There was a Shaw outage last night when I was going to bed anyway, and I'm surprised there haven't been more because everyone is online (more) nowadays. I also read that Red Cat Records on Main will be closing permanently due to the coronavirus - HA! JIMMY NEVER GOT TO SEE IT!

After COFFEE TIME and calling the Lost Property Office too early for them to receive lost Translink items at 1 (UGH!), I went out at 11:10 on a 401 to go to the Gloucester Café to meet Auntie Catherine for my last belated birthday meal, taking the 15 Olympic Village bus down at Bay 2 across the street rather than walk the seven blocks in the iffy weather. So I was ten minutes late - it still was reasonably on time for me! I scanned the restaurant and finally saw her sitting at a table - she hugged me hello, and we eventually ordered two dishes to share with our individual hot milk tea. Seafood spaghetti in a creamy dill sauce AND chicken pineapple satay fried rice with plenty of shrimp and egg! No, I didn't want to take the leftovers with me!

She talked about church and noticed that I didn't need my glasses, so she was surprised - she didn't know about my eye surgeries! We talked about Mattias and Marcus - they're 11 and 9 now?! Chung Yan still watches Canucks hockey, so YAY for that! Auntie Catherine gave me a surprise 100% red silk scarf (probably an Indian scarf), so that was totally good! It was pretty rainy when we left at 1:20 (Harmony texted to say I could come at 3:30 or so), but I assured her that I'd be fine without an umbrella, and definitely didn't want to go to the North Shore or some other Vancouver Public Library! I just killed time at Oakridge with the free wifi, found out that I'd been BANNED from TwoX Chromosomes because of the too-inclusive special snowflakes ("not all women have vaginas" is very weird), and left at 3 on a 41st Avenue bus (then a 3) to get to the house at 3:35.

Beckett was surprisingly awake and definitely wanted to play with me, the baby pop-up toy (he's now strong enough to make it pop up himself once or twice), and the various balloons scattered around the room. He also threw the plastic blocks at me, but I didn't hold it against him. Hiero laughed when he saw that, so I said with a very serious face that it was NOT FUNNY, and let Harmony take care of the rest. Ayler had to read the Monkeys book with me, and Hiero wanted me to read a book that was at least different than the ones I'd read on Sunday. Beckett wanted to see what we were doing / be close to me, but his brothers didn't like that. I had to give him a few hugs because he was upset! I let Ayler use my cell phone calculator after he said that I was still better at math than he is (debatable) and Beckett said, "Na na na NAAAAAAAAA!", which is what he says when he REALLY wants something! (like the Rice Krispies, a couple of which I put in his mouth at snacktime, which he didn't seem to mind)

Speaking of being serious, Beckett had an extremely serious expression on his face when he was signing "MORE" at dinner. He did get more food, but started throwing it around, even decorating my red bling sweater with macaroni and cheese. (we also had squash, turkey, stuffing, and other Thanksgiving leftovers) Ayler asked me why drinking prune juice meant that you had to be on the toilet all afternoon (because I told him that), so I told him that there was a lot of fiber in prunes. He seemed to accept that. After Beckett cried and was let go from the table to crawl around, he knocked over Ayler's silver water cup, causing Ayler to get all wet and then cry and melt down himself.

Beckett threw the balloons around and said what sounded like "cup" - at least, he had the hard C sound down! Ayler wanted to regale me with piano technique, so I let him tell me about it while listening very seriously. I enjoy it when he tells me about his interests! Hiero wanted me to read to him, but I said that I had to watch Beckett to make sure he didn't kill himself. We also discussed global warming in a kid-appropriate way. I left at 7:20 and finally got home at 8:40. The Canucks played Detroit tonight at 7, and won 5-1.

After COFFEE TIME, Corey got back to me on Discord and confirmed that yes, he did use Line to talk to people in Taiwan. I eventually managed to install the app successfully on both my phone and computer - PHEW! I also talked to Nate and Darryl, which went well. Later, I left at 4:30 to get to Dublin Crossing at Marine Drive Station. Turns out I was there early, but fought with the wi-fi connection when it seemed to be fine on Monday. Oh well... I went in the pub after texting back and forth with Ian, and got our table all nice and ready. There, the connection seemed more steady about 90% of the time. Phew.

I FINALLY GOT TO MEET NATE! IT WAS AWESOME! We talked about Paulo and what he's doing, Steve, Darryl and how he's fine with us and LOVES the big server drama now that he's out of there, his thanking me for not being like Holly (I let them talk about whatever), Stefan and his girlfriend, how things like money and a relationship do not magically fix your problems, his girlfriend, Paris, the Asian red-face gene, Havarti, Ontario, hydro, therapy, and what certain people needed to hear. I also talked to Laura, Matt, Ian, Sarah, Megan, and some others. I JUST MISSED THE BRIGHOUSE TRAIN because the elevator took too long to come down from the train platform! JESUS CHRIST! At least it was a nice evening and I FINALLY got home at 9:55, just in time for the daily holidays!

