I discovered redrum today - UGH! I also officially left Shiwa's Discord server. Too bad for them! They won't have the Fire Dragon anymore!

Went to the pharmacy next door at 11 now that they're actually OPEN to refill my prescription and buy some extra-strength Tylenol (100 tablets) for $16.79 in case I need to fight the coronavirus later on. I was the only person there, and had to wait for 20 minutes in a yellow box taped over the floor, but they were pretty busy with medication! Should have just remembered the Tylenol yesterday... got home just before 11:25. Someone else paid $210.76 for her prescriptions!

I went to Price Smart at 6, where there was zero enforcement of a lineup. I was in and out in ten minutes or so, which is a record these days with the coronavirus pandemic! I got NEW Old Dutch Foods Canada Spicy Salt and Vinegar chips, NEW Saniderm 70% hand sanitizer in a 236 mL bottle for $9, NEW Stouffer’s Cheddar Potato Bake, Smart Ones Pot Roast, NEW Hungry-Man XL Bowls / Pies x4 (Chicken Pot Pie / Buffalo-Style Chicken Macaroni and Cheese / Country-Fried Chicken Croquettes Bowl / Spicy Chicken Queso Burrito), Hungry-Man Turkey, and Hungry-Man Beer-Battered Chicken before coming home at 6:55, just in time for the 7 PM cheer! Saw a bunch of people outside, and I told some kids "Nice poster!" and gave them a thumbs-up.

I had to spend MORE time out and MORE MONEY today at Richmond Centre because of ANOTHER temporary water shutoff. *rolleyes* Good thing I had plenty of cash! I bought a White Spot breakfast quesadilla with chorizo sausage, a White Spot blueberry milkshake that slightly tasted like cough syrup (what are they doing with those machines overnight?!), NEW on-sale OGX Beauty tea tree / mint shampoo and conditioner, on-sale Dove pomegranate shampoo and conditioner from $8.99 to $2.99, NEW Life iron pill supplements, NEW Jamieson Vitamins garlic softgels, and NEW Irish Spring charcoal body wash. Shoppers and London Drugs both worked! Got home at 5:40 on a 407 (was NOT going to call Hester because of the one-word and hangup I received LAST YEAR), and the water was back on, so I could take a shower for tomorrow!

This is the 2019 recap. Fitting for the last day of the year, no?


JANUARY

* Hung out with Vanessa and baby Cassidy pre-surgery at Lansdowne: Fresh Elements bubble tea, good dumplings at the food court, GOLDEN DRAGON SUSHI, and more! She helped me open the ridiculous eyedrops bottles, too! [Jan. 7]

* Had eye cataract surgery at Mount St. Joseph's - yikes! Luckily, I had love and support from my friends, and my parents DID drive me home! [Jan. 10]

* Had a one-day followup appointment at the eye clinic. Thank goodness that Barry was able to drive me! Things looked healthy! [Jan. 11]

* Crashed at Deb and Dylan's for about a week. Declan and Elysse liked me from the start, and it was pretty interesting and funny. ("I have my dad's old phone, Elysse." "Did he die?!" Haha!) Lots of meals and Swiss Chalet plus lamb and ribs and packed lunches! I appreciated their support, for sure! [Jan. 11-16]

* Had my one-week followup appointment at the eye clinic. My eye still looked healthy and there is no need to rush on any new glasses! I got hit up for cash at Vancouver City Centre, but I said NO. He should have fucked off instead! [Jan. 17]

* Had Hiero's birthday party: glow-in-the-dark bowling at Grandview Lanes! Dylan and Deb kindly gave me a ride back, and Mom did NOT have to insert herself into our post-church plans by thanking them for "looking after" me! [Jan. 20]


FEBRUARY

* Got a chance to three-way call with Kate and Pothead Mike right after the hockey game, which the Canucks won 4-3 in a shootout against the Flames! It was pretty good to hear their voices as we chatted about a bunch of things including Ed Kemper and the RCMP tank in Surrey. [Feb. 9]

I left at 4:45 to take the bus to Richmond Centre, in hopes of getting an mega on-sale suitcase from the Bay. Went to Shoppers Drug Mart first in order to get a NEW Starbucks Cold Brew bottle for the morning of the 19th, plus on-sale Christmas cards with WHITE envelopes as the red ones are far too hard to see what I'm writing! I know red is a Christmas color, but STILL! After going upstairs at the Bay and finding the luggage section, I chose a purplish suitcase (maybe I can return it later for the black one?) which was $86 instead of $300! Got home at 6:30 on a 407, which is fine. JUST missed the 401 at 6, too!

