It's so fitting that I'm listening to Radiohead's KARMA POLICE right now! Carol told CANUCK NATION a minute ago that her racist ex-husband Stuart has just died from his three different kinds of cancer. I'm sorry that she's feeling sad, though. I guess I can take him off my Block List now...

I went out at 2:05 to see Rachel at 2 at the Caring Place. THE BUS STOPS CHANGED AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE CONSTRUCTION! I had to walk to the next 414 stop near the London Drugs, and had just missed the 401 AND 407! UGH! When I got home at 4 on a 407, I took a shower.

Last night, I discovered a cut in my BRAND-NEW bag of Jalapeno Cheddar Cheetos! The Cheetos had slightly spilled in the plastic tub, so I had to throw them out - UGH! I was too tired or lazy to go out in the cold AGAIN to check my reusable bag, so I did that this morning - yup, there were more Cheetos in there, along with a grease stain on my notebook! Had to throw out the bag and the notebook, and put the scarf and Canucks gloves in the laundry hamper.

I left at 2 to go to The Caring Place to see Rachel on a 414. Then I went to London Drugs for a new replacement red Hilroy notebook / a big new reusable bag / variety hot chocolate pack (Turtles / Coffee Crisp / After Eight) / on-sale Lindt chocolate bars x2 for Harmony's birthday (Caramel and Sea Salt / Lime Zest) / an on-sale white chocolate Aero bar / an on-sale mint chocolate Aero bar for National Chocolate Mint Day today before going home at 4:05 on a 401, which I managed to get just in time before the SNOW started to stick!

EDIT: Kate left a post on my Facebook wall asking if I wanted to three-way call with Pothead Mike; OF COURSE I DID! I sent her my number and we were on a roll after that. Mike said it was good to hear my voice, and we talked about Scary Mysteries / Damarys (Mike's impressed with how I'm dealing with it) / the weather where we were / kids swearing / Ed Kemper / Ed Gein / Jackie / 99fruitbat / uploads / the Surrey transit cop shooting / the RCMP tank / how Kate and I did not say "ABOOT." I had to leave the house today from 8 to 4 because of the forced water shutoff and the sewer upgrades, and I hope this is the only one till all the construction is projected to end in December! This is NOT helping my budget OR my financial situation! I bought spicy beef noodle Tom Yum soup and Brisk iced tea from Thai Express, EMOJI STICKERS for Fraser at IndigoSpirit, chocolate vitamin bread from Maxim's Bakery (a way better $2.75 value than an overpriced ham and cheese sandwich), plus HATCHIMAL / MINECRAFT / PAW PATROL stickers and a kiddy Valentine's Day card from the dollar store.

Before I bothered going home, I called Hester to see if the water was back on. She said "yes" and hung up! What if I couldn't hear her or had another question?! GEEZ! I got home at 4:40 on a 401.

I went out at 9:30 on a 401 to meet Mom and Dad at Main and 15th at TXL Insurance, Uncle William Ng's company. (10:30 AM?!) After we had lunch at Kwong Chow and finally took care of the insurance, I did some shopping at the Broadway London Drugs. Bought 400 Mead index cards, store brand all-purpose cleaner, a three-inch Avery binder for my important documents (a definite upgrade!), a red $2 MARTEX washcloth, a GUM toothbrush, and two dark blue $2 GOODY toothbrush covers. Got home at 1:40 to a Purolator notice (ugh), a phone call from Dr. Wise's office, and some other mail, so I had to deal with all of that.

I got a BUDDY THE ELF Christmas card / Tazo Tea x3 (passion herbal tea, vanilla caramel chai, and green ginger tea) / magnetic Fool Moon treasures crow bookmark from Angie H. (auralily) and a Ringo the dog Christmas card from Kitty (bornwitch / dutch_kitty) in the mail. Then after calling Dr. Wise's office back, I GOT MY SURGERY TIME! 11:45 at Mount St. Joseph's isn't TERRIBLE! After letting Barry know about the surgery date and then fielding an inconvenient phone call from Mom (I was going to go out before it got dark!), I trekked near YVR on Jericho Road to get to the Purolator via YVR Airport Canada Line, placing myself nearer the airport than I'd intended today, as I told Corey when I got back. DOUBLE COFFEE TIME! I was ready with Eric's Christmas 2018 Almond Roca when he called this morning at 8:55, which I dumped into the backseat when he mentioned Christmas as a reminder. I took an extra 30 seconds to talk to the security guard, who says that he doesn't know how long they'll be posted in the apartment lobby - then I apologized to Eric about it, who didn't say anything much beyond stuff about how he knows the building doesn't have sprinklers. (it would automatically detect fire and BURNING to call 911!) We got to church on time, and I settled into a pew with Myles, Brittney, and Naomi... I definitely hugged Pastor Dan hello and said hi to Joe! Mom and Dad stayed for ONLY the baby dedication, OF COURSE! I said hi to Uncle Joe and Auntie Wing Yee, and waved to Peter, Holly, Evander, Everett, Jon, Harmony, Ayler, Hiero, and Beckett.

