Leap Year Day issues! February 29!

After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 3:05 on a 407 to help with the kids... of course I just missed a 401! I still got to the station in enough time to kill time at both T&T (premium Shin Ramyun Black noodles, Palmolive Oxy Power Degreaser in an 887mL bottle - my limited Cantonese for "washing dishes" won again!) PLUS Tim Horton's where I got a cheese tea biscuit. Despite some shenanigans, I got to the apartment at about the usual time. Seemed like everyone had a cold and cough, especially Beckett, so I used his hoodie to wipe up his runny nose. Even I was getting one a bit later while reading stories to Hiero, so I used the frog blanket to wipe my own nose... it's probably not the worst thing, and I'm pretty sure they launder it anyway! When I got home, I had peppermint tea / Vitamin C / zinc / garlic.

Beckett just wanted me to get balls from his throwing them around most of the time, even when Barry called me at about 5:50 to try rescheduling a food shopping appointment AGAIN! That's fine - I just dealt with that the same way I dealt with Karen Choo calling me while I was talking to people in the car years ago, namely addressing the immediate situation while still being on the phone call. I didn't care what she thought then, and I didn't care what Barry thought if he heard "here's a boh-boh"! Later after a very early dinner of lotus soup / goji berries / kumquat / miso soup / noodles / vegetables / eggs, Beckett got a word book. I sat him in my lap and read to him, then spied a newer word book with textures. He seemed to like the OWL page at least. Showed Ayler and Hiero the contents of my wallet as I was looking for my scissors.

Later, I spied a Pokemon circle, and got some balls from way behind the couches, requiring me to move them! I got Beckett to say "please" a couple of times for that amount of effort, definitely. When he wouldn't just settle down and sleep, I was drafted in to help by just sitting by the crib to keep him company before he hopefully fell asleep. I told him that it was Auntie, got a fish cushion and the stuffed dragon from the floor to his crib, and also held his hand briefly. He didn't throw anything around - just moved them around and fell asleep within five minutes or so. Harmony thinks he just likes the company vs. being afraid of the dark - last night, she couldn't do anything much because he wanted her to sit around for two and a half hours! AIYA! I left at 7, which was SO EARLY that I got home at 8:05 on a 407. WOO!

I noticed that Terrence unfriended me - okay, then! Went out at 3 on a 407 to London Drugs: I got on-sale Morris Gold chocolate coins, on-sale Lindt milk chocolate, on-sale Lindt assorted dark chocolate (60% and 70%), on-sale Lindt strawberries and cream chocolate truffles, on-sale NEW limited-edition Lindt Milk and White chocolate truffles for Valentine's Day, on-sale Febreze odor killer x2 (Tide / original), on-sale NEW Febreze air fresheners x3 (Bora Bora Waters / original with Gain / Linen and Sky), on-sale NEW Burt's Bees lip balm x2 (vanilla bean / wild cherry), NEW Rochef chocolate-covered dried cranberries / blueberries, one litre of Heinz ketchup, on-sale Plackers Micro Mint flossers in a 150 value pack, and on-sale NEW Nutter Butter fudge peanut butter cookie sandwiches. Was home by 4, which was fine by me! The Febreze things were to replace the ones I bought on October 9, 2018 when Jimmy disappeared AGAIN, probably to block people and talk to others. "Just sitting and taking care of Grandma and thinking in the rain," my ass!

After COFFEE TIME, I had to go out to Knightsbridge at 10:45 AM on a 414 to see Rishu at Touchstone at 12 noon, which meant that it took up three hours of my day AGAIN since it was way past Cambie and Jacombs! I had made up my mind to terminate our professional relationship anyway, even before hearing that her practicum session was finishing at the end of February. (which she couldn't even email me about...) During my 20-minute wait for the 405 in the windy weather, I tried helping out an old man by moving my bag on the bus stop bench, but he wasn't having any of it. I also realized that I accidentally wore my red AMOUR shirt from H and M outside in public on Valentine's Day - whoops!

