After taking a nap today, I noticed that Tryanna from Pathways had called me again a couple of times, and I was able to get through to her after a couple of attempts on my end. She wanted to change tomorrow's appointment to Monday because of possible staffing issues: sure, why not? I can be flexible when ASKED about it and given a chance to decide what I want for myself! Then I realized that this would NOT give Vanessa a chance to take photos of any GOOD TASTE dumplings or JOY dumplings in a bag, so I had to go out at 4:20 on a 401 to Price Smart with my wheeled luggage bag after doing my banking anyway!

I bought Philly-Style Steak and Cheese Bistro Crustini (thanks to Jimmy C. bringing up Philly Cheesesteak foods in Facebook chat), GOOD TASTE dumplings x5 (Beef and Vegetable / Cabbage and Chicken / Cabbage and Pork / Pork and Chive / Pork and Celery), JOY dumplings x4 (Pork and Tri-Treasure / Lamb and Onion / Pork and Vegetable / Pork and Chive), on-sale Western Family Peanut Butter Cups and Chocolate ice cream, Country Beef Pot Roast Stouffers Sauté Sensations, Homestyle Roast Chicken Stouffers Sauté Sensations, and some Chicken Alfredo Stouffers Sauté Sensations because of some Facebook comment mentioning Alfredo earlier. All of that weighed about 11.3 kg, and cost about $93.35! When I got home at 5:20 on a 407 (just managing to get the bus), I changed my RSVP to say that I'd be bringing that peanut butter chocolate ice cream instead for a dessert item! Erik's also just reminded me that Thanksgiving is coming up, so I put a turkey item on my grocery list for Monday.

Turns out that Tryanna from Pathways was calling me from a private number a lot yesterday, but I finally picked up this morning to see what the heck was up with all those repeated calls. Turns out that she had a cold and couldn't do food shopping today, so we settled on Friday at 1 instead. Auntie Catherine also emailed to wish me a happy belated birthday, and says that we should catch up in the second half of October after her Hong Kong trip with Uncle Y.C. Sure, why not? The Canucks had Pre-Season Game #3 against Calgary tonight at 6, and won 5-3. Time to get some sleep before the Shanghai game against the Kings!

"You Enhance Lives"

You're the type of person who likes to work quietly behind the scenes. Very few people notice all that you do.
You love to help, but you aren't looking for credit. You know that you do a lot simply being there for others.

You are steady, dependable, and loyal. You aren't just a rock, though - you also have a good spark that lights up the world.
You bring lightness and depth, optimism, and realism to others' lives. You are often what is missing.

"You Are Birdie"

You are as wise as they come. You have a good deal of life experience, and you've definitely learned from it.
You may be down to earth, but you have a wild past that few know about. And you're happy to keep it that way.

You have a lot of foresight, but you don't go around making predictions. You just let things unfold.
You are steady and encouraging. You are always rooting your friends on from the sidelines.

I got this error message last night: "You have specified a date in the future." No, I haven't. FACEBOOK, GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER!

"You Are William"

You are a smart and contemplative person. You have always been ahead of your time.
You are very curious about the world and enjoy the role of observer. When it comes to many subjects, you definitely know your stuff.

You are dedicated and persistent. You may not be the most aggressive person, but you are assertive in your own way.
You find most other people fascinating. You are not one to intervene much in others' lives, but you will stand up for what is right.

"You Are Waffle Fries"

You are a bit of a rebel and even a lone wolf. You are extremely resistant to peer pressure.
You aren't one to follow the crowd, and you may even run in the opposite direction. You like the solitude of the road less traveled.

You can be a bit of a cynic at times, but you are never too pessimistic. You have a hearty appetite for all of life's experiences, including food.
You like your waffles a little different, and won't just stop at waffle fries. Falafel waffle, anyone?

I had a dream where Jimmy was driving me and Tommy in a van somewhere, and Jimmy kept saying that he would choose Tommy over me, even as he dropped him off at a house somewhere before going into Richmond (where we both lived for whatever reason) and hanging out with me at a crowded conference. Okay then, subconscious! I'm probably going to make a new Facebook music group called COME AS YOU ARE, too. Tommy would automatically be blacklisted because of my rule of not typing like a moron. Punctuation is important! Jimmy says he wouldn't choose him over me, so we'll see.

