After COFFEE TIME / SHOWER TIME / CLEANING FRIDGE TIME (yucky sticky prune juice!), I went out at 1:30 on a 401 to finally redeem that Pure Nail Bar gift card from Christmas 2019 for a pedicure before going to help with the kids. I thought I'd be on time, but NO... the 3 bus had to be late, a stroller had no idea what to do on the bus, and then there were traffic delays, causing me to be 10 minutes late! At least they didn't have to call me or anything, and it was just after East 13th! It was pretty relaxing, and I got to choose a nail polish color - Shooting Star silver glitter! They had a fancy nail dryer and a fancy pink toe separator!

After I was done at 3:45, I texted Jon and asked whether he was at the park, then went to Save-On to kill time. I should have gone to the park instead since it took him 20 minutes to get back to me saying they were home now. Fine, sure, I'll walk there - not a big deal, of course. Beckett wanted "Didibug!" which Jon asked about - it made sense, but what was it? Hiero drew me a Bat Signal and a lightning bolt, saying I could keep them in my pocket. I pointed out that it would probably fall out of my pocket, so I'll keep them in my wallet's zippered pouch instead! When I got home, I put the Bat Signal / lightning bolt / Cao Starvingbase Noodle HOO! guy in a Ziploc bag for extra protection.

Ayler was blocking Beckett's access to the piano because Beckett would try to play it, and wanted to know if the real Dean could stay later to play "quiet soccer" while Jon taught his sister Lily. I told Dean that he must be special to Beckett - every time someone comes over, Beckett thinks it's Dean! HAHAHA! "Dean! Dean! Dean!" When Harmony got home, she mentioned she was late because the pipeline protesters had been blocking UBC today - UGH! Then she saw silverfish in the bathroom, in her clothes! YUCK! I told her about the time that I had seen one CRAWLING ON MY COMPUTER DESK in summer 2017 - EW! Beckett wanted to say hi to Kayla, and of course was interested in her guitar and the rest of the students.

Jon gave me a tea rag to wipe Beckett's nose with. He's learned "NO!" and uses it frequently! I watched him knock over Jon's violin while he was teaching Willie, and Jon said "NO, BECKETT." A kid named Ethan came for a piano lesson, and his mom stayed in the room. Beckett was very interested in her phone! Ethan asked what I was doing there, so I said that was a good question - what did HE think? Jon answered when he didn't have a response. I read the rest of the DOG MAN book to Hiero, who then wanted to draw Dog Man while Dean and Ayler transitioned to quieter origami.

We had pozole with hominy / chips / Greek yogurt / choy for dinner, plus an almond croissant. Beckett wanted to climb up on the couch and needed my help to sit / stand on the white chair. He picked up the word "funny" and the corresponding grin expression. "FUNNY! OPEN! Block! Magnet! Frog!" Of course he got upset when Ayler stole his stuff... I told Hiero that he had just touched the nose-wiping cloth with Beckett's germs ALL OVER it, so Hiero went by himself to wash his hands quickly! Beckett also showed me where my own eyes / nose / mouth / ears were, with the correct words. He wanted to show me his orange half-shell, so he said "shell" - pretty good!

I left at 7:45, amazingly in enough time to catch the 7:55 3 bus that went to the station. However, I wouldn't get home in time for the second period, because there was an electric scooter that took a minute or so to adjust herself in the bus. She didn't deserve a guilt trip or anything, so I was outwardly patient. Then on the Canada Line at Aberdeen, there was an obstreperous guy who wouldn't get off the train until threatened with the cops by the female attendants! Everyone was craning their necks to look - some old man asked if I was going to save him. Fuck, no! I'll watch from safety! I FINALLY got home at 9:10 during the second intermission. The Canucks played the Coyotes tonight at 7:30, and lost 4-2 thanks to an empty-net goal from behind the Arizona net ALL the way to the other end of the ice.

It's Friday the 13th today!

