The Canucks played the Ducks at 7:30 tonight, and lost 1-0... Anaheim ended up winning their first home game in TWO MONTHS, with a rookie goalie and a new coach!

From the r/Canucks Discord server: Kaapo Kakko?! FUN! It is his birthday today, too - what a coincidence!

After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I went out at 1:50 on a 401 to get two more on-sale 6x126 Scotties Kleenex boxes at London Drugs, since the sale expires tomorrow and I was going to be out anyway. While I was there and waiting in the wrong line because this dude decided to delay everyone by not having a coupon or card available OR payment at the ready, I decided to ask the cashier to open the recalcitrant multivitamin bottle from yesterday, just in case. (I'd brought it along to see if Rachel could open it) The clerk could not, but thankfully believed me that I'd bought it yesterday, so I WAS ABLE TO DO AN EXCHANGE WITHOUT THE RECEIPT! PHEW!

Afterwards, I thankfully managed to catch the 414 on Minoru to see Rachel at The Caring Place (talking a LOT about Sandy / banking / disability plans / boundaries), then I rushed home afterwards! I thought I discovered a REDRUM smell after eating a bowl of pasta with straw mushrooms, Prego pasta sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. IT WAS LAUNDRY TIME AFTER THE FIRST PERIOD, JUST IN CASE! (pun intended, hahaha) I also sent Frances a quick "happy birthday" email for tomorrow while I remembered. The Canucks played the Wings at 4:30 today; the game went to overtime, and lost 3-2 in a SHOOTOUT! Now I feel the Monthly Drain Sleep Experience (MDSE) coming on... ZZZZZ...

I used the MOTHER 3 Debug Room (not with any great success...), and here is a double Bateau glitch, preventing Flint from joining Duster atop the cliff in Chapter 1. Flint can't go anywhere else because the original Bateau (the one not on the Wall Staples ladder) will say that Duster is waiting for him!

Flint has rescued Fuel from his burning shack in Chapter 1. They've made it to Isaac's house at the entrance to Sunshine Forest, and have refused to save their game with the Save Frog. "Oh, I see... You know, you're quite pitch black."

glowing_dragon: (Crazy-Eyed Bear)
Chinese Eric and white Eric had both emailed me this morning. Eric H. is still up for his birthday hangout at Boston Pizza this Saturday the 18th around 1 PM for the BC Lions game, and Eric M. said that Boston Pizza was better than Italian Tomato for hanging around for three hours to watch the game.

A Muppets / Kermit the Frog reference in the FINAL FANTASY V ADVANCE town of Walse. "It's easy being green, dig?" That reminded me of Jimmy when I used to talk to him. He was always saying, "you dig?"

After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME and an early shower, I left for Jon's at 2:45 on a 401. For Sunday, I'll message him in the morning to see what's up with them and going around Arbutus. I beat them to the house by two minutes after breaking a $50 bill at Kam Do Bakery (BBQ pork bun!) for that dinner in a couple of weeks. The kids thought they should beat me to the house because they live there (also that Hiero can get rid of Ayler), but that's not how things work! I read (Christmas GRINCH and baby) books to them for at least 45 minutes after a snack of cherry tomatoes dunked in chocolate milk, plus mangoes. Turns out that I was sitting in some Silly Putty "slime" that the kids made at school (which Harmony noticed), so I had to wash my white pants when I got home... I was NOT IMPRESSED, and wasn't impressed when the kids reached for my hat and said stuff about taking it off. At least the Silly Putty washed off!

Hiero asked me whom I saw before I got to the house - nobody except for the people at the bakery and on transit! Both boys said that Curtis (Jon's piano student) and I were Mommy, despite warnings from Jon. (INCEST IS WRONG!) We had minestrone and chicken Pho noodles for dinner; Jon and I also had (Steamworks) beer. I told the kids about YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON TELEVISION, and the "I don't know" phrase triggering GREEN SLIME! We discussed my doing the dishes, boundaries (I got up mid-book to find an oatmeal cookie after ten times of the kids talking about my hat), going to the bathroom / using coconut oil / privacy / the cash register, my leaving at 6:45 (and getting home at 7:25 on a 401), popsicles, baby spit-up, blowing bubbles in chocolate milk, favorite colors (Ayler likes red and Hiero likes yellow), being quiet, and more.

