking pass rigmarole, which I admit IS annoying. We discussed my eye surgery last year, Merritt, family updates, Search Everything, Chrome, my computer settings, computer drivers, pooping 187 times a day to use up a LOT of toilet paper, his wanting to know the programs so he can determine what's going on (which I understand), and fixing the tangled phone cord. He was over for about an hour, and left at 6:45 or so, not finding anything inherently wrong which would cause the computer to freeze! All temperatures are in very normal ranges since I'm underutilizing the computer's power. Nope, this is not a heavy-duty gaming rig!

He cut me a break on his fee (as Mike said) when I asked what the damage was, since he didn't really do too much: $20 cash sounds much better than $40, even during these times! I thought he would say that his kid stayed at his place so long that the pandemic happened during a week's extension, but it turned out to be much worse! We talked about lining up to shop at Superstore and other places now, and raising his rates six months ago - I know that a full tank of gas plus three jerry cans in the States is value! Or it was, but now we can't just go down there for cheap gas.

He did notice that the computer mouse stopped momentarily whenever the computer made a musical noise, but that wouldn't cause things to freeze... of course, the computer WOULD freeze shortly AFTER he left. It's not like I could have reproduced the issue on demand! At his request / upon his request, I did record a rather choppy phone video of me flipping off the power switch at the back and then turning on the power button again. Sigh. I did update Eric as well via text while noticing some weird font issues on my computer, possibly related to Andrew deleting WonderShare and some other programs. Yes, Andrew is still anti-Windows 10. Still, he has to keep current...

After COFFEE TIME / SHOWER TIME / CLEANING FRIDGE TIME (yucky sticky prune juice!), I went out at 1:30 on a 401 to finally redeem that Pure Nail Bar gift card from Christmas 2019 for a pedicure before going to help with the kids. I thought I'd be on time, but NO... the 3 bus had to be late, a stroller had no idea what to do on the bus, and then there were traffic delays, causing me to be 10 minutes late! At least they didn't have to call me or anything, and it was just after East 13th! It was pretty relaxing, and I got to choose a nail polish color - Shooting Star silver glitter! They had a fancy nail dryer and a fancy pink toe separator!

After I was done at 3:45, I texted Jon and asked whether he was at the park, then went to Save-On to kill time. I should have gone to the park instead since it took him 20 minutes to get back to me saying they were home now. Fine, sure, I'll walk there - not a big deal, of course. Beckett wanted "Didibug!" which Jon asked about - it made sense, but what was it? Hiero drew me a Bat Signal and a lightning bolt, saying I could keep them in my pocket. I pointed out that it would probably fall out of my pocket, so I'll keep them in my wallet's zippered pouch instead! When I got home, I put the Bat Signal / lightning bolt / Cao Starvingbase Noodle HOO! guy in a Ziploc bag for extra protection.

Ayler was blocking Beckett's access to the piano because Beckett would try to play it, and wanted to know if the real Dean could stay later to play "quiet soccer" while Jon taught his sister Lily. I told Dean that he must be special to Beckett - every time someone comes over, Beckett thinks it's Dean! HAHAHA! "Dean! Dean! Dean!" When Harmony got home, she mentioned she was late because the pipeline protesters had been blocking UBC today - UGH! Then she saw silverfish in the bathroom, in her clothes! YUCK! I told her about the time that I had seen one CRAWLING ON MY COMPUTER DESK in summer 2017 - EW! Beckett wanted to say hi to Kayla, and of course was interested in her guitar and the rest of the students.

Jon gave me a tea rag to wipe Beckett's nose with. He's learned "NO!" and uses it frequently! I watched him knock over Jon's violin while he was teaching Willie, and Jon said "NO, BECKETT." A kid named Ethan came for a piano lesson, and his mom stayed in the room. Beckett was very interested in her phone! Ethan asked what I was doing there, so I said that was a good question - what did HE think? Jon answered when he didn't have a response. I read the rest of the DOG MAN book to Hiero, who then wanted to draw Dog Man while Dean and Ayler transitioned to quieter origami.

We had pozole with hominy / chips / Greek yogurt / choy for dinner, plus an almond croissant. Beckett wanted to climb up on the couch and needed my help to sit / stand on the white chair. He picked up the word "funny" and the corresponding grin expression. "FUNNY! OPEN! Block! Magnet! Frog!" Of course he got upset when Ayler stole his stuff... I told Hiero that he had just touched the nose-wiping cloth with Beckett's germs ALL OVER it, so Hiero went by himself to wash his hands quickly! Beckett also showed me where my own eyes / nose / mouth / ears were, with the correct words. He wanted to show me his orange half-shell, so he said "shell" - pretty good!

I left at 7:45, amazingly in enough time to catch the 7:55 3 bus that went to the station. However, I wouldn't get home in time for the second period, because there was an electric scooter that took a minute or so to adjust herself in the bus. She didn't deserve a guilt trip or anything, so I was outwardly patient. Then on the Canada Line at Aberdeen, there was an obstreperous guy who wouldn't get off the train until threatened with the cops by the female attendants! Everyone was craning their necks to look - some old man asked if I was going to save him. Fuck, no! I'll watch from safety! I FINALLY got home at 9:10 during the second intermission. The Canucks played the Coyotes tonight at 7:30, and lost 4-2 thanks to an empty-net goal from behind the Arizona net ALL the way to the other end of the ice.

I had to spend MORE time out and MORE MONEY today at Richmond Centre because of ANOTHER temporary water shutoff. *rolleyes* Good thing I had plenty of cash! I bought a White Spot breakfast quesadilla with chorizo sausage, a White Spot blueberry milkshake that slightly tasted like cough syrup (what are they doing with those machines overnight?!), NEW on-sale OGX Beauty tea tree / mint shampoo and conditioner, on-sale Dove pomegranate shampoo and conditioner from $8.99 to $2.99, NEW Life iron pill supplements, NEW Jamieson Vitamins garlic softgels, and NEW Irish Spring charcoal body wash. Shoppers and London Drugs both worked! Got home at 5:40 on a 407 (was NOT going to call Hester because of the one-word and hangup I received LAST YEAR), and the water was back on, so I could take a shower for tomorrow!