After service, I said hi to Lesley / Frances C. (her mom and a possible get-together) / Eva (Harrison's mom - he's now FIFTEEN?!) / Margaret K. / Ivan W. (eye surgery and Sunday Dinner) / Auntie Esther / Harmony (eye surgery support) / Pastor Dan (eye surgery and Sharon being out of town) / Auntie Catherine (hug) / Auntie Cathy (hug) / Emily Y. (Joey in town often and non-profit work for Big Brothers) / Deb (eye surgery support) / Pastor Fulton / Lawrence / Derek C. / Adam L. / Billy (I have the same eyes?!) and Stella (Steph's family) / Rosenda / Sophia / Natalie / Jeff / Anita / Uncle Wayne and Auntie Susan. It was good to see people and say hi... Eric didn't even HAVE hockey because of some international thing going on in that arena, so I got a ride home from him, avoiding lunch with my parents! Of course Mom had my stuff before she and Dad go on a cruise to Cuba and visit Steph's family.

I made sure that I talked to Jon and his crew, of course, patting Beckett's head as I said hi to him. Hiero was playing with a "paper plane," and I helped Ayler with a Nanaimo Bar at the snack table. Eric and I listened to a comedy podcast, then got stuck in traffic to the Arthur Laing Bridge, so we should just have braved the backed-up Knight Street Bridge instead! I finally got home at 12:35 when we'd left the church about an hour earlier... the Canucks played the St. Louis Blues at 12 today, and WON 6-1! I'm just glad that I have unfettered time to blog at my own pace now!

Got home at 5:05 on a 407, and had lots of peace and quiet. I needed it to edit past entries, grab food photos from Google, and upload them! Barry came by at 11:15 to help me with a flashlight / rubber gloves / steel wool, and left at 11:45. I gave him the parking pass, and he removed another dead mouse plus a nearby pack of playing cards. Since I didn't have to help out today (which I found out at 2:40 right when I was going to leave), I took the "extra" time to shop at Price Smart instead when it wasn't so hot outside at 3:20. I bought a Japanese bento box (sushi / egg / rice / meat / two potstickers / thin red noodles!), crunchy pig's ears, NEW limited-edition Olympic Krema passion fruit yogurt, NEW limited-edition Olympic Krema Greek lemon ginger yogurt, NEW Western Family sriracha chips, store brand steel wool, an on-sale Crunchie bar (for 50 cents!), and NEW on-sale Breyers Reese peanut butter cups chocolate ice cream.

Before I left the store (getting Erik's sister Lindsay as my cashier), I had to endure the lady in front of me thinking that she could use her new points redemption / points rebate coupon on the same transaction where she got it, then take an extra minute to slowly get her debit card out of her wallet and then use it. "You Are Psychopathy"

At your darkest times, your heart turns cold. You can operate without concern for anybody but yourself.
You may not have a psychopath, but you have the charm and calculation of one. It just depends on whether you want to turn it on.

While psychopaths are dangerous, your cool demeanor can serve you and the world well... if you let it.
Your lack of anxiety means you can navigate emergencies and stressful situations better than most people. Not much gets under your skin.

"You Practice Self-Care Regularly"

You are a pro at self-care, and you make sure to take time for yourself every day. You run on full... not empty!
While some people may worry about putting themselves first too much, you don't give it a second thought. You know what you need.

By taking good care of yourself, you can take better care of others. You have plenty of resources to go around.
If only everyone practiced as much self-care as you do, the world would be a much happier place!

"You Are Tough"

You are deep and resilient. You can get through anything, and you always have the ability to dig deep.
Your good deeds go unnoticed, and you don't mind being part of a group effort. You're happy to work behind the scenes.

When it comes to fashion, you have your own unique style. You update it over time, but you rarely change your overall look.
You dress to work hard and be comfortable - nothing too fancy. However, you also add some fun subtle flair.

"You Are Roasted Vegetables"

You are a bit of a homebody, and there's no better time to be at home than the holidays. You love this part of the year.
You feel the most productive and centered when you're at home. No matter how small, your home is truly your castle.

You live a simple and uncomplicated life. You think the most important thing is to make yourself happy.
You see less as more because you make sure to make it more. Nothing is too small or inconsequential for you to enjoy.

"You Are House of Yes"

Your family tends to prefer a picture-perfect holiday, but you can only fake it for so long.
You've got serious history with these people, and you're not one to brush over the past. Even for Thanksgiving!

You are a bit of an oddball yourself, and you tend to have strong passions. Some would call them obsessions.
Once you get your mind set on something, you're not going to change it. You tend to be single focused.