I had a chocolate muffin, coffee, and pear slices as breakfast before Deb dropped me off near Brighouse Station. The one-week followup went pretty well at the eye clinic: NO MORE GLASSES FOR NOW! I decided to get a NEW McDonalds Chocolate Nanaimo Bar McFlurry at the Broadway McDonalds, but that was very disappointing... YUCKY coconut flakes! Then I went back to Deb and Dylan's on a 407, but checked out the nearby M and M Meat Shops since I'm rarely out this way: Cilantro and Lime basmati rice, Brown Basmati and Wild Rice, and Long Grain White Rice in microwaveable packages. I saw some BAD SPELLING at the Chateau Quality Drycleaners: HOW DO YOU MISSPELL "COMFORTERS"?!

Eventually, I had fried rice with chicken and sriracha sauce for flavor as a real lunch. Vicky, Jason, baby Lucas, Pastor Dan, and white Eric all came over tonight for dinner: Pizza Hut Supreme pizza x2, quinoa salad, Build Your Own Taco from Costco, Welch's white grape juice, boxed Pinot Grigio wine, French bread, prosciutto, coffee, tea, cantaloupes, and Two Bite Brownies! We talked about small group memories, moving a lot, kids picking up things quickly, FLINCH the show, the swearing Roomba, the Victoria Day long weekend, Christon's wedding being the same day as Mike Kwan's (August 31), remembering wedding anniversaries, Sharon, and church stuff.

Eric agreed to give me a ride home, which we reached at 9:40. He definitely helped me wheel my stuff into my place! When I left Deb and Dylan's, Deb gave me some frozen food because Dylan was thinking of me. Walmart's Your Fresh Market shepherd's pie and chicken Parmesan are good, but technically expired since the expiry date is May 7. Guess I'll have to eat them both soon-ish!

Today is Mother's Day 2019. I was slightly awoken by the sun in the window, then by quick footsteps outside the bedroom door. Later, it turned out to be Declan and Elysse running into their parents' room to wish Deb a Happy Mother's Day at 5 AM! SO EARLY, kids! We had a rushed breakfast of cranberry and raisins Post cereal with milk and Nutella croissants before church. Elysse wondered if I was "too fat" to fit into the backseat of the van because I sat up front with Dylan instead. WHAT THE HELL?! First, I'm an alien, and now I'm fat?! Her parents made her apologize to me and said that was not very nice and hurt my feelings. Declan said that I wasn't fat - thank you! We actually had great parking luck across the street from the church at 9:45 - nobody had taken up all the good spots before the liquor store!

Church service was fine - I like how Pastor Dan acknowledged the strained relationships that some people may have with their mothers on this day. I caught up with Emily, Auntie Catherine, Stella, Joe T., Benedict, Rosenda, Helen C., David Marr, Lawrence, Jason, Vicky, baby Lucas, Martin T., and some other people. I only had to interact with Mom for a minute; thank goodness I could use eye surgery as an excuse for not doing anything for Mother's Day OR her birthday on the 14th! We eventually got going and eventually went to Kyoto Takenoko at Seafair Centre for lunch, hoping that fussy Elysse would eat SOMETHING. I had the spicy miso ramen and one gyoza.

While we were at Shoppers afterwards looking at Minions toothbrushes and other things, I decided that I might as well buy three yellow, black, and salmon BATH RETREAT shower puffs since Price Smart hadn't had any when I was last there. I guess I'll have to live with the string not fitting over the shower head properly. We had lamb chops, white wine, bok choy, mussels, and rice for dinner while Dylan's parents were over. Later, it was CHUTES AND LADDERS time with Popsicles and Coke! Deb and Dylan had finally completed a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle a while ago and wanted to hang it up in the living room. NICE!