I aired my grievances, including her non-receptiveness to replying to email in a reasonable timeframe. I chose to help Jon out on Wednesdays because there was no way I'd get a response from her in time if she didn't reply on Monday or even Tuesday - Jon's requests were more emergent, and I like spending time with my nephews! I also told her how someone else with REAL anxiety and other issues might feel to be seemingly "ignored," although I know they aren't a crisis line, but she needs to learn as a student. The new location was also a factor; although she SAYS she offered rides and to meet up with me somewhere, I had to say I didn't remember that. I think it ended amicably enough, although of course I cried and then had to fill out the required feedback forms and surveys. She gave me an unexpected gift of a sticky thing to hold a card or two, and I put it on the back of my phone after politely thanking her for that and the good aspects of our sessions and time together.

Once I finally got back into my bubble zone of Richmond, I noticed a bus stop sign saying that the $3 KFC Mega Popcorn box deal was only on until the 16th. Since I wasn't planning on going out before then, I decided to take advantage of it even if more time and energy would be spent. I tried taking a photo of the Shoppers sign saying they were out of hand sanitizer, face masks, and rubbing alcohol... but discovered that my Compass Card in the new sticky thing was blocking the camera! Luckily, I came across some Dairy Queen workers who weren't busy, and the girl unstuck the corner enough for me to figure things out from there. PHEW! I bought the $3 fried chicken and chilled at Richmond Centre for a while. Saw a cute teddy bear offering hugs, so I also took advantage of that. I finally got home at 3:45 on a 407.

Document Destruction Service! Yes, of course I am aware of the need to shred sensitive documents. The name just appealed to my morbid sense of humor.

What do you mean, the fire door is inside the men's restroom?! Weird location for a fire exit... I needed to check this out for sure!

The Canucks played Chicago tonight at 7:30, and won 3-0. They even got an empty-netter! It was the Sedin jersey retirement game! The ceremony was awesome - John Shorthouse, Dave Nonis, Markus Naslund, Trevor Linden, Mike Gillis, Marc Crawford, Alex Burrows, Jannik Hansen, and so many others! The twins definitely sent their well-wishes to Jay Bouwmeester, who collapsed on the bench during last night's St. Louis-Anaheim game because of a cardiac issue! Before COFFEE TIME / BRUSSELS SPROUTS TIME / HOT CHOCOLATE TIME, I called Chrystal at work at 10:10 AM to remind her about tonight. I left at 6:50 on a 414 (which actually had the wheelchair ramp slope in use instead of the steps) to get to London Drugs on time at 7:30 or so. Unfortunately, someone caused a delay for me at Brighouse. Why would you try to start small talk with someone in an elevator who obviously isn't paying any attention to you for a 20-second ride?! No, I'm not going to respond to a guy cyclist's "hi, how are you, hope you're okay, ma'am" in an ENCLOSED SPACE, especially because YOU AND YOUR BIKE FUCKING MADE ME MISS THE FUCKING TRAIN AND WAIT AN ADDITIONAL 11 MINUTES! The elevator wasn't on the first floor either when I needed it to be! I saw the train pulling into the station when I had JUST gotten to the stairs outside!

Don't get me started on the three tall white dudes who evidently had something like "Well then! What the?" to say to me when I was running for the train at Broadway on the way home! THEY WERE OBSTACLES IN MY PATH so of course I had to BARREL into them, and I didn't even have time to turn and yell FUCK OFF! Or the guy IN the train who was blocking my path right when everyone got off and I wanted in. People, have some spatial awareness and consideration! Too bad they didn't think I had coronavirus! At least Mike found my text message rants entertaining!

I FINALLY got to London Drugs at 7:45, where Chrystal was waiting for me and wandering near the back of the store. We quickly decided on our default option of Pho Extreme Xe Lua, since Cactus Club would DEFINITELY be busy on a Friday night even if we'd bothered to reserve beforehand! (they made us wait for 45 minutes at my birthday dinner even WITH one!) We ordered a small #1 (special noodle soup for Chrystal), six signature butter chicken wings for $9.50 to share (although she only ate one - we split the bill anyway), and a large #30 Bo Bun Hue noodle soup for me. We talked about my trip (I showed her some photos), her nephews Benjamin and Ethan, Ayler / Hiero / Beckett / Fraser / Henry, my relief that Mom wasn't coming on that trip, the flight delays, toys, that gas leak on Chinese New Year, her sushi Chinese New Year dinner with family, Hiero's UBC birthday party and presents, Beckett learning new words, Hiero being sick, and work not being fun today. I got home at 9:35 on a 407, which I guess wasn't terrible for leaving the restaurant at 8:50...

