glowing_dragon: (OMFG Yay!)
I discovered redrum AGAIN this morning - I THOUGHT I TOOK CARE OF THIS TWO WEEKS AGO! Good thing I didn't bleed onto the bed! Called Shoppers to see if they had a toilet paper shipment, and left right after I got a YES answer at 9:10 on a 401. I remembered the brand new rear-door boarding for buses to protect against the coronavirus, but I was able to get on at the front because I had my Asian shopping cart with me, and "needed" this! While I was waiting, I definitely wanted to "social distance" myself from the smoker on the bench who was horking as well - you're SO GROSS and are MORE likely to get this virus!

I bought on-sale Heinz Zoodles, on-sale Softsoap lavender and chamomile soap refill, on-sale $2 Campbell's Hearty Vegetable Rice soup x2, on-sale $2 Knorr Sidekicks x4 (Fettuccine Alfredo / Creamy Bacon Carbonara / White Cheddar Broccoli / Creamy Parmesan), and the real reasons I went to Shoppers anyway: one small bottle of No Name bleach, President's Choice MAX SOFTNESS toilet paper, and NEW President's Choice Moroccan-Style Mint / Mint Refresher tea. Got home at 11 on a 407, which is fine by me.

Full aisle of paper products, sensibly limited to one per person!

Julie M. was on vacation and saw this map at a Pennsylvania visitor centre: Moscow and DRINKER?!

From Julie: Jacoba?!

From Julie M. and DR. PHIL: Rendy is a girl's name?!

From Julie M. and JUDGE JUDY: Karah Albers?! BAD SPELLING OF KARA! What a screenshot, hahaha!

John Walsh does good work, but why did he have to name his son Callahan Walsh?!

Reymundo Mundo?!

From TSN: Kawhi Leonard?! ALMOST sounds like coffee… or a crow going CAW! CAW!

From Julie M. and Only in Canada Memes: Poutine Pizza! Just in case you were bored of having unclogged arteries.

From Vanessa, A Website You Will Never Go To, and Kevin Crossan: Here's one way to remember how to install the new toilet paper roll. Beards are cool. Mullets are bad.

After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I went out at 4:10 on a 407 for Dad's belated 70th birthday dinner at Kwong Chow. I got a text from Jon saying that dinner was at 5:30 and they were at Granville Island (I'd already said I would be at Save-On), so I bought more (on-sale or NEW) Stagg Chili (Dynamite Hot / Southwest Chicken style) and Western Family things since Mom and Dad would be giving me a ride home anyway. Whole mushrooms, mushroom pieces and stems, hot chili con carne, original chili con carne, liquid honey, lemon juice, grated Italian Parmesan cheese, and beef / vegetable / chicken instant noodles! I still managed to get to the restaurant on time: Mom was already there and wanted me to call Jon to see if they'd left home yet. Luckily, I already knew their true whereabouts, and also knew that texting was easier than having to find a place to take a call. I always delete her voicemails, anyway. Too inconvenient...

They got to the restaurant soon enough (but not soon enough for Mom), and we ordered a while after that. Discussed the restaurant's plastic bowls NOT being for the congee (Mom...), my "stealing" an extra plate from the dish pile for Jon (which caused one of the kids to say that stealing is wrong - hahaha), music school being over, plans for tomorrow / this week, Ayler eating the fish head again, Beckett slapping the table and being blocked from the TV screen, Auntie Kwai and dementia (and Dad not wanting to take on another person), Dollarama, Summer Reading Club ("I read to you - but you read the words I don't know!"), Hiero trying some jellyfish, Holly's move impacting her taxes because she's an American citizen ($12,000?!), the growing tomato plants on the balcony, and waterslide adventures today with mint chocolate chip ice cream. We walked to Jon's place, where I learned that Beckett now knows how to climb up onto the couch. Guess I should be extra-vigilant tomorrow!

On the way home, Mom wanted me to intercede with Martin and Rich about Vacation Bible School and getting someone else to administer Ayler's medicine instead of Harmony having to travel a lot to VCEFC or wherever they'll be. Nope, I am not doing that. I'm sure Wai-Mui and the other leaders have more important things to take care of... at least I got home at 7:30 instead of maybe an hour later! Spicy tofu triangles, spicy jellyfish, green beans with beef, red bean soup, tea, kombucha tea, chicken, beef yee mein, veggie congee, fish congee - what a dinner! The usual stuff, but still good! Maybe not after I tried eating 600 grams of tortellini earlier, though...

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: A yellow sweet Korean melon, a random pair of yellow socks with "fun" designs, two Chinese posters of oxen / birds / dragons with stickers and five bookmarks, "washed Mom grapes" in a paper bag (purple grapes), a pack of four 32-page Hilroy exercise books from Staples, six Hilroy 80-page one-subject red and purple notebooks also from Staples, Korean Kwangchun Healthful roasted seaweed x10, and six cans of strawberry Milkis carbonated drinks. (Snoopy and umbrellas!)

900g of No Name elbow macaroni, 900g of No Name fettuccini, a bag of random Japanese roasted green tea, random Chinese green tea powder x4, Twinings Earl Grey tea x7, a random Chinese green tea bag, Yama Moto Yama green tea bags x8, Bigelow Orange and Spice herbal tea bags x3, a Mighty Leaf Marrakesh mint green tea bag, Bigelow Darjeeling black tea x3, and a Twinings 100% pure oolong tea bag.

Today is National Ice Cream Day, again! I showered today. It's 27 degrees and it's 6 PM! Now THIS is finally summer weather!

From Julie M. and 102.7 WEBN: Remember that level in SUPER MARIO 3 where the sun is trying to kill you? That's today.

Dr. Trentington Outhouse?!