After COFFEE TIME, I had to go out to Knightsbridge at 10:45 AM on a 414 to see Rishu at Touchstone at 12 noon, which meant that it took up three hours of my day AGAIN since it was way past Cambie and Jacombs! I had made up my mind to terminate our professional relationship anyway, even before hearing that her practicum session was finishing at the end of February. (which she couldn't even email me about...) During my 20-minute wait for the 405 in the windy weather, I tried helping out an old man by moving my bag on the bus stop bench, but he wasn't having any of it. I also realized that I accidentally wore my red AMOUR shirt from H and M outside in public on Valentine's Day - whoops!

I aired my grievances, including her non-receptiveness to replying to email in a reasonable timeframe. I chose to help Jon out on Wednesdays because there was no way I'd get a response from her in time if she didn't reply on Monday or even Tuesday - Jon's requests were more emergent, and I like spending time with my nephews! I also told her how someone else with REAL anxiety and other issues might feel to be seemingly "ignored," although I know they aren't a crisis line, but she needs to learn as a student. The new location was also a factor; although she SAYS she offered rides and to meet up with me somewhere, I had to say I didn't remember that. I think it ended amicably enough, although of course I cried and then had to fill out the required feedback forms and surveys. She gave me an unexpected gift of a sticky thing to hold a card or two, and I put it on the back of my phone after politely thanking her for that and the good aspects of our sessions and time together.

Once I finally got back into my bubble zone of Richmond, I noticed a bus stop sign saying that the $3 KFC Mega Popcorn box deal was only on until the 16th. Since I wasn't planning on going out before then, I decided to take advantage of it even if more time and energy would be spent. I tried taking a photo of the Shoppers sign saying they were out of hand sanitizer, face masks, and rubbing alcohol... but discovered that my Compass Card in the new sticky thing was blocking the camera! Luckily, I came across some Dairy Queen workers who weren't busy, and the girl unstuck the corner enough for me to figure things out from there. PHEW! I bought the $3 fried chicken and chilled at Richmond Centre for a while. Saw a cute teddy bear offering hugs, so I also took advantage of that. I finally got home at 3:45 on a 407.

Document Destruction Service! Yes, of course I am aware of the need to shred sensitive documents. The name just appealed to my morbid sense of humor.

Before COFFEE TIME / BRUSSELS SPROUTS TIME / HOT CHOCOLATE TIME, I called Chrystal at work at 10:10 AM to remind her about tonight. I left at 6:50 on a 414 (which actually had the wheelchair ramp slope in use instead of the steps) to get to London Drugs on time at 7:30 or so. Unfortunately, someone caused a delay for me at Brighouse. Why would you try to start small talk with someone in an elevator who obviously isn't paying any attention to you for a 20-second ride?! No, I'm not going to respond to a guy cyclist's "hi, how are you, hope you're okay, ma'am" in an ENCLOSED SPACE, especially because YOU AND YOUR BIKE FUCKING MADE ME MISS THE FUCKING TRAIN AND WAIT AN ADDITIONAL 11 MINUTES! The elevator wasn't on the first floor either when I needed it to be! I saw the train pulling into the station when I had JUST gotten to the stairs outside!

Don't get me started on the three tall white dudes who evidently had something like "Well then! What the?" to say to me when I was running for the train at Broadway on the way home! THEY WERE OBSTACLES IN MY PATH so of course I had to BARREL into them, and I didn't even have time to turn and yell FUCK OFF! Or the guy IN the train who was blocking my path right when everyone got off and I wanted in. People, have some spatial awareness and consideration! Too bad they didn't think I had coronavirus! At least Mike found my text message rants entertaining!

I FINALLY got to London Drugs at 7:45, where Chrystal was waiting for me and wandering near the back of the store. We quickly decided on our default option of Pho Extreme Xe Lua, since Cactus Club would DEFINITELY be busy on a Friday night even if we'd bothered to reserve beforehand! (they made us wait for 45 minutes at my birthday dinner even WITH one!) We ordered a small #1 (special noodle soup for Chrystal), six signature butter chicken wings for $9.50 to share (although she only ate one - we split the bill anyway), and a large #30 Bo Bun Hue noodle soup for me. We talked about my trip (I showed her some photos), her nephews Benjamin and Ethan, Ayler / Hiero / Beckett / Fraser / Henry, my relief that Mom wasn't coming on that trip, the flight delays, toys, that gas leak on Chinese New Year, her sushi Chinese New Year dinner with family, Hiero's UBC birthday party and presents, Beckett learning new words, Hiero being sick, and work not being fun today. I got home at 9:35 on a 407, which I guess wasn't terrible for leaving the restaurant at 8:50...

From James: Might be the best selfie of the year, and it's only January! Cats and dogs!

I got a blue dragon as my home icon on Google Maps on my phone! I set my "home," tapped on the menu icon, skipped the commute, and tapped on the three dots which appeared so I could change the home pin!

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND 2020, EVERYONE! NEW YEAR, NEW DECADE!

FINALLY HOME AFTER A FLIGHT! I left the house with Steph after thumping my suitcase up the stairs from the guestroom, hugged the kids, and Steph noticed Havarti was sad because she knows what a suitcase means. We drove 45 minutes to the airport; why WOULD she take a $20 or $30 toll road to save one minute?! I hugged her goodbye, then got selected for a pat-down because I accidentally left my phone in my pocket. UGH! At least a kind employee got me a zoomer to go all the way to my YYZ gate after the elevator! The flight itself was uneventful - I was seated in front with the babies and children, but played with my new friend, the year-old baby boy next to me.

White Eric picked me up as advertised after I landed at 2 today. Wow, time change! Haha. I had to walk the length and breadth of YVR because the outside exit for domestic arrivals was all the way at the front. Sweating for sure! I was home by 3, and everything seemed okay, but THE MICE MANAGED TO CHEW THROUGH THE STEEL WOOL IN THE BATHROOM?! YUCK!

2019 Yearly Recap!

This is the 2019 recap. Fitting for the last day of the year, no?