Mom and Dad wanted to come by today to pick up the "remnants" of the broken Heys suitcase - good thing I found the broken handle INSIDE said luggage before they came by this morning at 10:50 AM, since I thought I'd lost it when it wasn't anywhere on the floor nearby! Dad thought I needed to wash my hair since I wore the old Alaska sweatshirt with dandruff on it - uh, I was chilling at home and didn't need to shower till LATER! Apparently, Mom had to use the bathroom even after going at Dr. Ruby's (and apparently didn't wash her hands at my place - GROSS!) - REALLY?! She also gave me a couple of medium candy canes for the boys in a produce bag (plus chocolate almonds for me in another produce bag), but I was happy to keep them for myself since Harmony didn't want the boys to have too much sugar. Yeah, good luck with that one...

After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME and SHOWER TIME, I went out at 3 on an 401 to help with the kids. Harmony gave me some Children's Hospital Christmas cards with white envelopes, so YAY FOR THAT! I also got a card and stickers from Julie in today's mail, plus a surprising card and stickers from Janina, who deactivated her Facebook profile AGAIN a while ago. That was nice of her, though! Rishu wanted to call me anyway since I "couldn't" make it in to the boonies of Richmond, but was so late about it that I should have just taken a shower at 1 instead of 11:45! Hurry up and wait - UGH!

Got to kill a bit of time at Marine Drive Station, but just spent it online near the statue where I could get a wifi signal from Dublin Crossing pub, and got to Harmony's at about 4:30. She'd warned me about being quiet since Beckett was actually napping, and I said I'd be there soonish. The bus HAD to stop for two minutes at 41st, and then ran into rainy-day traffic crap at 20th or so... I'd rather be safe than in an accident, though! When I got in, the boys were reading a Mercy the Pig book, which I had to finish because Harmony had to tend to Beckett and the lasagna at the same time.

I read a few pages of CHINOOK CHRISTMAS - way too advanced for Ayler! - before I decided just to play with Beckett, who had just come out and was loopy. He gave me a bunch of toy balls and emotion eggs, wouldn't respond "yeah" to my questions for a bit, and just stared at me for a while. Later, he did warm up (I got a hug!) and "read" the 100 Words book, saying something that vaguely sounded like "what's that?" and pointing at a picture. Of course he knew where the balls were, but also called a kid's head a "boh-boh," which Hiero found hilarious! "HAHAHA, he called it a BALL!"

We had the aforementioned lasagna with kale and ricotta, cherry tomatoes, and grapes for dinner. Beckett was only slightly interested in this dinner, but at least did not upend his tray on the table this time. He cried and was upset, only smiling when he saw the Vitamin D bottle. No, of course we wouldn't let him overdose on them. "NA NA NA!" he said about the Rice Krispies - he also seemed to like the Advent Calendar chocolate halves that he was allowed. Beckett said ATTIE to me, so YAY! He liked giving me emotion eggs, rolling some balls, playing with the shells, trying to fit the stacking blocks together ("Na na na!" he'd say when he wanted me to take it out), and finding the balloons on the stacking blocks AND the "Christmas tree ornaments" in the boys' room. Then he was also more receptive to saying "yeah" to my questions and even grabbing some rolled balls himself. At least the baby pop-up toy still made him laugh, so YAY!

When Harmony was out of the room (having told me about location settings on my phone photos for everyone's privacy reasons - which I figured out later at the bus stop), I asked Ayler what he really thought of screen time at school. He smiled and said he liked it because "it's the opposite of what my mom wants." HAHAHA, nice! Hiero said that he knows what the "other" meaning of PEE-PEE is, and was busy giving "presents" to his mom of random toys in egg cartons and boxes. Beckett repeated some words like "wow" and "after" when he heard us say them, with "MOMMY! BECKETT SAID WOW!" as a reaction from Hiero.

Myles dropped by at 8 (when the kids were still up), only to have Ayler accuse him: "Cou-fu is stealing our lasagna!" HAHAHAHA! No, Jon just made a couple of mega-batches! Myles also managed to fix the printer, which Beckett had somehow managed to knock offline. We talked briefly and side-hugged; while Harmony was preoccupied, Ayler said he had a question for me, but I had to come over and look at the computer keyboard. Sure, why not? He just wanted to know about the very top row of Function keys - at least he knows to ask me, because his parents probably won't answer! Beckett said "Cou-fu" and "Attie" for Myles' video, which was cute. Later on at 8:30, Harmony finally let me go - I was surprised when I was home at 9:30! I did say bye to Beckett, giving him a high-five and showing him that big gold "boh-boh" at Richmond Centre. They don't need me on Tuesday because of the kids' Christmas concert, so that's just more time to do some stuff before my trip!