Mahogany Essence Loggins?! The ironic thing is that she's black!

In MOTHER 3, Saturn Valley is blocked off by a Pigmask bomb, and the party has to help the Mr. Saturn characters catch a bird. This one has a balloon, and says: "One birdie more. Fishing for birdie."

Lucas, Kumatora, Duster, and Boney are about to take off in the MOTHER 3 Saturn Valley "birdie cage" when Rope Snake comes up to them. After the party refuses his offers of help a couple of times, he says: "Please! I'm begging you! See? I even have my hands clasped together!" A SNAKE HAS HANDS?! I'm so moved! Then in a "but thou must" situation, he takes over the cage anyway.

After Rope Snake takes over the Saturn Valley "birdie cage" in MOTHER 3, this Mr. Saturn says: "Here goes no something."

After I had COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 11:50 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got NEW spicy shrimp (EAT THE TAILS!), hot and spicy pork stomach (they should discount it if it expires tomorrow!), Wu-Ham duck necks, on-sale Clorox wipes x2, on-sale Oasis juice x4, $1 Sidekicks x14 (Garlic Butter with Lemon / Tomato Alfredo / Honey Garlic Noodles / Creamy Chicken Fusilli / Teriyaki Noodles / White Cheddar and Broccoli / Chicken pasta / Country Mushroom rice / Mexican Rice / White Cheddar with Queso rice / Homestyle Cheddar / Three Cheese pasta / Chicken Fried Rice), on-sale Healthy Choice microwaveable Power Bowls (Korean-Inspired Beef / Chicken Sausage and Barley / Adobo Chicken / Cuban-Inspired Pork), on-sale JOY dumplings x4 (Lamb and Onion / Pork and Chive / Pork and Tri-Treasure / Pork and Vegetable... saves me a trip to Big Crazy for the same price!), on-sale $1 store brand canned mixed beans x10, on-sale Olympic yogurt x2 (strawberry Krema / black cherry Krema), and on-sale Western Family blueberry-pomegranate Greek yogurt.

Also got on-sale Imperial margarine, on-sale Premium Gomtang beef noodles x2, on-sale Bul Jjampong Korean noodles x2, an on-sale KitKat Espresso Biscuit and Ganache bar, on-sale store brand Parmesan cheese, on-sale Authentica World Cuisine pasta sauce x2 (Arrabiata / Puttanesca), on-sale Catelli seashell pasta, on-sale store brand CLR, on-sale Del Monte lychee juice, Crave microwaveable meals x2 (Pulled Pork and Spicy Sweet Potatoes / Lasagna Alfredo with Bacon and Sausage), store brand mango lemonade, store brand raspberry lemonade, and a free apple from Barry! After that, I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online at home. Wow, I spent about $405 today!

After COFFEE TIME, I left at 7:05 to meet Chrystal at the Broadway London Drugs at 7:30. Of course I had her birthday card, the Lindt Strawberry Excellence chocolate bar, the President's Choice Easter eggs, assorted teas, and the Lindt Ecuador chocolate bar! I was delayed because a group of 200 teens had made a train go out of service because they held the train doors open too much. WHAT THE HELL?! Finally got there at 7:55, and successfully "forced" my stuff on Chrystal, but this is definitely the last one. I have to respect her wishes of not wanting any more of my stuff, after all. We went to Sushi California, where I had a Russian Roulette sushi roll with BANANA PEPPERS (Chrystal cringed as I ate a piece!) and a sushi roll with pumpkin!

