I called Chrystal at work at 1:30, but she wanted to reschedule for next Friday (March 22), which was fine by me. Work is kicking her ass, and Monday to Thursdays aren't that great for her in terms of dinners these days. She thanked me for being flexible and was apologetic, so that was totally fine. I need a day of downtime after the weekend and mental stress!

It's MARIO DAY today! I had to leave really early after DOUBLE COFFEE TIME because I had to walk to Brighouse station - thanks, endless sewer upgrades and construction! I had the on-sale Lindt chocolate bars (Caramel and Sea Salt / Lime Zest) for Harmony's EARLY family birthday dinner at Como Taperia! (early in more ways than one...) I killed time by purchasing a replacement red sweatshirt at H and M, where I also saw a DRAGON HOODIE! :D

We had a bunch of seafood and tapas (octopus / garlic and bread soup / (mashed) potatoes / eggs) while baby Beckett screamed happily at me (rivaling the restaurant's 80s music), Ayler wanted to check the weather everywhere, and Hiero liked constructing Cheerio towers through his toothpicks. After dinner, Hiero said he wasn't tired despite losing an hour of sleep - good for you! I AM! Mom said she had to pay more money to prevent me from accessing data, and that the dinner was $168; if you think I feel guilty about that, YOU'RE WRONG! Then we had to go to Auntie Eva's to drop something off before the parental trip to Hong Kong to see Great-Aunt and cruise around. At least they'll be away from Wednesday to the end of March! I finally got home at 6:45!

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: A black buttoned Louben jacket, a light blue Vancouver 2010 zippered jacket, an orange Top Shop sleeveless vest. preserved Young Coconut cookies, a blue buttoned jacket, a white Monument sweater vest, and a reddish-purple London Fog winter coat.

Yesterday, I called Chinese Eric to see if he could give me a ride to Jeremy's or back home. He called me back on his lunch break (at 1:20 BEFORE I left to see Rachel), and he was planning to take transit to work at the Art Gallery and then go straight to Jeremy's. I hoped Kevin could drive me to Broadway Station again since white Eric can't make it because of his hockey commitments! I had to leave really early for Jeremy's place because I had to walk to Brighouse station - thanks, endless sewer upgrades and construction! Luckily, I found an in-service bus stop at Alderbridge, so I killed time at Shoppers, buying Korean BBQ Kettle Chips x3 and some Nair. FUCKING JIMMY! Got to Dude Chilling Park at 6:10, which was slightly early. Kingsgate Mall was closing, too.

I met up with Jeremy (so we could all see his new flooring / baseboards and test some marbles on it), Christon, Kevin, Chinese Eric, and Randal. Christon made some pulled pork, chicken and coleslaw. We had my Indomie Mi Goreng chips / various beers (like the cocoa / vanilla Winter Ale) / salsa / Que Pasa chips, called Eric Ho to see where he was, figured out the long wifi password (which Jeremy didn't think much of at first - but then realized he'd never seen me with a smartphone before), discussed my eye surgeries and Jeremy's nose surgery / Huawei / the Rugby Sevens / Uniqlo / Muji / Daiso / real estate / wedding planning / people with 4400 to 5000 Facebook friends, the Lucky Charms Saturday Morning beer for St. Patrick's Day, and waited for Jon to get there even later. I wanted to go home at 10, but nope - I had to wait for 45 more minutes, despite Chinese Eric wanting to head home right after the game ended at 9:30!

Jeremy loved the blurb for the Lucky Charms beer and laughed at it, at least! Kevin did indeed drive me to Broadway Station, while Jon and Chinese Eric got rides back home from Randal. Yeah, that wasn't too bad. I ended up getting home at around midnight on a 401 (passing up a 407 at Brighouse), and was surprised that I was still somewhat awake, since I'd gone to bed at 9:45 yesterday. I did make myself some hot chocolate to warm up from the cold weather. The Canucks played the Knights at 7 tonight, and lost 6-2. Not good if it was 5-1 at the end of the first... 3-0 after the first twelve minutes!