JANUARY

* Hung out with Vanessa and baby Cassidy pre-surgery at Lansdowne: Fresh Elements bubble tea, good dumplings at the food court, GOLDEN DRAGON SUSHI, and more! She helped me open the ridiculous eyedrops bottles, too! [Jan. 7]

* Had eye cataract surgery at Mount St. Joseph's - yikes! Luckily, I had love and support from my friends, and my parents DID drive me home! [Jan. 10]

* Had a one-day followup appointment at the eye clinic. Thank goodness that Barry was able to drive me! Things looked healthy! [Jan. 11]

* Crashed at Deb and Dylan's for about a week. Declan and Elysse liked me from the start, and it was pretty interesting and funny. ("I have my dad's old phone, Elysse." "Did he die?!" Haha!) Lots of meals and Swiss Chalet plus lamb and ribs and packed lunches! I appreciated their support, for sure! [Jan. 11-16]

* Had my one-week followup appointment at the eye clinic. My eye still looked healthy and there is no need to rush on any new glasses! I got hit up for cash at Vancouver City Centre, but I said NO. He should have fucked off instead! [Jan. 17]

* Had Hiero's birthday party: glow-in-the-dark bowling at Grandview Lanes! Dylan and Deb kindly gave me a ride back, and Mom did NOT have to insert herself into our post-church plans by thanking them for "looking after" me! [Jan. 20]

FEBRUARY

* Got a chance to three-way call with Kate and Pothead Mike right after the hockey game, which the Canucks won 4-3 in a shootout against the Flames! It was pretty good to hear their voices as we chatted about a bunch of things including Ed Kemper and the RCMP tank in Surrey. [Feb. 9]

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND 2019, EVERYONE! Heard from Jana in CANUCK NATION that racist Stuart has three kinds of cancer (liver / colon / something else) and is currently in Langley hospice - karma works in good ways! I went shopping, having to walk to London Drugs because the endless construction and sewer upgrades have made the nearby bus stops non-operational. I went out at 12:30 for shopping purposes at London Drugs, so I walked there. Barry called to see if I was fine with changing our food shopping appointment on the 22nd to 11:30 instead of 11. I went out at 3:10 on a 407 (which luckily picked me up at the sidewalk) for shopping purposes.

I went out at 2 on a 401 to get Rubbermaid Take-Along containers and on-sale pads x2 at London Drugs, getting home at 2:20 on a 407. After my intake session with Rishu at Touchstone at 3 (leaving at 2:20 on a 401), I went shopping at the Dollar Tree / London Drugs / Big Crazy after killing time at the Richmond Public Market beforehand. Today's date is a palindrome: 9/1/19! Beckett crawled over to me to say hi - CUTE! AMERICAN GREETINGS STICKERS, HOT CHOCOLATE, CANDY, SCISSORS, and TEA! The Canucks played Edmonton tonight at 7 in their first game of the 2019-2020 NHL season, and lost 3-2. Chinese Eric texted me yesterday afternoon wanting to come over today at 4 after lunch and errands, so I resigned myself to a lot of talking and said yes, getting the parking pass ready. I did have to give him the strawberry / original / mango / banana / peach / melon / apple Milkis cans, after all, and could also use him to pick up a carton of almond milk that I forgot last week at the store. He came by at 4 after COFFEE TIME and SHOWER TIME, wanting to watch the Leafs game, but also picked up a carton of almond-coconut milk from the store instead of the almond milk I wanted, saying that I'd failed to specify. IF I WANTED NASTY COCONUT MILK (WHICH I DON'T), I'D HAVE SAID SO! We did try the Dr. Oetker salted caramel cheesecake, which was okay. Then he said that printing out the Canucks schedule was a waste of paper - he should have seen how much paper I wasted on things which weren't perfect to me! Besides, it works for me when I want to plan stuff during the hockey season - SO THERE!

He left at 5 to exchange the milk at Price Smart... GOOD! By that time, I'd composed the email to him / white Eric / Jeremy (who'd thanked me for my "Happy Birthday" email earlier) / Jon / Christon / Randal about his proposed 12 Kings hangout on October 22 to watch the Raptors championship banner unveiling after we figured out WHY their first preseason game was at 3 AM. (it's in Tokyo...) We had Western Family 8-vegetable lasagna with multigrain pasta for dinner: Carrots / green and red Bell peppers / spinach / zucchini / cauliflower / broccoli / black olives! Also talked about his seeing Corey Hirsch at the art gallery, the Leafs-Senators game (Toronto won 5-3), bottled water, his doing the dishes, live-action remakes of things like ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS and ALADDIN, "you know" all the time (FILLER ANNOYANCE!), McDonalds / Tim Horton's hockey cards, that Grow-A-Husband, my guestbook, the SIMPSONS, Channel 22 highlights, and more. Then he finally left soon after the game ended, at 9:40. Now it's time for video game music to relax!

After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 3:30 on a 401 to help with the kids. It wasn't raining in Richmond, then was very little rain at Marine Drive, but it was like Noah's Ark Flood when I got off at Mount Pleasant! Turns out Beckett was sleeping when I was almost soaked as I got to Jon's place, but that was fine - I finished a book and started another one before he woke up. Jon plopped him on the mat and Beckett just stared at me for a while. Eventually, I gave him a toy and he played with it, doing "catch" for a while until Harmony came home with Hiero and Ayler from swimming. Beckett wanted to climb on me because he liked my San Francisco tie-dye shirt's colors, Ayler told me about his origami and connect-the-dots books (and said he'd test me on the taped crane next week), and Hiero had tantrums and wanted to encourage Beckett to eat random stringy stuff he found on the mat OR to crawl out the balcony window. NO! Hiero also wanted me to read about trains to him, which is fine.

We had stew soup, nectarines, green beans, pasta, and minestrone for dinner. The kids were worried about Hurricane Dorian and wondered whether Los Angeles had hurricanes, then Hiero asked what a sleeping bag was. Harmony said that Mom had sent them five or six emails about "swatch the watch" - I have no idea what that means, but maybe it has something to do with the watch repair place at the Public Market, so I eventually gave her both watches in my wallet just to be safe. We called Dad because Ayler wanted to ask what time he'd be there tomorrow to take him to Brooke's building. Then we also talked about exactly WHY Mom would think I know Spanish... not like I've retained it!

Later, Beckett chewed on my pants and was going to go for my socks, but I stopped that. He made himself laugh by pressing a lot of buttons on a light-up toy which had stars on it, and another one which had noisy letter and animal buttons on it. After trying the baby pop-up toy and laughing, he looked at me and clapped for himself, so of course I smiled and clapped along - cute! Ayler wanted to see if he was taller than I am, and I asked whether he would help me with stuff once he was taller - he said yes, so that's good. Beckett babbled and wanted to grab a Classic Munsch book, so he had fun flipping pages. He also liked when I put him in my lap to "read" a 100 Words book, but was upset when I took him away from the window. Then he invaded the bathroom again when Ayler was taking a shower - I said that I didn't see anything, and closed the door with Beckett in my other arm. Ayler told me that he wasn't strong enough to hold him, but I did appreciate that he kept the baby from crawling out the window.