I updated her on Ayler wanting to weigh the furniture (the very light stuff), and she updated me on her becoming an aunt again in May. (Emily is pregnant again!) Ethan knows that he will have a brother, and is excited. Chrystal and I talked about her and Vivian wanting to go to New Zealand and Australia, Mike's parents going separately to Hong Kong, my parents moving to Burnaby, and her dad not being ready to leave downtown at 8:55 to meet her at No Frills. I was home at 9:30, thanks to JUST managing to get the 407 at Brighouse! Now it's time to relax and "have fun" with Jimmy after complaining about scavenger hunts and teenage shenanigans, haha.

My sister hates reading, haha. "Yay! Reading!" Steph once followed me around the Richmond library counting down the seconds in the five minutes left to us until Mom said we had to leave!

The Canucks played the Minnesota Wild at 5 today; the game went into overtime, and it was a 3-2 Vancouver win courtesy of Brandon Sutter in his first game back!

Today's agenda: THE NHL 100TH ANNIVERSARY WINTER CLASSIC! Eric Ho came over early at 1:30 so I could give him the parking pass / parking permit. While he was busy with that, I hid most of my bottled water in my room - didn't stop him from drinking three of them! I was going to buy more bottled water on Wednesday anyhow, but WOW. Then I could FINALLY give Eric his 37 index cards in a Ziploc bag, Cadbury's dark milk chocolate bar, Terry's Chocolate Orange, Ragusa Noir chocolate bar, big Jersey Milk chocolate bar, birthday card, and Christmas card... he definitely thanked me for all of that. He offered to get me food since he was going back home for dinner, but we ended up "sharing" a can of Vegetable Beef Chunky Soup instead at 4:50, meaning I had to wash two bowls and spoons instead of one when he decided that he'd be too full for dinner at home. *rolleyes*

We talked about Nathan and Ciel, trying the Italian Tomato again, serial killers, his children's cough medicine (the pharmacy ran out of other cough medicine since everyone's sick now), remote-controlled stuff, electric cars, gasoline, Steph, Lisa, Carey Price, TMZ, annoying Christmas commercials, Google Home, SURVIVOR, the Hollywood sex scandals, the 1917 Montreal Canadiens / Ottawa Senators, and the negative temperatures at the outdoor game. Also discussed goalies not being allowed to crouch to make saves back in 1917, people swearing, the parking pass patrol, my hockey fan friends, Jon, Harmony, all my nephews, Robert Pickton, Discord, Jimmy, Daniel Alfredsson and the Hall of Fame, venting, SkipTheDishes, Brent Burns, the Vegas Golden Knights winning 2-1 over the Penguins (Fleury's revenge!), THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES movie, and Roberto Luongo / Cory Schneider / Eddie Lack. Eric left during the second intermission at 5:55 to rest before dinner, but I managed to offload all the leftover snacks on him. No, I don't feel like eating crumbs from a bag! Eat them yourself, dude! I also found out that he neglected to retract a pen - UGH!

Helixia Prospan children's cough medicine: An expectorant with ivy leaf extract; relieves cough, loosens mucus and phlegm, 200 mL of syrup, a frog, and tastes like honey for children ages 1 to 11! Sucrose-free, gluten-free, dye-free, and alcohol-free!

I went out early (for me) at 11 on a 407 to London Drugs so I could get an on-sale tall Nescafé coffee canister (December 23, 2016), on-sale De Cecco pasta (farfalle and rigatoni), on-sale Munchies Snack Mix with my last 50¢ (50 cents) off coupon, a Terry's Chocolate Orange / an on-sale Cadbury dark milk chocolate bar / on-sale Ragusa Noir chocolate bar / an on-sale big Jersey Milk chocolate bar for Eric Ho, another on-sale Ragusa Noir bar for myself, on-sale Vancouver Canucks Upper Deck candy fan bags with lollipops / mints / hockey cards x3 (one for me and one for Eric Ho - the other one to be determined - possibly Jimmy's when he gets here in May 2018), on-sale Paterson's Scottish shortbread fingers, Dawn Ultra orange dish detergent, NEW Nongshim SOON Veggie noodles, and NEW on-sale Hershey's COOKIE + Vanilla Creme / COOKIE + Caramel milk chocolate bars. Then it was COFFEE TIME when I got home at 11:45 on another 407.