I discovered that Connie Su had unfriended me on Facebook - okay, then! Those VCEFC and Daniel Fellowship days were a long time ago, but still?! Chrissy just got banned for a month, not unfriended me. Phew! I called Chrystal at work at 11:05 to set up a get-together at the usual place, and March 11 (a Monday) seems to be a good date from a hockey schedule perspective and her own schedule - yay!

After COFFEE TIME, Barry called me at 11:50 to see if I could change our food shopping appointment next week from Wednesday to Thursday, which I had no problem with. I left at 12:25 to get to the Burrard eye clinic for my appointment with Dr. Wise for a one-week followup, even if the construction zone around here is annoying. Still got off at Yaletown-Roundhouse and was in time to catch the 6 Davie in the land of the pink bus stops, which is what I know now. I got there at 1:05, but that was fine. The doctor says my eyes still look healthy and are improving, that I can't dislodge the cataract lens even if I tried, and that I could throw out the antibiotic with zero refills, which was fine by me. She says there is no need to rush to get newer glasses because my prescription is not fully formed yet - apparently, a bunch of people DO waste their money and do just that. My next appointment is the six-week followup on Feb. 27 (a Wednesday) at 2:15, which works for me.

Later, I took the opportunity to play with the Shaw wi-fi while I was still at the clinic office, then decided to do my shopping in Vancouver. I should have done it in Richmond or on Broadway to save some time, since some asshole decided to hit me up for some Canadian coins outside Vancouver City Centre under the guise of "a dumb American question" while I was looking at a map. I went to the London Drugs right there to get Scotch Expressions orange masking tape x2 and red $2 MARTEX washcloths x2. They didn't have any duct tape, so I asked an employee where the nearest Staples was - near Burrard Station, which wasn't too far away.

Thanks to the aforementioned asshole, I got three blocks to Burrard Station which was very near the Staples at 1055 West Georgia. I eventually managed to find the entrance, and had to walk a bit to get into the actual store. I bought Z-Grip Pens x60 (June 24, 2018) and black duct tape, temporarily walked in the wrong direction, and eventually got home at 4 on a 407. No more two-hour service gap at Brighouse!

Deb emailed me again at 6:15 to ask how the appointment had gone, and to wonder if I'd seen Declan's orange Beyblade Pokemon stadium and toys. Nope, but it could be anywhere in that alcove or townhouse by now! Someone named Emily Harris added me to Facebook - possibly Kurt's girlfriend, but she never responded to my message asking who she was. What the heck?! Then I noticed that Emilie Mak unfriended me, but that's fine - I only knew her as an Awana kid from 2007!

2018 Year In Review!

THIS ENTRY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE NON-ALIGNED TAGS.

[Meme fun: Take the first line from the first post of every month of the year. Repost it here as your year in review. (I'm discounting greetings and things like that :P) Yeah, it's been an interesting year!]

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of the year. Post the first line of it in your journal as a paragraph, and that's your "Year In Review."

I got a baby girl card for Jason and Vanessa ("KEEP CALM AND CARRY BABY WIPES"), NEW Shasha organic ginger snaps for Vanessa (no sugar?!), 200g of on-sale Ferrero Rocher, 100 store brand bandages, a NEW Carnation variety pack of hot chocolate (TURTLES Canada / Coffee Crisp / After Eight), and NEW Lipton Chicken Noodle Supreme soup from London Drugs, which has just started charging for plastic bags. SO MUCH ON-SALE BLACK PEPPER SALMON JERKY FOR ME AND JIMMY AND JULIE, OH MY! I called Barry at 8:35 AM to tell him about the mouse on the glue trap which I discovered last night. The computer restarted at 6 AM! I called Barry at 9:40 this morning to remind him about going to Rona for a Victor Pest Chaser Ultrasonic Rodent Repeller, which cost $33. I went to the pharmacy next door at 1:50 to refill my prescription early; yes, even Adam commented on it!

