MORE COFFEE TIME! IT IS LEAP YEAR 2020 TODAY! The Canucks played the Leafs today at 4, and lost 4-2... DAMN EMPTY-NET GOALS AND MY BIRTHDAY BUDDY AUSTON MATTHEWS! Eric Ho confirmed yesterday via text that he was coming over, and also called me at 12:10 to iron out some details, so YAY! I got him to pick up a 24-pack of Nestlé Pure Life bottled water from Price Smart on the way since I was running out. He got here at 2:15, so that was good. We talked about the parking pass / my spare keys, the skyrocketing coronavirus news, Nathan being overseas right now, the 2001 version of THE MUMMY RETURNS with Brendan Fraser, Jeremy, washing hands, my Ontario trip, the bacon quiche / Reser's mashed potatoes / meat lasagna / macaroni and cheese / Peanut Butter Pie Oreos / Mackie's Crispy Bacon chips / Mackie's haggis and cracked black pepper chips, the Lindt / Nutter Butter I gave him in a Ziploc bag, and David Ayres the Zamboni driver. He also called "coronavirus" SARS, and called the Alcan aluminum foil "cling wrap - you know what I mean." Not really or not at first, but he's still a good friend of mine!

Also discussed Jann Arden / a halftime show, 2011 and the Boston Pizza name change, HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA, my slipper socks / high heels bag / Boston Pizza gift card from Ruth and Joan, Carey Price / Patrick Roy (possible) trades / the trade deadline activity on Monday, ICBC driver premiums and car insurance, whether I caught any of Sedin Week, and the 9-3 Boston Bruins blowout the other night. Conversed about his smelling my hot sauce, the playoffs, Jim Hughson, his not preferring to drive during sunset / twilight hours, a cow in a plane for a THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR movie scene with Jet Li, and Don Cherry's podcast / being fired, the Juno Awards, the Simpsons controversy, Apu, and Krusty the Clown before he left at 6:40 after a disappointing Leap Day / Leap Year LOSS! DAMN EMPTY-NETTERS! Sure, I'll collect my empty bottles for him to redeem somewhere if he offered! Of course he did the dishes WITHOUT COMPLAINING!

I finally left that V4F Discord server run by cliquey millennials with double standards for the original members vs. people who joined later, because the "mod" SJ and a person with "just his opinions on your food photos and presentation" (KPOP) HAVE PISSED OFF THE WRONG PERSON! I am the FIRE DRAGON! "Vancouver for friends," my ass! Violet / Faith put me in touch with the server owner - after a brief conversation with Divine Sword, he isn't going to do anything about it because I was snarky as well. Uh yeah, of course I was.

Mom also sent me a WhatsApp message asking whether I said thank you to Eric for his Sunday ride. First of all, he was going to UBC anyway for hockey! Secondly, what's the more reasonable assumption: I did, or I didn't?! I don't need to be treated like a child! Fuck this shit. That's why I ignore her. She also asked whether I said thank you to Harmony's parents - I ignored that, too.

After I had COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 12:35 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got NEW on-sale Wei Chuan dumplings (Pork / Green Onion, Pork / Leek / Shrimp, Beef / Green Onion), NEW Edo spicy noodles, bananas, Joyya unfiltered chocolate milk, on-sale Western Family spiced apple cider, on-sale Western Family juices (pineapple / regular apple / pure apple / mango / grape / mixed berry / orange), and NEW Japanese matcha green tea Kit-Kats. I also got Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Oreos for National Pie Day and National Peanut Butter Day today, Sour Cream and Onion Goldfish crackers, NEW Nando's Peri-Peri sauce, Mentos Fresh Mint / Cherry Mint / Spearmint gum x3, on-sale Earth's Own almond milk, on-sale Lysol 110-pack wipes x2, on-sale Cottonelle toilet paper x2 (almost half-price), Stouffer's Sauté Sensations meals x4, on-sale sushi roll D ($2 off because it expires tomorrow), on-sale shredded Soo Keta wild Pacific salmon, and Shirakiku prepared hot shredded squid. Later, I paid my Shaw bill online at home. I had to use my NG lungpower 12 times today on millennial phone zombies, oblivious Asians, and people with no spatial awareness who blocked my way in aisles or otherwise - they weren't even looking around / for things! I just said "EXCUSE ME!" since I had no patience for anything else! Saw Chris Noble at the store, who seems more out of it than he did 20 years ago, but at least I said HEY to Ray.

