I went out at 11:55 to go to Canadian Tire so I could get another Starfrit jar opener (Aisle 54 - had to get an employee to help me grab it) and 20 face masks for $20. I always overshoot the 410 station - I SHOULD GET OFF AT ABERDEEN, NOT HAZELBRIDGE! I texted Barry about payday, and he called me when I was outside Canadian Tire - yeah, I thought I'd have to do it myself again! Then I peeked inside Yaohan - there was a lineup either for Osaka Supermarket or a temperature check service. My last stop was London Drugs: All Clean Natural lemon-mint spray hand sanitizer x2 (no limit), Scrubbing Bubbles, London Naturals orange cleaner, NEW Microban 24-Hour bathroom spray x2 in Fresh and Citrus scents, and portable Wet Ones x2. Got home at 2:10 on a 407, too.

Got home at 4:25 on a 407, which is fine - I definitely wiped down a bunch of stuff, including the stuffed toy.

After FINALLY finding my Press-It-Seal-It envelopes in a Snapware container and then putting them in the index cards bag, I went to the pharmacy next door at 2 to get some new Tylenol Extra Strength Complete Cold, Cough, and Flu - my existing box expired last month (September 2019), but it was the only thing I had last night, and it seemed to be okay to take when I looked it up online. Shouldn't have lost too much potency! They had a new trainee there, but Adam helped us both - just a packaging change, but the same drug ID number. Then I went to H&M to get a new red sweatshirt for $33 (damn toothpaste stains!), which was fine. I saw ANGEL CHEN sweatshirts for $40, but that was because they had DRAGON STITCHING on the sleeve!

Then I bused to London Drugs (one stop - but I needed the rest) to get on-sale pads x2 / NEW Live Clean foaming hand soap x3 (White Tea Cherry / Vanilla Bean Coconut / Lemon Mint), NEW $2 Weinrich's Porta chocolate bars x4 for Jon's birthday (Peppermint / Raspberry / Blueberry / Strawberry) / Dare Breton Veggie Bites (bite-sized crackers for Beckett!) for Thanksgiving dinner / Kortari kitchen scissors for the desk. Got home at 4:25 on a 407, whereupon I cancelled my appointment with Rishu because I still need to rest.

I slept so much today! Woke up at 9, but had to rest till 10:45. Then I felt a bit under the weather, and had to sleep from 3:10 to 6:05! At least redrum seems to be subsiding for now...

I took in the BO HORVAT CAPTAINCY / 50TH SEASON CEREMONY without any incessant talking, which was a win! The Canucks played the Kings at 7 tonight as a throwback to 1970, and won 8-2! Kirk McLean, Stan Smyl, both Sedins, and Todd Bertuzzi were there, but it was so understandable that Trevor Linden wasn't.

Since I didn't have to help out with the kids today, I stayed home to wallow in redrum unglory, haha. I felt bad because I had genuinely forgotten to give the cleaner a $20 cash tip yesterday (and remembered the time when Eric made us go back to the Pho place next door to church so I could give them a tip for dinner), so after some procrastination, called the EcoClean number given in my text reminder yesterday at 3:55. No, an e-transfer wouldn't work as far as I knew, and neither would a credit card payment on my own non-existent credit card if I didn't want it getting back to my family. The guy said he'd call her and see what she wanted to do.

Someone knocked on my door at 6:30, and it turned out to be the cleaner, who actually lives in Richmond! SHE thought I was paying for the service in cash, and wanted to call her boss, but I clarified. I said that I didn't want her to think that someone deliberately didn't tip her since I definitely wanted to show her some appreciation (especially since she was doing it all by herself), so she thanked me and gave me a big hug after I gave her $20 in cash fresh from my wallet. I should get more envelopes since I have no idea where my other ones are! At least my laundry token seed money of $20 is still intact!

Today is National Dumpling Day! I called Chrystal at work at 11:40 to see if we were still on for tomorrow's Birthday Dinner #3, and WE ARE! The Canucks played Arizona tonight at 7 in Preseason Game #8 (the last one!), and lost 3-2. Deb said that they could take me out to Korean food tomorrow night, but I'm not free due to the aforementioned plans. Next week on the 4th sounds fine, especially since it's a non-hockey night! I also banned someone from the Fearsome hockey group for typing in very mangled English (it would just annoy me even more throughout the year), and making every comment into some kind of slam freeform poetry.