My parents are on a cruise and didn't let me know, so I wasted my time calling them to get their voicemail multiple times yesterday! Then Dad emailed me to say that they could call me from the shore at 8:30, but then emailed me again at 8 to say that they were still on the ship. Since I don't want to deal with stressful and inconvenient phone calls in the morning when I'm trying to shower and get out the door, I just PMed Brian about it instead since Paulo said he could be good for this sort of thing. To be fair, we had discussed it yesterday just in case. Thank goodness for friends since he agreed to do this for me! He doesn't even have to stay for the entire four hours! I also got to text Pothead Mike for the first time, so YAY! (and talked to Jon via FB Messenger for a bit about the surgery and other things)

THERE WAS ANOTHER WATER SHUTOFF TODAY - NOT IMPRESSED! After I had COFFEE TIME and fielded an early-morning phone call from Megan at the Burrard eye clinic (Dr. Wise wants to see me this week to check her lens choice?! Friday it is...), Barry picked me up at 11 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got bananas, on-sale Silk vanilla almond milk, on-sale Nissin noodles x4 (XO Sauce / seafood / black garlic oil / sesame oil), Koka Noodles x2 (Spicy Black Pepper / Tomato), on-sale Uncle Ben's rice x3 (Smokey Flavor / Tomato and Herb / Mushroom Wild rice), MAGGI LETUP / Maggi Kari Letup noodles, and one litre of NEW on-sale Yamasa soy sauce which expires in late October 2020 (I was able to pull off the annoying tab in the store!) / NEW Allen's Vinegar 500 mL of malt vinegar (crammed with the white vinegar and red vinegar on the Western side of Price Smart) / 700 grams of on-sale Laoganma spicy chili crisp oil for DUMPLING SAUCE! (my jar opener thankfully worked on that when I got home!)

Also bought on-sale Brookside Chocolate x2 (Blackberry and Honey / Pomegranate), NEW on-sale Peace Tea cans x2 (Sno-Berry / Mango Green Tea), Lucky Me! Mami Beef Noodles, one Stouffer's Sauté Sensations microwaveable meal (Grilled Chicken Teriyaki), Western Family frozen veggies in the BIG bag, NEW Olympic Dairy small yogurt tubs x3 (Fig Honey / Citrus Cardamom / Smoked Applewood Vanilla - each 325 grams), Puritan canned Irish stew, on-sale JOY dumplings x5 for the Big Crazy price of $4.99 per bag (the last five available - Pork and Vegetable x2 / Lamb and Onion x2 / Pork and Chive), NEW on-sale Tropical Salsa Kettle Chips, and on-sale mint Oreo cookies. I think I'm looking forward to all the snack food! Haha!

Additional purchases: On-sale Old Dutch Humpty Dumpty cheese sticks (Habanero and Blue Cheese!), on-sale Excel spearmint Soft Chew gum x3, on-sale Western Family bottled water x12 (gotta keep ahead of all these sudden and unexpected water shutoffs around here lately...), Ben and Jerry's Moophoria ice cream x2 (Peanut Butter Cookie Dough to replace the one that Paulo ate last week on Thursday even though he says he owes me / NEW Caramel Cookie Fix), NEW on-sale Hardbite chips x3 (Sweet Ghost Pepper / Avocado and Lime / Black Sea Salt), NEW on-sale Ruffles Flaming Hot BBQ chips, and NEW Campbell's Everyday Gourmet Asparagus and Sweet Basil soup. I got Ray as my cashier, and Barry made a comment about how it took me two hours at the store. I wasn't expecting to take 20 minutes to find the malt vinegar, no thanks to some employees there! After I got home at 12:55, I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online. Then I waited out the water shutoff - it was back on by 5:30, THANK GOODNESS!

After COFFEE TIME, I had to get ready to leave by 11 for Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot at Lansdowne for a lunch with Mom and Dad. Fatty beef, lamb shoulder, Napa cabbage, white noodles, tofu, yams, vegetable and pork dumplings, deep-fried chicken wings, cod fillets, shrimp balls, beef balls, fish balls, tiger prawns, broth, an iced sour plum drink, and tea! Mom complained that they had seen bus stops around my place - yeah, but that doesn't mean they are in service right now! Dad "helped" with my phone's data and wifi settings. Yes, I know Harmony's family birthday is the 10th somewhere. I'll confirm things with Jon in a few days; no need to rush and be impatient about things! They dropped me off at London Drugs, so I walked home and got in at 12:45.

I found my charger on the drawer knob yesterday morning, then somehow slept with both that AND the plug in the bed last night... oops! Deb asked if I wanted to hang around their house today while everyone was at school and work, or if I wanted to go home for the day. I said I'd go home, thinking of using the computer instead of mobile to be FASTER! So after a breakfast of a Nutella sandwich and milk, and almost tripping over Declan on the stairs, she and Declan drove me back here. Good thing, too - I definitely had to poop at some point! I also had coffee here to save time... but I'd have pooped at the townhouse if I'd HAD to! Wait - Deb even packed me a lunch of last night's leftovers of lamb steak, ribs, and gai lan?! SO NICE!