After COFFEE TIME, I left at 12:35 on a 407 for my dentist appointment with Sean on FRASER instead of Oakridge - sigh. I had to leave myself plenty of time for getting lost (seeing Krista at Gilbert and Westminster - "Ontario is a magical place because I've never been there"?!), and had to take a 99 at Broadway / Cambie, and then an 8 Fraser bus around the corner at Fraser till I got to 19th, right across from Glad Tidings church. I would have been there earlier than half an hour early if SOME PEOPLE hadn't hesitated for 45 microseconds at the Brighouse station elevator - BE EFFICIENT AND NOT SLOW WHEN OTHERS ARE PLAINLY WAITING FOR YOU AT THE DOOR! The new location has more space and okay enough wifi, plus actual hooks for your coats and things! I had to have an X-ray, but it's not my fault that my mouth is SMALL! Learned that Sean is getting married in July, too! I have to wait till July to try The Pie Hole across the street because I got fluoride as part of my treatment today. Also got a receipt where the insurance paid 100%, but for some reason, I'm keeping it for now.

Went to the Broadway London Drugs to buy an on-sale Creature Chumper with 1500 Zorbees for Hiero's birthday, on-sale Stemnex 4D Transforming Robots for Ayler's birthday, on-sale Nescafé Taster's Choice instant coffee in a 250g canister, and on-sale Andes candy cane Peppermint Crunch before going to Pho Extreme Xe Lua to have a large #17 and figure out the wi-fi from the nearby A&W. Some guy ahead of me was in a fucking hurry at the exit of London Drugs, saying "excuse me" - nope, we are both directly headed to the doors, so you will have to wait. I should have dawdled even more because he was an impatient ass! It's not like I dropped anything, after all. I also had to deal with THE most recalcitrant self-checkout machine! It wouldn't give me the correct start-up screen (thinking I had items to re-scan), wouldn't give me enough time to find a barcode, wouldn't let me scan something without a barcode (the coffee), and wouldn't let me pay without calling an attendant! UGH! SO TIME-CONSUMING!

Finally got home at 5:20, and saw Hester and Ni, so told them about the mouse / steel wool problem, which luckily I had a photo of on my phone! I did notice an odd metallic clanking sound coming from my bag, which turned out to be two of Beckett's red / white molecule balls from yesterday's throwing activities. No wonder I noticed him standing at my bag looking into it, but he does have plenty of balls, so he should be fine till next week. He did seem interested in the safety fluorescent slap bracelet, too. I'm also going to wash the socks that Harmony loaned me.

Today is National Sandwich Day! :D I had to change the clock an hour back - UGH! Shaw had a five-hour outage at Minoru Park - DOUBLE UGH! I survived by napping (had a dream that I couldn't get out of bed and the electricity was finicky), reading TRUTH TRIVIA AND THE PURSUIT OF FACTINESS (Bathroom Reader #32), texting Paulo / white Eric about Chinese Eric / Pothead Mike (no, I'm not thinking of losing touch if I switch communication modes!), and eating some Stagg Chili Southwest Chicken Style with jasmine rice.