"Your Intellect Eclipses Your Isolation"

You are constantly seeking to know more about the world. Understanding is always your key to happiness.
You may not be a naturally social person, but you connect with others freely when shared interest, knowledge, and passions are involved.

You are curious about the world and new ideas. You are open to changing your mind, and are constantly collecting information.
You are not quick to judge someone, even if you think you disagree. You seek to learn more instead.

Not sure about the last two sentences, especially right now at my stage of life! I can be quite comfortable judging people, especially if they act defensive / manipulative / supercilious / toxic! Trust me, I had to deal with at least one of those people last week! No, thanks! I have no time for that!

That reminded me to call Barry AGAIN at 11:45 to see if I could change our appointment time since that's also on Wednesday. This time, I left a message! He called me back shortly after, saying that he'd been going to call me because he also wanted to change the appointment time since he'll be in Vancouver for longer than he thought. Last night, Tommy was being pretty annoying with his continuous Facebook messages, so I gave him one-word answers till he apparently got the hint. Then he dragged me into a Facebook group chat with Helen and Jimmy at 10:15 PM to talk about Jen and defend her behavior. We weren't too impressed with his excuses and "staying neutral" for a manipulative and defensive and condescending "friend," to say the least! Then I was not happy when Tommy messaged me earlier today by saying that he'd allow me my space, but I could talk anytime I was willing to. What?! I later sent that screenshot to Helen and Jimmy in our own group chat. No, I am not rude for setting boundaries and telling him like it is. Jimmy apparently read everything at work today, at least.

I headed out at 4:35 to the Boston Pizza $5 individual pizza deal event, where I got a Meateor individual pizza with some ice water. Then I went to Price Smart for on-sale Good Taste dumplings (Chicken / Cabbage and Cabbage / Pork), Campbell's cream of mushroom soup x3, and Huy Fong rooster sriracha since the Uni-Eagle sriracha isn't doing it for me. I looked at the available Cup-A-Soup boxes, but they didn't have any four-packs. At the checkout, I called out some lady for putting her unwanted items at the end of the conveyor belt right where I was going to put MY items! I said that I was not going to buy her shit by mistake, and she said "What?!" I merely stared at her and repeated myself, noting that she had way more than 10 items, including four balloons and a whole chicken. After I finally got out of there, I walked to London Drugs for a more relaxed shopping experience. I got Arm and Hammer whitening toothpaste and two boxes of chicken noodle Cup-A-Soup before finally getting home at 6:25 on a 401 since I didn't want the ice on the dumplings to melt.

Today is Left-Handers Day! I had to deal with a lot of online drama this morning, which involved some rude and condescending Penguins fan named Jennifer who thought that she had an IQ of 169, and that my "attitude problem" could be solved by talking to her. I don't THINK so! Thank goodness Helen Y. understood, while Jimmy could definitely relate, and Tommy was okay with people leaving that Metropolis Division group chat on Facebook. Hopefully, Jimmy and I can forge more of a friendship! I think it's a good sign that he says he trusts me (gotta make sure that stays) and wants me to speak my mind / anything to him. I'll just take this friendship slowly, as per usual.

In FINAL FANTASY VI: THE ETERNAL CRYSTALS, the party finally makes it to the Ancient Castle dungeon. They find Queen Yunalesca's Diary in a room to the right of the throne! "A book, with a gem-encrusted cover... Queen Yunalesca's Diary."

In the GBA version of FINAL FANTASY VI, the diary is simply "The Queen's Diary." In the SNES version (not pictured), the diary is even more simple: "Queen's Diary." It says, "The Queen's Diary... I have fallen in love with Odin. It is a forbidden love, I know... But the flames of passion obey not rule or reason..."

This is from the SNES version: If Terra is in the FINAL FANTASY VI party at this point, she will have something to say after everyone reads the Queen's Diary. "Love between a human and an Esper..." Yes, that is her defining character trait!