I did go to Shoppers for on-sale Jamison Vitamin D3 gummies (almost half-price!), NEW Lindt Milk Mint / Hazelnut truffles, NEW Life brand echinacea x120, NEW Delecto assorted dark chocolates in a purple box, NEW Cheetos Snowflakes, and NEW Hot Cocoa Hershey's Kisses! The Canucks played Nashville today at 5, and won 6-3! FIVE POWER PLAY GOALS!

9/19/19 is also a palindrome date! It's Talk Like A Pirate Day today! Since Rishu wanted to change our appointment to a phone call because she's sick (which worked for the hockey schedule and my not rushing to make it home in time), I went out at 12:30 on a 401 and went to Boston Pizza to redeem my free birthday dessert offer.

NEW Bourbon BBQ Chicken pizza and Chocolate Explosion Cheesecake it was! I got home at 2:35 on a 401, thanks to just missing an early 407. Luke, Violet Faith, Flaps, and Jimbo said no to Saturday. Rishu called at 4:25 from a blocked number, and that went fine.


NEW Bourbon BBQ Chicken pizza: House-made Bourbon BBQ Sauce, BBQ chicken, balsamic-roasted red onions, pizza mozzarella, cheddar cheese, and bacon, finished with a buttermilk ranch drizzle!




Free birthday dessert: Chocolate Explosion Cheesecake! I was Asian about it and ordered the most expensive thing on the menu. Creamy chocolate mousse with chunks of cheesecake, caramel, toffee, pecans, and almonds on a chocolate crust.

After COFFEE TIME, a German Shaw technician came by at 11:35 AM with a replacement cable box / new PVR box / new remote control / new modem / advice. (calling my HOME number 15 minutes beforehand to see whether I was home... WHAT DO YOU THINK?!) When he left at 12:15 after also setting up my wi-fi network on my cellphone, I took a much-needed shower and did some much-needed laundry!

In the evening, Dylan came by at 6:55 PM to help me buy a new microwave at London Drugs. He did call me first at 6:25 to advise me that he was at Walmart doing some stuff, then would come by here. We talked about his Great Value red curry chips, Declan and Elysse's swimming lessons, NOT defrosting meat in the microwave because it won't cook evenly and will be all frozen in the middle ("SEE?! NO ONE BELIEVES ME!"), his stressful day at work, parking, and the heavy bulky stuff. Came back home at 7:30 after I selected a new black RCA 1.1 cubic foot microwave oven for $99.99 plus tax (so about $117.60) - yes, that was definitely going on my savings account! Good thing I checked my bank balances BEFORE going out - that Panasonic inverter microwave from Robert was at least twice the price from Robert. I know why Mike insisted on it - because of his own image problems!

Then I heard that the St. Louis Blues had won the 2019 Stanley Cup against the nasty Bruins! Makes me feel better about 2011, for sure! I told Paulo to bookmark these microwave oven cooking conversion charts as well. He was at the gym, but came by at 9:35 to pick up the Danby Designers 700-watt microwave. Yes, having a free backup is nice, but I like to pay favors forward when I can. It just rarely happens in two and a half hours! Like I had thanked Dylan, Paulo thanked me - it's a cycle! :D

Yesterday, Holly invited me to Steveston Pizza at her place tonight. Nobody was going to have the $850 pizza! ("SEENAY: Medley of tiger prawns, lobster ratatouille, smoked steelhead, Russian Osetra caviar, snowed with Italian white truffles $850") After I showered and had COFFEE TIME, Brian kindly picked me up at the hospital at 7:10 even though the pizza place was way closer to his apartment. We chatted about the expensive pizza (a MOUND of seafood on the order before his?!) and the NHL Draft Pick Lottery Day before getting to Holly's, where I unsuccessfully completed a call to her. She wanted to throw her keys down to us again, but actually answered the door instead once she realized Brian had five pizza boxes.