The Canucks played Edmonton tonight at 7 in their first game of the 2019-2020 NHL season, and lost 3-2. Chinese Eric texted me yesterday afternoon wanting to come over today at 4 after lunch and errands, so I resigned myself to a lot of talking and said yes, getting the parking pass ready. I did have to give him the strawberry / original / mango / banana / peach / melon / apple Milkis cans, after all, and could also use him to pick up a carton of almond milk that I forgot last week at the store. He came by at 4 after COFFEE TIME and SHOWER TIME, wanting to watch the Leafs game, but also picked up a carton of almond-coconut milk from the store instead of the almond milk I wanted, saying that I'd failed to specify. IF I WANTED NASTY COCONUT MILK (WHICH I DON'T), I'D HAVE SAID SO! We did try the Dr. Oetker salted caramel cheesecake, which was okay. Then he said that printing out the Canucks schedule was a waste of paper - he should have seen how much paper I wasted on things which weren't perfect to me! Besides, it works for me when I want to plan stuff during the hockey season - SO THERE!

He left at 5 to exchange the milk at Price Smart... GOOD! By that time, I'd composed the email to him / white Eric / Jeremy (who'd thanked me for my "Happy Birthday" email earlier) / Jon / Christon / Randal about his proposed 12 Kings hangout on October 22 to watch the Raptors championship banner unveiling after we figured out WHY their first preseason game was at 3 AM. (it's in Tokyo...) We had Western Family 8-vegetable lasagna with multigrain pasta for dinner: Carrots / green and red Bell peppers / spinach / zucchini / cauliflower / broccoli / black olives! Also talked about his seeing Corey Hirsch at the art gallery, the Leafs-Senators game (Toronto won 5-3), bottled water, his doing the dishes, live-action remakes of things like ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS and ALADDIN, "you know" all the time (FILLER ANNOYANCE!), McDonalds / Tim Horton's hockey cards, that Grow-A-Husband, my guestbook, the SIMPSONS, Channel 22 highlights, and more. Then he finally left soon after the game ended, at 9:40. Now it's time for video game music to relax!

It's National Punctuation Day today... MY FAVORITE! After COFFEE TIME, I had to leave at 2 on a 401 and then a 410 (which I just got to on time, no thanks to idiots blocking my path on the sidewalk) for my appointment with Dr. Ruby before I helped with the kids. That was uncomfortable - I also saw a professional Audrey. Also, I had to buy more NEW Beehive Burst Peppermint lip balm at the Dollar Tree since there was no photo online that I could find, so I had to take my own photo. (I had ripped mine open last week before I figured this out...) I was there on time, but STILL had to wait 20 minutes to be seen! UGH! I should have gone to Dollar Tree before rather than after! Then I tried to speedwalk over to Lansdowne station a block and a half away, and just missed a Waterfront train thanks to these two slow ladies on the elevator going down.

When I got to Marine Drive station, I definitely needed a snack, so I went to Tim Horton's. Luckily, there was no lineup, so I got a non-sticky cheese tea biscuit and then got out of there to find that a wheelchair wanted to get on the 3 as well. Then a stroller wanted to get on - at least this one contained a fairly curious kid who growled and made various noises, unlike the other stroller who got on after that one left! After another delay caused by the driver stopping in the middle of the road for five minutes to check an alarm that was going off, I finally got to Mount Pleasant at about 4:20 when I could have been there at 4:05! Too many delays! Yeah, I used Term to complain to via text, haha.

Inside, Penny was just finishing up speech therapy while Beckett was failing at napping again. Almost right after Penny left, it was off to the park across the street because Harmony wanted to walk Beckett around the playground to see if he'd nap then. Spoiler alert: He did not. Ayler asked if I wanted to play tag or Manhunt - no, because I had run out of energy and was like a car which had run out of gas. Hiero asked why I walked how I did, so maybe Jon and Harmony should talk to him about it at some point. Once we got home again after more promises of consequences, I got to play with Beckett for a bit. He liked the baby pop-up toy because it made him laugh more than usual, wanted me to shake my head a lot because it was funny, liked PEEK-A-BOO as per Hiero, tried eating my DRAGON HOODIE strings again, and climbed on me a few times. (he did pull Hiero's hair, though!)