From Melissa and Buzzfeed Canada: Unicorn poop marshmallows!

glowing_dragon: (Vancouver Canucks hockey!)
The day started early because we all went to church - a poppyseed bagel for breakfast suited me fine. No more MINECRAFT or HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON from last night, that's for sure! It was cold and foggy this morning, but least it wasn't snowy or rainy! I snuck into the church sanctuary and sat in the very last row when we got to VCEFC via the underground parking lot. Auntie Catherine saw me on my way in because she was one of the ushers, so had to hug me hello. I talked to Pastor Dan, Sharon, Emily L., Ivan W., Billy, Stella, Elenor's sister Janet, Helen C., Benedict, and others about my eye cataract surgery recovery progress while I grabbed a spare mug from the kitchen for some coffee.

Later, we went to Swiss Chalet for Elysse's fifth birthday: reading, making mistakes, being angry, chocolate milk, quarter of a rotisserie chicken and garlic shrimp / popcorn shrimp, water, embarrassing (blowjob) positions, Dylan's church meetings, Swiss Chalet coupons, chicken tenders, fries, yummy dipping sauce, what nephews were, Costco / IKEA / Toys R Us at Lansdowne, and dropping Dylan off at church. After about half an hour at home, everyone went to a crowded Costco / IKEA / Toys R Us. No, the shopping carts weren't jungle gyms, Declan! Dylan's parents returned some stuff and we talked about safety, surgery, Deb's patients, astigmatism, DanActive yogurt, fruit, budgeting, calling people by their real names, whining, and Elysse's new HATCHIMAL for $70 at Lansdowne.

The Canucks played the Panthers at 4 today, and won 5-1. Dylan's dad made lamb steak, gai lan, and ribs for Elysse's birthday dinner, and we had chocolate cupcakes with raspberry frosting and HELLO KITTY decorations as dessert. When I thanked him for it, Declan asked why I called his grandpa "Uncle." Well, he looks like he's the same age as my dad's friends and definitely NOT my peer, so there you go! Apparently, Dylan's mom found the icing too sweet, so she gave hers to me instead. Elysse wanted to lie down on her stool to eat the long spaghetti noodles, but that's NOT A GOOD IDEA! Dylan got home in time for his parents to make the drive back to Langley, but I was upstairs on mobile trying to be as unobtrusive as possible.

After we had lunch at Kwong Chow and finally took care of the insurance, I did some shopping at the Broadway London Drugs. Bought 400 Mead index cards, store brand all-purpose cleaner, a three-inch Avery binder for my important documents (a definite upgrade!), a red $2 MARTEX washcloth, a GUM toothbrush, and two dark blue $2 GOODY toothbrush covers. Got home at 1:40 to a Purolator notice (ugh), a phone call from Dr. Wise's office, and some other mail, so I had to deal with all of that.

I went to the pharmacy next door at 1:50 to refill my prescription early; yes, even Adam commented on it!

I left at 5:55 to get two 3-subject Hilroy notebooks in green and light blue (for home use and road use) from London Drugs, returning home at 6:40 on a late 407. CHOCOLATE AND BATHROOM REPLACEMENTS GALORE AGAIN, and today's date is a palindrome: 8/1/18! Yesterday, Frances C. emailed me to say that she couldn't make it to Felico's because of work, which is fine. I went out at 12 on a 401 so I could buy Campbell's Chunky Soup (Jerk Chicken with Vegetables / Butter Chicken with Vegetables), NESCAFÉ instant coffee (December 16, 2017), a NEW on-sale limited edition Oh Henry! Canada / Oh Henry 4:25 Pop-Up candy bar, barkTHINS snacking dark chocolate with pumpkin seeds for Thanksgiving dinner, NEW limited edition Doritos Late Night Fully-Loaded Nacho chips, and HALLS assorted mint cough drops. I went out at 12:20 on a 414 to do some shopping for on-sale Halloween candy and Advent calendars. COFFEE TIME while I'm still figuring out why Jimmy blocked me instead of just talking to me about what I did...... I should have posed it as a hypothetical a while ago!

After COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 8:30 AM so we could go to the UBC Eye Care Centre on Willow at 9:15 AM for an eye measurement scan because of my dense cataract. RED LIGHTS IN FRONT OF MY EYES! SMELLING SKIN! The technician asked where my parents were and why they weren't with me... I CAN TAKE CARE OF THINGS MYSELF, AND MY RIDE IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

Barry and I talked about the rush-hour traffic, the Royal Bank kiosk machine that I noticed yesterday inside Shoppers, changing the payday shopping appointment plans to THURSDAY instead of Wednesday at 9:30 AM (gets me out of going to Dinesty with the parents!), his ongoing Wednesday appointments at 11, the RDSP stuff, and music. I got home at 10:10, and he helped me move the bedframe support back inside from where the cleaners left it outside where I'd bump into it. OUCH! I still can't close my bedroom door fully, though.