From James: Might be the best selfie of the year, and it's only January! Cats and dogs!

I got a blue dragon as my home icon on Google Maps on my phone! I set my "home," tapped on the menu icon, skipped the commute, and tapped on the three dots which appeared so I could change the home pin!

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND 2020, EVERYONE! NEW YEAR, NEW DECADE!

FINALLY HOME AFTER A FLIGHT! I left the house with Steph after thumping my suitcase up the stairs from the guestroom, hugged the kids, and Steph noticed Havarti was sad because she knows what a suitcase means. We drove 45 minutes to the airport; why WOULD she take a $20 or $30 toll road to save one minute?! I hugged her goodbye, then got selected for a pat-down because I accidentally left my phone in my pocket. UGH! At least a kind employee got me a zoomer to go all the way to my YYZ gate after the elevator! The flight itself was uneventful - I was seated in front with the babies and children, but played with my new friend, the year-old baby boy next to me.

White Eric picked me up as advertised after I landed at 2 today. Wow, time change! Haha. I had to walk the length and breadth of YVR because the outside exit for domestic arrivals was all the way at the front. Sweating for sure! I was home by 3, and everything seemed okay, but THE MICE MANAGED TO CHEW THROUGH THE STEEL WOOL IN THE BATHROOM?! YUCK!

2019 Yearly Recap!

This is the 2019 recap. Fitting for the last day of the year, no?

JANUARY

* Hung out with Vanessa and baby Cassidy pre-surgery at Lansdowne: Fresh Elements bubble tea, good dumplings at the food court, GOLDEN DRAGON SUSHI, and more! She helped me open the ridiculous eyedrops bottles, too! [Jan. 7]

* Had eye cataract surgery at Mount St. Joseph's - yikes! Luckily, I had love and support from my friends, and my parents DID drive me home! [Jan. 10]

* Had a one-day followup appointment at the eye clinic. Thank goodness that Barry was able to drive me! Things looked healthy! [Jan. 11]

* Crashed at Deb and Dylan's for about a week. Declan and Elysse liked me from the start, and it was pretty interesting and funny. ("I have my dad's old phone, Elysse." "Did he die?!" Haha!) Lots of meals and Swiss Chalet plus lamb and ribs and packed lunches! I appreciated their support, for sure! [Jan. 11-16]

* Had my one-week followup appointment at the eye clinic. My eye still looked healthy and there is no need to rush on any new glasses! I got hit up for cash at Vancouver City Centre, but I said NO. He should have fucked off instead! [Jan. 17]

* Had Hiero's birthday party: glow-in-the-dark bowling at Grandview Lanes! Dylan and Deb kindly gave me a ride back, and Mom did NOT have to insert herself into our post-church plans by thanking them for "looking after" me! [Jan. 20]

FEBRUARY

* Got a chance to three-way call with Kate and Pothead Mike right after the hockey game, which the Canucks won 4-3 in a shootout against the Flames! It was pretty good to hear their voices as we chatted about a bunch of things including Ed Kemper and the RCMP tank in Surrey. [Feb. 9]

9/16/19 is also a palindrome date! After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I had to leave at 2:15 to see Dr. Ruby at 2:45. Ugh, they can't just do a referral by phone?! I was confused when the 410 detoured way down Alderbridge instead of going on No. 3 Road - ugh, MORE construction! I encountered a nice friendly construction worker, though! At least I got another appointment next Tuesday afternoon for something else I've probably been putting off... I'll just do that and then go to Jon's, I guess.

I got home at 4:10 after seeing an inappropriate MOTHER'S birthday card at Dollar Tree while I was there buying NEW Beeswax Burst lip balm x3 (Creamy Vanilla / Wild Cherry / Peppermint), 35 birthday cards, and three wedding cards. The Canucks played Calgary twice today in Calgary and Victoria at 6 and 7 in their first games of the 2019-2020 NHL preseason, and also split. 3-2 win and 4-3 loss! I also showered today when I got home.

