There was an unexpected water shutoff today! Of course Amacon posted a notice at the front door to let people know... come on! Not everyone leaves their apartment once a day! UGH! I briefly called Chrystal at work at 4 to wish her a happy belated birthday since she'd been off last week. She thanked me and said she appreciated it. The water was FINALLY back on at 5:45, NOT 1 PM as stated in the notice! Geez.

2018 Year In Review!

THIS ENTRY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE NON-ALIGNED TAGS.

[Meme fun: Take the first line from the first post of every month of the year. Repost it here as your year in review. (I'm discounting greetings and things like that :P) Yeah, it's been an interesting year!]

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of the year. Post the first line of it in your journal as a paragraph, and that's your "Year In Review."

I got a baby girl card for Jason and Vanessa ("KEEP CALM AND CARRY BABY WIPES"), NEW Shasha organic ginger snaps for Vanessa (no sugar?!), 200g of on-sale Ferrero Rocher, 100 store brand bandages, a NEW Carnation variety pack of hot chocolate (TURTLES Canada / Coffee Crisp / After Eight), and NEW Lipton Chicken Noodle Supreme soup from London Drugs, which has just started charging for plastic bags. SO MUCH ON-SALE BLACK PEPPER SALMON JERKY FOR ME AND JIMMY AND JULIE, OH MY! I called Barry at 8:35 AM to tell him about the mouse on the glue trap which I discovered last night. The computer restarted at 6 AM! I called Barry at 9:40 this morning to remind him about going to Rona for a Victor Pest Chaser Ultrasonic Rodent Repeller, which cost $33. I went to the pharmacy next door at 1:50 to refill my prescription early; yes, even Adam commented on it!

I left at 5:55 to get two 3-subject Hilroy notebooks in green and light blue (for home use and road use) from London Drugs, returning home at 6:40 on a late 407. CHOCOLATE AND BATHROOM REPLACEMENTS GALORE AGAIN, and today's date is a palindrome: 8/1/18! Yesterday, Frances C. emailed me to say that she couldn't make it to Felico's because of work, which is fine. I went out at 12 on a 401 so I could buy Campbell's Chunky Soup (Jerk Chicken with Vegetables / Butter Chicken with Vegetables), NESCAFÉ instant coffee (December 16, 2017), a NEW on-sale limited edition Oh Henry! Canada / Oh Henry 4:25 Pop-Up candy bar, barkTHINS snacking dark chocolate with pumpkin seeds for Thanksgiving dinner, NEW limited edition Doritos Late Night Fully-Loaded Nacho chips, and HALLS assorted mint cough drops. I went out at 12:20 on a 414 to do some shopping for on-sale Halloween candy and Advent calendars. COFFEE TIME while I'm still figuring out why Jimmy blocked me instead of just talking to me about what I did...... I should have posed it as a hypothetical a while ago!
glowing_dragon: (Bert and Ernie)
I managed to take out the old "computer" chair (lots of exposed foam inside) and throw it in the dumpster. Not sorry, Hester! I have a kitchen chair as backup! It's my minor act of rebellion, muhahahaha!

After COFFEE TIME, I left at 2 to catch the C94 for my appointment with Rachel at The Caring Place. Afterwards, I took the 410 to Big Crazy so I could spend $35 on Knorr (extra) hot and sour soup x5 which expires in late January 2019, a slightly smaller 30-centimeter silver metal colander to replace the too-big metallic one from March 2018, a matching metallic silver mixing bowl to replace the pink plastic bowl with pink colander from Mom in April 2014, a premium Shin Ramyun Black spicy Pot-Au-Feu noodle pack, and Sapporo Ichiban chicken noodles. Nothing that would melt in the hot weather - I also just managed to get the 410 after leaving the store - NICE! Then when I got home at 4:15 on a 401 (just managing to get the bus), I washed the bowls and put rubbing alcohol in them to take the stickers off after throwing away the old bowl and colander in the dumpster.

From Julie: Tybreia?!

From Julie: Tybreia's sister is named Arissa?! Is that like Marissa, but with a missing letter? BAD SPELLING!