At the same time, Hiero was trying to show me his origami. Blowing up squares to make huge boxes, oh my! Later, I stayed close as Beckett crawled on the couch despite Ayler telling me not to let him do it. Well, you're doing and completing a HUGE connect-the-dots puzzle, so I'll do what I want while keeping Beckett safe in my own way, including trying to put on one of his missing socks. We had salmon, congee, Chinese chicken soup, meatballs with ketchup and barbecue sauce, some veggies, and ridiculous amounts of shredded pork. Then we talked about whether Jon had been shot today at the Downtown Eastside (he was fine and didn't have to lie on the floor as per Hiero's question), why people shoot at each other ("because some people think that the best way to resolve their problems is with guns" and "that's why we don't joke about guns"), my Cactus Club birthday dinner, Ayler seeing Brooke early this morning ("how do you know?"), Hiero doing flips and gymnastics in the elevator earlier and being injured, and how much everyone in the family could eat compared to each other.

After I washed dishes for a bit, I read to Hiero about Optimus Prime and the Decepticons, then listened to Ayler play a boogie on the piano before listening to him read a Level 2 story about polar bears. Sure I had to help him with some words, but that's normal. I left at 7:20, but couldn't get a 3 bus till 7:40 thanks to a couple of buses being out of service! I missed a Brighouse train by five minutes, and JUST managed to get a 407 at Brighouse, no thanks to people blocking my path where I was going to run to the front door of the bus. Do I really have to shove my way past other people all the time to get where I'm going in a timely fashion?! I got home at 8:35, checked my mail, and found Julie's birthday card plus random stuff - yay!

Random stuff: Nathan returning the OUTLANDER novel to me, six packs of Compliments Safeway brand spicy chicken instant noodles, and yet another pair of reading glasses. Good thing I didn't buy the Jergens lotion today because of all the walking I had to do, AND the utter weight of the 650-page paperback book!

9/15/19 is also a palindrome date! I looked up Uncle John's Truth, Trivia, and the Pursuit of Factiness Bathroom Reader (Bathroom Readers Institute) online, and after getting an error message on the Indigo website search, I managed to find it on the site! Then I looked up the Richmond Chapters number, and also managed to put it on hold for me since I was going out to the mall later anyhow - YAY! After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 4:10 on a 407 to meet the family for dinner at the Richmond Centre White Spot. In addition to the Bathroom Reader, I also picked up Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Beyond The Bizarre 16th Annual (Ripley's Believe it Or Not) up since it was just $15. Yeah, it made my bag moderately heavier, but I could handle it. Since I was at Shoppers anyway to prove to Highspirits that a LOT of Nature Valley bars here (his favorite!) were CRUNCHY and you needed a bowl to eat them, I bought the three chewy kinds I could find. Bonus: They were ON SALE! Fruit and Nut, Dark Chocolate, and Mixed Berry!

Thank goodness the mall and White Spot had wi-fi since everyone was LATE! Harmony wondered what I was doing with my phone after she got back from buying clothes at The Children's Place, so I assured her that I wasn't saying anything about the kids on Discord, and she thanked me for that. Jon says that Jeremy spends a lot of time on Twitch, and figured I wasn't really a gamer - true, but it passes the time for sure! The boys greeted me with what I took to be HAPPY BIRTHDAY - better than Mom's greeting of "Do you know how to cancel a person who is dead?" Um, what?! Beckett just stared at me until he warmed up in the high chair - looking out the window, clapping, laughing, and slapping the table were all entertainment to him!

After I had DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, the handyman came by at 11:30 to install the brand-new toilet float valve - YES! I don't care if it takes 90 seconds to fully refill the toilet (tank) now, because at least it works! Better than Hester lecturing me about "flush the toilet tenderly and not with a boom boom boom"... whatever THAT means!