Then I went to London Drugs again (third time in three days) to get NEW Nivea vanilla and almond oil lotion ($2 off) / NEW on-sale Garnier Whole Blends Marvelous shampoo and conditioner / a GUM toothbrush before getting home at 4 on a 407. After COFFEE TIME, I went to the eye clinic by 11:45 (busing at 11 on a 401, which I got to JUST IN TIME) for an eye pressure test, but I was 25 minutes late because of snow and transit delays, NOT helped by SOMEONE thinking we had infinite time to exit the elevator at Brighouse station! It won't be 20/20 vision or anything with the other surgery, but the doctor is okay with how things are going so far. I decided to take a business card for my home use: IN THE COSMETICS BAG BY THE COMPUTER FOR EASIER ACCESS! I'm sure they have a thousand of those things! While I was out anyway, I decided just to kill time at Oakridge. Thank goodness the snow was melting because of the rain since the temperature had warmed up a bit! I found that the best wifi signal was near the food court (where I had some Pho), and definitely not at Safeway or the library!

I got NEW Pringles Groovz in Applewood Smoked Cheddar flavor, small bottles of Vaseline x2 in Cocoa Radiant Cocoa Butter / Aloe Vera, Flaming Hot Cheetos, and Jalapeno Cheddar Cheetos at Safeway. Also read a bit and talked to people on Discord, as you do. I also went to Wireless Wave to find out why my Internet data was frozen - apparently, I wasn't allowed to have any, which explains some things, but at least I can still seemingly take advantage of Wifi and Shaw Open!

We talked about her mom, Sophie, not saying hi to David yet after a year (sit in their pew!), her brother helping out, the new caregiver from church, the new worship team and their new style of songs, Belinda's new snowblower for Toronto weather, my eye surgeries, and going to No Frills later only to find that the Becel avocado oil margarine was sold out. Ugh, I'll just get it some other time since I was not in the mood to walk anymore once I got into Richmond. Got home at 7:55 on a 401, and the sidewalks were just as clear as they'd been this morning as I tried "safely running" for the bus. Yes, of course I'm a good listener as Anita told me all those years ago, and Frances affirmed tonight. I told her to look up Edward Rutherfurd if she wanted to read more historical fiction, ha!

I discovered that Jason Lam and Sarah Quelch had unfriended me - oh well, the Awana and Palmer days were long ago! The Canucks played the Kings at 7:30 tonight... the game went to overtime (thanks to Gaudette!) plus a shootout. BOESER GOT THE GOAL TO WIN 4-3! I also showered today.

From Kenny and Busted Locals: A young woman was pulled over for speeding. A Louisiana State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book. She said, "I bet you are going to try to sell me a ticket to the Louisiana Trooper's Ball." He replied, "Louisiana State Troopers don't have balls." There was a moment of silence. He then closed his book, tipped his hat, got back in his patrol car, and left.

When I went out this morning to test the snow at 10 AM (and discover that Internet data was frozen on my phone), Megan from the eye clinic called me to say that I had a date for my other eye surgery: Wednesday, May 8! I called Barry AGAIN for the third time this week, and he said he couldn't drive me tomorrow since he was at the hospital with somebody. Very valid! I did tell him about the new surgery date and the February 27 eye clinic appointment, so we'll see on that one! Then again, IT'S SNOWING AGAIN IN RICHMOND! I might have to call and cancel the appointment tomorrow morning...

Went to London Drugs for a replacement toothbrush since I had to throw one in the garbage yesterday morning because I couldn't rinse it (NO WATER!), a yellow LifeCandy shower pouf, a big plain yellow envelope, and NEW Vaseline For Men lotion. Barry picked me up at 11:30 for my follow-up appointment at the eye clinic today. Everything looks good according to Dr. Wise, who gave me two more bottles of eyedrops, which I got the pharmacy next door to open! I also have a one-week followup appointment on the 17th at 1:30 PM, which is definitely a convenient time for me to bus. No more eye shield except for at night or when I sleep! Then Rachel called me at 5 today for about ten minutes; she says I sound good and I managed very well. I HOPE SO, hahaha! I will get to Dylan and Deb's place safely tonight after the kids' Mandarin class and dinner - phew!

