How Much Toilet Paper? The Toilet Paper Calculator For Quarantine / Isolation!

We were so bored in Ceriam's Discord server that we were sharing photos of our computer / tech setups. Stallings said that my handwriting on the latest version of my shopping list was pretty, so I thanked him for the compliment.

Andrew came over at 5:15 today, after sleeping in. Hey, no worries, I told him. He didn't want to bother with the whole parking pass rigmarole, which I admit IS annoying. We discussed my eye surgery last year, Merritt, family updates, Search Everything, Chrome, my computer settings, computer drivers, pooping 187 times a day to use up a LOT of toilet paper, his wanting to know the programs so he can determine what's going on (which I understand), and fixing the tangled phone cord. He was over for about an hour, and left at 6:45 or so, not finding anything inherently wrong which would cause the computer to freeze! All temperatures are in very normal ranges since I'm underutilizing the computer's power. Nope, this is not a heavy-duty gaming rig!

He cut me a break on his fee (as Mike said) when I asked what the damage was, since he didn't really do too much: $20 cash sounds much better than $40, even during these times! I thought he would say that his kid stayed at his place so long that the pandemic happened during a week's extension, but it turned out to be much worse! We talked about lining up to shop at Superstore and other places now, and raising his rates six months ago - I know that a full tank of gas plus three jerry cans in the States is value! Or it was, but now we can't just go down there for cheap gas.

He did notice that the computer mouse stopped momentarily whenever the computer made a musical noise, but that wouldn't cause things to freeze... of course, the computer WOULD freeze shortly AFTER he left. It's not like I could have reproduced the issue on demand! At his request / upon his request, I did record a rather choppy phone video of me flipping off the power switch at the back and then turning on the power button again. Sigh. I did update Eric as well via text while noticing some weird font issues on my computer, possibly related to Andrew deleting WonderShare and some other programs. Yes, Andrew is still anti-Windows 10. Still, he has to keep current...

The Canucks played Chicago tonight at 7:30, and won 3-0. They even got an empty-netter! It was the Sedin jersey retirement game! The ceremony was awesome - John Shorthouse, Dave Nonis, Markus Naslund, Trevor Linden, Mike Gillis, Marc Crawford, Alex Burrows, Jannik Hansen, and so many others! The twins definitely sent their well-wishes to Jay Bouwmeester, who collapsed on the bench during last night's St. Louis-Anaheim game because of a cardiac issue! After the couple cleaned the bathroom, bedroom, kitchen (and under the sink - outside and not inside?!), and living room... they found a dead mouse on a glue trap when I asked them to clean behind the couch! 9/19/19 is also a palindrome date! The Canucks played Edmonton tonight at 6 in Preseason Game #4, and won 6-1 with goals from six different players! During the first intermission, I tried making online reservations for the Cactus Club on Saturday, but was thwarted because 7 PM was not an available time, so I had to call and see what was up. Eventually, I figured that we should just walk in and see if we got a table. Apparently, it had to do with party size, but 40% of the tables should still theoretically be free. The online reservations would have been so easy, too!

Since Rishu wanted to change our appointment to a phone call because she's sick (which worked for the hockey schedule and my not rushing to make it home in time), I went out at 12:30 on a 401 and went to Boston Pizza to redeem my free birthday dessert offer.

NEW Bourbon BBQ Chicken pizza and Chocolate Explosion Cheesecake it was! I got home at 2:35 on a 401, thanks to just missing an early 407. Luke, Violet Faith, Flaps, and Jimbo said no to Saturday. Rishu called at 4:25 from a blocked number, and that went fine.

9/17/19 is also a palindrome date AND MY BIRTHDAY! After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 3:30 on a 401 to help with the kids. I JUST missed the Brighouse train because of someone shoving their way onto the elevator when the door was closing, and ALMOST missed the 3 bus at Marine Drive because someone wanted to let others on the already full elevator! JESUS CHRIST! People already on the elevator have connections to make and places to go - they can wait for the next one! And no, I did not leave really late!

