I found a dead mouse after trying to take another snow photo by my window last night, so spent time frantically texting people like Barry / Deb / Paulo. No answer from Barry, Deb said I should call my manager (so I said that Hester is notoriously difficult about it being "my job" even though they provide glue traps), and Paulo was still at work. He did come by at 9:30 to help with the removal, using tissues before doing anything with rubber gloves, and I got him to just take it outside in the plastic bag in the cold weather. I thanked him when he left - we talked briefly about the server and the -6 / -12 weather, too.

I did go to Shoppers for on-sale Jamison Vitamin D3 gummies (almost half-price!), NEW Lindt Milk Mint / Hazelnut truffles, NEW Life brand echinacea x120, NEW Delecto assorted dark chocolates in a purple box, NEW Cheetos Snowflakes, and NEW Hot Cocoa Hershey's Kisses! The Canucks played Nashville today at 5, and won 6-3! FIVE POWER PLAY GOALS!

Today is National Sandwich Day! :D I had to change the clock an hour back - UGH! Shaw had a five-hour outage at Minoru Park - DOUBLE UGH! I survived by napping (had a dream that I couldn't get out of bed and the electricity was finicky), reading TRUTH TRIVIA AND THE PURSUIT OF FACTINESS (Bathroom Reader #32), texting Paulo / white Eric about Chinese Eric / Pothead Mike (no, I'm not thinking of losing touch if I switch communication modes!), and eating some Stagg Chili Southwest Chicken Style with jasmine rice.

Before Paulo dropped by to share the Gizella mango cheesecake, I took a shower and threw some stuff away in the old Nester's Market reusable bag. He showed up at 4; of course I didn't mind if he rested on the couch while talking about Darryl, Nate, Steve's new car, Jeff inviting him out for wings special at 12 Kings tonight (and Jeremy shit-talking him for that), V4F not being an exclusive club, reasonable "no disruptions" rules for meetups, his coming back to servers eventually (he can take all the time he needs), HURTS not being a great first word to use in public for the baby (what will people think?!), what people said about him, and seeing people in Oregon like his cousin. It was good to see him again - he left at 5, which is pretty reasonable. HE TOOK THE MANGO CHEESECAKE WITH HIM?! I immediately took the Dr. Oetker strawberry cheesecake out to thaw in the meantime - BACKUP CHEESECAKE!

I went to the eye clinic at 9:45 on a 401 (which I got just in time) for the six-week followup today at 10:45 after COFFEE TIME (20/30 vision is a good improvement even if I can't read fine print), then had lunch at Yaohan before seeing Rachel at the Caring Place for the last time. At Brighouse, I encountered a rude wheelchair old man idiot who assumed I was cutting him off at the fare gates - nope, I'm just faster than you, and other people also have places to go! He should also watch what he says and isn't the only person entitled to the fare gates. Any empathy I might have had for him having only one leg was just drained in that moment.
Dr. Wise recommended cheap reading glasses for now since my eyes still look healthy, and wants me to come back in six months on January 3. I went to Yaohan and killed the memory dragon of messaging people on the 6 Davie / 6 Downtown bus routes. Got beef internal noodles with wonton for lunch, and Lays lime chips / Lays cucumber chips in big bags for Rachel, Campbell's mushroom soup x2, a NEW on-sale Double-Ridged Lays chips package in Spicy Chicken and BBQ Pork (two each), MyKuali Penang Red Tom Yum Goong noodles, and NEW MyKuali spicy prawn noodles at Osaka Supermarket.
After the wrap-up session, I briefly went to Shoppers to buy on-sale Ben and Jerry's IF I HAD A MILLION FLAVORS and PEANUT BUTTER HALF-BAKED ice cream for Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day on July 1 coming up! No more frozen items until I eat some - the freezer can't fit anything else except air molecules! Got home at 4:25 on a 407, which is totally fine. Then I took a shower and discovered that Jon had made a reservation under his name at the Lion's Den for Randal's birthday on Sunday at 6. Nice!

I went shopping at 12:35 today, having to walk to London Drugs because the endless construction and sewer upgrades have made the nearby bus stops non-operational. Had to rest twice in fifteen minutes! Bought letter stickers / Lysol wipes x80 / on-sale Cepacol throat drops / Carrot Cake Oreos / Salsitas chips, then decided to go to the Bay across the street and get a dark blue cotton towel. I finally got home at 2:45, and plan to take a shower later.

Today is Bad Poetry Day! Eric M. called me at 12:40 to see if I wanted a ride to Boston Pizza for Chinese Eric's birthday hangout: a 1 PM BC Lions game against the Toronto Argonauts! Sure, sounded good to me, especially since I'd been going to leave in five minutes anyway! Of course I brought Chinese Eric's birthday card and on-sale Ritter Sport Dark Chocolate with Peppermint and on-sale Ritter Sport Fine Extra Dark Chocolate, which I gave to him right away! I also figured out that my own birthday dinner would probably be at Kisamos Greek Taverna in Steveston on Sunday, September 23rd. When white Eric and I got there, he checked his texts to see that Chinese Eric was already there. The difference between us and my parents: We don't say anything about Chinese Eric waiting for us at a table already, with his back turned to the door!
We discussed CASTLEVANIA, BATMAN, MARIO movies, Wally Buono / Alzheimers vs. Parkinson's, Travis Lulay, some player named Jonathan, my new glasses, catching up on Facebook, the Canucks, pre-season news, new third jerseys for the Canes / Islanders / Flyers, my new computer, Chinese Eric's helping Jon to move a bit of stuff the other day since he actually took work off for his birthday for the first time in four years. Also discussed "interesting" stories of white Eric's work (that wouldn't be a good thing when it comes to fire alarms and stuff!), the Art Gallery, eating calamari / salt and pepper chicken wings / a large Meateor pizza for the price of a Medium (Chinese Eric took the leftover pizza slices home by default), white Eric paying for everything with his credit card (but I gave him $20 for my portion, which he was fine with), replays, touchdowns, and field goals. When Eric drove me home at 4:15 after the Lions lost, I asked if he could figure out the printer while he was here. Yes, the parking pass / parking permit system is annoying! He got things working, tested things out, and left at 4:50 after I thanked him. No chocolate needed this time! Maybe I'll see him again before my birthday dinner, but who knows? The hot water still isn't back on - THE COLD WATER IS SO FREEZING!

HA! I got home at 3:30 on another 407.

Since I was up at 8 AM today, it was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT! I went out at 10:25 on a 407 and was finally able to make it to the Dollar Tree and Big Crazy today on a 403 from Brighouse before it got TOO hot outside! I got a can of Success mushroom pieces, Knorr mashed potatoes in chicken gravy, and Knorr mashed potatoes in beef gravy. (I had to check if I could microwave them first, of course!) I'm thankful to have the option again to purchase frozen food again: pork and tri-treasure x2 / lamb and onion / pork and chives JOY DUMPLINGS from Big Crazy! Inspired by CuyaDK, I also got some Samyang 2x Spicy Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen x4 at Big Crazy, plus Knorr hot and sour soup mix x3 since I was there anyway. I got home at 11:35 on a 407 from London Drugs, which is good. I think I'll wait on ice cream, since I don't care much for the prices or sizes for HƤagen-Dazs at London Drugs right now. Of course, I might also change my mind on that, haha.