Daniel and Henrik Sedin are retiring from hockey next week?!

Thank you, Daniel and Henrik. #22 and #33 are forever Canucks!

From Someecards: Creepy Easter Bunny 45!

From Julie M. and JUDGE JUDY: Myline Berrios?! I once knew a girl in Palmer named Mylene Giroux, but spelling it "Myline" makes me want to call this person "My line."

glowing_dragon: (Crazy-Eyed Bear)
HAPPY EASTER! It's also April Fools Day today - BOO!

The computer restarted at 6 AM! I went out to Shoppers Drug Mart at 1:20 on a 407, and bought on-sale Marketplace Cuisine meals (Butternut Squash Ravioli / Tortilla Crusted Fish / Vermont white macaroni and cheese / Sesame Chicken), on-sale canola oil, on-sale President's Choice milk chocolate eggs for Chrystal. Then I went to London Drugs for Easter chocolate which was more to my taste: on-sale Russell Stover chocolate bunnies (marshmallow / peanut butter / crispy), an on-sale Ferrero Rocher chocolate squirrel, an on-sale Aero chocolate lamb, an on-sale Smarties chocolate egg, on-sale M&M peanut butter chocolate eggs, on-sale Reese's mini peanut butter cups, and Lindt chocolate carrots! Got home at 2:20 on another 407 in the windy weather, so had some hot chocolate while throwing things away and cutting the tops off the PEPPA PIG sticker sheets for Fraser so they could actually fit in a fucking envelope.

CHOCOLATE AND MICROWAVE MEALS! )

From Someecards: Creepy Easter Bunny 44!

I sent a birthday card and some salmon jerky to Julie for her birthday, and she got it on Wednesday! Cat: "Is there an F in PRESENT?" Inside: "No, there is no F in PRESENT!" That's a lie, but whatever! :D

From Julie M. and JUDGE JUDY: Lluvia Waggoner?! Isn't that like an actual Spanish word?!

From Julie: Kevin Duck?! Reminds me of Rick Duck from that EEA program back in 1997.

glowing_dragon: (Vancouver Canucks hockey!)
COFFEE TIME! Dawn's friend Terry Cheng added me to Facebook, saying that we'd attended Palmer and McNair together - okay, I can definitely go with that! The Canucks played the Blue Jackets at 1 today, and won 5-4 in overtime despite Columbus scoring three times in the last four minutes of regulation. Thatcher Demko got his first NHL win!

From Someecards: Creepy Easter Bunny 43!

From Julie M. and JUDGE JUDY: Jereme Walker?! Makes me want to pronounce it "Je-REM." That's a bad spelling of JEREMY!

glowing_dragon: (Poop)
It's Good Friday today! That always makes me think of the time when my siblings and I were joking around about it being Good Friday the 13th, and Dad didn't like it much - OH WELL. :D

My ex-friend Daniel M. sent this to me last year: Good Friday the 13th with Jesus AND Jason Voorhees! GENIUS!

From Someecards: Creepy Easter Bunny 42!

From Julie: Daxten?! I think Hattie is fine, though.

glowing_dragon: (Cherry Cheesecake or Pie)
At 11:10, I called Chrystal at work to see if we could set up a hangout time. Next Friday (the 6th) at 7:30 works for me! Then I went to Richmond Centre at 1 on a 407 to Kam Do Bakery for a slice of black forest cake, since it's National Black Forest Cake Day today. My next stop was Big Orange so I could get some mango bubble tea. Then I went to Payless Shoes so I could get NEW SNEAKERS because my current ones ALWAYS come untied, and it's very annoying! I also went to the dollar store, where I found FINDING NEMO and PEPPA PIG stickers: perfect for Fraser! Also bought a Canada shotglass, a Canucks decal, and a Canadian beaver magnet for souvenir purposes when Jimmy comes to Vancouver sometime. After getting off a 407 at 2:05, I went to the pharmacy next door to get my prescription. I was the youngest customer in there by at least 30 to 35 years!

Latte art: A dragon!