Post-surgery selfie from last night... I swear I forgot what I did when I emailed the Cuya NESS perler to myself on New Year's Eve or transferring files from the phone to the computer, so thank goodness for the eye clinic's Wi-Fi, haha!

I went to the pharmacy next door at 1:30 to refill my prescription, showered, and did laundry today. Then I went to H and M to see if I could get sweatpants. No luck at all, even when I dragged an associate across the store! At least now I have the phone number and (mow that I'm home) the proper tag numbers for my preferred style of sweatpants! 604-279-1811 AND 063 658 68! When I got home and organized stuff, I called the store - they don't have that one because it's popular / best-selling, but will have a shipment in very soon, and said I should call in the late afternoon or early evening. Okay, then!

I got on-sale Arm and Hammer 50-load laundry detergent and store brand garbage bags at Shoppers, and on-sale bulk pads x2 (saving $1 per package) at London Drugs (just missing the 407) before hauling the heavy stuff home at 2:50 on a 401, having to get off one stop earlier because of the road closures and construction! Gotta remind white Eric about that soon... I also found a random Bench / Body men's underwear in her dried laundry. o_O

I got this error message on Discord this morning. 50 new messages since 4 PM on DECEMBER 31, 1969?! Apparently, it's a common default date for programming. (not for dates, but date-time integers) AKA 0 would be Dec. 31, 1969 at X PM... 10000 would be like Jan. 1 at Y PM. January 1, 1970 00:00:00 UTC was the beginning of time... for computers that use C-based time systems that is. ... which also happens to be 1969 December 31 4:00:00 PM PST. (short version: Someone at Discord screwed up, and it used a time value of 0)

"Bob Bobberchuk" added me to Facebook - okay, then! I went to London Drugs again at 4 on a 407 (managing to just get the bus) to mail a note to Jimmy... only $1.26! Also bought on-sale Pacari organic chocolate bars x6: Raw 100% Cacao (orange), Passion Fruit (yellow), 60% Cacao Esmeraldas (pink), Andean Rose (red), Lemongrass (green), Raw 70% Cacao (yellow-green) - $3 each for a 50g bar! Oh well...

I also got NEW on-sale Dare Cookie Dough Whippets which expire on October 30, NEW Oreo Chocolate and Peanut Butter Pie cookies which expire on February 27, 2019 / NEW Oreo Cookies Pistachio Creme Thins cookies which expire on December 2 for National Cookie Month in October, an orange replacement $2 MARTEX washcloth, Palmolive Oxy Power Degreaser dish detergent, Hilroy Press-It-Seal-It envelopes (both white and security envelopes), NEW on-sale Tic Tac Gum x3 (Fresh Mint / Spearmint / Watermelon), and NEW London Naturals Wild Orange plant-based all-purpose cleaner. Got home at 5:05 on a 407, and had lots of peace and quiet. I needed it to edit past entries, grab food photos from Google, and upload them! The Canucks played the Bruins at 7 tonight; the game went to overtime, and the Canucks won 2-1 against the nasty Bruins! BO HORVAT!

After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I left at 2:55 for my dentist appointment with Sean at 3:30. Turns out the extra half hour was to update my X-rays and digital paperless records! I overheard an older guy actually argue with Sean in the waiting room about how he didn't have time to floss or brush his teeth: he wanted to weasel his way out of more frequent appointments, and didn't want to listen to BC dental rules and guidelines. I got on the Canada Line after checking my Royal Bank card balance at Oakridge Mall, but the guy in a wheelchair posed a problem for me when he wouldn't get out at Lansdowne Station, so I walked from there to London Drugs. (the guy with the bike was bad enough at Brighouse AND Oakridge Station on my way to the appointment...)