Some people are such dipshits to the bus driver! Tonight, some people told the driver to shut the fuck up and that he needed more training because he didn't magically stop at 43rd and Main. Then there was the idiot with a huge bag full of pop cans who played the bus equivalent of Ding Dong Ditch. He made like he was going to get off at a few stops (thereby wasting everyone's time), actually got off at one and THEN somehow beat the bus to the next stop, then was going to get off at the stop two stops from Marine Drive... then argued with the bus driver who wondered if he was going to get off the bus, saying "Did I get off the bus or just touch the door?" I swear, this guy made me miss the Brighouse train by two minutes, and it didn't help that the next train stopped for another two minutes for no reason in the middle of the track near Aberdeen, so that made me miss the 9:26 407. I finally got home at 10. SIGH.

Discovered that the front door lock is stuck and recalcitrant again before Eric M. gave me a ride at 6:50 to Los Cuervos Taqueria around Kingsway and Fraser, so I wondered how long it would take me to get in later on. I had Jeremy's 101 THINGS TO DO WITH BEER cookbook and birthday card, one bag of Indomie Goreng Chitato chips for Nathan's dad since Chi-Tat To is very similar, Chinese Eric's birthday card / Indomie Goreng Chitato chips x4 / iChoc Almond Orange, Classic, Super Nut, and White Chocolate Vanilla bars, and white Eric's Western Family Swiss 72% dark chocolate bar / NEW Heidi Chocolate Intense / Ginger / Himalayan Salt chocolate bars and birthday card. Nathan did not show up, but I offloaded everything to everyone else.

Saw Acer and said hi to Quan and Gino, of course. Then I spontaneously invited Randal to my own birthday dinner. Chinese Eric was confusing as usual and said he just got my "birthday message" - uh, which one? Facebook birthday wish, a text message about a birthday, or something else? I think it's best that we were just friends! He didn't really explain it well at all. I got a bison skirt steak taco after seeing multiple people mention steak before I left, and then a ceviche tostada when that wasn't quite enough food. First time trying ceviche, so that was quirky for sure! Jon asked if I could switch days this week - I told him that he should ask Harmony first before making executive decisions like that, and he said that it did come from her. Okay then, I can switch from Tuesday to Monday this week. I made sure my blog drafts were tagged correctly and everything as soon as I got home so I didn't forget.

Jeremy and I talked about dragons and interesting topics like Greyhound not being there anymore for his Kelowna trips, and he said he could use that beer cookbook. After paying for the food, we all left at about the same time. I stopped at the door because I knew there was a step going down, and Chinese Eric wondered about that. Well, you don't want me to find out where the step is by faceplanting... he agreed, but thought I'd had eye surgery for a reason. Yes, but that doesn't mean my declining night vision has improved!

While Jon and Randal were trying to figure out whether they should go to 12 Kings, it started raining. I told them to arrive at a decision even if I'd be going home with white Eric either way since he has to get up at 7 AM tomorrow. (for some reason, Eric found it necessary to hang around while they made said decision...) We walked to Eric's car and said the necessary farewells. Once I got home at 10, I was actually able to get in fairly quickly... phew! Then I discovered that Mom apparently thinks I still know Spanish because she wanted me to translate a long document for her. Nope, I've forgotten virtually all my Spanish 9! I just told her "nope, don't know Spanish." I just wanted to relax when I got home! Jon suggested Google Translate instead.

After I had DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, the handyman came by at 11:30 to install the brand-new toilet float valve - YES! I don't care if it takes 90 seconds to fully refill the toilet (tank) now, because at least it works! Better than Hester lecturing me about "flush the toilet tenderly and not with a boom boom boom"... whatever THAT means!

Barry picked me up at 12 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got All-Dressed / Salt and Vinegar / BBQ / Ranch Crispers, on-sale Silk almond milk / chocolate milk, JOY dumplings x5, Dare Foods Limited chocolate cookie chips, on-sale Cottonelle toilet paper x2, Campbell's mushroom soup x5, NEW Miss Vickie's Signatures chips (Hickory Smoked Salt), on-sale Stouffer's microwaveable meals x2 (Chicken Alfredo / Homestyle Pot Roast), and on-sale Western Family frozen vegetables.

Also bought an on-sale Gizella Pastry assorted cheesecake (mango / New York / strawberry / blueberry), Western Family dill pickle chips, Western Family ripple chips, mini Chantilly Choux cream puffs (POPPIES!), NEW Activia strawberry / vanilla / peach yogurts, and NEW on-sale Ben and Jerry's Salted Caramel Almond ice cream. After that, I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online when I got home at 1:15. EARLY! I also managed to go to the dumpster and throw out the light Sunbeam toaster oven which I haven't used for the year I've had it, AND was taking up counter space in the kitchen. Suck on THAT, Hester! :P

Then I went to London Drugs at 7:05 on a 401 to get NEW on-sale Hazelnut M and Ms, on-sale Almond M and Ms, a green tea Kit Kat, NEW Cadbury Curly Wurly chocolate, on-sale Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream, and 400 Mead index cards before returning home on the same 401 at 7:25. The bus driver said that I'd been fast - yes, I like bus efficiency AND ice cream not melting when it's humid outside! When I got in, my phone "ding=donged" at me - turned out to be Corey on LINE. I can live with that, haha!

Got home at 1:30 on a 407 when it had started raining, which is fine by me.

After COFFEE TIME / SHOWER TIME / LAUNDRY TIME, Eric picked me up at 6:10 so we could go to Lion's Den plus Bells and Whistles for Randal's birthday thing. Thank goodness for texting! I wore my Spirit of Nature "Canada D'Eh!" moose T-shirt in honor of Canada Day long weekend, of course. Kevin, Eric Ho, Eric M., Jeremy, Randal, and I discussed chimerism in humans, jerk chicken, curry goat, ginger beer, Jamaican patties, working security at the NHL Draft in Vancouver recently, Kaapo Kakko, Jim Benning and the number 6 (NOT 666), my NOT wanting Eric to put his styrofoam (teriyaki chicken) leftovers box in my tote bag without a plastic bag because it would spill all over, Christon and Alice coming really late to Bells and Whistles, my "famous" handwritten birthday card for Randal, Grace hot sauce, the Scoville scale, and the world's youngest mother.