After LAUNDRY TIME (with the elevator STILL out of service...) and COFFEE TIME, I left at 12:15 for my Invisalign appointment, barely managing to get there on time thanks to a wheelchair JUST making me miss a Brighouse train at 12:35. (they're definitely entitled to use the elevators and trains - I might have made it with the time it took to wheel the person in and out...) The technology simulator was pretty cool, at least.

I did see Dad, which is what I'd been expecting, so I briefly discussed it and he said no if the insurance didn't cover it. I got brochures and the health angle, also expected. Once I finally got out of there at about 2, I saw Dad waiting downstairs. He unexpectedly gave me a ride home because it was really raining by then, and said a bunch of stuff about money and exactly why Mom thought finding the grave in Cuba was "urgent." (Steph will go with her in October?!) At least I got home at 2:40 so I could finally eat!

My next dentist appointment is on Jan. 8 at 2 - I had to go home, check the actual Canucks schedule, and then call the office to change it from the 7th at 1. Then I decided to finally call Dr. Ruby's office and found out that they can't just do a six-month referral to the eye clinic over the phone, since I legally have to go to the office to set it up. UGH, FINE! I guess I know what I'm doing on the day before my birthday...

After a shower and some green tea, I decided to go out today at 12:45 on a 401 to redeem my free two-topping individual pizza for my anniversary of signing up for Boston Pizza deals online. I had to fight with the app and the website and typos before I could register MyBP on my phone, and got spicy Italian sausage and cheddar. I did call White Spot at Richmond Centre beforehand to make a reservation for the 15th, but we do NOT need two high chairs! Just the one for Beckett, Mom...

Then I went to London Drugs to find a birthday present for white Eric, but was too focused on the vegan and SALE aspect of the chocolate bars instead of DARK which he can eat. I got NEW on-sale iChoc chocolate bars x4: Almond Orange, Classic, Super Nut, and White Chocolate Vanilla! I'll just switch his chocolate bars with Chinese Eric's dark HEIDI chocolate and Western Family 72% Swiss dark chocolate: no additional trips needed OR additional money spent! None of the chocolate is expired yet, so that's a bonus! I just managed to get the 407, so YAY for bus efficiency and the chocolate NOT melting in the sun! Now it's time to have some coffee ice cream for Coffee Ice Cream Day today!

It's WORLD MUSHROOM DAY today! :D After COFFEE TIME and MUSHROOM SOUP TIME, I went out at 12:25 on a 407 to see Rishu at Touchstone at 1. Then it was off to the Richmond Public Market: Steamed chicken legs, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, fried noodles, and woodear mushrooms! I even laughed maniacally at the exotic meat shop when grabbing a photo of cleaned pork uteri at $8.99 a pound for Mike! HAHAHA! Later, I went to London Drugs to get some NEW on-sale Banana Boat spraying sunscreen (Mist Sport on an orange bottle) and NEW on-sale Rosemary and Jalapeno Triscuits. Got home at 3:50 on a 407, which is fine by me. Also thought of the Cactus Club at Richmond Centre for my birthday.

I went out at 12:15 on a 401 to go to London Drugs and look for 3x5 Mead index cards, since my stock was running low. Turns out I wasn't really running out of them, but whatever. I finally found them at just slightly higher than eye level with the notebooks and papers, and decided to just clear out the entire stock. I did lie to the cashier and said that they were for school, but I couldn't wait for the back-to-school sales (that part is true), hahaha. Got home at 12:50 on a 401 and found two RCMP officers in the hallway! They asked whether I knew my neighbors across the hall, but I politely said no and they went on their way. We wished each other a good day, though.

After COFFEE TIME, a German Shaw technician came by at 11:35 AM with a replacement cable box / new PVR box / new remote control / new modem / advice. (calling my HOME number 15 minutes beforehand to see whether I was home... WHAT DO YOU THINK?!) When he left at 12:15 after also setting up my wi-fi network on my cellphone, I took a much-needed shower and did some much-needed laundry!

In the evening, Dylan came by at 6:55 PM to help me buy a new microwave at London Drugs. He did call me first at 6:25 to advise me that he was at Walmart doing some stuff, then would come by here. We talked about his Great Value red curry chips, Declan and Elysse's swimming lessons, NOT defrosting meat in the microwave because it won't cook evenly and will be all frozen in the middle ("SEE?! NO ONE BELIEVES ME!"), his stressful day at work, parking, and the heavy bulky stuff. Came back home at 7:30 after I selected a new black RCA 1.1 cubic foot microwave oven for $99.99 plus tax (so about $117.60) - yes, that was definitely going on my savings account! Good thing I checked my bank balances BEFORE going out - that Panasonic inverter microwave from Robert was at least twice the price from Robert. I know why Mike insisted on it - because of his own image problems!

