After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I went out at 4:10 on a 407 for Dad's belated 70th birthday dinner at Kwong Chow. I got a text from Jon saying that dinner was at 5:30 and they were at Granville Island (I'd already said I would be at Save-On), so I bought more (on-sale or NEW) Stagg Chili (Dynamite Hot / Southwest Chicken style) and Western Family things since Mom and Dad would be giving me a ride home anyway. Whole mushrooms, mushroom pieces and stems, hot chili con carne, original chili con carne, liquid honey, lemon juice, grated Italian Parmesan cheese, and beef / vegetable / chicken instant noodles! I still managed to get to the restaurant on time: Mom was already there and wanted me to call Jon to see if they'd left home yet. Luckily, I already knew their true whereabouts, and also knew that texting was easier than having to find a place to take a call. I always delete her voicemails, anyway. Too inconvenient...

They got to the restaurant soon enough (but not soon enough for Mom), and we ordered a while after that. Discussed the restaurant's plastic bowls NOT being for the congee (Mom...), my "stealing" an extra plate from the dish pile for Jon (which caused one of the kids to say that stealing is wrong - hahaha), music school being over, plans for tomorrow / this week, Ayler eating the fish head again, Beckett slapping the table and being blocked from the TV screen, Auntie Kwai and dementia (and Dad not wanting to take on another person), Dollarama, Summer Reading Club ("I read to you - but you read the words I don't know!"), Hiero trying some jellyfish, Holly's move impacting her taxes because she's an American citizen ($12,000?!), the growing tomato plants on the balcony, and waterslide adventures today with mint chocolate chip ice cream. We walked to Jon's place, where I learned that Beckett now knows how to climb up onto the couch. Guess I should be extra-vigilant tomorrow!

On the way home, Mom wanted me to intercede with Martin and Rich about Vacation Bible School and getting someone else to administer Ayler's medicine instead of Harmony having to travel a lot to VCEFC or wherever they'll be. Nope, I am not doing that. I'm sure Wai-Mui and the other leaders have more important things to take care of... at least I got home at 7:30 instead of maybe an hour later! Spicy tofu triangles, spicy jellyfish, green beans with beef, red bean soup, tea, kombucha tea, chicken, beef yee mein, veggie congee, fish congee - what a dinner! The usual stuff, but still good! Maybe not after I tried eating 600 grams of tortellini earlier, though...


Random stuff from Mom and Dad: A yellow sweet Korean melon, a random pair of yellow socks with "fun" designs, two Chinese posters of oxen / birds / dragons with stickers and five bookmarks, "washed Mom grapes" in a paper bag (purple grapes), a pack of four 32-page Hilroy exercise books from Staples, six Hilroy 80-page one-subject red and purple notebooks also from Staples, Korean Kwangchun Healthful roasted seaweed x10, and six cans of strawberry Milkis carbonated drinks. (Snoopy and umbrellas!)

900g of No Name elbow macaroni, 900g of No Name fettuccini, a bag of random Japanese roasted green tea, random Chinese green tea powder x4, Twinings Earl Grey tea x7, a random Chinese green tea bag, Yama Moto Yama green tea bags x8, Bigelow Orange and Spice herbal tea bags x3, a Mighty Leaf Marrakesh mint green tea bag, Bigelow Darjeeling black tea x3, and a Twinings 100% pure oolong tea bag.

Eric M. unexpectedly called me at 2:50 to say that Eric Ho and a few of the guys were going to watch the Toronto Raptors play the Golden State Warriors in an NBA playoff game (Game 2) at 12 Kings, and wondered if I'd like to go. I said sure, why not. (much better freedom without Jimmy around!) He said he'd pick me up around 4:30 or so, and did. While I was waiting, I discovered that he'd texted me about the hangout at noon. Oops! At least we managed to work it out in the end!