It took 15 minutes for us to get the bill and pay because Kevin wanted our bills to have an additional amount for Randal's stuff. I didn't mind paying part of Randal's bill, but can't we do that among ourselves without wasting time? I don't mind the owner talking to someone in a wheelchair, but that was before she took our request for the bill. We did meet the owner and heard her story, just like that time we were there years ago. I knew the immediate area looked vaguely familiar!

Later, we ordered various beers (Kevin had a Pilsner while I had a Vancouver Special West Coast IPA) and Jon showed up to order garlic fries at Bells and Whistles. I was on my phone (Jon asked how I liked it after I gave him some used printer paper for Hiero's origami creations), but paid attention to CANADIAN BACON while texting Pothead Mike about stuff on Google Hangouts. Eric and I left after Kevin and Jeremy did - discussed chicken and waffles, anime, DARK SOULS, SHINING FORCE, the Nintendo Switch, and cleaning up after Christon's wedding at Kirin. Hopefully, it won't be like the time Mike wanted to help out at Tony and Trish's wedding after an already long day! Got home at 10:30 and discussed the questionable smell outside - at least it didn't smell like shit like on Thursday evening!

THE 2019-2020 NHL SCHEDULE IS OUT TODAY! I came across a problem with my HP Laserjet 1020 printer today while printing out the Canucks schedule and generating more "origami paper" for Hiero. It said there was a paper jam, but it had been printing things out just fine a few seconds beforehand! After Googling it and attempting to fix it myself via a Youtube video, I texted white Eric about the issue after a phone call got no answer. (which is totally fine)

Left my phone on and he called me at 7:05 to figure out the problem more in depth, so I showered immediately afterwards. He came by at 7:40 to figure out the bigass cartridge, and show me what to do. Turns out I have to tilt the mustache on it at a certain downwards angle, which I attempted myself. He left five minutes later - then Jon emailed a bunch of us about Randal's upcoming birthday: Lion's Den at Fraser and Kingsway, then maybe 12 Kings or Bells and Whistles (17th and Kingsway) for drinks afterwards. Randal wants me there? Okay, then... nice!

Bacon, omelets, sausages, coffee, ketchup, English muffins, and sriracha sauce for a brunch before we made it to Steveston so Dylan could bike around and the kids could play in the park. I found a library book at Steveston which is so me! MOONBEAMS, DUMPLINGS, AND DRAGON BOATS! Later, we had Popsicles and chips while watching BROOKLYN. Yes, Deb fast-forwarded through the sex scene because the kids were downstairs, too. I showered while everyone was out at a little friend Theo's birthday party. PRIVACY!

Paulo and I were trying to figure out where everyone else wanted to meet, so eventually I said "fuck it - let's meet somewhere nearby." The hospital Starbucks it was! We just managed to get the 407 at Alderbridge after ascertaining that everyone now wanted to meet at House of Dosas on Kingsway; like we were saying, we don't care if people want to do something later, JUST PICK A LOCATION TO MEET! After Paulo went on ahead at Brighouse (the elevator took a while), I got on the next train and checked my text messages. We figured out what had happened and set up King Edward as a meeting place. He did apologize ("my bad") and explained, so of course I accepted that.

We finally made it to the House of Dosas at about 6:20 and met Holly, Brian, and Darryl. I had a lamb vindaloo dosa while Paulo added a buttermilk lassi to his dinner; when we heard that he hadn't eaten all day, I said that he should have walked over to my place for some instant noodles! No, that wasn't a joke! I did PM him my address when I got home just in case. We talked about cricket, virginity, porn stars, Halloween, Good Friday / Easter, Direct Tap, a new job, a casual stress-free work culture, and maybe doing something later. It was a good time, and I did like my spicy lamb vindaloo dosa!

Later, Brian drove us to the Dark Manor on Fraser Street. It was so fucking dark in there that I couldn't see a damn thing. Luckily, I waited near the washrooms and Holly actually came out. Brian tapped a bar stool, so at least I knew where that was. There was a Zombie drink where you could only order two of them (Brian thought that was a gimmick), there was a communal huge bowl of alcohol with LONG drinking straws (SHARE OUR BACKWASH!), we needed candlelight to read the menu, and we watched Paulo and Darryl get progressively more wasted on the one Zombie drink. I did have some of Brian's beer when he offered. After that, I wasn't in the mood to drink more, so when Brian asked if I wanted to, I said no. He ended us dropping us all off at home, by the car, or near Marine Drive Station. Talked about zero-waste, weekend plans, seeing family, Jeremy being so wasted that he couldn't get home himself (and then having to pay a fine and get his car back from a towing place the next day), Garden and Nanaimo (near the old VCEFC!), and hanging out again tomorrow at the music bingo. (I declined) I got in at 8:40.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE! HAPPY 2019!

I had to transit to King Edward Station to meet Dad there, so I left at 3:50, but had to walk back home because I realized I didn't have my bus pass. Turns out it was in the bathroom by the toilet because it fell out of my pocket! I then got to the station at 4:40, where Dad was already, but whatever. When I got to Jon and Harmony's, it was quiet hours because the baby was sleeping, but we talked to Steph on WhatsApp anyway. Mike and Sandy had been partying past midnight, haha! Ayler was practicing his handwriting and letters, while Hiero was busy punching some snow angels from a special hole punch.

We had ham, vegetables, chocolate cookies, my Loaded Potato Skins Ruffles chips, beer, and potatoes for dinner - they even invited Jeremy, and it was good to see him! He, Jon, and I talked about Origami Joe W. picking fights on Facebook (Jon says he did it on Karen's status about Conservatives to the point where Nancy had to step in to tell him to calm down!), the Reddit post about the rat in the soup at Crab Park Chowdery, Christmas / New Year's (r/wtf and r/vancouver and r/frugaljerk), and Twelve Kings pub with Eric Ho. I got to read about trains to Hiero, talk to Ayler for a bit, then play with baby Beckett, who tried eating his sock / my finger / his indestructible baby book.

Baby Beckett turned over to pick a toy up, which earned him praise from me! I also held him briefly before Dad took him from me. At least they drove me home, but ALSO gave me literal garbage to take to my place! I'm VERY sure the snack wrapper would have survived 45 minutes more in the centre console... never mind the FOUR POUNDS of Rockets, Carnaby tub of Halloween candy (another pound), and random white bra they gave me!

