I went out with a Miniso face mask at 12:30 on a 407. Went to Lansdowne T and T with my Asian old lady shopping cart to see if I could get a box of 50 face masks for $31. After lining up for 20 minutes because the line snaked around the market area of Lansdowne Mall, I FINALLY got inside with a temperature scanner check (which was fine) and managed to get a box from Customer Service. Since I was there anyway, I checked out the noodle aisle. I got Samyang Buldak Topokki noodles x2 and NEW Samyang Buldak Corn noodles x2 / Samyang Buldak Kimchi chicken terrorist noodles x2. My cart was already plenty full and bulky by the time I left at 1, but I decided to walk to Price Smart anyway, where the lineup moves MUCH FASTER! I got Fanny Bay oysters (May 5), Snack Pack vanilla pudding (May 22), plus NEW Snack Pack DRAGON TREASURE and UNICORN MAGIC puddings. Decided to get a NEW on-sale Aero Gold chocolate bar, a NEW on-sale Kit-Kat Gold chocolate bar, NEW Crave microwaveable meals (Bacon and Egg Scramble with Cheddar Cheese, and Chorizo Egg Scramble with Goat Cheese), and NEW limited-edition Tiramisu Oreos.

After that, I went home at 2:45 on a 407 to rest for a bit before going to London Drugs at 6:30. Planters BBQ peanuts (May 16), Pure Standards Products hydrogen peroxide, Arm and Hammer baking soda, on-sale organic Classico tomato garlic pasta sauce for the same $4 price as regular (sale ends May 27), a small Reese's Pieces (May 18), NEW Orange Vanilla Coke (May 8), NEW LaRose hand sanitizer for the same $4 price as regular, Tao Kae Noi wasabi seaweed snacks, Fudge Swirl Lindt truffles for tomorrow (May 2), and Aroy-D green curry for my Uncle Ben's jasmine rice. Got home at 7:25, which is fine by me.

I found a dead mouse after trying to take another snow photo by my window last night, so spent time frantically texting people like Barry / Deb / Paulo. No answer from Barry, Deb said I should call my manager (so I said that Hester is notoriously difficult about it being "my job" even though they provide glue traps), and Paulo was still at work. He did come by at 9:30 to help with the removal, using tissues before doing anything with rubber gloves, and I got him to just take it outside in the plastic bag in the cold weather. I thanked him when he left - we talked briefly about the server and the -6 / -12 weather, too.

Note to self: It's much easier to find lotion in any amount at London Drugs than Shoppers Drug Mart, for sure!


Decided to go to the Bay at 11:45 (just managing to get the 401) to exchange that purple Wenger suitcase for a darker one; luckily, the older lady wasn't working there to give me more nonsense about how I should only maneuver it forward and not backward! Successfully exchanged the rain-soaked purple suitcase for a a similar charcoal one instead, then decided to get some on-sale $22 Jockey underwear x3 since I'd have to do laundry later anyway before going to the Shoppers to fruitlessly look for lotion, AGAIN! I did get on-sale $2 Palmolive dish soap x2 in Green Apple and Oxy scents, though.

Walked to London Drugs and successfully found lots of 100mL lotion tubes, so I selected a Jergens Ultra Care Restoring Argan Oil before finally getting home at 1:50 on a 407 to do some laundry. Some mother in line sighed resignedly when I politely asked if I could go ahead of her since I only had one item - she showed me her basket and said she only had four items (all toddler stuff), but she GUESSED I could go ahead if I REALLY needed to... YES, I DO! ONE ITEM TAKES PRECEDENCE, AND SOME PEOPLE HAVE BUSES TO CATCH! The Canucks played Carolina tonight at 7, and won 1-0 on Petey's goal. PHEW!

Hayley posted a "wings meetup" in the Sober Server... WITH NO TIME, DATE, OR PLACE! Does she have an aversion to it, or is it because she's a millennial?! Nate thinks I seem bitter, but that's not the case. Even Term affirmed that one! I'm not going to go to a hangout without a time, date, or location! I need to plan my fucking day, not spend at least 90 minutes on transit and then another 90 minutes eating and visiting! (DEFINITELY not if it's in Burnaby!) Today is National Dumpling Day! I called Chrystal at work at 11:40 to see if we were still on for tomorrow's Birthday Dinner #3, and WE ARE! The Canucks played Arizona tonight at 7 in Preseason Game #8 (the last one!), and lost 3-2. Deb said that they could take me out to Korean food tomorrow night, but I'm not free due to the aforementioned plans. Next week on the 4th sounds fine, especially since it's a non-hockey night! I also banned someone from the Fearsome hockey group for typing in very mangled English (it would just annoy me even more throughout the year), and making every comment into some kind of slam freeform poetry.