Then Eric managed to drop me off in front of the pub after using his phone to navigate his way to 12 Kings. I tried texting Chinese Eric to see where he was, but got no answer. Jeremy came in a few minutes later and we managed to find Chinese Eric and Randal while white Eric was parking. After saying hi, I was still not impressed, so told him to answer his fucking texts, in those words. He said that he'd been talking to Randal, but it's TIME-SENSITIVE! "WHERE ARE YOU?" should be answered IMMEDIATELY! UGH! Yes, I'm being a hypocrite about this. Oh well. Randal gave me a LOOK, but whatever. At least we can be casual acquaintances now, which is okay by me. Eric implied that he wasn't going to invite me, but since Christon was dragging Alice along, he thought of me. Gee, thanks!

We talked about Yellow Dog Play Dead IPA, sharing a platter of nachos / olives / jalapenos / cheese eventually (we paid Chinese Eric back $4.50 each), Obama being in the building for the basketball game, my Reddit mobile being VERY SLOW and not loading (but it eventually did a while later), instant noodles, spicy noodles not good for the stomach, Christon and Alice's fried food, Eric's club sandwich, current events, Jon organizing this but not making it because of teaching, and Nathan being back in town till Christon's wedding, the CFL and BC Lions games / tickets, Jeremy's brother Mark doing well in Seattle, and keeping in touch with people online. When I noticed that Randal was reading The New Evil: Understanding the Emergence of Modern Violent Crime (Michael H. Stone, Gary Brucato, Ann W. Burgess), I had to show him MY current reading material: The Most Evil Women in History (Shelley Klein) - HAHAHA! Randal mentioned that he'd thought of me while picking his book up at the library, and Jeremy laughed at the coincidence, because great minds think alike!

Chinese Eric wasn't impressed that the Raptors lost 109-104, but nobody else in the pub to watch the game was, either. He also owes me an extra 50 cents because he didn't carry cash or expect me to have the London Drugs receipt for the Indomie Mi Goreng Chitato chips. We finally left about an hour after the game, at 8:30. Those stairs at the pub are not disability-friendly since they have no handrail, forcing me to jump the last step, LIKE I DID LAST TIME ON MARCH 12! It wasn't too far to the car, which is fine. Eric got a text message while he was driving into Richmond, which he hoped wasn't Chinese Eric texting him that he was lost on the way to his own car. He said he could give me a ride to Christon's wedding (which is on the same day as Mike Kwan's), but that I'd have to remind him closer to the date since it's so far away now. I totally understand!

I hung around Deb and Dylan's today since the paint dude was coming by to finish up whatever he did yesterday, and he left at 10:30. SO EARLY! Managed to use up a lot of time by being on Discord and Reddit mobile, then ate my packed lunch of leftovers from last night: chicken wings and fish! I had a little hiccup when Rachel called at 2:30-ish as we had planned, but that was quickly rectified. Thank goodness that the paint guy had left by then! Earlier, Steph had tried to call my home line - nope, didn't work!

Dylan didn't see me when he came in with his electric bike, so we talked briefly before I went upstairs. Turns out he tried to nap on the couch for a while before Deb and the kids got home. Declan showed me his toys in his little alcove: A Pokemon Beyblade and orange stadium! Never mind the tent! We had a slightly later dinner: rotini pasta with meatballs, tomato sauce, chicken cordon bleu, and Sleeman's Honey Brown Lager! I went upstairs after that, then Elysse came up later to convince me to find Declan since they were playing tag or something - sure, let's go find him! He ended up being under the kitchen table, not in the closets or bathroom. At least it seems they like me!

When Andrew M. came over at 11 AM to do the computer case swap, I definitely gave him the parking pass. We talked about the microwaves, wiping the dirty counter (I did 90% of it myself with a sponge), Ziploc bags, bowls, screws, Teresa, wires, cables, personal drama, my router not working for an Internet connection after the computer case swap was done, troubleshooting via phone (which did not work), my coffee, Windows making a device driver update sound every time I moved my mouse (which didn't happen before the swap, either), and my calling Eric later. Chinese Eric called me at 2:35 while I was reading ROCK AND ROLL'S MOST WANTED, and said that he might not make it because of some extra work stuff - ugh! Kevin called me at 3 to personally wish me a happy birthday since he would actually be in Surrey, for which I thanked him. Yep, lamb would definitely be on the menu for tonight! As he said, you can get chicken anywhere!