Then I heard that the St. Louis Blues had won the 2019 Stanley Cup against the nasty Bruins! Makes me feel better about 2011, for sure! I told Paulo to bookmark these microwave oven cooking conversion charts as well. He was at the gym, but came by at 9:35 to pick up the Danby Designers 700-watt microwave. Yes, having a free backup is nice, but I like to pay favors forward when I can. It just rarely happens in two and a half hours! Like I had thanked Dylan, Paulo thanked me - it's a cycle! :D

Hester's husband Ni came by with someone from head office at 9:15 AM for a brief suite inspection today. His apologizing for bothering me was a first! Later, the Panasonic inverter microwave gave me an H97 error, which will cost $250 to $400 to fix. It's cheaper just to buy a new microwave starting from $80 or so! I called Barry about this, who agreed to help me pick up a new microwave next time.

Then Paulo came over at 4:30 to pick up Knorr hot and sour soup mix, Nissin sesame oil noodles to go with it, Koka Tomato noodles, Koka spicy black pepper noodles, Samyang Jjajang spicy Korean bean sauce noodles (chicken bomb terrorist noodles!), Maggi Letup Curry Kari Cili Api noodles, Penang white Curry Mee noodles, and Paldo spicy cheese Ramyun noodles. He also helped me with that stopgap Danby Designers 700-watt microwave after I cleaned the counter with a sponge. Surprisingly, it wasn't icky afterwards! I'll have to figure out how to get the Panasonic microwave to the electronics recycling depot. Pothead Mike thinks Mike is dead and is trying to reach out to me - HA HA HA!

Tried to cook some Delissio calzones in the microwave for lunch at 1:10. Got the dreaded H97 error instead! It had been smoking while cooking for a few days before this... good thing I didn't start a fire! My ex Mike's mom Vivian's boyfriend Robert bought it for me, so I guess it's fitting that the microwave gave up the ghost on what would have been our sixth anniversary.

I discovered redrum today - UGH! I still decided to go out to Champs since I was looking for cargo shorts, thanks to Hidden One in RedWeird's Discord server. The Champs Sports website I was looking for was American, but as soon as I heard that it was still Buy 1 Get 1 at Richmond Centre, I had to go! Haha. I left at 3, but a full 401 passed us up at 3:10. Luckily, there was a half-empty 401 a minute behind, just as I was texting Paulo to complain! If he wants to come over tomorrow afternoon and pick up that Danby Designers microwave, Knorr hot and sour soup mix, Nissin sesame oil noodles to go with it, Koka Tomato noodles, Koka spicy black pepper noodles, Samyang Jjajang spicy Korean bean sauce noodles (chicken bomb terrorist noodles!), Maggi Letup Curry Kari Cili Api noodles, Penang white Curry Mee noodles, and Paldo spicy cheese Ramyun noodles, he can go ahead!

Cargo shorts are a nice idea in theory, but the button closures are annoying and a dealbreaker for me. So athletic shorts it is... red black Peak shorts and navy blue coach shorts! Even Atmosphere / SportsChek a few steps down didn't have any cargo shorts without button and zipper closures, not that I was expecting them to! I didn't want to waste my time and energy!

Then I got four on-sale Stouffer's FitBowls with Shoppers Optimum points, working out to $1 each! Chicken and Roasted Cashews, Beef and Broccoli, Teriyaki Chicken, and Prime Rib Steak! Got home at 6:10 on a 401, which is fine. A wheelchair and walker took up ALL the disabled seats on one side, and the walker had to get off at Alderbridge. It was fine, though. I had to eat a frozen meal right away because I had no space in the freezer for anything else.

After COFFEE TIME and SHOWER TIME, we learned that Steve had a migraine, so he was out for tonight. Totally understandable! I had to go back to Wireless Wave because I got an error message on my phone when trying to send texts! ("Currently unable to send your message. It will be sent when the service becomes available.") Apparently, that was an inconsequential error, and Walter didn't mind my coming in again. I can just imagine Mom's reaction tomorrow if I told her that he says hi and Happy Anniversary...

Paulo and I just met at Enjoy 1+1 Café instead, near Price Smart. Hong Kong-style café life! I had curry fried noodles (and cold milk tea) and he had curry fried rice. We talked about Darryl, Brian, Holly, Jeremy, the Richmond Night Market, money, Tony, Discord servers, Nate, and our future plans. It was nice and casual, and I got home at 6:10 on a 401. So nice to have those bus stops open again! Turns out he had Dairy Queen later, but it was good for his downtime.