9/19/19 is also a palindrome date! It's Talk Like A Pirate Day today! Since Rishu wanted to change our appointment to a phone call because she's sick (which worked for the hockey schedule and my not rushing to make it home in time), I went out at 12:30 on a 401 and went to Boston Pizza to redeem my free birthday dessert offer.

NEW Bourbon BBQ Chicken pizza and Chocolate Explosion Cheesecake it was! I got home at 2:35 on a 401, thanks to just missing an early 407. Luke, Violet Faith, Flaps, and Jimbo said no to Saturday. Rishu called at 4:25 from a blocked number, and that went fine.


NEW Bourbon BBQ Chicken pizza: House-made Bourbon BBQ Sauce, BBQ chicken, balsamic-roasted red onions, pizza mozzarella, cheddar cheese, and bacon, finished with a buttermilk ranch drizzle!




Free birthday dessert: Chocolate Explosion Cheesecake! I was Asian about it and ordered the most expensive thing on the menu. Creamy chocolate mousse with chunks of cheesecake, caramel, toffee, pecans, and almonds on a chocolate crust.

I left at 4:30 to meet Rishu at 5 at Touchstone, then went to the public market for some dinner while I was out anyway: Eggplant (ew), fried noodles, cauliflower, bamboo shoots, broccoli, carrots, and pork! Met up with Nick from Discord, which was fine - boy, is he open about some things, though! Talked about his being a Flames fan in Canucks territory, Michelle, narcissism, therapy, exes, drunk confessions, concerts, missing his best friend (but he's working), stepfamilies, frat bro people, welding, the Commercial / Broadway area, pizza, drinking a lot, smoking again, and more. I just wanted to get home reasonably quickly! After I got home at 6:35 on a 407, I took a shower.

I discovered REDRUM this morning, but still took a shower to help me feel better. After COFFEE TIME, I discovered a TOILET PLUMBING PROBLEM: IT WOULDN'T FLUSH PROPERLY! I left a note with Hester to cover my ass AND called her about it, but then I had to leave since I had no time to play phone tag! I went out at 2:55 on a 407 to help with the kids. Even after being at Marine Drive to see a 3 Downtown pull up to the stop, I wasn't even at Jon's any earlier than I was last week! Thanks, strollers and walkers which got on AND off before I left the bus at 16th! /sarcasm Yes, of course they're obviously entitled to use the bus (as are wheelchairs) - I was just glad I left a few minutes earlier than I did last week.

Beckett was sleeping when I got there; Ayler and Hiero were playing that Emoji Memory card game that I bought, so I got an answer to the question I asked Jon about what they do when the baby is supposed to be sleeping. Otherwise, I'd have asked the kids myself. Hiero tried making up his own rules: "No touching cards that other people have touched!" (which is totally nonsense for a MEMORY CARD game) and how you can shoot people who are already dead. I said those weren't fair! (they won the game and I lost - whatever) Ayler was sick because of some heatstroke at the Langley berry farm yesterday. We had a dinner of various things: macaroni and cheese, ribs, pizza, cold noodles, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, and more. Discussed power-washing balconies, Hiero spilling almond milk on the floor and my black Secret socks (I had fun telling them that I can make up my own rules too, like I can pause dinner to put on their dad's holey socks and wash my hands), some salad Mom gave them which expires today (I didn't want it to take home - so Harma tossed it), and how we shouldn't shoot people at the dinner table.

Beckett ate a bit of stuff, but was pretty much done fairly soon into his "meal." I had fun hanging out with him afterwards, though, even if he threw balls all over the place. He has new colorful soft ones, which are probably better for the downstairs neighbors complaining about everything. He seemed to like the new penguin, at least. I let him climb on me because it's cute, but watched to make sure he didn't fall off the couch or anything. The balcony is effectively closed off to him because of a rather interesting arrangement of chairs and other things. PHEW! I think he had fun chewing on his Christmas board books, too.