When I finally got to the house at about the usual time, Beckett was fussing and trying to sleep. Ayler and Hiero were doing some origami; no, they couldn't test me on my birthday since that isn't very nice! I got to see Ayler construct a tiny gift box, while Hiero put very small things in his. Ayler wanted me to look at the origami book, so I did - lots of stuff in there for sure! Later, he wanted to see if he was taller than me yet - nope, but he was also cheating (which I told him) because he was standing on the mat and I was standing on the floor. I did tell him - as usual - the demarcation between my neck and my chin. Wow, he's 4 foot 6 already?!

We had dinner earlier than Beckett, and Hiero told me something interesting about making friends in kindergarten. It's good to know the proper names of your body parts, I told him. Harmony asked what I did for my actual birthday: Uh, you're currently looking at it! Turns out Jon believed Mom when she said it was the 16th, so I told her that maybe she shouldn't automatically believe Mom, and take what SHE says with a very liberal grain of salt. Homemade tomato soup, artisan bread, sticky rice (JONG), chicken feet, spicy sausage, soft carrots, and shortbread camel cookies - I declined the relaxing tea, though!

Beckett finally got a little bit of sleep - which I agree that he needed - and then crawled to my chair and pulled himself up to say hi and eat my dragon hoodie strings. CUTE! He wanted me to play with him, so I did - without washing my hands, which I'm sure Harmony wasn't impressed with. Oh well. Sometimes you gotta let the kid lead! He laughed at the baby pop-up toy, clapped and laughed, climbed on my back to try pulling my hair (Ayler says he claws people and pulls their hair now), and seemed way more energetic than Harmony thought he should be. Maybe he just wanted to play with me since he recognizes and likes me now!

Later, he crawled into the bathroom while Ayler was in there, but I was interested to see what he gets up to inside. Turns out that he's smart and knows that his blue basin is inside the shower stall, so wants to put it on his head. I took him out of there to play with better toys on the mat, and he climbed on me when I put the soccer ball on my head. Harmony let me go early at 7:10, which was a change. There was a transit officer on the 3 Marine Drive bus already, which again did not stop anywhere randomly for a few minutes. I still was a couple minutes late for a Brighouse train, but eventually got home at 8:45. Not a bad end to my birthday at all, involving no rushing like LAST YEAR!

After COFFEE TIME and getting some free NRG Detox Iaso tea samples from Shane in today's mail (yay for bubble-wrap envelopes!), I went out at 2 on a 414 to see Rachel at the Caring Place. We called Shaw and I managed to get my bill lowered by about $50 per month for two years in a row! I'll also get a new cable box and some other things next Wednesday when the technician comes by in the late morning or early afternoon. I killed time by taking advantage of the wi-fi there, in Richmond Centre, and outside Waves Coffee. Texted Paulo, talked to James about food, sent Mike a quick Hangouts message, and generally kept in touch with people. Someone in the V4F Discord server mentioned coffee, so I decided to check the London Drugs website to see whether the tall canisters were on sale - SCORE! I bought a NESCAFÉ instant coffee canister (October 1, 2018) for $10.99 instead of $14.99, plus NEW Late July bacon habanero tortilla chips.

Later, I met Frances for dinner at Pho Han after walking from Richmond Centre to Lansdowne and then taking the 410. Well, she offered to pick me up somewhere near Aberdeen Station around 6 since the restaurant is in one of those little plazas on Capstan Way. It was definitely out of the way, that's for sure! We talked about VCEFC people, my mom calling me for something which turned out to be an "invite" to one of Dad's VOS opera choir concerts tomorrow evening (I never check WhatsApp and she might as well just TELL ME WHAT IT IS ON THE PHONE), Ellen, Facebook, my malfunctioning microwave, her mother and dementia, my spicy pork blood soup, her spring rolls and grilled chicken, her paying for the meal (wow!) and dropping me off later, her brothers, and autism. I guess Mom will pick me up at 5 tomorrow from the courtyard with another bag or two of random stuff before we go for wonton mein or something.

It was good, but I am still glad to be home. I should have gotten her to stand around while I looked at microwaves in London Drugs since I have more than $150 cash in my wallet, but that's probably not what she had in mind when she said "grocery shopping." I just emailed white Eric to see if he can do it and then recycle the old one - then maybe I can give the Danby Designers 700-watt one to Paulo if and when that ends up happening.