I checked out London Drugs again since both Sean and the hygienist mentioned Vaseline for my dry lips. Luckily, it was on sale, as were the replacement thin Secret bamboo socks which I was going to buy after payday. (I noticed a hole in a pair yesterday) The sales would not extend until payday, so I bought a 50g tube of Vaseline original petroleum jelly / 600mL of Vaseline intensive care lotion in a yellow bottle (which contains micro-droplets of Vaseline Jelly) / a pair of replacement thin Secret bamboo socks. When I got home at 5:45 on a 407, I prepared blog entries and novel reading for COMPUTERLESS DOOM this weekend. INTO THE WILDERNESS (Sara Donati), FALL OF GIANTS (Ken Follett), HAWAII (James Michener), and LONDON (Edward Rutherfurd) are my choices!

Eric Ho FINALLY sent me a fucking email ("sorry!") saying that there was some Valentine's Day thing at the art gallery. Not interested - he'll have to make it up to me WELL. The Canucks played Boston at 7 tonight, and won 6-1! Loui Eriksson scored two goals!

Hester's husband Ni came by for the fire alarm inspection at 1:40, then I went out at 2 on a 407 for on-sale Reese's peanut butter and chocolate hearts x3 / a new on-sale Rubbermaid dish drainer / a pack of two on-sale Designer Workshop pillowcases / on-sale sriracha sauce / a tape measure / an on-sale dinosaur kit for Ayler and Hiero ($7.99 in store from $11.99, but the website had it for $16.99 from $18.99?) at London Drugs. When I got home at 3:05, I had to throw away the old dish drainer plus some knives / teaspoons / tablespoons that had gunk and crud on them from said old dish drainer! Good thing the mop towels fit into the spare Sterilite storage box I had! I'll have to get some more of those at some point. I also temporarily fixed my computer desk tray with duct tape!

GREEN TEA TIME! I noted that Chinese Eric had called me last night while I was trying to decide about Jimmy (not worth it - I also talked to Helen Y. about things), so I called him back this morning. Auntie answered the phone and we exchanged Chinese New Year greetings once I told her who I was. Then he called me on his lunch break in the afternoon at 1:10; thank goodness I caught it at 1:45! All the snow from last night has melted (yay!), and he asked whether I'd like him to use a Domino's Pizza coupon - of course! We're Asian, after all!

He ended up not coming over (which I figured by 7:35), so I stashed some stuff away for later since I don't want it in my face: I have SOME dignity, after all! It also surprised me that Teunis added me to Facebook again, since I was totally fine with his not following me online last June, and understood why without his having to explicitly say so. We'll probably just be Facebook acquaintances, which I am totally okay with. The Canucks played the Panthers at 7 tonight, and lost 4-3. YOU CAN'T GIVE UP FOUR GOALS IN THE FIRST PERIOD!

It's Mardi Gras today! Steph and Lisa offered to pay for my flights if I want to visit them in early April since she goes back to work on April 16. That sounds good to me! Also, I got an email from AWESOME Chinese Eric this morning, saying that he'd come home late last night, but could perhaps come over tomorrow at 4-ish after his shift with dinner so we can watch the Canucks-Panthers game (which starts at 7?) if I was free. He should know me by now; I'm almost always free for stuff like that! Gotta pre-emptively hide the water bottles, though... I can foresee his leaving early, too. I also saw MICE DROPPINGS on the DINING ROOM TABLE! They'd chewed through the bag of ginger snaps... EW!

I rediscovered that my wheeled luggage bag from July 2012 actually has multiple small holes in it, so that's why everything from London Drugs was wet when I tried shopping for a bunch of canned stuff a couple weeks ago! Then I checked with Jon to see whether they needed me for Family Day on Monday. Since they don't, it was off to Bentley's in Richmond Centre at 3 on a 407 to see if I could get a new wheeled luggage bag. No dice, as the only Swiss Gear one was $80! Then I went to Shoppers Drug Mart, where I got on-sale pink salmon x7 and on-sale mushroom soup x7, NOT EIGHT as the overly sensitive self-check scanner thought! Whatever, I'll just eat the $3 charge and say that I used zero bags although I used two! I got home at 3:55 on a 407, no thanks to construction.

I called Chrystal at work at 12:30 - to my surprise, she was on reception duty! We made plans for her to treat me to a belated birthday dinner on Friday the 13th; we'll meet at 7-ish at the London Drugs near Broadway Station. Sounds good to me!