While I remembered, I emailed Eric about the construction zone and consequent road closures as a reminder for Sunday's ride to Jeremy's. He replied to say that he has a cold, so might not be okay for Sunday - UGH! The Canucks played the Wild at 5 today, and lost 6-2! I also discovered that SOMEONE put my Not Always Right / Not Always Right / Not Always Working / Not Always Romantic / Not Always Related / Not Always Learning / Not Always Friendly / Not Always Hopeless / Not Always Legal / Not Always Healthy / Unfiltered / Popular Disqus account on a commenting timeout! WHAT THE FUCK?! NOT ALWAYS FUN! Too bad - I've been on there since September 2008, thanks to my ex-friends David K. and Candace! MORE THAN A DECADE!

I went to the pharmacy next door at 1:30 to refill my prescription, showered, and did laundry today. Then I went to H and M to see if I could get sweatpants. No luck at all, even when I dragged an associate across the store! At least now I have the phone number and (mow that I'm home) the proper tag numbers for my preferred style of sweatpants! 604-279-1811 AND 063 658 68! When I got home and organized stuff, I called the store - they don't have that one because it's popular / best-selling, but will have a shipment in very soon, and said I should call in the late afternoon or early evening. Okay, then!

I got on-sale Arm and Hammer 50-load laundry detergent and store brand garbage bags at Shoppers, and on-sale bulk pads x2 (saving $1 per package) at London Drugs (just missing the 407) before hauling the heavy stuff home at 2:50 on a 401, having to get off one stop earlier because of the road closures and construction! Gotta remind white Eric about that soon... I also found a random Bench / Body men's underwear in her dried laundry. o_O

I got this error message on Discord this morning. 50 new messages since 4 PM on DECEMBER 31, 1969?! Apparently, it's a common default date for programming. (not for dates, but date-time integers) AKA 0 would be Dec. 31, 1969 at X PM... 10000 would be like Jan. 1 at Y PM. January 1, 1970 00:00:00 UTC was the beginning of time... for computers that use C-based time systems that is. ... which also happens to be 1969 December 31 4:00:00 PM PST. After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 6:25 to meet Chrystal at London Drugs at 7; it didn't matter if she was late because I'd technically been late as well, getting to the station at 7:05. After telling her that Original Joe's and Chronic Tacos were both closed, I said we might as well walk along Broadway till we saw something that caught my eye. Yes, I definitely knew she was treating me! I knew there was a Cactus Club around there, and I was correct when we got to Broadway and Ash. We talked about sitting on the patio, her Baja fish tacos (I had one) and my tuna poke bowl, water, her nephew Ethan wanting to hit people thanks to preschool, her baby nephew Benjamin, yesterday's eyeball ultrasound and my parents' idea of an Oakridge "ride," our bad sense of direction, Thanksgiving, my parents' upcoming "Tom and Tom" trip to Minnesota, the Canucks, New Zealand, Australia, Mike T.'s birthday the other day (they all went to eat sushi), their going to SURREY instead of RICHMOND on Sunday (thus how they got lost and went on the wrong exit), the computer / router / computer case stuff on Sunday, my having lamb at Felico's, surprise birthday cards, and therapy.

After dinner, I wanted to also check out the nearby Book Warehouse to get the newest Bathroom Reader #31 if possible since the website said it was in stock, and I did! Uncle John's Actual and Factual Bathroom Reader #31 (Uncle John's Bathroom Reader Annual), baby! I told Chrystal about what had happened last year with the "nearest" post office bullshit before we went our separate ways at the Canada Line station, where I just missed a Brighouse train. At Broadway Station, a businesswoman wanted me to hold the elevator doors for her - instead, she managed to squeeze herself in when the doors were closing. The train wasn't even coming into the station, and the other guy on the elevator seemed to have issues of his own, like wearing sandals outside on a cool evening. Some old guy wanted me to move on the Brighouse bench while I was actively reading - NO, because he could have just walked to the end of the short bench! When I finally got home at 9:30 on a 407, I finally checked my mail to find a funny "Happy Birthday, Tree Killer" birthday card from Steph and Lisa, which included Fraser's and Henry's handprints - NICE! Thank goodness that I had peace and quiet to do what I had to do when I got home!

Why not? I'll just have to remember to go there on October 1 and some other date during the month. :D

After I got Barry to swap my microwaves for me (1000 watts is better than 700 watts!), I fielded phone calls from Dr. Wise's office (DUH - of course I know about the ultrasound appointment since I booked it myself yesterday), and then paid my Shaw bill online at home. Then I left at 5:30 to grab the mooncake flavor names from Price Smart, just managing to get the 401, which waited as I ran across the street on my green light! After that, I went to London Drugs to get NEW on-sale Lindt Excellence Dark Chocolate x3 (Crunchy Cacao / Pink Peppercorn / Hazelnut), Goody toothbrush covers x7, and a smaller 300-page red Hilroy notebook for my smaller reusable bag. Got back at 6:20, just managing to get the 407 - PHEW! GOOD TIMING AND BUS EFFICIENCY! At least I can get a ride tomorrow to St. Paul's from Mom and Dad...