After I had COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 11:50 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I bought a NEW on-sale Caramilk chocolate bar and a half, NEW Triscuit dill / sea salt / olive oil crackers, NEW Triscuit Canada balsamic and basil crackers, NEW basil and garlic Triscuits crackers, Ottogi Jin Ramen in both spicy and mild flavors, NEW Western Family chicken and wild / brown rice soup, NEW Western Family chicken and rotini soup, NEW Western Family soy sauce x2 (regular and 50% less sodium), NEW DASANI water (after the soy sauce attacked me), a NEW HERSHEY'S Gold chocolate bar (peanuts and pretzels), Western Family 8-vegetable lasagna with multigrain pasta (carrots / green and red Bell peppers / spinach / zucchini / cauliflower / broccoli / black olives), on-sale Olympic Dairy organic plain yogurt.

Also bought bananas, on-sale Excel Gum in peppermint flavor x3, NEW Shirakiku Goku-Uma tonkotsu noodles, NEW on-sale STAGG Chili Canada Steak House chili, NEW Tim Hortons canned soup x3 (Cream of Broccoli / Chicken Noodle / Chicken Rice), on-sale MilkisPH Snoopy six-pack drinks x7 (milk and yogurt in a bottle / canned melon / canned apple / canned banana / canned mango / canned peach / canned original), Western Family prune nectar, on-sale NEW O'Tasty vegetable / pork / black mushroom dumplings or potstickers, Joy Chinese Dim Sum dumplings x4, and Silk Canada almond milk! After that, I paid my Shaw bill online at home.

Later, I tried to get Hester to give me some laundry tokens (March 26, 2019). She said that they were going out right now, but I could have some if I came by immediately. So I did, but she was STILL not impressed because I should have taken the "nearest" stairs so she wouldn't have to wait three minutes, which is apparently an inconvenience. Well, maybe she should work on the building's elevator which has been out of service for five weeks, and replacing the dryer which has been out of commission for three months! Then when I left her door, she said that I should take the "nearest" stairs - no, because I'd still have to walk down a long hallway regardless! I told her NO! I'm going to do what works best for me, and it's just TOO BAD if my disability and walking speed causes her to wait a few more minutes to leave the building since they haven't invented teleportation for real yet! The Canucks played the Senators again tonight at 7 in Preseason Game #7 (the penultimate!), and lost 6-2.

It's the Mid-Autumn Festival 2019 and Friday the 13th today! 9/13/19 is also a palindrome date! Since Luke and Flaps were talking in Spanish in sober Discord, I decided to ask them to do Mom's Spanish translation if she ever forwarded it to me! If it's so urgent, she should have forwarded it earlier today, so I messaged Jon to see what was up with that. Turns out Mom took "forward us" to mean just Jon and Harmony. At least Luke did it in almost no time at all, for which I thanked him. Mom doesn't need to know that a friend I met through the Internet did it, ha ha ha! I had Pete as backup, too.

Today is Hot and Spicy Food Day! After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 3:30 on a 401 to help with the kids. Just before I was going to leave, the handyman came by and agreed with my assessment that the toilet float needed to be replaced, thank goodness! That left me with little time to catch the bus, but I JUST managed to. Then I was STILL left with time to kill at Marine Drive, so I went to T and T to buy NEW Sautao hot and sour soup vermicelli noodles and what turned out to be Choco-Caramel Mentos. I also texted Term (as is now the tradition) to say, "Hey, guess where I am right now!" Then I saw an Engrish sign: LAYS POTATO SHIPS IN KIMCHI FLAVOR?!

Jon texted me when I got to his building at 4:45; no wonder they weren't answering the buzzer because they were at the park across the street! I found them in due time; he decided to see if Beckett liked the baby swings. He was still expressionless after a few minutes of swinging, not sure what to make of it even if he'd had that experience once before a while ago. Later, Jon tickled him and took video of him laughing for Harma. Ayler and Hiero threw sand on the slide and over the railing for the kiddy structure. I swung the baby gently as Jon went over to discipline. Hiero called me by my first name, which Jon scolded him for. Later, Harma met us at the park with a new puzzle from work! Jon told me that they'd had a playdate with Deb, Dylan, Declan, and Elysse recently, and that LA Chicken was good with kimchi. Fried chicken with kimchi - WEIRD FOOD COMBINATION!