I left at 8 after doing some STAR WARS STORMTROOPERS summer reading with the kids, after Hiero had to go to a separate room because he was hugging a whimpering Beckett, and after I had grabbed Beckett before he got to the kids' jigsaw puzzle / after he invaded the washroom while Hiero was in the shower. I sent Mike a quick message ("thanks for the great fish head idea, Uncle Mike - says Nephew") using the Save-On wi-fi at the bus stop - thank goodness I didn't just miss the 3 Marine Drive bus! The bus driver didn't create a delay this time, but instead it was an old guy who was slow in even using his wheelchair to get on AND off the bus! Yup, he is totally entitled to use the buses (and it could be me one day), but be reasonably fast about it - come on now, other people have connections to make!

At the station, I quickly went to T&T to look for (and get) some quirky Lays chips for Rachel - Numb and Spicy Hot Pot, Wasabi, and Kimchi! I should get the Deep-Ridged ones next time: Spicy Chicken and Pork! Thank goodness I managed to get the Brighouse train home within two minutes of getting to the train area, and I FINALLY got home at 9! Thanks to the delays, I was able to text both Paulo and both Erics in detail. The toilet STILL wasn't fixed, so I had to consult V4F and then use buckets for filling up the tank. Sigh... I guess I'll have to call Hester tomorrow morning. No melatonin tonight...

Just in time for a daily update! Before Paulo came over to pick up his stuff four minutes ago, I took a shower today. I gave Paulo his All-Bran Buds portion in a Rubbermaid microwaveable container (plus the packaging for that), one pack of Kwangchun Healthful roasted seaweed, some Mala Samyang noodles, regular Samyang Fire noodles, MyKuali spicy prawn Penang noodles, MyKuali spicy white curry Penang noodles, MyKuali Red Tom Yum Goong noodles, Sapporo Ichiban Tonkotsu ramen noodles, Vedan Bah Kut tea noodles, Vedan mushroom and artificial cuttlefish noodles, Vedan spicy Korean kimchi noodles, Vedan spicy mushroom noodles, Samyang Carbo Cheese noodles, Samyang Spicy Cheese noodles, and Paldo Korean Bul Jjamppong noodles - all in the LOQI reusable bag with cats on it that Jon and Harmony gave me for Christmas last year. I have tested it out; it's just not as roomy as the ones from London Drugs!

He was pretty excited, dancing around like a little kid! Yes, we both forgot about opening the Winter Creek oyster jar until he'd left, but I was luckily able to grab him before he had exited the building! He apologized for the lateness of the intrusion, but it's fine. LUCKILY, it was BEFORE midnight and I wasn't talking to Mike at the time. He also thought some MOTHER 3 music was some water boiling - if it sounds like THAT, then you got problems! It's the high notes of the jukebox!

I went to the eye clinic at 9:45 on a 401 (which I got just in time) for the six-week followup today at 10:45 after COFFEE TIME (20/30 vision is a good improvement even if I can't read fine print), then had lunch at Yaohan before seeing Rachel at the Caring Place for the last time. At Brighouse, I encountered a rude wheelchair old man idiot who assumed I was cutting him off at the fare gates - nope, I'm just faster than you, and other people also have places to go! He should also watch what he says and isn't the only person entitled to the fare gates. Any empathy I might have had for him having only one leg was just drained in that moment.

Dr. Wise recommended cheap reading glasses for now since my eyes still look healthy, and wants me to come back in six months on January 3. I went to Yaohan and killed the memory dragon of messaging people on the 6 Davie / 6 Downtown bus routes. Got beef internal noodles with wonton for lunch, and Lays lime chips / Lays cucumber chips in big bags for Rachel, Campbell's mushroom soup x2, a NEW on-sale Double-Ridged Lays chips package in Spicy Chicken and BBQ Pork (two each), MyKuali Penang Red Tom Yum Goong noodles, and NEW MyKuali spicy prawn noodles at Osaka Supermarket.

After the wrap-up session, I briefly went to Shoppers to buy on-sale Ben and Jerry's IF I HAD A MILLION FLAVORS and PEANUT BUTTER HALF-BAKED ice cream for Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day on July 1 coming up! No more frozen items until I eat some - the freezer can't fit anything else except air molecules! Got home at 4:25 on a 407, which is totally fine. Then I took a shower and discovered that Jon had made a reservation under his name at the Lion's Den for Randal's birthday on Sunday at 6. Nice!