I also technically stole on-sale store brand bottled water x48, but it was at the bottom of the shopping cart, and the cashier never looked there. Good thing that Barry and I were able to leave the store, haha. Apparently, I was lucky that he even managed to get the wheeled dolly - YAY! After that, I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online at home.

After I had COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 11:50 and we went banking and to Price Smart, where I bought Palmolive Ultra Strength dish detergent for that computer chair which now has grease on it, as per Andrew's and my phone call on Friday about Teunis moving to Saskatchewan because they can buy a house there with saved money / swapping out the computer case for a smaller one in September since it's still part of our deal. I got NEW Nissin prawn noodles x2 / NEW Nissin soya sauce and pork noodles x2 / on-sale Western Family beef noodles x2 / on-sale Western Family vegetable noodles x2, JOY dumplings x4 (Pork and Tri-Treasure, Lamb and Onion, Pork and Vegetable, Pork and Chive), Winter Creek raw oysters x2 for Raw Oyster Day (expires on Aug. 6), NEW on-sale Peace Tea iced tea x4 (Razzleberry raspberry / Lemon Love lemon tea / Caddy Shack tea and lemonade / Greenest of all Teas green tea) and on-sale Earth's Own unsweetened almond milk.

Then my debit card got declined a couple of times because I couldn't swipe my chip card, and the magnetic stripe couldn't be read! I think I'll take Barry's advice and go to Coast Capital sometime so I can figure out this shit. After that, I paid my Shaw bill online at home. That also gave me some stress because the bill was twice as high as it should have been, and I had to make a new Shaw ID and secure password at their website! Damn technology!

After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, finishing my Chicken pasta Sidekicks which expired on April 10, and finishing both of my grape Gatorade bottles which expired TOMORROW (1.2 litres with lots of peeing!), I left at 4 to meet Jon's family at the Oakridge Safeway at 4:45, but of course they were late. Jon says that they have a van now - SWEET! We went to Golden Spring Restaurant for Mother's Day / Mom's 70th birthday. Ayler tried grabbing my hat, but I said no. Later, he said that he could stay up later if he had energy - yeah, that sounds about right.

Harmony decided to enforce her "no screens" rule on the entire front room of Golden Spring Restaurant (which turned out to be right near the old VCEFC) because Hiero always wanted to see what was on the TV - you couldn't even HEAR it! I had to put up with Auntie Teresa, but at least Auntie Eva dropped me off at King Edward station later. Lamb, (boneless) rock cod, celery, green beans with beef, crispy chicken, rice with eggs and scallops, onions, Chinese root soup, red bean soup, and "Bring Your Own Dessert" New Zealand Manuka honey chocolate! 12 rolls of Western Family toilet paper, a floral sweater vest, and $5 cash! I got home at 8:25 after opting for a leisurely walk home from Brighouse Station. Now I think it's time to relax with Jimmy, as per usual. :D

HAPPY EASTER! It's also April Fools Day today - BOO!

The computer restarted at 6 AM! I went out to Shoppers Drug Mart at 1:20 on a 407, and bought on-sale Marketplace Cuisine meals (Butternut Squash Ravioli / Tortilla Crusted Fish / Vermont white macaroni and cheese / Sesame Chicken), on-sale canola oil, on-sale President's Choice milk chocolate eggs for Chrystal. Then I went to London Drugs for Easter chocolate which was more to my taste: on-sale Russell Stover chocolate bunnies (marshmallow / peanut butter / crispy), an on-sale Ferrero Rocher chocolate squirrel, an on-sale Aero chocolate lamb, an on-sale Smarties chocolate egg, on-sale M&M peanut butter chocolate eggs, on-sale Reese's mini peanut butter cups, and Lindt chocolate carrots! Got home at 2:20 on another 407 in the windy weather, so had some hot chocolate while throwing things away and cutting the tops off the PEPPA PIG sticker sheets for Fraser so they could actually fit in a fucking envelope.

SHOWER TIME! I heard a trap snap shut last night, so called Barry at 8:35 AM this morning to let him know. I saw that it was a big mouse and had flipped the trap upside down, killing itself in the process. He came by at 9:10 AM to remove the dead mouse and set up a new trap with peanut butter, finding a defective one in the process.