I found a huge (and somewhat damp) box right by my door. Whatever - at least I don't have to go to the "nearest" Canada Post outlet to pick it up... Oh hey, it's Christmas stuff from Julie! A Peanuts Christmas card, CHRISTMAS HOUSE erasers, Snugadoo Too Super Soft purple striped socks and a red toque, two CHRISTMAS HOUSE jingly necklaces, Hot Tamales Fierce cinnamon jellybeans (better not let the kids have any...), bite-size Tootsie Rolls in a bank, 12 CHRISTMAS HOUSE pencils, CHRISTMAS stickers, and a Christmas memo book with pen!

I noticed that Joyce - whose birthday is today - had unfriended me from Facebook. Her loss! It was also COFFEE TIME by default since I got up at 7:20 AM. Mike B. had sent me a cool message to wish me a happy early birthday, so that definitely made me smile!

"You See the World as Somewhat Just"

You don't see the world in simple terms. What's just and unjust is complicated.
You believe that justice is sometimes served, both in and outside the courts. But there is plenty of injustice to go around.

You don't expect anyone to treat you fairly or unfairly. You do your best to protect yourself from life's uncertainty.
You consider any justice you receive to be a bonus, but it's certainly not the norm.

After MORE COFFEE TIME, I left for Jon and Harmony's at 2. I stopped by the Kam Do Bakery to get a BBQ pork bun to eat on the train, then got to the house at 2:45 or so, right on time. I was delayed a couple of minutes by some neighbor lady with a dog who recognized me from Mom's Facebook photos. I didn't really mind talking to her, though. At least the door was open, probably because it was pretty hot outside! When Jon asked, I requested some water. The kids were eating some snacks when I got there: Hiero offered me his peach pit (no thanks!) and Ayler told me that they didn't have any more BBQ pork buns. That's fine, as I'd just eaten one! Then came the usual questions about how long ago and what time I'd eaten it, along with Ayler reciting all the Canada Line stations up to Olympic Village. He's getting smart!

While Jon's music student Justin was over, the kids were pretty loud, but made "gas stations" out of bristle blocks ("Gas gas gas!"), offered me grapes from their plate (sure!), made long trains, and put some tiny playing cards in numerical order. Apparently, they got them from the hospital ("not blood draws - a vaccine!") a couple weeks ago. At least they're not being taught how to gamble yet! Ayler also wanted me to stay for dinner, so I said I'd think about it. Hiero pointed out some holes in my socks - I swear I just bought them, but who knows? I'll just have to get some more later! Ayler asked me whether Jon would have two more music students; I had no idea! Hiero wanted me to read a book about 100 vehicles to him - sure, why not? It's better than fighting with your brother over toy trains and train tracks!

When Justin left, they "gave" him some train tracks, which he of course put back when they weren't looking. Easy to do! When the kids weren't there, I put back the noisy xylophone and the hammer to go with it, but Ayler was okay with catching the balls with his hand. Jon noticed and thanked me, then a woman came over for a piano lesson. Harmony got home and also invited me to stay for dinner, which was ratatouille / zucchini / corn on the cob. Harmony got home and also invited me to stay for dinner, which was ratatouille / zucchini / corn on the cob. She said that she was thinking about taking the kids to the Family Centre, the park, and then to physio on Wednesday, so my coming over around 12:30 would be good. No time for anything but mushroom soup, then!

Ayler said that we could eat the zucchini seeds, and I offered an apologetic "sorry" to Jon and that other student when Hiero squealed at seeing the corn on the cob. "Corn excitement over here!" Then Ayler said that I could stay for "the ice cream" - cute! Ayler thought that Randal would come over - who knows? He did, though. Hiero told me that Uncle Randal was there, so I asked how he knew. Apparently, he heard Randal's voice. Randal was indeed over for music lessons, and he said hi to me. To be polite, I offered him a frosty Hello back. Whatever, I don't care what the kids think. Then Ayler wondered if he'd eaten yet and whether he'd eat later. I said he might eat later if he hadn't already. Ayler asked why he was reading, so I said that he was probably doing it because he liked reading just like me. That's fine for me, but that's all I'm willing to concede.