THE 2019-2020 NHL SCHEDULE IS OUT TODAY! I came across a problem with my HP Laserjet 1020 printer today while printing out the Canucks schedule and generating more "origami paper" for Hiero. It said there was a paper jam, but it had been printing things out just fine a few seconds beforehand! After Googling it and attempting to fix it myself via a Youtube video, I texted white Eric about the issue after a phone call got no answer. (which is totally fine)

Left my phone on and he called me at 7:05 to figure out the problem more in depth, so I showered immediately afterwards. He came by at 7:40 to figure out the bigass cartridge, and show me what to do. Turns out I have to tilt the mustache on it at a certain downwards angle, which I attempted myself. He left five minutes later - then Jon emailed a bunch of us about Randal's upcoming birthday: Lion's Den at Fraser and Kingsway, then maybe 12 Kings or Bells and Whistles (17th and Kingsway) for drinks afterwards. Randal wants me there? Okay, then... nice!

I had a chocolate muffin, coffee, and pear slices as breakfast before Deb dropped me off near Brighouse Station. The one-week followup went pretty well at the eye clinic: NO MORE GLASSES FOR NOW! I decided to get a NEW McDonalds Chocolate Nanaimo Bar McFlurry at the Broadway McDonalds, but that was very disappointing... YUCKY coconut flakes! Then I went back to Deb and Dylan's on a 407, but checked out the nearby M and M Meat Shops since I'm rarely out this way: Cilantro and Lime basmati rice, Brown Basmati and Wild Rice, and Long Grain White Rice in microwaveable packages. I saw some BAD SPELLING at the Chateau Quality Drycleaners: HOW DO YOU MISSPELL "COMFORTERS"?!

Eventually, I had fried rice with chicken and sriracha sauce for flavor as a real lunch. Vicky, Jason, baby Lucas, Pastor Dan, and white Eric all came over tonight for dinner: Pizza Hut Supreme pizza x2, quinoa salad, Build Your Own Taco from Costco, Welch's white grape juice, boxed Pinot Grigio wine, French bread, prosciutto, coffee, tea, cantaloupes, and Two Bite Brownies! We talked about small group memories, moving a lot, kids picking up things quickly, FLINCH the show, the swearing Roomba, the Victoria Day long weekend, Christon's wedding being the same day as Mike Kwan's (August 31), remembering wedding anniversaries, Sharon, and church stuff.

Eric agreed to give me a ride home, which we reached at 9:40. He definitely helped me wheel my stuff into my place! When I left Deb and Dylan's, Deb gave me some frozen food because Dylan was thinking of me. Walmart's Your Fresh Market shepherd's pie and chicken Parmesan are good, but technically expired since the expiry date is May 7. Guess I'll have to eat them both soon-ish!

Paulo coming over for noodles and ginger ale! NO SPICY! / G'Mario Charleston?!

Paulo let me know yesterday that he could come over tonight for noodles and ginger ale, which totally worked for me! Definitely no alcohol after last Friday for him, especially not with the stated effects on his body and liver! Today, he said he could come over around 8 unless that was too late - nope! He ended up taking a long nap and came over around 8:30 instead, but that was fine. Before I forgot, I asked him to take care of the wonky stove element wire. Thank goodness that he was able and willing to help! (and also to do his own dishes) I had cued up some relaxing FINAL FANTASY video game music, and we talked about that franchise / EARTHBOUND / MOTHER 3, MEGA MAN, DRAGON QUEST / DRAGON WARRIOR / instrumental music while cooking and eating noodles.

We talked about that smoke-filled ride from Chilliwack to Richmond in 2008 (starting off the summer of hell), Tinder bios, NO revenge porn, private things, Nissin black garlic oil noodles, the Samyang curry chicken terrorist noodles which ALMOST defeated him ("I'M DYING!" - I didn't care if he posted a photo of the bowl to Discord!), cigar / cigarette smoking, vaping, not judging Brian for his addiction or choice, Discord, Holly, Darryl being at a Metric concert, a Portland trip for Darryl and some others tomorrow, not interrupting stuff, Guu, Jeremy, and weird posts on my Facebook newsfeed. He definitely thanked me for having me over, the noodles, Ben and Jerry's peanut butter cookie dough ice cream as a chaser, Canada Dry ginger ale, two Pepto Bismol pills just in case he had an upset stomach later, and Gatorade bottle to take home at 11:30. We should do this again = all he has to do is let me know! At least he's more appreciative than SOME people...

I was up far too early (6 AM?!) for a smoke detector inspection at 12:45. At least yesterday's snow has melted! Chinese Eric emailed me to wonder where I was because he tried calling me on the 17th (oops), but says that our next hangout could be in late March or early April because there are some INTERESTING games coming up if the Canucks are in playoff contention. Well, I guess we shall see about this!