Barry picked me up at 12 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got All-Dressed / Salt and Vinegar / BBQ / Ranch Crispers, on-sale Silk almond milk / chocolate milk, JOY dumplings x5, Dare Foods Limited chocolate cookie chips, on-sale Cottonelle toilet paper x2, Campbell's mushroom soup x5, NEW Miss Vickie's Signatures chips (Hickory Smoked Salt), on-sale Stouffer's microwaveable meals x2 (Chicken Alfredo / Homestyle Pot Roast), and on-sale Western Family frozen vegetables.

Also bought an on-sale Gizella Pastry assorted cheesecake (mango / New York / strawberry / blueberry), Western Family dill pickle chips, Western Family ripple chips, mini Chantilly Choux cream puffs (POPPIES!), NEW Activia strawberry / vanilla / peach yogurts, and NEW on-sale Ben and Jerry's Salted Caramel Almond ice cream. After that, I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online when I got home at 1:15. EARLY! I also managed to go to the dumpster and throw out the light Sunbeam toaster oven which I haven't used for the year I've had it, AND was taking up counter space in the kitchen. Suck on THAT, Hester! :P

Then I went to London Drugs at 7:05 on a 401 to get NEW on-sale Hazelnut M and Ms, on-sale Almond M and Ms, a green tea Kit Kat, NEW Cadbury Curly Wurly chocolate, on-sale Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream, and 400 Mead index cards before returning home on the same 401 at 7:25. The bus driver said that I'd been fast - yes, I like bus efficiency AND ice cream not melting when it's humid outside! When I got in, my phone "ding=donged" at me - turned out to be Corey on LINE. I can live with that, haha!

After SHOWER TIME, I went to see Rishu at Touchstone at 2 today. Thank goodness that she was understanding about yesterday and was able to get me in today because of a cancellation! I browsed Richmond Public Market for a while - no food was appealing. Went to London Drugs for NEW Dare Foods Cookie Butter cookies, NEW Watermelon and Lime Tictacs Mixers, Arm and Hammer toothpaste, a pack of six grey MARTEX cloths, store brand scour pads, 2000 Flushes with chlorine, Secret socks, and on-sale Swiss Cheese crackers. I also mailed Fraser's birthday card and stickers for $2, but forgot to address the envelope before leaving the house. LUCKILY, I had my notebook handy! I finally got home at 4:40 on a LATE 407!

I got dryer sheets (Mountain Rain 120 - August 22, 2018), NEW on-sale original I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, lots of on-sale Western Family items (chips x9 / pudding cups x3 / frozen vegetables / ammonia x2 / pure white vinegar / macaroni / fusilli / penne rigate / orzo / Mountain Rain laundry detergent / perogies x2 / dish detergent x3 / roasted garlic chicken tortellini / Swiss 72% dark chocolate), on-sale GOOD TASTE dumplings x3, store brand white grape juice, store brand cranberry-black cherry juice, on-sale Gizella Pastry mango cheesecake, on-sale Samyang Fire Noodles in Curry flavor x2, bananas, on-sale Silk Canada almond milk, store brand ibuprofen, and store brand Key Lime cookie bites! After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I went out at 3:05 on a 407 bus to help with the kids at 4. I checked to see if Shoppers had any cheaper lip balm - I was unwilling to pay $9.99 for a little tube of Burt's Bees once I finally found it at the back of the store (even London Drugs has it for cheaper!), so I went straight to Mount Pleasant instead. Turns out Jon wanted to meet at Bellagio Gelato - worked for me, even if I had to wait for a bit. Hell, I could just hop on their wi-fi from just outside the doors. They showed up at about 4:45, and Ayler asked how long I'd been waiting, and about my route. I joked and said five hours, then revised it to 15 minutes. Beckett didn't seem to like his sunhat, but the kids got white bubblegum gelato (with no bubble gum pieces!) while I got some raspberry sorbetto. Of course I did the polite thing and thanked the ug! We tried offering some to Beckett, but he turned his head away like his brothers had when they were one year old. Maybe when he's four years old, he'll like it!