At home, Beckett wanted to play "catch" with those hard plastic stacking blocks... ouch! The soft toys they borrowed or bought are much better for that purpose! Ayler showed me his "creative part" for "THE PLANETS" (not Gustav Holst, but his own creation) and some variations he'd made up for a piano piece. Awesome! Hiero just hid Koosh balls in the "Duplo" blocks and made me guess where he'd put them. That kind of went okay, but I still had to watch Beckett, who was doing a lot less throwing than last week! I had lots of kimchi and some ratatouille for dinner, plus another slice of nectarine thanks to Ayler's aversion to mushy things. He didn't care if I ate it! (I asked him first just to be sure)

We discussed Caleb's greenhouse, Parksville, Hi-Chews candy, Uncle Percy's death (why else would Mom be inviting me to his celebration of life this weekend?), what "avid' meant in the context of being an avid reader, what Beckett liked to eat, summer reading (Ayler read a book all by himself with no alternating pages!), origami with the Summer Reading Log, practicing reading and writing, whether they needed me once school starts up again (could be chaotic), and colorful train tracks which apparently aren't appropriate for Beckett yet. He still seemed to like them, though I know that's not really the point. I left before 8 and got home at 9 on a 407, which isn't bad at all. I thought I was going to miss the 8:56 407 like I did last week, but thankfully did not run into any delays, although other people on the elevator could have counted as one. Luckily, they seemed to be efficient, which I value.

She even included what looks to be an entire Walmart Great Value store brand frozen lasagna for later consumption whenever! WOW! Steph called later so we could discuss my recovery, NO NEED FOR RUSHING THE OTHER EYE SURGERY while driving me home from the hospital, Mom using my sink as a garbage can for her plastic wrap (which isn't even something that can be washed down the drain!), Henry starting to talk now, and Fraser's daycare.

After COFFEE TIME, I left for Jon's at 1:40 on a 401. I had their reusable tote bag from Thanksgiving, and their Bobo's Oat Bars x4 (Chocolate Chip / Maple Pecan / Coconut / Lemon Poppyseed) from yesterday. I got there on time (after sitting on some guy's bank statements because he left them on the seat beside him - I WISH I'D BLED ON THEM!), and was able to hang out with Ayler for about half an hour at home by ourselves since Jon had to go somewhere and Harmony had to pick up Hiero at St. Giles preschool. I passed the time by looking at Ayler's school agenda, learning, asking Ayler about the pumpkin patch today, and eating some chocolate while Ayler put together his Canada puzzle quietly.

After we had a very early dinner of Thanksgiving leftovers at 4, Penny the therapist came over at 5. She told both me and Harmony not to react to whatever Ayler was doing "wrong," but REALLY? I got to hang out with Beckett (who was in his bouncer sometimes), and Hiero "told on me" for bouncing the baby in said bouncer - whatever! I was gentler than either of them were when they were trying to "make him feel better"! Beckett held his favorite colorful toy for quite a while, is starting to vocalize, and "screamed" at me excitedly. So cute! I was fine with him on his colorful mat as well when Ayler and Hiero had bathtime. Yes, I laughed when I heard bubbles coming from both ends! Jon says the cleaners are coming over Monday at 10 AM, and Harmony says it'll only be two hours, but that's fine. I thanked her again on my way out!

When I finally left after bathtime and bedtime, I exchanged the Febreze air fresheners (Harvest Pumpkin / Hawaiian Aloha) from yesterday for Febreze fabric deodorizers at the nearby Save-On Foods. Next time, I should just get them from London Drugs since they're cheaper over there by $2! I got the 3 Marine Drive station bus (which only comes once every half hour) with a minute to spare, and finally got home at 9:05 on a 407, which wasn't helped by the fact that the 401 was already at the bus stop! At least I finally had peace and quiet when I got home, but I wondered what was going on with a certain someone. WE WERE HAVING A GOOD FEW DAYS AND CONVERSATION, JIMMY! WHY BLOCK ME FOR NO REASON THIS MORNING?! Lena says that he sounds insane...