I got up at 5:45 AM - UGH! COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT! Teunis emailed me back to wonder about the nearby mall's hours - maybe he means Richmond Centre, I don't know. He's also one of those weird people who refers to his wife as his partner, but I can deal with that. I found an old spiderweb by the bathroom, so I got two Kleenexes to scoop it up before flushing that down the toilet. Then I put my bath mat through the washing machine, which seemed to be fine afterwards: I didn't even have to dry the thing since it wasn't overly wet later! Then I protected myself with a scarf, rubber gloves, and plastic bag against a mousetrap with.... wood shavings and a very old tiny gingerbread man on it. Okay then. That's enough housecleaning for today!

This is for [livejournal.com profile] rogermellie, who wanted to know what my loves and passions in life were.

This is also for [livejournal.com profile] p1r4t3_k1ng, who wanted to know what was cool about me. (or not, depending on my outlook) They also have a last name in common: ANDERSON. :D


Here's a short list:

I'm a bit interested in twins (and other multiples; triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets, sextuplets, etc.), babies and kids (I like them to a certain extent, but am a long way from having them right at the moment), reading, humor, true crime, comics.. the list could go on and on.

What I do for fun: reading, going to bookstores and the library, hanging out with friends, eating out with them, keeping in touch with people, listening to music, going to my friends' houses, looking after little kids, sometimes going places by myself, parties at friends' houses, etc.

Foods I like: some Chinese food (hot and sour soup, noodles, curry, wonton soup, etc.), pizza, pasta, chicken, sushi, turkey, Pho noodles, steak, etc.

Music I like: classic rock, some current rock, some pop (no BSB-type stuff for me)... that's about it, though I can stand most other types... even my brother's weird mix tapes of Monster Magnet, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, and Mercury Rev. Some other groups I like include (but are not limited to): Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Everclear, Matthew Good Band, Our Lady Peace, Led Zeppelin, New Order, the Doors, Big Sugar, Creed, Nickelback, Collective Soul, the Police, etc.

Stuff I like to read: humorous stuff, some (auto-)biographies, Guinness World Records stuff (that Primetime TV show is cool), the Outlander series, Bathroom Readers, true crime, trivia, some fiction (and some non-fiction as well), comic strips, stuff about music... guess it all depends on what I feel like reading!

I'm an introvert, so I need my time alone to recharge. I also have a mild form of cerebral palsy, which causes me to limp. I am also on disability because of mild depression.

I like reading, listening to music, watching Youtube videos, and video games. I like humorous stuff, Diana Gabaldon books, Bathroom Readers, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, and am getting into random fantasy novels. (I enjoyed Jack Whyte's UTHER) I also like true crime, trivia, some fiction (and some non-fiction as well), comic strips, stuff about music... guess it all depends on what I feel like reading!

Music: I enjoy video game soundtracks, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, Ministry, GWAR, Our Lady Peace, Matthew Good, classic rock, some current rock, some pop (no BSB-type stuff for me)... no rap or country, though. I also like Monster Magnet, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, and Mercury Rev. Some other groups I like include (but are not limited to): Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Everclear, Led Zeppelin, New Order, the Doors, Big Sugar, Collective Soul, the Police, etc.

TV shows: I admit to only being a random TV watcher, as the Internet is a vast time-suck. I did enjoy random episodes of SOUTH PARK and KING OF THE HILL. It doesn't matter to me whether you watch TV when I'm around. However, I do like Canucks hockey, and can usually be found listening to the radio or watching TV when a game is on!

Video games: I have played a few of the classic ones only. For some reason, I can't get into contemporary video games. I've played DRAGON WARRIOR 1-4, DRAGON QUEST 5 and 6, EARTHBOUND, the MOTHER series, LUFIA AND THE FORTRESS OF DOOM, and FINAL FANTASY 1 / 2 / 4-6.

Foods I like: some Chinese food (hot and sour soup, noodles, curry, wonton soup, etc.), pizza, pasta, chicken, sushi, turkey, Pho noodles, steak, etc.


I'm looking for a chill, empathetic, understanding, and calm person who is low-maintenance, yet is willing to work on a relationship seriously. I enjoy just hanging around the house once we get to know each other well enough. You should also use correct spelling and grammar in your messages. I prefer text over phone calls, at least initially. If you get to know me, I am a quirky person with her own eccentricities!
