A handyman came by unexpectedly at 12:30 with caulk to spackle my bathroom walls, which I'd mentioned to Hester last week. He also had noticed my shower tile apparently "needed" to be repaired too, which was fine by me, and he left by 1.

Auntie Catherine finally got back to me via email, wished me a happy belated birthday, and said we could get together on the 24th. Ha, that's not going to work because of my doctor's appointment! I'm not going to go to Vancouver, back to Richmond, and then back to Vancouver within four and a half hours! She wants to go to the Gloucester Café, but at least I can probably take the 15 Olympic Village instead of walking down seven blocks from King Edward station unless I think I need the exercise before or afterwards.

Nick flaked out on me at 5:15 because he didn't want to go to Richmond since he's hungover and depressed and can't deal with small talk. REALLY? Flaps had a good reason: wisdom tooth removal today, which I was understanding about when he let me know yesterday. Darryl would just be all drained, which I totally understand, especially after Christon's wedding!

Then Dylan and Deb called me at 6:15 to say they were stuck in Coquitlam with the kids because traffic was blocked off everywhere, so they can't make it either. At least THEY offered to make it up to me with a meal at their place or elsewhere, so we can start the planning for that soon - not a big deal! They told Declan to wish me a happy birthday, which he did. Then Billie flaked out when she was supposed to be there, achieving Maximum Flake Level - DO YOU REALLY NEED TO DO THAT AT THE LAST MINUTE?! The Canucks played Los Angeles tonight at 6 in Salt Lake City in Preseason Game #5, and lost 7-5.

Hester's husband Ni came by with someone from head office at 9:15 AM for a brief suite inspection today. His apologizing for bothering me was a first! Later, the Panasonic inverter microwave gave me an H97 error, which will cost $250 to $400 to fix. It's cheaper just to buy a new microwave starting from $80 or so! I called Barry about this, who agreed to help me pick up a new microwave next time.

Then Paulo came over at 4:30 to pick up Knorr hot and sour soup mix, Nissin sesame oil noodles to go with it, Koka Tomato noodles, Koka spicy black pepper noodles, Samyang Jjajang spicy Korean bean sauce noodles (chicken bomb terrorist noodles!), Maggi Letup Curry Kari Cili Api noodles, Penang white Curry Mee noodles, and Paldo spicy cheese Ramyun noodles. He also helped me with that stopgap Danby Designers 700-watt microwave after I cleaned the counter with a sponge. Surprisingly, it wasn't icky afterwards! I'll have to figure out how to get the Panasonic microwave to the electronics recycling depot. Pothead Mike thinks Mike is dead and is trying to reach out to me - HA HA HA!


Tried to cook some Delissio calzones in the microwave for lunch at 1:10. Got the dreaded H97 error instead! It had been smoking while cooking for a few days before this... good thing I didn't start a fire! My ex Mike's mom Vivian's boyfriend Robert bought it for me, so I guess it's fitting that the microwave gave up the ghost on what would have been our sixth anniversary.