After COFFEE TIME, I perforce met Mom and Dad at Wireless Wave at 4 to meet Walter W. and spend money. I did get some Loaded Potato Skins Ruffles chips at Shoppers for New Year's beforehand! Ended up getting a cellphone, paired Bluetooth headphones, and more stuff. Mom talked AT me, which is normal, but even invited Walter to dinner at Neptune. Maybe to set us up, who knows? Luckily, he said NO since he had family commitments. Thank goodness they drove me home at 7:10, saying that Henry is now allergic to eggs and Lisa is going to Saskatchewan Depot for training from mid-January to mid-May. I confirmed this with Steph later, of course. Mom HAD to use my washroom - fine, whatever. She wondered about the security guard - yeah, that's normal now.

I went to the pharmacy next door at 1:30 to refill my prescription, showered, and did laundry today. Then I went to H and M to see if I could get sweatpants. No luck at all, even when I dragged an associate across the store! At least now I have the phone number and (mow that I'm home) the proper tag numbers for my preferred style of sweatpants! 604-279-1811 AND 063 658 68! When I got home and organized stuff, I called the store - they don't have that one because it's popular / best-selling, but will have a shipment in very soon, and said I should call in the late afternoon or early evening. Okay, then!

I got on-sale Arm and Hammer 50-load laundry detergent and store brand garbage bags at Shoppers, and on-sale bulk pads x2 (saving $1 per package) at London Drugs (just missing the 407) before hauling the heavy stuff home at 2:50 on a 401, having to get off one stop earlier because of the road closures and construction! After COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 10:15 so we could finally go to Dr. Wise's office downtown for my eyeball ultrasound follow-up: MORE PAPERWORK AND APPOINTMENTS! We discussed my nephews, therapy, serial killers using white vans, Ted Bundy, the Green River Killer, Paul Bernardo, BTK, and more. When I got home at 12:25 (after Barry went into "robot mode" and blamed jet lag from Japan), I chilled for a bit. I'll have to go to Dr. Wise's office again for another follow-up appointment on November 29 because of my dense cataract needing to be measured by the UBC Eye Care Clinic on Willow Street. AIYA!

Then I called Barry about my successful Nov. 15 appointment rescheduling with the UBC Eye Care Centre when I called them about it at 1:40. It'll be at 9:15 AM on November 15 [which means he has to pick me up at 8:30 AM because of rush hour] instead of 3:30 PM on the same day. That works better with his scheduling because the Pathways office closes at 4. At least I had a lot of time to write out my plans on index cards and my Wordpress Drafts, plus message CANUCKS NATION about it without other people wanting my attention RIGHT NOW! If it weren't for that, things might be better in that way, but Jimmy IS a narcissist...

Later, I went to London Drugs on a 401 at 5:55 for replacement Garnier Fructis orange Marula Oil shampoo and conditioner / Ivory original body wash, and a purple replacement LifeCandy shower pouf. I also bought two red $2 Cannon / Grand Patrician MARTEX washcloths, on-sale Brookside Chocolate bars x2 for Jon's birthday in November (Roasted Almond and Sea Salt / Cranberry Almond with Blood Orange Flavor), Waterbridge Connoisseur Premium Liqueur chocolate brandy beans (Christmas stuff on sale at the stores already before Halloween...), bulk Always pads, original Dawn dish detergent, and Purell hand sanitizer x3 before getting home at 6:45 on a 407. After COFFEE TIME, Eric M. picked me up at 5 so we could go to Golden Spring Restaurant (near the old VCEFC church site) for Beckett's baby banquet. Unfortunately, I forgot his birthday Lindt Excellence dark chocolate bars (Madagascar / Pink Peppercorn) and birthday card on the way out the door, despite leaving a note for myself. I guess I'll have to give it to him at the Felico's dinner like he wanted. UGH! At least he can give me a ride to that one! We talked about his first hockey practice today, his first game on Wednesday, there being a good reason why Steph / Lisa / Fraser / Henry weren't here this weekend, Highway 99, Steveston, and more.

We had seafood soup, sweet and sour pork, chicken, fish, yee mein, red bean soup, jellyfish, Chinese cold cuts, seafood soup, tea, and more for dinner - I got to take leftovers home, too! Dad thought he had to remind me to say hi to Mom, Uncle Richard, Auntie Gloria, Pastor Fulton, Auntie Teresa, Auntie May, Uncle Anthony, Uncle Andre and his wife Anna, Uncle Joe, Auntie Wing Yee, Auntie Vivian (who said that she missed me and wondered where I'd been "hiding"), Uncle Eric, Auntie Brenda, and their other friends. No, I just wanted to get settled first! I did say hi to Holly, Peter, Evander, and Everett when they got there, of course.

When Auntie Catherine got there, we caught up a little later - she remembered my birthday in September as "a special time," and wanted us to get together. She said that Frances is getting baptized next week - ha ha ha, good luck with that! (from what Ellen tells me...) I'm probably not going to go for THAT service, but did personally tell Jon that I would be willing to go to Beckett's baby baptism service if VCEFC ever got around to organizing one. Auntie Catherine also would be willing to meet me in RICHMOND (!) on Saturday the 15th, and maybe invite a friend my age. Okay, then! As long as it's not about religion AGAIN...

I taught Ayler about Talk Like A Pirate Day since he was wearing a pirate T-shirt. He asked what people did for that, and how he could celebrate; he eventually figured that he could wear his shirt and say "Arr, matey!" like I suggested. Good ideas! He did ask about my skin scars, but I told him that it was my choice to make boundaries about my body, just like him. Later, he refused to ask my reasonable question about how Grade 1 was so far; then he didn't want me to see the time on Eric's watch, so he covered it up. Okay, then. I did say hi to Hiero, but Harmony was wearing Beckett all evening, probably to prevent people from taking photos.

Nathan, Jeremy, Randal, Caleb, Rebecca, Jon, Harmony, Eric, and I talked about Batman / Quentin Tarantino / Twitch streams / my new glasses and upcoming eye surgery / my Felico's celebration (Jeremy and Nathan say they'll confirm later) / Danielle travelling these days / FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL / learning to ride bikes from Ron and Veronica / CRAZY RICH ASIANS / JOY LUCK CLUB / Kendrick Lamar / some guy named Danny Miller / addiction issues / rappers / the weird Asian shows on the TV, which Harmony did NOT feel the need to ask the staff to turn off / counting the courses. We saw Alan and Tracy with their kid Noah, so waved at them on their way out of the restaurant. I wished Myles a happy early birthday while saying hi to him, Brittney, and Naomi. Then Eric had to wait a few more minutes while I said bye to everyone that I knew... oh well.