Eric M. unexpectedly called me at 2:50 to say that Eric Ho and a few of the guys were going to watch the Toronto Raptors play the Golden State Warriors in an NBA playoff game (Game 2) at 12 Kings, and wondered if I'd like to go. I said sure, why not. (much better freedom without Jimmy around!) He said he'd pick me up around 4:30 or so, and did. While I was waiting, I discovered that he'd texted me about the hangout at noon. Oops! At least we managed to work it out in the end!

Then Eric managed to drop me off in front of the pub after using his phone to navigate his way to 12 Kings. I tried texting Chinese Eric to see where he was, but got no answer. Jeremy came in a few minutes later and we managed to find Chinese Eric and Randal while white Eric was parking. After saying hi, I was still not impressed, so told him to answer his fucking texts, in those words. He said that he'd been talking to Randal, but it's TIME-SENSITIVE! "WHERE ARE YOU?" should be answered IMMEDIATELY! UGH! Yes, I'm being a hypocrite about this. Oh well. Randal gave me a LOOK, but whatever. At least we can be casual acquaintances now, which is okay by me. Eric implied that he wasn't going to invite me, but since Christon was dragging Alice along, he thought of me. Gee, thanks!

We talked about Yellow Dog Play Dead IPA, sharing a platter of nachos / olives / jalapenos / cheese eventually (we paid Chinese Eric back $4.50 each), Obama being in the building for the basketball game, my Reddit mobile being VERY SLOW and not loading (but it eventually did a while later), instant noodles, spicy noodles not good for the stomach, Christon and Alice's fried food, Eric's club sandwich, current events, Jon organizing this but not making it because of teaching, and Nathan being back in town till Christon's wedding, the CFL and BC Lions games / tickets, Jeremy's brother Mark doing well in Seattle, and keeping in touch with people online. When I noticed that Randal was reading The New Evil: Understanding the Emergence of Modern Violent Crime (Michael H. Stone, Gary Brucato, Ann W. Burgess), I had to show him MY current reading material: The Most Evil Women in History (Shelley Klein) - HAHAHA! Randal mentioned that he'd thought of me while picking his book up at the library, and Jeremy laughed at the coincidence, because great minds think alike!

Chinese Eric wasn't impressed that the Raptors lost 109-104, but nobody else in the pub to watch the game was, either. He also owes me an extra 50 cents because he didn't carry cash or expect me to have the London Drugs receipt for the Indomie Mi Goreng Chitato chips. We finally left about an hour after the game, at 8:30. Those stairs at the pub are not disability-friendly since they have no handrail, forcing me to jump the last step, LIKE I DID LAST TIME ON MARCH 12! It wasn't too far to the car, which is fine. Eric got a text message while he was driving into Richmond, which he hoped wasn't Chinese Eric texting him that he was lost on the way to his own car. He said he could give me a ride to Christon's wedding (which is on the same day as Mike Kwan's), but that I'd have to remind him closer to the date since it's so far away now. I totally understand!

Decided to go to the Bay to see if they had any halfway affordable camisoles: I lucked into a half-price weekend sale on Core Life camisoles (which I bet Jimmy would like to wear), and so I bought four of them. Some of them had a built-in shelf bra, which I later found out made things more difficult to wear. Ugh!

Went to London Drugs to get Indomie Mi Goreng Chitato chips x5 for Chinese Eric, Speed Stick Glacier deodorant, limited-edition Cheetos Leaves snacks for Canada Day, NEW on-sale Hardbite Pepper Jack chips, an on-sale Tasty Bite pack (Organic Ancient Grains), and Purell hand sanitizer x3. I got home at 4:35 on a 407, which is good. I just was not available all day, and I definitely did wish him a happy birthday. Of COURSE I went to bed after doing stuff online when I got home after dinner that evening - DUH!

As for Friday, I was going to try drawing him into a conversation after going out with everyone, but I knew I was slightly out of it. (not as much as poor Term, though!) One-word answers definitely made me think that he was upset. For once, I believe it didn't matter. I told him everything that was on my mind, then was called "the most vain person" before he blocked me. He also deflected my question about blocking people on to ME! Nope, you're the one who's an ass at the very least. He's also a sub, and he doesn't GET to have boundaries! HA! I hung around Deb and Dylan's today since the paint dude was coming by to finish up whatever he did yesterday, and he left at 10:30. SO EARLY! Managed to use up a lot of time by being on Discord and Reddit mobile, then ate my packed lunch of leftovers from last night: chicken wings and fish! I had a little hiccup when Rachel called at 2:30-ish as we had planned, but that was quickly rectified. Thank goodness that the paint guy had left by then! Earlier, Steph had tried to call my home line - nope, didn't work!