I left at 5:55 to get two 3-subject Hilroy notebooks in green and light blue (for home use and road use) from London Drugs, returning home at 6:40 on a late 407. CHOCOLATE AND BATHROOM REPLACEMENTS GALORE AGAIN, and today's date is a palindrome: 8/1/18! Yesterday, Frances C. emailed me to say that she couldn't make it to Felico's because of work, which is fine. I went out at 12 on a 401 so I could buy Campbell's Chunky Soup (Jerk Chicken with Vegetables / Butter Chicken with Vegetables), NESCAFÉ instant coffee (December 16, 2017), a NEW on-sale limited edition Oh Henry! Canada / Oh Henry 4:25 Pop-Up candy bar, barkTHINS snacking dark chocolate with pumpkin seeds for Thanksgiving dinner, NEW limited edition Doritos Late Night Fully-Loaded Nacho chips, and HALLS assorted mint cough drops. I went out at 12:20 on a 414 to do some shopping for on-sale Halloween candy and Advent calendars. COFFEE TIME while I'm still figuring out why Jimmy blocked me instead of just talking to me about what I did...... I should have posed it as a hypothetical a while ago!

After MORE COFFEE TIME, I left just before 4:30 to make it to Wo's: A family dinner for Dad's 69th birthday! Of course I was the first one there! (and I saw Mr. Creep on the bus AGAIN...) Harmony set a new record in convincing the Wo's owner to turn off the TV, which was tuned to the Cartoon Network: SEVEN MINUTES! We talked about strata meetings, moving on Thursday, Burnaby, the lards' car leaking oil, Uncle William, plans for this week, the farmer's market, snacks, dessert, finding my Fit-Overs (which I just found within two minutes of looking for them), Beckett sleeping, Ayler and Hiero asking about candy and the time, me being drunk / red-faced / snorty / giggly on the beer which Jon bought, and Quality Street chocolates. I got home at 8 on a 407, no thanks to just missing the previous 407 at Brighouse! Mom thought I needed to be told to look both ways before crossing the street at Marine Drive Station - I wasn't THAT drunk! Jon wants me to come over on Tuesday for dinner help - after Rachel, for sure.

Dinner: Steamed chicken, sweet and sour pork, green beans and ground beef, cod fish, tofu cakes, corn soup, lamb, Bring-Your-Own-Beer (Andina Guava Saison 6.5%), rice, and tea!

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: Instant oxtail soup mix x3 (expiry date: July 18, 2019) / a triple-zippered leopard print Sport Sport wallet / chicken noodle Lipton Cup-A-Soup which expired on June 13, 2014 / spring vegetable Lipton Cup-A-Soup which expired on May 30, 2013 / spring vegetable Lipton Cup-A-Soup which expired on February 9, 2012 / a nearly full bag of McCormicks cinnamon hearts / a bag of Nosh and Co. Munch Madness lightly salted potato chips which expires on March 10, 2019 / AN HONEST DAY'S WORK white mug / two brown flowery very thin neck wraps / a pair of black knee socks / Organics honey and ginger green tea x7 / Twinings Earl Grey bergamot tea / Bigelow Cozy Chamomile herbal tea / Lipton Spiced Chai black tea / dinner leftovers / $5 cash.

2017 Year In Review!

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of the year. Post the first line of it in your journal as a paragraph, and that's your "Year In Review."

I was going to go out today, but there's still too much snow around Richmond! I went out at 4:25 to do some shopping at London Drugs: lots of chips! I dreamed that a bunch of us were going around in mine carts to see Vernon and Joe Yu. Steph sent me an email saying that Fraser was playing with his toy phone at 7:30 their time; she asked who he wanted to call, and he said "A-ma"... CUTE! At 12:35, I called Chrystal to see when a good time would be for us to get together this month. I went out at 2:40 to get more on-sale President's Choice Blue Menu Six Bean Medley cans at Shoppers Drug Mart as long as they're still 99 cents!