I said hey to Darryl and Paulo, informing Paulo that the temporary crosswalk was now closed off. He put his head in his hands and said, "I hate it..." Trust me, I understand ANY ranting he has to do on the issue! We all talked about life, Vegas, walking a lot on the LONG Strip blocks, online people, chatrooms, drunkenness, dodgy stuff, seeing family members, work schedules, Holly's new job starting tomorrow, dead people, being a travel agent, working with the general public, and upcoming plans. As usual, I have none. I did almost forget my jacket, oops. Darryl called me by name when we said bye to him outside, which shouldn't really be a surprise. Brian dropped me and Paulo off at about 9:40, which is pretty good. I actually have time to blog without being rushed off to do other things!

The day started early because we all went to church - a poppyseed bagel for breakfast suited me fine. No more MINECRAFT or HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON from last night, that's for sure! It was cold and foggy this morning, but least it wasn't snowy or rainy! I snuck into the church sanctuary and sat in the very last row when we got to VCEFC via the underground parking lot. Auntie Catherine saw me on my way in because she was one of the ushers, so had to hug me hello. I talked to Pastor Dan, Sharon, Emily L., Ivan W., Billy, Stella, Elenor's sister Janet, Helen C., Benedict, and others about my eye cataract surgery recovery progress while I grabbed a spare mug from the kitchen for some coffee.

Later, we went to Swiss Chalet for Elysse's fifth birthday: reading, making mistakes, being angry, chocolate milk, quarter of a rotisserie chicken and garlic shrimp / popcorn shrimp, water, embarrassing (blowjob) positions, Dylan's church meetings, Swiss Chalet coupons, chicken tenders, fries, yummy dipping sauce, what nephews were, Costco / IKEA / Toys R Us at Lansdowne, and dropping Dylan off at church. After about half an hour at home, everyone went to a crowded Costco / IKEA / Toys R Us. No, the shopping carts weren't jungle gyms, Declan! Dylan's parents returned some stuff and we talked about safety, surgery, Deb's patients, astigmatism, DanActive yogurt, fruit, budgeting, calling people by their real names, whining, and Elysse's new HATCHIMAL for $70 at Lansdowne.

The Canucks played the Panthers at 4 today, and won 5-1. Dylan's dad made lamb steak, gai lan, and ribs for Elysse's birthday dinner, and we had chocolate cupcakes with raspberry frosting and HELLO KITTY decorations as dessert. When I thanked him for it, Declan asked why I called his grandpa "Uncle." Well, he looks like he's the same age as my dad's friends and definitely NOT my peer, so there you go! Apparently, Dylan's mom found the icing too sweet, so she gave hers to me instead. Elysse wanted to lie down on her stool to eat the long spaghetti noodles, but that's NOT A GOOD IDEA! Dylan got home in time for his parents to make the drive back to Langley, but I was upstairs on mobile trying to be as unobtrusive as possible.

I thought my BENQ computer monitor had blinked out this morning, but it just gave me a NO SIGNAL DETECTED error message, which of course I couldn't look up, so I called Eric! I tried stuff with the cables, read a lot about true crime (Max Haines!) and urban legends (Thomas Craughwell), got rid of the Hans Holzer book about ghosts since I wasn't interested in it anymore (and the print there is starting to be really small), and did some more stuff. At 4:50, I decided to try pressing the Power button AGAIN, and somehow the monitor roared back to working mode! PHEW! Of course I called white Eric to let him know about this, then called Chinese Eric to remind him about Felico's.

After COFFEE TIME, I left extra early (ugh) at 12:20 for my 1 PM rescheduled appointment with Rachel. I guess I have to take being half an hour early rather than ten minutes late, due to weird C94 scheduling. After that, I went to London Drugs and got Excel peppermint gum, and was very careful with my selection for a new wallet, eventually deciding on a $30 (and expensive!) "big" black Swiss Gear toiletry bag. At least it can fit 100 index cards, three maxipads, and a bunch of other stuff while still being wide enough for a bank envelope should I need one to compartmentalize some cash money! Speaking of cash money, I got two $5 bills in my change, which should be enough for the "extra" $10 for Andrew's final computer payment for next payday! I got home at 3:05 on a 407, and was mildly annoyed when I saw that Mom had tried calling me. I SAID I COULDN'T MAKE IT TO LUNCH! Jesus Christ!