"You Are the Judicial Branch"

You have a well-developed sense of right and wrong, but you are always open to changing your mind about the details.
You have a very rational mind. You never judge until you learn all of the facts and context for something.

You are good at seeing issues in full. You can hold a lot of details in your head at once, and you're able to organize chaos.
You aren't an overly emotional person, and you can see when people are arguing from emotion. You can step back and assess without passion.

"You Are Balanced"

You're the type who likes everything in moderation, and you're especially good at balancing out life's extremes.
You are a bit of a novelty seeker, and you like to have a really good mix of things in your life. There is always room for something or someone new.

You meld well with many different types of people, and you can bridge the gap in groups where members have little in common.
You don't take anything in life too personally and seriously. If you have a bad day or week, you know things will eventually even out.

From Reddit on July 27, 2017: Stop whining, StripedPinkBoxers. "The phrase "girl crush" upholds heteronormativity in such an unnecessary way!" I personally don't think so. I'm cool if you're LGBT, but you have to realize that heterosexuality (and monogamy) is the assumed default for society! In the past, she's even tried challenging me on what I'd think if Nephew #4 was in fact a girl. Nice try, but I'd treat a nephew and a niece the same basic way! I'm also definitely not a fan of people abbreviating "THOUGH" as "tho." Also, LegsForAboutAnHour is a prostitute who got raped.

It was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT at 7:30 AM this morning. After finding mouse droppings in the kitchen and looking things up online, I went to London Drugs at 10:20 on a 407. Unfortunately, there was an older lady at the bus stop who thought that I wanted to be the recipient of endless talking about when the next bus would get there. I gave her the eminently unhelpful answer of "no" when asked for the time, and an equally unhelpful answer of "five minutes ago" when asked if and when I left my house, hahaha. I also don't flip off drivers THAT often, but WHY WOULD YOU DRIVE INTO A PEDESTRIAN'S PATH WHEN THEY'RE TRYING TO CROSS AT AN UNMARKED CROSSWALK?! Once I finally got to the store, I got index cards / two on-sale jugs of bleach / some zebra duct tape. I was up at 6:30 AM, so it was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT! My glasses arm broke at approximately 7 AM this morning, so since I was going to go out to the nearby medical clinic anyway (removal for hearing!), I went to Factory Direct / Factory Optical. At least this time, I don't have Korey trying to manipulate me into seeing him instead (and into being "best friends" with Randal) like I did in early January 2008, although white Eric's concern about transit was good! The Canada Line took me to Factory Direct / Factory Optical way sooner than transit did back then, too!

My only problem was being unable to find my spare glasses in any drawer! Before I left, I called the medical clinic to see about their walk-in schedule. I got an appointment at 4:30, so I went out to the glasses place first. It was definitely more convenient to use the Canada Line to bus to Broadway and Ash: just get off at Olympic Village and walk not even half a block! The repair cost $25! I got home at 12:45 on a 407, at least. Then the clinic called me at 4:15 to check whether I was still coming in - of course! Dr. Schmaltz (?) was filling in and did my removal for hearing in an efficient manner, so I got home at 4:50. Not bad!

I went out at 1 on a C94 to go to the Brighouse Library mini book sale, which I'd heard about yesterday on Facebook Events, eventually buying Age of Iron (Angus Watson), The City Stained Red (Sam Sykes, who also happens to be Diana Gabaldon's son!), The Dinosaur Lords (Victor Milan), The Awakened Mage (Karen Miller), and The Boleyn Inheritance (Philippa Gregory) - not bad for $2.75! Then I went to KFC at Richmond Centre for two chicken wings because of CHICKEN WING DAY, which proved to be more expensive overall at $5.55 than six pieces for $9. The last stop was Shoppers Drug Mart, where I took advantage of the sale on Ben and Jerry's ice cream: Chocolate Fudge Brownie / NEW Peanut Butter Half-Baked! I got home at 2:10 on a 401 since I didn't want to risk the ice cream melting in the heat, as I'd just missed the 407.