Eric called me back at 4:30 to get more details, and since he was coming here anyway, I said he could come here at 6:30 or so... he was only seven minutes late, and noted that the router seemed overheated. I left at 6:55 for Felico's after MORE COFFEE TIME, and packed the parking pass so it would be slightly LESS hassle upon coming back here to figure things out. I had his birthday Lindt Excellence dark chocolate bars (Madagascar / Pink Peppercorn) and birthday card, for sure this time! Talked to white Eric, Chinese Eric, and Jeremy about Chrystal's unknown whereabouts, the NCIX breach, Memory Express, Jeremy's birthday card for me which fit me (nice!), Reddit, Mark's wedding, Rochester in New York, Jeremy's cousin in Edmonton, Victoria, Redmond, the RCMP, Skype, Discord, emojis ("that eggplant was 100!" "let's talk about something else, Mom..."), my parents using WhatsApp and NOT WeChat (probably), and Nathan.

We also discussed Christon being engaged (and Steph's "WHAT?!" reaction), Eric Ho mixing up MSN Messenger and Facebook Messenger, Mom thinking I was a "Hotmail expert" back in Vegas in 2012, my router problems, MAC addresses, Linux, ICQ still being around these days in Russia, my traditional lamb dinner, lamb stew, moussaka, and giving Jeremy a ride to Aberdeen Station. Eric and I got back here at 8:40, and for some reason, the router worked after a bit of fiddling. Okay, then! (afterwards, it blipped out AGAIN for a thankfully brief time)

He also fixed my mouse sound issue and the speaker wire problem - PHEW! Then I called Chrystal AGAIN after he'd left at 9-ish (I'd tried when we got in), finally getting her on the phone. She apologized profusely and said that she was half an hour late and really lost - she still could have come in and said "hey guys!" since we didn't start ordering till 7:30 or so anyway. After all that, she said that she had to make it up to me, so Friday evening at the usual place and time it is, especially if it's easier for her! PHEW! Eric M. thanked me for the birthday card and chocolate, and noted that he was glad Chrystal was okay.

Chinese Eric emailed me, white Eric, Jeremy, Jon, Christon, and Randal this morning about a Stanley Cup Final hangout somewhere - Washington Capitals and Las Vegas Golden Knights! I scanned the email (which had possible scheduling), but didn't see where the hangout was going to be, so of course I emailed everyone to ask where it was. Chinese Eric actually was on the ball with his email and replied to say that it was going to be at Jeremy's place. ("it has been brought to my attention," indeed) Well, I'm not giving up my Mike's Hard Root Beer for this one, so I'll just buy snacks later on in the week. Easy!

After I had COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 10:30 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got on-sale almond milk, shrimp and wonton Doll instant noodles, on-sale Uncle Ben's rice x3 (Vegetable Medley / Wholegrain Brown / Spicy Wholegrain and Quinoa with Chili), 90 GUM flossers with fluoride and Vitamin E, on-sale Bul Jumppong noodles x2, Bah Kut tea noodles, JOY dumplings x3 (Pork and Tri-Treasure / Lamb and Onion / Pork and Vegetable), NEW Samyang Cheese Hot Chicken Flavor ramen, bottled water x24, spicy duck tongue, spicy chicken feet with taro, shredded spicy pig ears, on-sale store brand freezer bags with a double zipper, and Excel Polar Ice gum x3. Got Erik's sister Lindsay as my cashier again, too. When I got home at 11:45, I chilled for a bit before doing some laundry.

I was up at 6 AM, so it was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT!

I dreamed that I somehow flushed the toilet dry, which resulted in a flooded bathroom (?!) right before I had to leave to meet my family somewhere in Bellingham. Not that meeting them would have happened anyway, although I watched a show on separating conjoined triplets to de-stress later! "Where's Daddy?" "He's before God." No! Tell your kids that Daddy is driving a tour bus into the States for a music convention, which is the truth!

I also forgot to pack my passport and was turned away at the beauty kiosk with bus stops right before the border. I also had to walk a bit before finding just the right shortcut to go into Richmond and home. Then I emailed / messaged her sister to let her know, but my mom would still be PISSED. Thank goodness it was just a dream!