Barry A. Cook and Kyriakos Gouridaris tried adding me to Facebook - DENIED! Steph called me unexpectedly the other day (the 13th) to vent about Mom and her overly-complicated planning, especially trying to let JON pick the location for MY birthday AGAIN. His kids are not an excuse for everything! Planning with Lisa's side of the family is "we're inviting ourselves over for dinner... boom, done!" She definitely doesn't miss that OR Mom, but does miss me and seeing the boys. Apparently, Mom was trying to get her to come over for my birthday, but if she wouldn't fly over for Beckett's baby banquet last week... at least Lisa, Fraser, and Henry are doing well. I don't care if she can't make it for my birthday, especially if it's just her solo and everyone else isn't part of Mom's "whole family" image! That's offensive!

Then I called Auntie Catherine last night (the 14th), trying to change our Monday plans to Saturday plans like it originally was. Nope, she has car issues and the doctor's appointment is better for her. Well, I felt bad trying to do that, which is something rare for me. Oh well, at least I briefly talked to Chung on the phone, and Auntie Catherine can just meet me in front of Pepper Lunch!

I went out at 11 to get some cream puffs from Beard Papas, but they only opened at 12! Instead, I walked to a busy Pricemart where I managed to find an on-sale Gizella Pastry assorted cheesecake ($9.99 for New York / mango / strawberry / blueberry cheesecake slices!) which expires on the 20th. All the other cakes and desserts expired from the 15th to the 17th, so not good for my birthday plans. While I was in the line for the self-checkout (because the other lines were really long), I saw on-sale NEW limited-edition Strawberry Shortcake Oreos, so of course I had to grab those! Then I got UNEXPECTED ITEM IN BAGGING AREA and PLEASE REMOVE ITEM FROM BAGGING AREA error messages - UGH!

Afterwards, I went to London Drugs and actually had to look for the Always bulk pads in packs of 38; thank goodness I found one! While going through my SWISS GEAR wallet, I found that my Strepsils there expire this month (September 2018), so went to the pharmacy next door to get Adam to show me the honey lemon and black cherry Strepsils. I got the latter, and got home at 12:10 on a 407.

White Eric called me at 6:05, and got here about 15 minutes later. We discussed Steph, Mom, life, (almost) being in the Main area three times in three nights, and IGNITE PIZZA on the way to Jeremy's. I met new people named Alice, Evan, Judy, and Anna; CHINESE ERIC SHOWED UP, so of course I had to talk to him! He said that he'd seen my reply to the Evite, so of course he had to come after work! I saw Jesse and Trish, so gave them my "jack shit" opinion of the Pest Chaser sonic device. Said hi to Geoffrey, Fred, Randal, Sheena, Vivian, and Kevin. We discussed a future hockey hangout, the Vegas Golden Knights, Kevin's Singapore and Vietnam / Saigon trip photos, white Eric's Albania trip photos, panoramic photos, Jon moving AGAIN to Mom and Dad's current apartment (which I didn't know about till he showed up and said something), losing weight, Randal spending time with Ayler and Hiero (but stopping his lessons), life updates, writing, scheduling Wordpress blogging, and Rice Paper online magazine.

Also talked about politics, Anglicans, Kevin attending a Lutheran church now, the Washington Capitals, the Tampa Bay Lightning, Twitch "in real life" streams, PUBG / FORTNITE, the new Wi-Fi device and password, Hiero ripping out a door at Jeremy's TODAY (he doesn't care!), Vivian's gum graft procedure (OUCH!), Christon's mom being even less mobile now, Randal's dad being 82 now, Nathan not wanting to socialize in big groups now (which is so totally understandable), Stockholm Syndrome beer, Pepsi, and BRISK iced tea. The party broke up at about 9:40 or so, and I nudged white Eric to get going if he wanted to pack up his hockey gear for tomorrow when he got home to Richmond. We waited for Sheena since she had no idea how to get out; on her way IN, she had bumped into Vivian, so that was pretty lucky! I got home at 10:25, and had peace and quiet unlike last night. SO GOOD AND REFRESHING!