Ayler, Hiero, and I talked about the puzzle with the most pieces: 551,232 pieces?! I totally blew their minds with that factoid! They were impressed by the photo which I was able to find online, too. We walked or ran back home - with lectures about stranger danger and people possibly grabbing them - and I was able to hang out with the kids and Harmony. Catching Beckett whenever he crawled to the back window because he threw his red ball around, preventing him from fitting under the couch, his chewing toys and seeming interested in the Christmas baby books at times, almost tripping over crap in the way (hopefully not hurting Beckett), flossing, and ODE TO JOY piano music.

More origami, SIMON SAYS, some calorific pasta for Beckett (who just threw everything on the floor anyway), what had lots of calories, school and therapy, calling Dad for his birthday, reading books about bikes and trains, the double-layer puzzle, salad, Chinese noodles with peanut sauce, allergies, blueberries, calories, corn on the cob, and hugging Beckett to me when his brothers were being too rambunctious with pinches and he wanted support and security since we were all in a tiny circle... that was heartwarming and he wasn't scared of me! Ayler wanted me to come next week - sure, but do I have to smell their poo air?! They laughed at that, of course. I was able to leave at about 8 (Harmony thinks I did a good job with all the kids?!), grabbed the 3 Marine Drive Station bus, and was able to find some more lip balm x4 while I was out... gotta have backups! At least I was able to find the beauty section at T&T - $1.79 for one tube is way better than $9.99 to $11.99, no matter if Burt's Bees is more "quality" than Chapstick! I also grabbed a pack of Paldo Bul Jjamppong noodles on my way out. Got home at 9:30 on a 407, which is good.

I took a shower, did some laundry, and had COFFEE TIME before Eric Ho texted me to cancel the BC Lions-Edmonton Eskimos hangout since he had to to stay at work till 7:30 or so. (he COULD say no, but maybe not!) "Are you coming? Yes or no." "Yeah, I have to stay a bit later, so text you later since I have to take a raincheck on the hangout." Fine, I'll just use my $10 off coupon by myself with no heavy things! I went to London Drugs first at 3:10 to get four DEFINITE big reusable bags (I only had four small ones?!), a dark green MARTEX bath towel, a shopping cart with a cooler bag ($54.99 to $24.99 SALE!), and two more London Naturals foam scour sponges.

Luckily, I was able to sort of tuck the cart under my arm and then waited for the bus home - got there at 4:05 on a 401. Later, I went to Price Smart with my $10 coupon at 5:35 on a 401. I noticed that Chantelle deactivated her Facebook account AGAIN. Either shit or get off the pot, dude! Paulo dropped by at 9:45 to pick up some Quaker Oatmeal that I'd offered him last week. Then since he was here, he ate some Uncle Ben's Long Grain and Wild mushroom rice / 2X Spicy Samyang noodles (he was DYING!) / Shin Ramyun premium black noodles. We talked about BLOODSTAINED and post-game content, those shit glitter pills, Darryl, Brian, Steve getting a new job, vaginal glue lipstick, Canada Day weekend plans, and "summer vagina." I didn't mind that it was relatively short notice and we didn't say much. He left at 11, which is fine too.

After COFFEE TIME, I walked to London Drugs in the rain at 10:35 to get on-sale Canada Dry ginger ale x6, on-sale Sharpies packs x2, an on-sale Lindt Gold chocolate Easter bunny, on-sale Kinder mini-egg packs x2, on-sale milk chocolate Hershey's Kisses, a huge on-sale Clorox bleach bottle, on-sale Campbell's soup boxes x2 (Golden Butternut Squash / Roasted Potato with Leek), on-sale Waterbridge Cookie Barrel biscuit assortments x2 (tea biscuits and cream biscuits), an on-sale SpongeTowel six-pack, two actual MARTEX red face cloths (the others are too thin for my liking), pads, easy-opening Vim bathroom spray (I tested it in-store away from the aisle), and TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE stickers for Nephew #3 sometime! Good thing I brought my wheeled bag for my planned purchases of ginger ale, toilet cleaner, and bleach since everything else added more heaviness! I couldn't even avoid construction and detours at London Drugs due to elevator maintenance, forcing me to go into the parkade on the second floor past London Drugs! When I got home at 12:15 on a 401, I showered and had lunch before having MORE COFFEE TIME.