Harmony brought out one Easter egg each for the kids (which she'd apparently forgotten about for some time), and Ayler asked why I wasn't having any. I had some chocolate at home already, I told him. Harmony said that I could go after dinner, which was fine by me. I actually had to put down my dinner bowl because Ayler requested a hug before I left, which is totally fine. Ayler also wanted me to stay overnight, so I asked him where I'd sleep. "Share Daddy's pillow!" was the answer I got. I told Harmony that she might want to explain why I could NOT sleep in the same bed as Jon, then left after saying bye to everyone except Randal. If the kids notice and say something, whatever. At 7:15, I was home on a 407, and fielded an email from ERIC HO saying that he'd even had to work on his birthday last week! Poor guy! He wants to catch a Lions game, but I looked at the schedule and the only near ones are in September! Not doable if he wants to hang out as August winds down!

Photo merging, stacking, combination, or juxtaposition! Combine two images into one!

I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online today. Barry picked me up at 1 after I had COFFEE TIME, and we went to both banks before heading to Price Smart. I bought Gatorade Cool Blue Raspberry x6, Excel White gum x3, $1 Sidekicks (Teriyaki Noodles / Tomato Alfredo x2 / Three Cheese x3 / Creamy Chicken Fusilli x3 / White Cheddar Queso / Teriyaki Rice / Singapore Curry Noodles x2 / Garlic Butter with Lemon x2 / Creamy Parmesan), NEW on-sale Western Family Loaded Chocolate Sundae ice cream in a limited edition ($2 off!), NEW Häagen-Dazs Spirits Vodka Key Lime Pie ice cream, Western Family fusilli (900 grams) / Western Family rotini (900 grams) / Western Family penne rigate (900 grams) / NEW Western Family macaroni (900 grams) / NEW Western Family Cavatappi pasta / NEW Western Family Casarecce pasta, on-sale bottled water x2 (two for $7 when the regular price was $6.75 for ONE!), and Silk almond milk x2.

I also got NEW Ruffles Mozzarella and Marinara chips (and told Sam on Discord later), on-sale All-Bran Buds ($2 off!), on-sale Honey and Lemon Strepsils (50 cents off!), Indomie Mi Goreng BBQ Chicken noodles, Silk almond vanilla milk x2, Mama shrimp tom yum noodles, on-sale Mamee Monster BBQ noodle snacks (almost $2 off!), on-sale Mamee Monster chicken noodle snacks (almost $2 off!), Vedan Bah Kut tea noodles x2, Vedan Mushroom / Cuttlefish noodles, and bananas. Turns out I saved $33.92 today, which is good! When I got home, I put $20 aside in an envelope for whenever Chrystal and I go out to dinner, then promptly spilled half the All-Bran Buds on my dining room table! Good thing that nothing got on the carpet, which is practically the same color as the cereal! For cleanup purposes, I wiped all the cereal detritus with a damp cloth after scooping most of it into the Ziploc bag!

I went out at 2:15 and wasted time at Richmond Centre trying to find a NEW Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino. Then I just missed a 410 bus to Big Crazy; when I got there, I bought Knorr hot and sour soup mix x5 / JOY dumplings x 4 (lamb and onion, pork and vegetable, pork and tri-treasure, pork and chive) / NEW Burning Dry Noodles in chili oil flavor / a family-size 400g bag of Nongshim shrimp crackers / NEW Chongqing Hot and Sour noodles in a cup. After that, I just missed a 410 bus for London Drugs, where I eventually bought NEW Häagen-Dazs Spirits ice cream x4 (Rum Ginger Cookie / Irish Cream Coffee Biscotti / Whiskey Chocolate Truffle / Rum Vanilla Caramel Blondie) and a new red Gibson owl coffee mug without a sticker on the bottom or inner bumps.