After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME and an early shower, I left for Jon's at 2:45 on a 401. For Sunday, I'll message him in the morning to see what's up with them and going around Arbutus. I beat them to the house by two minutes after breaking a $50 bill at Kam Do Bakery (BBQ pork bun!) for that dinner in a couple of weeks. The kids thought they should beat me to the house because they live there (also that Hiero can get rid of Ayler), but that's not how things work! I read (Christmas GRINCH and baby) books to them for at least 45 minutes after a snack of cherry tomatoes dunked in chocolate milk, plus mangoes. Turns out that I was sitting in some Silly Putty "slime" that the kids made at school (which Harmony noticed), so I had to wash my white pants when I got home... I was NOT IMPRESSED, and wasn't impressed when the kids reached for my hat and said stuff about taking it off. At least the Silly Putty washed off!

Hiero asked me whom I saw before I got to the house - nobody except for the people at the bakery and on transit! Both boys said that Curtis (Jon's piano student) and I were Mommy, despite warnings from Jon. (INCEST IS WRONG!) We had minestrone and chicken Pho noodles for dinner; Jon and I also had (Steamworks) beer. I told the kids about YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON TELEVISION, and the "I don't know" phrase triggering GREEN SLIME! We discussed my doing the dishes, boundaries (I got up mid-book to find an oatmeal cookie after ten times of the kids talking about my hat), going to the bathroom / using coconut oil / privacy / the cash register, my leaving at 6:45 (and getting home at 7:25 on a 401), popsicles, baby spit-up, blowing bubbles in chocolate milk, favorite colors (Ayler likes red and Hiero likes yellow), being quiet, and more.

I showered and did laundry today. The Canucks played the Ducks at 7 tonight, and LOST 5-0 to Ryan Miller!

THIS ENTRY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE NON-ALIGNED TAGS.

"He's Keeping You a Secret For Now"

Your guy doesn't seem super psyched to go public with your relationship - at least not totally public.
Maybe he's a private person, or maybe you are just starting to date. It's nothing to worry about yet.

Keep an eye on this guy. Is he as serious about you as you are about him? He may be hiding something... you!
You want to be with someone who's as excited to be with you as you are with him. Even if it means getting a new man.

"You Are a Brown Leaf"

You are a well-grounded and down-to-earth person. You are dependable, in part because you like knowing that you can depend on yourself.
You are quietly confident and know who you are. You don't have to be the most colorful person in the room to be comfortable.

You are approachable and friendly. People naturally trust you. You are as stable and honest as you seem.
You are warm and reassuring. You believe that there is a season for everything, and you accept each day as it comes.

"You Are Quite Wise"

You don't feel different than anyone else, but that's part of your wisdom. You are humble and thoughtful.
You always try to reflect more than react, but sometimes your very human nature gets the better of you.

You try to go with the flow and live in the moment. There is a lot of wisdom to be found in the present.
If there's anything you're trying to improve on, it's getting to know yourself a little better.

"You Are Gillian"

You are a rebel to the core, and if someone calls you on it, it only makes you act out.
You are fun-loving and impulsive. You seek a life of adventure and enjoy being with whoever is Mr. Right Now.

You don't care what others think. You are good to those who matter to you, and your attitude helps liberate them.
You take life as it comes, and you are happy to squeeze the most out of every day. Party at your place!

glowing_dragon: (Crazy-Eyed Bear)

"Your Autumn Lipstick is Dusty Rose"

You are wise and quietly smart. You often know more than most people, but you tend to keep that to yourself.
You appreciate subtlety in everything. You think most people try too hard, and you always prefer nuance.

You are naturally stylish, and you've got that effortlessly chic thing down. You have an eye for beauty.
No one sees how much work goes into your look, and you like it that way. Your makeup enhances, but doesn't distract.

"You Are Chocolate Frosting"

You're the first to admit that you're a bit old-school, but you prefer the term "classic."
Unlike a lot of modern people, you don't believe in depriving yourself. A little indulgence is a good thing, especially if it's frosting!

You take good care of yourself, and you never forget to look after your loved ones. You are naturally thoughtful and generous.
You are the type of person who likes to work behind the scenes. You don't think of yourself as anything special, but people wouldn't want to live without you.

From Julie: James Caan! James Can't!

glowing_dragon: (Devilish Smile)

"Your Wine is Cabernet"

You are a resilient and successful person. You have a lot of willpower, and you are more resistant to stress than most people.
You truly appreciate the finer things in life. You are always on a hunt for the best; second place is a disappointment.

You have a strong sense of self, but it's not off-putting. You are well-mannered and can engage anyone.
You could have been very successful taking the traditional route in life, but instead, you've chosen to forge your own path.