I went out at 2:30 to catch the next 401 and hopefully check out the Steveston Salmon Festival / Richmond all-day street party at Steveston Village. I went out at 1:10 to London Drugs so I could mail a card and stickers to Fraser EARLY for his second birthday, and bought a small Jersey Milk chocolate bar / Ragusa Noir dark chocolate bars x2 for me and Eric Ho / on-sale Lindt Fudge Swirl chocolate truffles. I went out to Richmond Centre at 11:30 to see if I could get relatively inexpensive new shoes from Payless. I tried opening an Arm and Hammer toothpaste tube today, and it COULD NOT BE OPENED, so I threw it out! I went shopping at 3:55 today after COFFEE TIME: I was planning to get a sandwich, discount Halloween chocolate, and some sensitive toothpaste. I went shopping at 4:15 in the rainy weather on a 401 today at London Drugs for a 4th birthday card for Hiero (cupcakes!), on-sale Arm and Hammer laundry detergent (a 50-load bottle!), 200 index cards, and some big Ziploc bags x2 for a total of 40.

I went out at 4 on a 407 to the Bay, but all their garbage cans were very expensive. It was off across the street to London Drugs: a big reusable bag, a replacement Sterilite garbage can, on-sale Moritz Icy Squares, on-sale Lindt Peppermint Cookie chocolate truffles, and Waterbridge Connoisseur brandy beans! Got home at 4:55 on a 407, which is MUCH better than last night!

Lindt Peppermint Cookie chocolate truffles!

From Amanda: The Googly Gooeys! Attempts to Sleep! On certain nights, it's so easy to fall asleep. However, on most nights... "3267, 3268, 3269, 3270 sheep..." "What's that noise?!" "Darn it. I think I'm hungry." "... but I don't want to brush my teeth again." "Fine. I'll go grab some cookies." "It's so dark and scary out here." "I'll watch TV until I fall asleep!" "I'm still not sleepy. What's wrong with me?" "This is it! I'm gonna try to sleep." "Grrr... when will my brain ever shut up?!"

The Canucks played Pittsburgh at 7 last night, and I later found out that they won 4-2. I left at 8:25 in order to get the bus on time to make the trek to the Shark Club, which Sabrina said was right across the street from Stadium-Chinatown Skytrain station. Her idea of "right across the street" must be different than mine because I had to walk a couple of blocks from the station. I couldn't even get into the Shark Club when I finally got there since they were at capacity because of a UFC fight. I saw plenty of people from a BC Lions game and the Canucks game, but not the people I was looking for. I went back in again a while later, and heard my name being called. It was Brad, whom I at least know if not like a lot, so that was a relief anyway. He hadn't seen Kathy or Aaron, but soon got a message saying they'd just got to Stadium. I was fine with following everyone inside when they got there, and of course Eve and John were there already! I could have gone in there beforehand, but didn't want to go against the bouncer's wishes.

Plenty of hugging, some photos, "I love you," and yelling to be heard over everything else! I got a Long Island Iced Tea on Eve's account (ASIAN RED-FACE GENE!), but it later turned out that Brad paid for the entire table anyway. Kathy and Aaron left for some reason, maybe having to do with this (homeless?) guy named Sebastian that was with them. John SPILLED Brad's red wine all over me by accident, so Eve took me to the washroom area and blotched it with cold water. She said to soak it in lukewarm water to get the tannin out when I got home, but I didn't trust that, so did it with cold water instead. Talked about Burnaby, having a phone, addresses, Tammy Milosh the bitch, "you and Brad should date!" (no!), his usage of "cunt," my not leaving CRIMINALS, and a plastic bag for my soaked item. I finally left after midnight, got confused as to where I was going (left and right and up and down were not right in my head), actually went on the Georgia Viaduct, and finally got weird directions from a Hagelin fan, and real directions from the bouncer at the door. Luckily, I got what was probably the last train to Waterfront from Stadium, the last Brighouse train from Waterfront, and the last 401 bus from Brighouse after a cold wait. Thank goodness for winter clothing!