Eric dropped me off at 8:40, which is still pretty good. Time to relax now! Oh wait, Mom wants Jon to choose the location of my birthday dinner AGAIN - yeah, I'm not putting up with that this year. Let ME pick the damn restaurant, although at least the Oakridge area on a Monday afternoon is better than Commercial Drive with Sunday bus schedules! Not saying I'll never go to Commercial Drive, but NOT at the behest of another person ON MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY! No, I'm not feeling guilty about that. She tried calling me twice, but I was NOT in the mood for yet more social interaction. That's the true introvert nature!

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: $20 cash (making up for yesterday's pizza plus a little more), an old one-litre Proctor-Silex water boiler (half the size of my current one), a pair of white socks, a pair of pink-and-white candy toe socks, and 200 sheets of Hilroy lined paper.

Today is Retirement Day! After going to the pharmacy next door at 1 to renew my prescription with Adam and buy some more 70% Biomedic rubbing alcohol (cheaper than London Drugs' $6.50, at $4.20 for 450 mL), I showered and did laundry today.

From Julie: King?! I know my sister used to know a Kings Wong in elementary school, but KING is a dog's name!

I managed to take out the old "computer" chair (lots of exposed foam inside) and throw it in the dumpster. Not sorry, Hester! I have a kitchen chair as backup! It's my minor act of rebellion, muhahahaha!

After COFFEE TIME, I left at 2 to catch the C94 for my appointment with Rachel at The Caring Place. Afterwards, I took the 410 to Big Crazy so I could spend $35 on Knorr (extra) hot and sour soup x5 which expires in late January 2019, a slightly smaller 30-centimeter silver metal colander to replace the too-big metallic one from March 2018, a matching metallic silver mixing bowl to replace the pink plastic bowl with pink colander from Mom in April 2014, a premium Shin Ramyun Black spicy Pot-Au-Feu noodle pack, and Sapporo Ichiban chicken noodles. Nothing that would melt in the hot weather - I also just managed to get the 410 after leaving the store - NICE! Then when I got home at 4:15 on a 401 (just managing to get the bus), I washed the bowls and put rubbing alcohol in them to take the stickers off after throwing away the old bowl and colander in the dumpster.

From Julie: Tybreia?!

From Julie: Tybreia's sister is named Arissa?! Is that like Marissa, but with a missing letter? BAD SPELLING!

I got two new homemade soaps, a brief note thanking me for my online Twitch support, and a Ness from Earthbound perler from Cuya in the mail yesterday - NICE! I discovered SURPRISE REDRUM this morning - UGH! Good thing I already had a pad in from yesterday's crap! So then I had to go to London Drugs AGAIN to get some much-needed bulk pads, which I should have just done yesterday while I was there anyway... sigh.

Then I had to walk to the bank to get a NEW chip-enabled debit card since the magnetic strip didn't work, and then return the Winter Creek oysters at Price Smart since I forgot that I'd banned it because I couldn't open them even with the jar opener! No, I didn't care that they couldn't resell it! The customer service worker was named Gunya - WTF?! I simply got easier-to-open and less expensive on-sale Mac's Oysters as a replacement (no more less expensive Fanny Bay oysters!), while deciding "fuck this lineup at the express lane" and going to self-checkout instead.

While I was there, I went to the liquor store to get NEW limited-edition Innis and Gunn Mangoes on the Run mango IPA / NEW Hires Cream Soda and Vodka / NEW limited-edition Snapple Spiked RaspCherry Tea Vodka. (the sale on the Snapple ends today!) Got home at 11:05 on a 407 to unload and rest a bit before going out again. While I was not feeling too terrible, I went to Richmond Centre at 2:35 on a 401 for some new shorts since an old pair met with a poop accident.

H and M did not have what I was looking for, and neither did Sportscheck with their Underarmour shorts. I went into Champs, where I lucked into a 2 for 1 sale on shorts, so of course I took advantage of it, buying two pairs of CSG Black Advancer shorts for $38.08! Then I remembered to check out Shoppers for a frozen Pad Thai meal, which they had, and it was even on sale for $3! Finally got home at 4:30 on a 401, deciding not to wait for the 407 in the hot weather with the frozen meal. Then I emailed Chinese Eric to see if we could hang out for his birthday on August 15!

I went to London Drugs on a 401 (just managing to get the bus in the intermittent snowflakes) at 11:55 so I could get one more two-pack of Designer Workshop pillowcases since the half-price sale ends today. I got THE WRONG SIZE - I DON'T NEED KING SIZE! Also got a NEW steak and mushroom melt from Subway, and on-sale Reese's peanut butter and chocolate hearts x3 / a Cambridge cutlery set / rubbing alcohol. After I got home at 12:30 on a 401, I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online. I'll shower later at some point.

Edit: I went back out at 3:20 to see if I could return / exchange the king-size pillowcase pack. Thank goodness I could! I bought Alter Eco Pacific organic chocolate x3 (Brown Butter / Salt and Malt / Blackout) for Harmony's birthday, Palmolive Oxy dish detergent, and two properly-sized pillowcases! I got home at 3:50, and it was time for some white tea!

Krista once shared this Cyanide and Happiness comic with me from Pinterest: "Nice bike! Is it a Yamaha?" "No." "Is it a Honda?" "No." "Is it a Kawasaki?" "No. It's a menstrual cycle." The guy drives away, and there's a smear of blood on the ground as he does so! HAHAHAHA!

From BGG's Earthbound server: "GEGAR! Why is my pasta broken!" "Oops... Wednesdays are bad."

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND 2018, EVERYONE!

I got a baby girl card for Jason and Vanessa ("KEEP CALM AND CARRY BABY WIPES"), NEW Shasha organic ginger snaps for Vanessa (no sugar?!), 200g of on-sale Ferrero Rocher100 store brand bandages, a NEW Carnation variety pack of hot chocolate (TURTLES Canada / Coffee Crisp / After Eight), and NEW Lipton Chicken Noodle Supreme soup from London Drugs, which has just started charging for plastic bags. I'd just missed the bus, so I walked there instead - it was easier than waiting 20 minutes, I guess. The clerk was surprised that they'd just started charging now since everyone else had been doing it years before, AND London Drugs is about being green. Oh well, good thing I carry around reusable bags with me anyway, most of the time. Plus, Jimmy actually started a FB conversation yesterday, which was also a surprise, but at least it was good to actually catch up with him now that I'm not (as?) mad at him anymore! Got home at 2:40, which is fine for going out at 1:30.