COFFEE TIME! Barry came by at 11:30 to help me set up some mousetraps with peanut butter, stuff steel wool in that bathroom hole, and said to remind him to bring a flashlight sometime next week. The Canucks played the Blackhawks at 5:30 today, and FINALLY won a game! 5-2!

I talked to Jimmy and Helen this morning about Tommy since Helen is seriously thinking of blocking Tommy. Helen was very surprised when I told her exactly what Tommy had called me, and told him that she had no time for his childish behavior. EXACTLY! Apparently, Jimmy and Helen are going to be at the same game at some point - good for them! Kate is also going to help me with the rodents on Monday, apparently - NICE!

I called Barry at 8:35 AM to tell him about the mouse on the glue trap which I discovered last night. When he came by at 11:15, he said that it was STILL MOVING! We both heard it squeak, so I wanted him to just take it out of here as fast as possible. I left for Jon's at 2:40 today after DOUBLE COFFEE TIME (stopping by Kam Do Bakery for a BBQ pork bun) with the Paqui Haunted Ghost Pepper chips, Ragusa Noir chocolate bar, heart-shaped Ferrero Rocher chocolates, Harmony's early birthday card, and the Alter Eco Burnt Caramel / Salt and Malt / Blackout / Brown Butter chocolate bars. (she thanked me for it later - Jon said his face would melt off with all those chips!) I had to wait a few minutes for them to get home from school, and Ayler immediately wanted to show me his "100 Days of School" pasta craft and something else. He's definitely learning to write and to draw flowers!

They played with toy trains, read Robert Munsch and other books, ate hummus / banana bread / seashell pasta (they could NOT have my white wine or spicy green sauce with white beans), discussed his field trip to the Orpheum to see a symphony and STAR WARS, and Ayler showed me his school break schedule to ask about the dates and what they meant. I think Ayler can read simple words on his own now, which is great! I also did some dishes while giving the kids some (diluted) orange juice and more banana bread. Later, Ayler tried to walk acrobat-style on top of the couch, and Hiero wanted to go jump on the mattress that they were giving away - NO! Ayler made a "Snot Construction Zone" out of his red Chinese gelatinous dessert of leen-goh, and Hiero said, "If you eat a people, you will go to jail for a long time [reasonable] and [my parents] will go too! [HUH?]" HAHAHAHA! Jon did put Hiero in a box, though! I got home at 8 on a 407, which is pretty par for the course!

I paid my Shaw bill online today. Then I called Chrystal at work at 1:10 to try arranging a time to get together during her time off. We finally decided on December 14 at 7 at the Broadway London Drugs. After that, I got Jimmy's address for Christmas card purposes, muhahaha! I think I'll repurpose Chrystal's Advent calendar for Jeremy instead, too. Not much point in giving her one midway through the month!

The FINAL FANTASY V SPOOF party finally makes it to an empty Quelb Village, where they need Ninja Wolf's permission to cross to the Hiryuu Valley beyond. The sheep here say, "You-Ram-Bah!" to them.

FINAL FANTASY V SPOOF Bestiary!

THIS ENTRY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE NON-ALIGNED TAGS.

This is the complete bestiary for FINAL FANTASY 5 SPOOF, and all screenshots are from my own playthrough. I'd like to say that this GameFAQs bestiary document helped me a lot; thank you! (as did this one, for more precise directions in certain places) Also, this walkthrough helped me a lot, too! Actually, I was tired of suffering through emulator slowness and game glitches x8, so input a code for a 100% complete Bestiary. These maps will help, since the world map DOESN'T FUCKING WORK IN THIS GAME!

This is a good RPG Classics page for Pro Action Replay codes!

CHECK THE MAP WITH THE Y BUTTON, NOT THE R BUTTON!

Fire-Powered Ship puzzle directions.

Notes to self: Activate the All Characters Have All Abilities code, and then TAKE IT OFF, or else the game will get incredibly frustratingly SLOW. Also, take all codes off before going to the Big Bridge, or attempting to find the Phantom Village! VISHNU VEST EQUIPMENT! Speaking of equipment, EQUIP KRILE WHEN SHE JOINS THE PARTY AFTER GALUF'S DEATH! As far as codes go, the "have 99 of all items" code makes the game freeze and have sound issues!

After much frustration over three hours, I managed to defeat Omega by using the power of Mirage Vests (IMAGE STATUS) / Coral Rings (fire protection), and a pre-emptive strike! I used it to power up my blades with Thundaga Spellblade, then used Rapid-Fire on Faris... I think it was a fluke!