I got home just before the time change at 1:55 AM, soaked my sweater / jersey / pants in the tub, then went to bed soon afterwards. Today, I definitely did my laundry (one load on the second floor - one load on the third floor), and the jersey was fine after washing! Not sure whether it was the water treatment, the white vinegar, or the stain-lifting technology of my laundry detergent - I'm glad, anyway! I can live with 10-ish blotches around the logo, I guess. Talked to CANUCK NATION about this stuff, of course. The lid of the Touch Top garbage can in the bathroom broke off, and I was going to get a new one anyway since it won't fit... so off I go again!

These cheddar jalapeno Cheetos aren't Doritos! YOU HAD ONE JOB!

glowing_dragon: (No Netspeak!)
Sabrina said that the Shark Club is across the street from Stadium Skytrain station (and should be busy after the game), said that there wasn't any snow where she was, and then said that she was staying home because of her dog's health. Very understandable! I appreciated what she said, of course. If I can meet Kathy and Aaron as well as John and Eve, that will be great!

FINAL FANTASY V SPOOF Bestiary!

THIS ENTRY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE NON-ALIGNED TAGS.

This is the complete bestiary for FINAL FANTASY 5 SPOOF, and all screenshots are from my own playthrough. I'd like to say that this GameFAQs bestiary document helped me a lot; thank you! (as did this one, for more precise directions in certain places) Also, this walkthrough helped me a lot, too! Actually, I was tired of suffering through emulator slowness and game glitches x8, so input a code for a 100% complete Bestiary. These maps will help, since the world map DOESN'T FUCKING WORK IN THIS GAME!

This is a good RPG Classics page for Pro Action Replay codes!

CHECK THE MAP WITH THE Y BUTTON, NOT THE R BUTTON!

Fire-Powered Ship puzzle directions.

Notes to self: Activate the All Characters Have All Abilities code, and then TAKE IT OFF, or else the game will get incredibly frustratingly SLOW. Also, take all codes off before going to the Big Bridge, or attempting to find the Phantom Village! VISHNU VEST EQUIPMENT! Speaking of equipment, EQUIP KRILE WHEN SHE JOINS THE PARTY AFTER GALUF'S DEATH! As far as codes go, the "have 99 of all items" code makes the game freeze and have sound issues!

After much frustration over three hours, I managed to defeat Omega by using the power of Mirage Vests (IMAGE STATUS) / Coral Rings (fire protection), and a pre-emptive strike! I used it to power up my blades with Thundaga Spellblade, then used Rapid-Fire on Faris... I think it was a fluke!

Also, to reset the breath timer in the sunken tower of Walse, climb up the fourth floor vine to get to that chest! I finally actually defeated Famed Mimic Gogo at the bottom of the sunken Tower of Walse by using the Dragoon / Dual-Wield x4 strategy! It was pretty tricky since I wasn't sure that all my characters would survive at least five Meteor attacks, but two of them did! Got garbled text as part of the bugged fight, too... "Dragged into another dimension! Odin: All right, that's far enough! Turning to stone... Can't escape! Countdown to Pestilence... 4 KO'd! Countdown to Eruption... 5 KO'd! Level halved! KO'd!":D

To get the Drakenvale Golem in the Bestiary, defeat the dragons first and THEN defend until he thanks you!

Stick "READ AHEAD" on a character other than Lenna! To prevent having to input all the codes over and over again, SAVE / remove all codes / then close and reopen the emulator! They should all still be there!

For the Moogle in the Forest of Moore to move after the trees have been set on fire by Tzepish, save the game in the cave and then reset. The creature should NOT be blocking the entrance.

Airship in World 3: It's just above Surgate Castle, east of the Pyramid.

DO NOT SET ANY "No Random Encounters" CODE! IT WILL GLITCH OUT THE GAME! (submarine / world map won't work, and there WILL be no random encounters)

TRY DEFEATING NEO SHINRYU FIRST BEFORE OMEGA MK. II - or else you can't get out of the room for some reason! (the exit door SHOULD be open, but is shut tight instead!)