I left at 2:35 for Jon's with the VCS Belgium chocolate seashells, and STILL just managed to get a 401 bus for Brighouse, so I ended up going to Kam Do Bakery for some chocolate cookies. Of course I didn't eat them all on the train - and left them with Jon and Harmony to boot - so that was also fine. I ended up getting to the house at about 3:15 or so, which was surprising. Jon mentioned that I was early; no shit, as I wanted to leave in the relative light! After catching up a bit (talking about Nathan and Frances, mostly), everyone else got up from their nap. We discussed Pocky, roasted vegetables, turkey, rum fruitcake, alcoholic eggnog, Eric Ho and a GUYS NIGHT, Dylan being "Uncle Banjo," a biscuit that said "TEA IS THE GATEWAY DRUG TO BISCUITS," Randal's dad being in the hospital (I gave him a pretty good genuine expression of condolence), St. Paul's, downplaying health issues, explaining Australia's reversed seasons to Ayler, Ayler wanting us to stay longer or overnight, stuffing, O HOLY NIGHT complete with Hiero's banging away on the piano with his "manuscript" (a blank memo pad), Ayler wanting to "cuddle" me so he could go for my Santa hat or white sweater, Hiero wanting to sit on my lap, puzzle pieces, gumballs, and winter break. Ayler thinks he knows more about (school) time than I do, but he seemed to have a good time counting squares on the calendar, too. (after asking why the seashell box said 250!) Hiero can be Victor Borge #2, haha! Mom and Dad drove me home, where I got in at 8:40.

Random stuff from Mom, Dad, and others: A winter-ish dark grey jacket which used to be Grandma's, a Christmas card, $10 in cash, a brown Tahari leather jacket (not as cool as it sounds), a blue polyester Stormtech winter-ish jacket, a dark blue San Francisco winter-ish jacket, a red Roo handbag, a blue Sport Sport handbag, a brown Chinese handbag, a light brown wool toque, blue Thinsulate gloves, a zebra stripe AMAZING GRACE cap, a thin red scarf, a thin leafy dress (?), a brown polyester winter hat, and thin black gloves.

Also: Laura Secord praline Christmas Collection chocolates from white Eric, a MYSTERIES home fragrance gift set from Pier 1 Imports / a FOOTPRINTS journal / Christmas card from Amy W., Santa's Gumball Workshop Dubble Bubble cartons x2, Santa Lifesavers cherry / watermelon / green apple / strawberry / orange Gummies, Florida's Au'Some Christmas candy cane Nuggets, and a Waterbridge chocolate letter N.

Plus: A thin Man Fang Yuen Wa long-sleeved shirt, Nosh and Co. Today's agenda: THE NHL 100TH ANNIVERSARY WINTER CLASSIC! Eric Ho came over early at 1:30 so I could give him the parking pass / parking permit. While he was busy with that, I hid most of my bottled water in my room - didn't stop him from drinking three of them! I was going to buy more bottled water on Wednesday anyhow, but WOW. Then I could FINALLY give Eric his 37 index cards in a Ziploc bag, Cadbury's dark milk chocolate bar, Terry's Chocolate Orange, Ragusa Noir chocolate bar, big Jersey Milk chocolate bar, birthday card, and Christmas card... he definitely thanked me for all of that. He offered to get me food since he was going back home for dinner, but we ended up "sharing" a can of Vegetable Beef Chunky Soup instead at 4:50, meaning I had to wash two bowls and spoons instead of one when he decided that he'd be too full for dinner at home. *rolleyes*

We talked about Nathan and Ciel, trying the Italian Tomato again, serial killers, his children's cough medicine (the pharmacy ran out of other cough medicine since everyone's sick now), remote-controlled stuff, electric cars, gasoline, Steph, Lisa, Carey Price, TMZ, annoying Christmas commercials, Google Home, SURVIVOR, the Hollywood sex scandals, the 1917 Montreal Canadiens / Ottawa Senators, and the negative temperatures at the outdoor game. Also discussed goalies not being allowed to crouch to make saves back in 1917, people swearing, the parking pass patrol, my hockey fan friends, Jon, Harmony, all my nephews, Robert Pickton, Discord, Jimmy, Daniel Alfredsson and the Hall of Fame, venting, SkipTheDishes, Brent Burns, the Vegas Golden Knights winning 2-1 over the Penguins (Fleury's revenge!), THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES movie, and Roberto Luongo / Cory Schneider / Eddie Lack. Eric left during the second intermission at 5:55 to rest before dinner, but I managed to offload all the leftover snacks on him. No, I don't feel like eating crumbs from a bag! Eat them yourself, dude! I also found out that he neglected to retract a pen - UGH!

Helixia Prospan children's cough medicine: An expectorant with ivy leaf extract; relieves cough, loosens mucus and phlegm, 200 mL of syrup, a frog, and tastes like honey for children ages 1 to 11! Sucrose-free, gluten-free, dye-free, and alcohol-free!

From Oddee: This guy named Kevin Daly was wearing this T-shirt while getting arrested for driving under the influence on this date in 2011. "I'm not an alcoholic. I'm a drunk. Alcoholics go to meetings."

From Reddit: This is me with my random white chin hairs, which I coincidentally had to rip out just now!

At 6:50, I took a 407 to get to the liquor store so I could pick out a Halloween-themed beer. I got Weeping Reaper blood orange strong ale from the Dead Frog Brewery, which later turned out to be TOO TALL FOR MY FRIDGE! Then I hit up Price Smart for some Western Family store brand LIMITED EDITION pumpkin pie ice cream before going to London Drugs for a humorous Hanukkah card for Lena since they had one, Frosty the Snowman Advent calendars x9 since those were also at the store (me / Eric H. / Chrystal / Jon / Harmony / Ayler / Hiero / Steph / Lisa), and on-sale Cottonelle toilet paper since today was the last day of the sale. I got home at 8:15 on a 407, which isn't bad at all.

The card: "This Year's Least Popular Hanukkah Toys! Mr. Potato Latke Head, Meshugeneh Patty, Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Rabbis, My Little Bubbie!"