SO FUCKING TRUE!
glowing_dragon: (Devilish Smile)
I had a dream where Jimmy was driving me and Tommy in a van somewhere, and Jimmy kept saying that he would choose Tommy over me, even as he dropped him off at a house somewhere before going into Richmond (where we both lived for whatever reason) and hanging out with me at a crowded conference. Okay then, subconscious! I'm probably going to make a new Facebook music group called COME AS YOU ARE, too. Tommy would automatically be blacklisted because of my rule of not typing like a moron. Punctuation is important! Jimmy says he wouldn't choose him over me, so we'll see.

"Your Intellect Eclipses Your Isolation"

You are constantly seeking to know more about the world. Understanding is always your key to happiness.
You may not be a naturally social person, but you connect with others freely when shared interest, knowledge, and passions are involved.

You are curious about the world and new ideas. You are open to changing your mind, and are constantly collecting information.
You are not quick to judge someone, even if you think you disagree. You seek to learn more instead.

Not sure about the last two sentences, especially right now at my stage of life! I can be quite comfortable judging people, especially if they act defensive / manipulative / supercilious / toxic! Trust me, I had to deal with at least one of those people last week! No, thanks! I have no time for that!

Today is Left-Handers Day! I had to deal with a lot of online drama this morning, which involved some rude and condescending Penguins fan named Jennifer who thought that she had an IQ of 169, and that my "attitude problem" could be solved by talking to her. I don't THINK so! Thank goodness Helen Y. understood, while Jimmy could definitely relate, and Tommy was okay with people leaving that Metropolis Division group chat on Facebook. Hopefully, Jimmy and I can forge more of a friendship! I think it's a good sign that he says he trusts me (gotta make sure that stays) and wants me to speak my mind / anything to him. I'll just take this friendship slowly, as per usual.

In the SNES version of FINAL FANTASY VI, the diary is even more simple: "Queen's Diary."

This is from the SNES version: If Terra is in the FINAL FANTASY VI party at this point, she will have something to say after everyone reads the Queen's Diary. "Love between a human and an Esper..." Yes, that is her defining character trait!

"You Are the Judicial Branch"

You have a well-developed sense of right and wrong, but you are always open to changing your mind about the details.
You have a very rational mind. You never judge until you learn all of the facts and context for something.

You are good at seeing issues in full. You can hold a lot of details in your head at once, and you're able to organize chaos.
You aren't an overly emotional person, and you can see when people are arguing from emotion. You can step back and assess without passion.

Eric M. called me at 11:30 from church to say that he wouldn't be going back to Richmond, but could give me a ride back from Jeremy's. Sure, I can bus there, and I didn't have to leave the house really early at 2 PM! That gave me more time to do stuff! After COFFEE TIME (during which I almost left with my pants on backwards), I left the house at 4, and killed a slight bit of time at Kingsgate Mall. The Books, Etc. store is now 90% DVDs and puzzles! I bought NEW Moscow Mule Kettle chips, OXO beef bouillon sachets, and a Hot Beef Pho Mr. Noodles bowl from Buy-Low Foods before walking over to Jeremy's at 5:15 or so. Unfortunately, I had to see my ex-friend Randal, who mentioned to Jon's friend Mallory that he has "a passion for God and wants it to show at work" - THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU DO! I can't believe I ever liked him!

I said hi to Julie S., Ivan, Emily, Sam, Quan, Gino, Kevin, and Caleb after meeting Jon's other friend Eric (from Jacob's Well) / Angel / Mallory. Then I talked to Stanley about my 90% whiskey, his band, Peter Gabriel, the CODEX, weird acoustic dubstep, and the whiskey. I updated both Jesse and Jon's friend Rebecca about my life recently, and talked about the summer / no editing for Holly / not doing well with change / all this unknown stuff possibly impacting people's recovery (Rebecca said that my point was a very good one which she hadn't thought about before), Jacob's Well needing $50,000 and already raising $42,000 in two weeks / all my nephews loving me ("You have to stay longer! Stay all night!") / Ontario hydro bills. One guy in a Youtube / NPR video even had a traffic cone inside his saxophone, haha! Eric and I left early (after I paid $10 and he made a comment about my chips), and I got home at 9:05.

Then I noticed that Chinese Eric had called me at 5:45, so I called him back at 10. He had called me by accident, but he wanted to see if I was up for seeing a Blue Jays-Mariners game this weekend. I thought he meant a literal road trip, but thank goodness he didn't. He says it's been eight months (really six or so) since we hung out here; he's been busy and apparently had a problem with his Hotmail account, but didn't really specify what. (but did say that he had 3500 emails to sort through... JUST DELETE THEM!) We also talked about heat, a sauna, the 162-game MLB schedule, and catching up later. Hopefully, I don't have to do anything else after next Sunday for quite a while! DRAINING!