I went shopping at 1:10 on a 407, going to Price Smart to get some frozen Sara Lee strawberry cheesecake as my birthday cake / treat to myself, on-sale Zest Ocean Breeze body wash (I'm re-banning Lever 2000 body wash from my apartment), and a little bottle of mango Ramune on Lena's recommendation. Then I went to London Drugs to get 800 index cards (especially since the sale expired TODAY!), black Secret thin socks, and a purple Life Candy shower puff. I got home at 2:40 on another 407, which wasn't too bad!

"You Enhance Lives"

You're the type of person who likes to work quietly behind the scenes. Very few people notice all that you do.
You love to help, but you aren't looking for credit. You know that you do a lot simply being there for others.

You are steady, dependable, and loyal. You aren't just a rock, though - you also have a good spark that lights up the world.
You bring lightness and depth, optimism, and realism to others' lives. You are often what is missing.

"You Are Birdie"

You are as wise as they come. You have a good deal of life experience, and you've definitely learned from it.
You may be down to earth, but you have a wild past that few know about. And you're happy to keep it that way.

You have a lot of foresight, but you don't go around making predictions. You just let things unfold.
You are steady and encouraging. You are always rooting your friends on from the sidelines.

I got this error message last night: "You have specified a date in the future." No, I haven't. FACEBOOK, GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER!

glowing_dragon: (Bubble Tea)
Last night, Jon said that I was welcome to come over for lunch, and that physio was at 2:15. Sounded good to me, as I could get my Compass Card back that way, as well as spend more time with the kids! Time to put the thing in my wallet instead of my pocket while I'm out of the house! I got to the house early, but at least I could spend some quiet time to chill. When Jon and the boys got back from an appointment, we had chicken and tofu tacos for lunch before going to physio. The boys had fun making up bus stops (Steveston and Portland / Seattle / Surrey?!), and imitating the "BEEP BEEP BEEP" of the wheelchair ramps around here! Jon asked me how white Eric was; you see him more often than I do! Apparently, someone has set up a birthday dinner for him at Jeremy's on Sunday, but I haven't gotten any emails about it. I guess he's pretty busy! Later, Jon asked if Chinese Eric had any friends; I have no idea since even HE had to work on his own birthday!

We talked about Jeremy and his going down to Corvallis (Oregon) to see the solar eclipse with Christon and white Eric last week, my emailing Kevin some birthday wishes, whether they'd sent Fraser anything for his birthday ("oops"), my doing some dishes after a dinner of corn chowder and bread, Penny the speech therapist, Beck / Weird Al making me think of Jeremy, the Dead Kennedys, zone strategies, and September scheduling. When I got home at 7:45 on a 407, I finally registered the Compass Card online! Jimmy had messaged me this morning, but I'd ignored it in favor of doing my own thing, especially because of last night's lyrics debacle which HE could have easily prevented. Tommy's just messaged me as well, but I'll ignore that for certain.

Yay! My Facebook friends have LOVED my posts 400 times! :D

Eric Ho called me at 5:35 to say that he was heading down to Richmond, and alerted me to the fact that Nathan was back in town recently, so of course I checked out Nathan's Facebook page! It's true: Daniel is now a Doctor! Also, their mom Auntie Lillian is going to have a small park at Yukon and 17th named after her soon! He got here at 6:10, and I had the parking pass ready, of course! Then he said that he was in his neighborhood, and bumped into Mike. Eric actually deliberately waved him down to talk to him even though he doesn't like Mike much: apparently, Mike's gone on fewer cross-border trips, but I think that's because Hagen's had reduced their requirements for picking up packages from every two weeks to a month. Anyway, Eric had apparently told Mike that "Leslie and I have fun when we hang out and it's not so empty." I had to get him to translate this, which apparently meant that there wasn't a feeling of missing the other person! (and to see if he missed stuff like that, too) At least Mike apparently got the message since he went quiet afterwards, and Eric mentioned now that Mike wasn't his cup of tea, either - JUST LIKE BILLIE DID! Of course, I had seemed happy to him back in 2013 and 2014...