"You Are Not Charismatic"

You are not a born performer, and there's a good chance that you are more reserved than most people.
What you lack in charisma, you more than make up for in humility and honesty. You are content with who you are.

You are not big on seeking the spotlight. You usually prefer spending time alone to shining in a crowd.
The kind of socialization you crave tends to be one on one, deep, and authentic. You see beneath the surface.

It's WORLD MUSHROOM DAY today! :D

I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online after I showered and made some mushroom soup. No time for my pasta specialty if I had to make it to Jon and Harmony's at 12:30 or so on two cups of coffee! I got there at about 12:45 or so, declined lunch, and ate a piece of interesting mango chocolate for dessert instead. I played with the boys and their toy trains and arches, while answering "no" to the question of whether I lived on the Golden Gate Bridge! Eventually, we got going to the Family Centre drop-in with Harmony soon after she got home. I'm sure she would love some quiet time to herself, but that wasn't really an option. We talked about the summer and fall, my eventual birthday dinner, the hot weather, my shorts, chalk drawings, whether I'd stay for dinner, putting stickers on kites, chalk drawings at home being better than a hot playground, physio, and ratatouille / tabouli / spaghetti / THE ANTS GO MARCHING. Youtube videos, Ayler being able to serve himself after I finally got him some dinner because Hiero was having a meltdown, cantaloupe, bathroom time, beans, and emotions being okay.

Once I left at 6, I went to Oakridge Station before figuring out that I didn't have my bus pass, so went straight back to the house. It wasn't there, but it could be at the Physio Centre bathroom. Jon gave me some change for a one-time Compass Card, and Harmony called around for me. I finally got home at 7:40 on a 401, slow jabronies on the train notwithstanding. Get your kids and crap together BEFORE the train pulls into the station, people!

Sherry Norris wanted to add me to Facebook from the Puckheads - okay, then! Experienced the "whoosh-whoosh" in my ears again, too! Talked to Vanessa briefly on MSN when she asked about something... yeah, that's still going on. I was going to go out for a short while to visit Grandma and feed her some dinner... I unexpectedly saw my parents there, so they wanted to take me out for dinner AFTER we helped Harmony with the baby. At least I did feed Grandma some congee and her actual dinner of meat / veggies / mashed potatoes, and she thanked me for it mid-feed! She wanted to feed herself some dessert, so I let her do that while keeping an eye on her.

Of course, she asked me whether I wanted some food! As usual, I said no. Mom gave me some shoes and a bunch of mostly-old snacks from Grandma's room (Bugles / Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa medicine with an expiry date of 2002?! / shredded pork / cream wafers / shrimp crackers / Chinese egg rolls / strawberry jam) before we left to see the baby. She also let me invite Chinese Eric to Thanksgiving Dinner - I didn't tell her that I already had invited him during Monday's marathon phone call - and wondered if he'd like to help with Grandma, hahaha! I threw most of the stuff out except the Bugles, which were still good / non-aired out. Later, I got to hold the baby (who smiled and grabbed my finger) for a while before he got fussy - he wanted to look out the window, of course. He also apparently enjoyed bathtime, and HATED being taken out of the water since he cried A LOT! It was cold even inside, for sure.

Harmony says they got back from Portland today, and got really good at eating really fast since the baby had meltdowns every time they wanted to have dinner! The parents and I went to a Vietnamese place to have dinner - it used to be Sun Wong Kee, and I remember it well. After pork / chicken / lamb / shrimp / noodles, we went to see if Mom could find Neo-Citran at London Drugs since she was sick; luckily, she could! (Nicole couldn't last night!) I finally got home at 8:35 or so, to a rather perfidious email from Randal about how my tagging him resulted in "trivial" emails, and how it wouldn't matter if I unfriended him. FINE THEN, I'LL GRANT YOUR WISH! NO MORE HEALING FOR YOU! If you want to be unfriended that badly because you can't stand the emails you get when I tag you in pictures and other people comment on them, FINE! I will grant you your wish, you perfidious fucking asshole. At least others were nicer about it!