Folorunso Fatukasi?!

Key'vantanie Coutee?!

Today is Bastille Day! I showered today - yup, I'll be at Jon's tomorrow at about 2:30 or so.

Happy Kampire?! (happy camper)

From Candy: Chicken rude and unreasonable?! I think they meant to translate "Jerk Chicken" on this menu...

From Julie M. and Only In Canada: "I really like bothering people outside Ontario and Quebec by posting pictures of bagged milk because the concept is so foreign to them and they go crazy." I actually remember bagged milk from my early 80s childhood here in BC! You had to cut the corner of the bag after putting it in the milk jug!

No more r/AskWomen for me! How is "Who has trouble pooping in a public restroom, girls?" rude and "invalidation"? SO FUCKING VAGUE! Jesus Christ, some (SJW) people need to grow a thicker skin and stop getting offended over anything and everything! When you gotta go, you gotta go! No "performance anxiety" should be involved, because who the fuck is WATCHING you do this in the public restroom?! It's not my problem if the random woman in the stall next to me has "performance anxiety" when it comes to bathroom-related things! Just GO - you'll feel better! Special snowflakes, I swear...

Barry called me unexpectedly at 11:55, but I had my phone on to wait for Dylan anyway. He said he was at my place after dropping someone else off, and thought of me and the old Panasonic inverter microwave recycling. No, I didn't want to come along, but I was grateful that he remembered and could do it right then.

I'm sorry your celebration of 420 has gotten in the way of remembering where you hid the Easter eggs.

From Just For Laughs: You can't always control who walks into your life, but you can control which window you throw them out of.

ZOMBIE JESUS: He died for your sins, but now he's come back for your brains!

This sign outside a liquor store is from Julie M. and Only in Canada: Beer is now cheaper than gas. Drink, don't drive! (SO TRUE, since gas is at least $1.60 a litre here now...)

Yay - I got all the MOTHER 3 items because of cheat codes! :D

I got two new homemade soaps, a brief note thanking me for my online Twitch support, and a Ness from Earthbound perler from Cuya in the mail yesterday - NICE! I discovered SURPRISE REDRUM this morning - UGH! Good thing I already had a pad in from yesterday's crap! So then I had to go to London Drugs AGAIN to get some much-needed bulk pads, which I should have just done yesterday while I was there anyway... sigh.

Then I had to walk to the bank to get a NEW chip-enabled debit card since the magnetic strip didn't work, and then return the Winter Creek oysters at Price Smart since I forgot that I'd banned it because I couldn't open them even with the jar opener! No, I didn't care that they couldn't resell it! The customer service worker was named Gunya - WTF?! I simply got easier-to-open and less expensive on-sale Mac's Oysters as a replacement (no more less expensive Fanny Bay oysters!), while deciding "fuck this lineup at the express lane" and going to self-checkout instead.

While I was there, I went to the liquor store to get NEW limited-edition Innis and Gunn Mangoes on the Run mango IPA / NEW Hires Cream Soda and Vodka / NEW limited-edition Snapple Spiked RaspCherry Tea Vodka. (the sale on the Snapple ends today!) Got home at 11:05 on a 407 to unload and rest a bit before going out again. While I was not feeling too terrible, I went to Richmond Centre at 2:35 on a 401 for some new shorts since an old pair met with a poop accident.

H and M did not have what I was looking for, and neither did Sportscheck with their Underarmour shorts. I went into Champs, where I lucked into a 2 for 1 sale on shorts, so of course I took advantage of it, buying two pairs of CSG Black Advancer shorts for $38.08! Then I remembered to check out Shoppers for a frozen Pad Thai meal, which they had, and it was even on sale for $3! Finally got home at 4:30 on a 401, deciding not to wait for the 407 in the hot weather with the frozen meal. Then I emailed Chinese Eric to see if we could hang out for his birthday on August 15!

When I got up today at 7:15 AM, I found that my computer wouldn't go off Hibernate Mode for some reason - I even did a hard reboot of the thing! Then I thought it was possibly the monitor going screwy AGAIN like it did in late April. I went back to bed to rest some more while thinking of the worst-case possibilities in my head (NEW MONITOR EXPENSE?!) and waiting for a decent time to leave a voicemail with White Eric. I did that at 8:30 AM (saying that I needed him to work his magic with my computer monitor again) after I noticed that the light on the monitor was still blue and blinking. He called me back at 9:05 and said that he could come over tonight after work, but I knew he wouldn't be able to make it before 6:45 (which is when I'd have had to leave to meet Chrystal), so tomorrow night is THE TIME OF HOPE! I also found my red chili pants from Sears!

I drafted my August fact statuses on index cards, had COFFEE TIME, and called FYI Doctors to get a final price on the new glasses, even if they had to call the Ministry to find out if I was covered or not. THE PRICE IS $150! Less than the $175 I thought, but still... I left in the hot weather at 2:30 for Richmond Centre, just barely managing to get the 401, and going to KFC in the food court since it's National Fried Chicken Day today. I let the cashier upsell me to two pieces of fried chicken (a thigh and drumstick) instead of one: $2.95 vs. $5.64? Then I went to the library on a crowded 410; I updated CANUCK NATION, Steph, Julie M., Jimmy, Andrew M., and HS's Discord / wondered why Debbie S. would add me on another Facebook account / tagged some statuses that needed it. I swear the Facebook status jail thing is based on IP address! Now I'm leaving to pee and then meet Chrystal for dinner. I hope I don't miss the C94! I also did NOT delete Mom and Dad's old library card number and PIN from my Important Stuff Entry, which is good - I wrote it down in my notebook, and will duplicate it later at home! Good thing they didn't change the PIN! I should have remembered it earlier!