Dylan didn't see me when he came in with his electric bike, so we talked briefly before I went upstairs. Turns out he tried to nap on the couch for a while before Deb and the kids got home. Declan showed me his toys in his little alcove: A Pokemon Beyblade and orange stadium! Never mind the tent! We had a slightly later dinner: rotini pasta with meatballs, tomato sauce, chicken cordon bleu, and Sleeman's Honey Brown Lager! I went upstairs after that, then Elysse came up later to convince me to find Declan since they were playing tag or something - sure, let's go find him! You too!" because honestly, if you can't see past the words of the wish to its good intent, then it's not the holiday well-wisher who's broken, it's you. Be a good human. Wish someone well this holiday season. Use whatever expression you'd like.

2018 Year In Review!

THIS ENTRY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE NON-ALIGNED TAGS.

[Meme fun: Take the first line from the first post of every month of the year. Repost it here as your year in review. (I'm discounting greetings and things like that :P) Yeah, it's been an interesting year!]

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of the year. Post the first line of it in your journal as a paragraph, and that's your "Year In Review."

I got a baby girl card for Jason and Vanessa ("KEEP CALM AND CARRY BABY WIPES"), NEW Shasha organic ginger snaps for Vanessa (no sugar?!), 200g of on-sale Ferrero Rocher, 100 store brand bandages, a NEW Carnation variety pack of hot chocolate (TURTLES Canada / Coffee Crisp / After Eight), and NEW Lipton Chicken Noodle Supreme soup from London Drugs, which has just started charging for plastic bags. SO MUCH ON-SALE BLACK PEPPER SALMON JERKY FOR ME AND JIMMY AND JULIE, OH MY! I called Barry at 8:35 AM to tell him about the mouse on the glue trap which I discovered last night. The computer restarted at 6 AM! I called Barry at 9:40 this morning to remind him about going to Rona for a Victor Pest Chaser Ultrasonic Rodent Repeller, which cost $33. I went to the pharmacy next door at 1:50 to refill my prescription early; yes, even Adam commented on it!

I left at 5:55 to get two 3-subject Hilroy notebooks in green and light blue (for home use and road use) from London Drugs, returning home at 6:40 on a late 407. CHOCOLATE AND BATHROOM REPLACEMENTS GALORE AGAIN, and today's date is a palindrome: 8/1/18! Yesterday, Frances C. emailed me to say that she couldn't make it to Felico's because of work, which is fine. I went out at 12 on a 401 so I could buy Campbell's Chunky Soup (Jerk Chicken with Vegetables / Butter Chicken with Vegetables), NESCAFÉ instant coffee (December 16, 2017), a NEW on-sale limited edition Oh Henry! Canada / Oh Henry 4:25 Pop-Up candy bar, barkTHINS snacking dark chocolate with pumpkin seeds for Thanksgiving dinner, NEW limited edition Doritos Late Night Fully-Loaded Nacho chips, and HALLS assorted mint cough drops. I went out at 12:20 on a 414 to do some shopping for on-sale Halloween candy and Advent calendars. COFFEE TIME while I'm still figuring out why Jimmy blocked me instead of just talking to me about what I did...... I should have posed it as a hypothetical a while ago!

Yay - I got all the MOTHER 3 items because of cheat codes! :D

After COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 8:30 AM so we could go to the UBC Eye Care Centre on Willow at 9:15 AM for an eye measurement scan because of my dense cataract. RED LIGHTS IN FRONT OF MY EYES! SMELLING SKIN! The technician asked where my parents were and why they weren't with me... I CAN TAKE CARE OF THINGS MYSELF, AND MY RIDE IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

Barry and I talked about the rush-hour traffic, the Royal Bank kiosk machine that I noticed yesterday inside Shoppers, changing the payday shopping appointment plans to THURSDAY instead of Wednesday at 9:30 AM (gets me out of going to Dinesty with the parents!), his ongoing Wednesday appointments at 11, the RDSP stuff, and music. I got home at 10:10, and he helped me move the bedframe support back inside from where the cleaners left it outside where I'd bump into it. OUCH! I still can't close my bedroom door fully, though.