From Come Up With Your Own Caption: Brace yourself. The "Happy Easter" posts are coming. (this reminds me of Siobhan, who would deactivate her Facebook every Easter without fail since she couldn't deal with Easter for "religious" reasons because she was a witch / pagan...)

2017 Year In Review!

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of the year. Post the first line of it in your journal as a paragraph, and that's your "Year In Review."

I was going to go out today, but there's still too much snow around Richmond! I went out at 4:25 to do some shopping at London Drugs: lots of chips! I dreamed that a bunch of us were going around in mine carts to see Vernon and Joe Yu. Steph sent me an email saying that Fraser was playing with his toy phone at 7:30 their time; she asked who he wanted to call, and he said "A-ma"... CUTE! At 12:35, I called Chrystal to see when a good time would be for us to get together this month. I went out at 2:40 to get more on-sale President's Choice Blue Menu Six Bean Medley cans at Shoppers Drug Mart as long as they're still 99 cents!

I went out at 2:30 to catch the next 401 and hopefully check out the Steveston Salmon Festival / Richmond all-day street party at Steveston Village. I went out at 1:10 to London Drugs so I could mail a card and stickers to Fraser EARLY for his second birthday, and bought a small Jersey Milk chocolate bar / Ragusa Noir dark chocolate bars x2 for me and Eric Ho / on-sale Lindt Fudge Swirl chocolate truffles. I went out to Richmond Centre at 11:30 to see if I could get relatively inexpensive new shoes from Payless. I tried opening an Arm and Hammer toothpaste tube today, and it COULD NOT BE OPENED, so I threw it out! I went shopping at 3:55 today after COFFEE TIME: I was planning to get a sandwich, discount Halloween chocolate, and some sensitive toothpaste. I went shopping at 4:15 in the rainy weather on a 401 today at London Drugs for a 4th birthday card for Hiero (cupcakes!), on-sale Arm and Hammer laundry detergent (a 50-load bottle!), 200 index cards, and some big Ziploc bags x2 for a total of 40.

WTF church sign from the Kingsley Lake Baptist Church: Easter comes once a year. How often do you?

A Twitch streamer I follow (Highspirits) is doing a United States road trip from Florida to Seattle, and one of his friends lives near a Death Valley Road in what he describes as "the middle of nowhere in West Virginia." I requested a photo, and got one! Using Google after I finally read his Pastebin account of the trip so far, I have figured out that this particular road sign is located in Ridgeley, West Virginia.

Jason's birthday is April 1. After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 5 to meet Vanessa and Jason at Joyce Station by 6:30, I brought the peanut butter / peppermint Whittakers chocolate bars, the carrot cake Hershey's Kisses, and the birthday cards! I just managed to get the 407, just missed a Canada Line train, and just missed a 41 Joyce bus! Oh, the humanity! Vanessa and her work friend Elizabeth were still waiting for me, while Jason was parked down the road a bit. When Vanessa gave me the Bath and Body Works White Citrus foaming hand soap, Bath and Body Works Peach Bellini foaming hand soap, and Bath and Body Works Fresh Market Apple foaming hand soap, I gave her all the chocolate and stuff before I forgot. She said that she might be able to get me a ride to Richmond with her friends Wayne and Shelina, which was fine by me. I also met her friends Elizabeth, Chad (who's a smoker), and Jen. We talked about work, the hour-long lineup to get into Anton's, Wayne and Shelina (who are FWB) being extremely late (WE DON'T WANT TO KNOW ABOUT A VIAGRA / CIALIS MOMENT, JASON!), beer, picture frames, newspaper routes, Shelina's clingy ten-year-old son, my aspirin, Jason's back pain, Elizabeth being a registered Shiatsu massage therapist, gay Patrick, going downtown, my spicy Fusilli New Orleans pasta with shrimp / scallops / chicken / Italian sausage, Jen living near Boundary, Shelina somehow spelling "Hastings" with an M, Shelina being Native and being from Victoria (but her parents now live on a reserve near Agassiz), emulators, MAME and arcade games, directions, tiramisu cake, and Easter weekend plans. It was a good time out, but now I'm ready to relax!