I went out in the rainy weather at 2:10 on a 407 to buy Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa cough medicine (THE BEST!) / more stickers (PJ Masks / rewards!) / ten $2 MARTEX washcloths / on-sale NEW Merci chocolate ($8.88!) / a replacement GIBSON owl coffee mug / on-sale Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup x6 / a bunch of family birthday cards (next year, I'm going to downgrade to regular!) / on-sale GUM toothbrushes x3 / on-sale blue Dawn dish detergent. While I was at London Drugs, I mailed that KEEP CALM AND BUY BABY WIPES card to Jason and Vanessa, a birthday card with stickers for Fraser to Steph, and Jimmy's pretty early birthday card while he's still in my good books. Then I got home at 3:25 to an AWESOME email from Chinese Eric, who hopes to hang out before Chinese New Year, and says it's been a bit busy at work. Ha, definitely understandable! I told Jon that I could be there tomorrow at 4:45-5, which definitely works with his teaching schedule!

I went out at 2:40 to get more on-sale President's Choice Blue Menu Six Bean Medley cans at Shoppers Drug Mart as long as they're still 99 cents! The pharmacist next door recognized me and waved at me, so we chatted briefly while waiting for the light to change. Yeah, Richmond smells like shit again today! I got six cans of beans, two on-sale Brookside dark chocolate bags (mango-mangosteen / pomegranate), eight 99-cent White Cheddar and Broccoli Sidekicks (all the available stock on the shelf like last time!), and an on-sale Speed Stick Irish Spring original deodorant before getting home at 3:25 on a 407.

After I had COFFEE TIME and called London Drugs customer service to find out when their current sale ends on Rubbermaid dish drainers (May 28), Barry picked me up at 12:45 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I bought on-sale Classico pasta sauce x2 (Four Cheese and Tomato / Pesto), noodles, a shower pouf, Teriyaki Rice / Noodles Sidekicks, preserved vegetables, on-sale Cheemo perogies x2 (Country Mushroom and Potato / Bacon / Romano Cheese), pork and tri-treasure / lamb and onion / pork and vegetable / pork and chives JOY dumplings at the Big Crazy price (which saves me a trip out there if it's the same price), on-sale store brand paper towels, and JML chicken and mushroom noodles. I also got on-sale Western Family French Vanilla ice cream, NEW Pillsbury poutine Pizza Pops in a special edition (I love the alliteration!), NEW Pillsbury cheese pizza bites, NEW Pillsbury pepperoni pizza bites, Juzz Mee curry noodles, a BC roll for $3.99 (better than the 22-piece $10.99 assorted rolls if the expiry date is still tomorrow, May 25), Vedan noodles x2 (Spicy Mushroom / Cuttlefish and Mushroom), and on-sale Ruffles chips x3. (Loaded Potato Skins / Sour Cream and Bacon / All-Dressed) I also saw preserved Cordia seeds while I was in the Chinese jars aisle, so made a note of that to tell Citrus so he can tell his sister.

While I was at the store, I helped a random white guy with some Nissin black garlic oil noodles, and told an old grandma that her shawl looked pretty. (it had Japanese women with fans on it!) She at least thanked me! When I got home at 2:10, Barry did agree to help me with changing the batteries on the phone in my bedroom, which is good. Afterwards, I paid my Shaw bill online today, then somehow unplugged my computer speakers while trying to figure some stuff out! My cashier recognized me, and so we chatted a bit - his name is Ray, and he has a white half-beard thing. I left again at 6:30 to London Drugs, where I got a new on-sale dish drainer (April 11, 2015) on Aisle 1 / on-sale purple GUM Comfort Slide flossers since today was the last day of their being on sale currently / an on-sale Slinky toy plus an on-sale Redbox pre-historic dinosaur toy set with trees (#24359) for Ayler's birthday.

I got a much more helpful computer associate this time (yesterday's associate had told me to go to the front for checkout and didn't seem interested in customer service), who sold me a black Microsoft Wired 600 keyboard for $20. Thank goodness it worked when I got home at 8:30 (just missing a 407 and having to wait for the next one), after a mini heart attack when it initially wouldn't work to put in my password at startup! This one is quieter and much lighter, too! Time to email Harmony to see when a good time would be to drop off the gifts, or see Ayler too, I guess. NOW MY MOUSE AND KEYBOARD ARE FREE OF MIKE AND HIS TAINT!