GREAT - I JUST GOT A BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH, ACCOMPANIED BY A HORRIBLE NOISE!

Holly mentioned that she was near me this morning for an interview at WorkSafe BC, so I noted the proximity. She asked if I wanted to do lunch, so after checking in with myself, I said yes. I finally left the house at 12 or so. Turns out she saw me at the 401 bus stop at Alderbridge, so we waited together and chatted about her interview, the questions, and how my morning was. Yup, Jimbo would have something to say about a certain person being invited to our chat when he gets back - we should have put it to a vote!

We finally made it to Edo Japan at the Richmond Centre food court, where I had a chicken chop chop bowl and she had some boring cucumber sushi. Talked about Brian, Jeremy, Darryl, Paulo taking a mental health break and needing to talk to someone, rage-quitting, Bath and Body Works, our birthdays, Chinese Eric's lupus, the chat, going to H and M later so I could convince her to get the cute and fun HOLY MOLY GUACAMOLE! thin sweater she'd seen earlier while killing time, encouragement of certain thoughts, a Froshberg Gelato ice cream (her treat - I got Nutella and White Chocolate and she got Pistachio), plus maybe going to the Steveston Canada Day festivities / Cherry Blossom Festival in the summer. When she found out that the next 401 would be in 16 minutes at Brighouse, she said that she was glad to wait for my bus with me, otherwise I'd be bored. No, I had my book and my thoughts! Turns out she did know Bryce Courtenay as a famous Australian writer from back home, but didn't know he'd been born in South Africa. I got home at 2, and was exhausted and drained. NO MORE GOING OUT FOR ME ANYTIME SOON!

I went out at 9:30 on a 401 to meet Mom and Dad at Main and 15th at TXL Insurance, Uncle William Ng's company. (10:30 AM?!) After we had lunch at Kwong Chow and finally took care of the insurance, I did some shopping at the Broadway London Drugs. Bought 400 Mead index cards, store brand all-purpose cleaner, a three-inch Avery binder for my important documents (a definite upgrade!), a red $2 MARTEX washcloth, a GUM toothbrush, and two dark blue $2 GOODY toothbrush covers. Got home at 1:40 to a Purolator notice (ugh), a phone call from Dr. Wise's office, and some other mail, so I had to deal with all of that.

I got a BUDDY THE ELF Christmas card / Tazo Tea x3 (passion herbal tea, vanilla caramel chai, and green ginger tea) / magnetic Fool Moon treasures crow bookmark from Angie H. I discovered redrum last night - UGH! After I had COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 11:50 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got on-sale Uncle Ben's rice x3 (Mushroom / Tomato and Herb / Jambalaya), Nissin black garlic oil noodles / BulJjamppong Korean beef seafood noodles / Paldo Volcano Chicken noodles / Nongshim Kamja Tang Myun rich potato noodles, NEW on-sale Charlotte's holiday butter cookies ($2 more for 430 grams vs. 340 grams for Royal Dansk), on-sale toys for Hiero's birthday presents where the original price even beats the Amazon price (EMOJI MOVIE Memory matching card game / Mega Bloks Smash Stunt Zeg truck), on-sale Cottonelle toilet paper x2, on-sale spearmint Dentyne gum, and Hainanese chicken which expires on the 23rd.

After that, I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online at home. Then I got a Christmas photo card from Janet S. (ghost_light) and Christmas presents and stuff from Julie in a bubble-wrap envelope! A Christmas card with stickers, red and pink CHRISTMAS HOUSE penguin socks, a fun and fuzzy JOT ballpoint pen, Women Daredevils: Thrills, Chills, and Frills (Julie Cummins / Cheryl Harness), eight sticker sheets (Christmas glitter / wild animals / truck stickers which Ayler and Hiero would probably stick all over the floor if I gave it to them / five more assorted sheets), two fun and encouraging little notebooks ("You can do this!" / "Best day ever!"), and a penguin pouch of Cappuccino For You! Eric Ho also finally emailed me back, saying that with his current work schedule, the 27th is the only date that could work for a hockey hangout before the new year. Well, at least he'll keep me posted!