We also talked about his new glasses (the other pair broke), my good eye for noticing that, future hangouts, wanting to extend me the courtesy of a heads-up, the Creamsicle ice cream, LeBron James and his dynasty, Sidney Crosby compared to Alexander Ovechkin, his not liking Richmond drivers, Nick Bonino, EA Sports and playing past players vs. modern players, a future road trip, Michael Jordan, a zero-zero tie (0-0 tie) till very late in the game, and Shania Twain being on TV at the game in Nashville before he finally left at 8:05. Yes, we ate McDonalds fries / sour cream and onion Pringles chips / Efruti gummy candy / wasabi Pringles chips / Creamsicle ice cream / Kettle chips in Moscow Mule flavor / Lays sour cream and sriracha chips. Now I'm going to relax with video game music for the rest of the night because having someone talk at me for three hours is pretty draining!
glowing_dragon: (Default)
I had to go out at 12:10 to the London Drugs at Broadway Station AGAIN to make sure I got the on-sale wasabi Pringles chips this time, along with $2 Efruti Fruit Juice Gummies in Berries (Raspberries and Blackberries) and Raspberries flavors. Getting there was fine, as I did that in 20 minutes thanks to just managing to get the 401, but the way back was cluttered with wheelchairs and strollers and scooters! That girl in a wheelchair could have gone to London Drugs in the time it took for her to wait for the 407 at Brighouse! I finally got home at 2:15!

After I had COFFEE TIME and called London Drugs customer service to find out when their current sale ends on Rubbermaid dish drainers (May 28), Barry picked me up at 12:45 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I bought on-sale Classico pasta sauce x2 (Four Cheese and Tomato / Pesto), noodles, a shower pouf, Teriyaki Rice / Noodles Sidekicks, preserved vegetables, on-sale Cheemo perogies x2 (Country Mushroom and Potato / Bacon / Romano Cheese), pork and tri-treasure / lamb and onion / pork and vegetable / pork and chives JOY dumplings at the Big Crazy price (which saves me a trip out there if it's the same price), on-sale store brand paper towels, and JML chicken and mushroom noodles. I also got on-sale Western Family French Vanilla ice cream, NEW Pillsbury poutine Pizza Pops in a special edition (I love the alliteration!), NEW Pillsbury cheese pizza bites, NEW Pillsbury pepperoni pizza bites, Juzz Mee curry noodles, a BC roll for $3.99 (better than the 22-piece $10.99 assorted rolls if the expiry date is still tomorrow, May 25), Vedan noodles x2 (Spicy Mushroom / Cuttlefish and Mushroom), and on-sale Ruffles chips x3. (Loaded Potato Skins / Sour Cream and Bacon / All-Dressed) I also saw preserved Cordia seeds while I was in the Chinese jars aisle, so made a note of that to tell Citrus so he can tell his sister.

While I was at the store, I helped a random white guy with some Nissin black garlic oil noodles, and told an old grandma that her shawl looked pretty. (it had Japanese women with fans on it!) She at least thanked me! When I got home at 2:10, Barry did agree to help me with changing the batteries on the phone in my bedroom, which is good. Afterwards, I paid my Shaw bill online today, then somehow unplugged my computer speakers while trying to figure some stuff out! My cashier recognized me, and so we chatted a bit - his name is Ray, and he has a white half-beard thing. I left again at 6:30 to London Drugs, where I got a new on-sale dish drainer (April 11, 2015) on Aisle 1 / on-sale purple GUM Comfort Slide flossers since today was the last day of their being on sale currently / an on-sale Slinky toy plus an on-sale Redbox pre-historic dinosaur toy set with trees (#24359) for Ayler's birthday.

I got a much more helpful computer associate this time (yesterday's associate had told me to go to the front for checkout and didn't seem interested in customer service), who sold me a black Microsoft Wired 600 keyboard for $20. Thank goodness it worked when I got home at 8:30 (just missing a 407 and having to wait for the next one), after a mini heart attack when it initially wouldn't work to put in my password at startup! This one is quieter and much lighter, too! Time to email Harmony to see when a good time would be to drop off the gifts, or see Ayler too, I guess. NOW MY MOUSE AND KEYBOARD ARE FREE OF MIKE AND HIS TAINT!

From the Staples Canada Facebook wall: a six-pack of Cross fountain pen ink cartridge refills and a five-pack of Parker Quink ink cartridge refills with fountain permanent ink are $999,999.99 each?!