Also, to reset the breath timer in the sunken tower of Walse, climb up the fourth floor vine to get to that chest! I finally actually defeated Famed Mimic Gogo at the bottom of the sunken Tower of Walse by using the Dragoon / Dual-Wield x4 strategy! It was pretty tricky since I wasn't sure that all my characters would survive at least five Meteor attacks, but two of them did! Got garbled text as part of the bugged fight, too... "Dragged into another dimension! Odin: All right, that's far enough! Turning to stone... Can't escape! Countdown to Pestilence... 4 KO'd! Countdown to Eruption... 5 KO'd! Level halved! KO'd!":D

To get the Drakenvale Golem in the Bestiary, defeat the dragons first and THEN defend until he thanks you!

Stick "READ AHEAD" on a character other than Lenna! To prevent having to input all the codes over and over again, SAVE / remove all codes / then close and reopen the emulator! They should all still be there!

For the Moogle in the Forest of Moore to move after the trees have been set on fire by Tzepish, save the game in the cave and then reset. The creature should NOT be blocking the entrance.

Airship in World 3: It's just above Surgate Castle, east of the Pyramid.

DO NOT SET ANY "No Random Encounters" CODE! IT WILL GLITCH OUT THE GAME! (submarine / world map won't work, and there WILL be no random encounters)

TRY DEFEATING NEO SHINRYU FIRST BEFORE OMEGA MK. II - or else you can't get out of the room for some reason! (the exit door SHOULD be open, but is shut tight instead!)

Vanessa came over from UBC after work, so I had MORE COFFEE TIME while she was here, haha. She also took photos of my GOOD TASTE dumplings and my JOY dumplings for me! We talked about the Food Ranger guy on Youtube and his DEATH SPICY HOT POT CHALLENGE, her family, what she got me for my birthday, scary people like Rasputin and killer nurses, GWAR, snacks, borrowing my fridge, opening the Ramnune, Then we were off to Mega Sushi in Steveston for my birthday dinner with her, Christon, Eric M., and Laurie. Turns out Christon and Laurie were there first, but I did explain about the reservation time change. We talked about abscesses, health, brains, getting a ride from Eric for next week's dinner, Willingdon church, livestreaming church services, the Canucks, what I did for my birthday, Brad Best, healthcare in the US, paying for my meal, Eric's card and chocolates, and life. It was pretty fun, and Vanessa dropped me off at 8:50 before heading for home herself.

After taking a nap today, I noticed that Tryanna from Pathways had called me again a couple of times, and I was able to get through to her after a couple of attempts on my end. She wanted to change tomorrow's appointment to Monday because of possible staffing issues: sure, why not? I can be flexible when ASKED about it and given a chance to decide what I want for myself! Then I realized that this would NOT give Vanessa a chance to take photos of any GOOD TASTE dumplings or JOY dumplings in a bag, so I had to go out at 4:20 on a 401 to Price Smart with my wheeled luggage bag after doing my banking anyway!

I bought Philly-Style Steak and Cheese Bistro Crustini (thanks to Jimmy C. bringing up Philly Cheesesteak foods in Facebook chat), GOOD TASTE dumplings x5 (Beef and Vegetable / Cabbage and Chicken / Cabbage and Pork / Pork and Chive / Pork and Celery), JOY dumplings x4 (Pork and Tri-Treasure / Lamb and Onion / Pork and Vegetable / Pork and Chive), on-sale Western Family Peanut Butter Cups and Chocolate ice cream, Country Beef Pot Roast Stouffers Sauté Sensations, Homestyle Roast Chicken Stouffers Sauté Sensations, and some Chicken Alfredo Stouffers Sauté Sensations because of some Facebook comment mentioning Alfredo earlier. All of that weighed about 11.3 kg, and cost about $93.35! When I got home at 5:20 on a 407 (just managing to get the bus), I changed my RSVP to say that I'd be bringing that peanut butter chocolate ice cream instead for a dessert item! Erik's also just reminded me that Thanksgiving is coming up, so I put a turkey item on my grocery list for Monday.

Since I was up at 8 AM today, it was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT! I went out at 10:25 on a 407 and was finally able to make it to the Dollar Tree and Big Crazy today on a 403 from Brighouse before it got TOO hot outside! I got a can of Success mushroom pieces, Knorr mashed potatoes in chicken gravy, and Knorr mashed potatoes in beef gravy. (I had to check if I could microwave them first, of course!) I'm thankful to have the option again to purchase frozen food again: pork and tri-treasure x2 / lamb and onion / pork and chives JOY DUMPLINGS from Big Crazy! Inspired by CuyaDK, I also got some Samyang 2x Spicy Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen x4 at Big Crazy, plus Knorr hot and sour soup mix x3 since I was there anyway. I got home at 11:35 on a 407 from London Drugs, which is good. I think I'll wait on ice cream, since I don't care much for the prices or sizes for Häagen-Dazs at London Drugs right now. Of course, I might also change my mind on that, haha.