I discovered redrum symptoms today - UGH! Mom wanted to drop by this afternoon with the locking containers, toilet paper, and Kleenex that she'd forgotten, so I said she could do so just to get it out of the way. She dropped by about an hour earlier than I was expecting, at 12:35 or so. Meh, at least I got a nice jacket out of the deal?

These green tea biscuits say, "TEA IS A GATEWAY DRUG TO BISCUITS" and "KEEP CALM AND EAT BISCUITS." Hilarious! I ate all the bakery biscuits in one sitting, too.

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: Eight rolls of Royale toilet paper, Royale Kleenex boxes x2, a nice brown London Fog coat which needs to be dry-cleaned, 50 TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES fruit-flavored candy canes, 15 food storage containers in varying sizes (some very tiny, some locking, some plastic, some glass), an apron from Daiso, a pink Coldwater Creek shirt, and a thin Jake One "Think The Nature" shirt vest.

Matt H. unfriended me or deleted his Facebook account, whichever. I discovered that my new CHAMPION shoes were pretty small when it came to taking them off, so after looking up the return policy up online AND calling the store just in case, it was off to the mall on the C94 at 3:30. Luckily, they let me exchange the shoes (paying a $2.80 "cash difference" fee on shoes that are the SAME PRICE) even though there were light dirt marks on them, so I got men's CHAMPION shoes size 7. Not sure why I didn't realize I was buying kids' shoes yesterday... I got home at 4:10 and made dumplings while reconnecting with Jimmy and Lena via Facebook messenger.

After (MORE) COFFEE TIME, I left at 11:40 AM on a 407 to make it to Jon and Harmony's at 12:15 or so. Apparently, nobody was home, but I heard Ayler's voice a couple of minutes later from the car. Jon made a comment about my San Francisco shirt - yeah, it's pretty noticeable, but I don't care. I entertained the kids while Jon went to Anna's Cake House to get various bakery items for lunch before his violin student Justin came over. They wanted me to read a Chinese vocabulary book and a RUN SALMON RUN book. I helped the kids eat lunch, and made Hiero eat some pork bun to get some protein. No, you're not eating a "meal" that is 98% cantaloupe and cherries! Ayler kept asking me what time Harmony would be home if she was in Kerrisdale or UBC since she got off work early; no idea! Harmony did get home later, when Jon was teaching and telling the boys to listen to me. At least I told them that fact about the 35.4-mile tunnel in Sweden, to which Ayler's only question was "how many hours does it take to get there?" Probably a long time! Harmony mentioned that Ayler had physio, so I could keep Hiero occupied with the toys there. Sure, why not? I sat on a chair there and it BROKE! The owner (Laura) came out to see whether I'd fallen, and the receptionist and other people there seemed concerned too. Apparently, it was a hardware fault which should never have been there. Maybe, maybe not!

We talked about roller coasters and "BUS!" (lots of 8 Fraser buses!) on the short walk to Robson Park from the physio clinic. While there, Ayler wanted to take some other little girls' grapes AND toy buckets! We got a bunch of Vietnamese sandwiches for dinner so we could have something besides blackberries. If Hiero had his way, he'd eat 90% blackberries for dinner - NO! Ayler asked how many hours it would be until I left, then wanted me to stay seven more hours at 7 PM. No, because you'd go to bed soon, and I want to definitely be home way before 1:30-2 AM when the trains and buses stop regular service! When Jon was teaching a piano student named Curtis, I helped to keep Hiero occupied with the "tunnels and arches." I actually got home at 8:05 on a 407, which is relatively efficient at least!