While I remembered, I emailed Eric about the construction zone and consequent road closures as a reminder for Sunday's ride to Jeremy's. He replied to say that he has a cold, so might not be okay for Sunday - UGH! The Canucks played the Wild at 5 today, and lost 6-2! I also discovered that SOMEONE put my Not Always Right / Not Always Right / Not Always Working / Not Always Romantic / Not Always Related / Not Always Learning / Not Always Friendly / Not Always Hopeless / Not Always Legal / Not Always Healthy / Unfiltered / Popular Disqus account on a commenting timeout! WHAT THE FUCK?! NOT ALWAYS FUN! Too bad - I've been on there since September 2008, thanks to my ex-friends David K. and Candace! MORE THAN A DECADE!

I went to the pharmacy next door at 1:30 to refill my prescription, showered, and did laundry today. Then I went to H and M to see if I could get sweatpants. No luck at all, even when I dragged an associate across the store! At least now I have the phone number and (mow that I'm home) the proper tag numbers for my preferred style of sweatpants! 604-279-1811 AND 063 658 68! When I got home and organized stuff, I called the store - they don't have that one because it's popular / best-selling, but will have a shipment in very soon, and said I should call in the late afternoon or early evening. Okay, then!

I got on-sale Arm and Hammer 50-load laundry detergent and store brand garbage bags at Shoppers, and on-sale bulk pads x2 (saving $1 per package) at London Drugs (just missing the 407) before hauling the heavy stuff home at 2:50 on a 401, having to get off one stop earlier because of the road closures and construction! Gotta remind white Eric about that soon... I also found a random Bench / Body men's underwear in her dried laundry. o_O

I got this error message on Discord this morning. 50 new messages since 4 PM on DECEMBER 31, 1969?! Apparently, it's a common default date for programming. (not for dates, but date-time integers) AKA 0 would be Dec. 31, 1969 at X PM... 10000 would be like Jan. 1 at Y PM. January 1, 1970 00:00:00 UTC was the beginning of time... for computers that use C-based time systems that is. ... which also happens to be 1969 December 31 4:00:00 PM PST. (short version: Someone at Discord screwed up, and it used a time value of 0)

I got an unexpected email and phone call from Mom about a phone at Wireless and Richmond Centre, so called them at 1:25 to discover that they had just gone from Richmond Centre. At least I got a relatively drama-free lunch at the nearby Mui's (satay beef and vermicelli noodles with hot milk tea!) and an extra $5 in cash out of it. Talked about a professional cleaning service, Eric M. going to baby Beckett's banquet so I might have a ride, weird advice about giving Barry an extra $5 or $10 cash every time he had to drive me downtown because it's the Chinese way of doing things (NO!), and Mom going deaf because of dishwashing machines at the hospital. Sure, whatever. At least I was back home at 2:05, and showered later!

White Eric gave me and the Salsitas chips a ride to Jeremy's at 4:45 so we could hang out and watch the Washington Capitals play the Vegas Golden Knights in Playoffs Hockey Game #3, Final Round. (the Knights lost 3-1) Christon couldn't make it, but we chilled with Chinese Eric, Jeremy, and Randal instead. We discussed Old Dutch Ripple chips, my Salsitas, Mexican Chili Old Dutch chips, payment for the Pesto Chicken / Meat Lovers pizzas from Ignite Pizza, OCEAN'S ELEVEN, Reddit, ads / commercials, the next hangout (for the sake of my sanity and having to hear Chinese Eric say "you know?" every few words, I hope it's way later!), the baby's name, selling air in OLAY, contactless payment, and Amazon locks. Got home at 10 and just chilled.

The Canucks played the Coyotes at 7 tonight in the Sedins' last home game of the 2017-2018 NHL season, and won 4-3 in overtime on a Daniel Sedin goal assisted by Henrik - it was LIKE A MOVIE! Then I showered.

Then I went to Shoppers for on-sale Campbell's clam chowder x6, and got home at 12:20. The Canucks played the Coyotes at 6:30 tonight, and won 3-1.
