THERE WAS ANOTHER WATER SHUTOFF TODAY - NOT IMPRESSED! After I had COFFEE TIME and fielded an early-morning phone call from Megan at the Burrard eye clinic (Dr. Wise wants to see me this week to check her lens choice?! Friday it is...), Barry picked me up at 11 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got bananas, on-sale Silk vanilla almond milk, on-sale Nissin noodles x4 (XO Sauce / seafood / black garlic oil / sesame oil), Koka Noodles x2 (Spicy Black Pepper / Tomato), on-sale Uncle Ben's rice x3 (Smokey Flavor / Tomato and Herb / Mushroom Wild rice), MAGGI LETUP / Maggi Kari Letup noodles, and one litre of NEW on-sale Yamasa soy sauce which expires in late October 2020 (I was able to pull off the annoying tab in the store!) / NEW Allen's Vinegar 500 mL of malt vinegar (crammed with the white vinegar and red vinegar on the Western side of Price Smart) / 700 grams of on-sale Laoganma spicy chili crisp oil for DUMPLING SAUCE! (my jar opener thankfully worked on that when I got home!)

Also bought on-sale Brookside Chocolate x2 (Blackberry and Honey / Pomegranate), NEW on-sale Peace Tea cans x2 (Sno-Berry / Mango Green Tea), Lucky Me! Mami Beef Noodles, one Stouffer's Sauté Sensations microwaveable meal (Grilled Chicken Teriyaki), Western Family frozen veggies in the BIG bag, NEW Olympic Dairy small yogurt tubs x3 (Fig Honey / Citrus Cardamom / Smoked Applewood Vanilla - each 325 grams), Puritan canned Irish stew, on-sale JOY dumplings x5 for the Big Crazy price of $4.99 per bag (the last five available - Pork and Vegetable x2 / Lamb and Onion x2 / Pork and Chive), NEW on-sale Tropical Salsa Kettle Chips, and on-sale mint Oreo cookies. I think I'm looking forward to all the snack food! Haha!

Additional purchases: On-sale Old Dutch Humpty Dumpty cheese sticks (Habanero and Blue Cheese!), on-sale Excel spearmint Soft Chew gum x3, on-sale Western Family bottled water x12 (gotta keep ahead of all these sudden and unexpected water shutoffs around here lately...), Ben and Jerry's Moophoria ice cream x2 (Peanut Butter Cookie Dough to replace the one that Paulo ate last week on Thursday even though he says he owes me / NEW Caramel Cookie Fix), NEW on-sale Hardbite chips x3 (Sweet Ghost Pepper / Avocado and Lime / Black Sea Salt), NEW on-sale Ruffles Flaming Hot BBQ chips, and NEW Campbell's Everyday Gourmet Asparagus and Sweet Basil soup. I got Ray as my cashier, and Barry made a comment about how it took me two hours at the store. I wasn't expecting to take 20 minutes to find the malt vinegar, no thanks to some employees there! After I got home at 12:55, I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online. Then I waited out the water shutoff - it was back on by 5:30, THANK GOODNESS!

My WHATEVER T-shirt... YAY!

After I had COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 10:50 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got NEW on-sale Samyang curry terrorist noodles, Cottonelle toilet paper x2, on-sale Sidekicks x6 (Creamy Bacon Carbonara / Garlic Butter with Lemon / Creamy Chicken Fusilli / Three-Cheese / Homestyle Cheddar / Tomato Alfredo), Ferrero Rocher hazelnut Easter eggs and NEW Easter Egg Oreos for Eric Ho and me, NEW Dark Chocolate Oreo cookies, Crayola Original washable markers x2 (yay for felts!), on-sale Good Taste dumplings x5 (Cabbage and Pork / Pork and Celery / Cabbage and Chicken / Beef and Vegetable / Pork and Chive), and NEW Dawn Lavender Wisp dish detergent.

Also got bananas, Finesse Daily Renewal shampoo and conditioner, on-sale Western Family garbage bags (60 to a box!), Western Family Skyr yogurt x2 (plain and vanilla!), Nongshim Kamja Tang Myun rich potato noodles, NEW Palmolive Soft Touch dish detergent x2 (Almond Milk and Blueberry / Coconut Butter and Orchid), on-sale Uncle Ben's rice x3 (Tomato and Herb / Cilantro and Lime / Southwest Style) and NEW St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter soothing body wash. Later, I paid my Shaw bill online at home. The Canucks played the Senators at 7 tonight, and won 7-4 after practically blowing a 5-0 lead in the third.

After COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 12:30 for my 1 PM eye appointment at the clinic. Everything is a go for the eye surgery on May 8, and we talked about the nice weather outside. When I got home at 1:45, I had another COFFEE TIME! The Canucks played Chicago at 5:30 today, and won 3-2 in overtime! Bo Horvat got the winning goal, and Elias Pettersen now has the standalone Canucks rookie record for points, passing Pavel Bure and Ivan Hlinka!

It's MARIO DAY today! I had to leave really early after DOUBLE COFFEE TIME because I had to walk to Brighouse station - thanks, endless sewer upgrades and construction! I had the on-sale Lindt chocolate bars (Caramel and Sea Salt / Lime Zest) for Harmony's EARLY family birthday dinner at Como Taperia! (early in more ways than one...) I killed time by purchasing a replacement red sweatshirt at H and M, where I also saw a DRAGON HOODIE! :D

We had a bunch of seafood and tapas (octopus / garlic and bread soup / (mashed) potatoes / eggs) while baby Beckett screamed happily at me (rivaling the restaurant's 80s music), Ayler wanted to check the weather everywhere, and Hiero liked constructing Cheerio towers through his toothpicks. After dinner, Hiero said he wasn't tired despite losing an hour of sleep - good for you! I AM! Mom said she had to pay more money to prevent me from accessing data, and that the dinner was $168; if you think I feel guilty about that, YOU'RE WRONG! Then we had to go to Auntie Eva's to drop something off before the parental trip to Hong Kong to see Great-Aunt and cruise around. At least they'll be away from Wednesday to the end of March! I finally got home at 6:45!

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: A black buttoned Louben jacket, a light blue Vancouver 2010 zippered jacket, an orange Top Shop sleeveless vest. preserved Young Coconut cookies, a blue buttoned jacket, a white Monument sweater vest, and a reddish-purple London Fog winter coat.

After COFFEE TIME, I had to get ready to leave by 11 for Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot at Lansdowne for a lunch with Mom and Dad. Fatty beef, lamb shoulder, Napa cabbage, white noodles, tofu, yams, vegetable and pork dumplings, deep-fried chicken wings, cod fillets, shrimp balls, beef balls, fish balls, tiger prawns, broth, an iced sour plum drink, and tea! Mom complained that they had seen bus stops around my place - yeah, but that doesn't mean they are in service right now! Dad "helped" with my phone's data and wifi settings. Yes, I know Harmony's family birthday is the 10th somewhere. I'll confirm things with Jon in a few days; no need to rush and be impatient about things! They dropped me off at London Drugs, so I walked home and got in at 12:45.

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: $10 cash, Maggi Masala Indian instant noodles x2 which have already expired as of February 3, Nosh and Co. Munch Madness cheddar and sour cream chips, GIM roasted seasoned seaweed x10, a Want Want gift pack (a box of strawberry Lovely Puffs / five small bags of orange QQ Gummies / a box of round chocolate sticks / a bag of milk candy), No Name chicken instant noodle packages x6, No Name chicken cup noodles, Paldo (팔도 (Paldo)) hot and spicy cup noodles, a package of Nissin chicken instant noodles x5, a packet of Wing's Foods hot chili sauce, President's Choice ginger-peach teabags x18, and organic Nighty Night Traditional Relaxation Teas teabags x4.

After COFFEE TIME, I attempted to get to the eye clinic at 1 using the bus stop across the street, but NO! THAT ONE WAS ALSO NON-OPERATIONAL, which I only found out after waiting 20 minutes! So while I was out, I went to the pharmacy next door and asked about the measles shot after using the building's wifi to send some photos to myself. According to Adam, I don't strictly need it - phew! Then I went home and officially cancelled my appointment.

Later, in view of all this shit, I called Mom to see if they could pick me up tomorrow instead - they can do that at 11, so that's better for me. The Canucks played Colorado at 6:30 tonight... the game went to overtime and a shootout, but they lost 3-2! UGH!

FINALLY HOME ON APPRECIATE A DRAGON DAY! I got an egg with salt, milk, and a half-sandwich for breakfast today, and said my goodbyes to Dylan / Deb / Declan / Elysse! Deb even packed me a lunch of last night's pasta and stuff even though Dylan drove me home this morning on the way to school and work?! SO NICE! She even included what looks to be an entire Walmart Great Value store brand frozen lasagna for later consumption whenever! WOW! Steph called later so we could discuss my recovery, NO NEED FOR RUSHING THE OTHER EYE SURGERY while driving me home from the hospital, Mom using my sink as a garbage can for her plastic wrap (which isn't even something that can be washed down the drain!), Henry starting to talk now, and Fraser's daycare.

I went out at 9:30 on a 401 to meet Mom and Dad at Main and 15th at TXL Insurance, Uncle William Ng's company. (10:30 AM?!) After we had lunch at Kwong Chow and finally took care of the insurance, I did some shopping at the Broadway London Drugs. Bought 400 Mead index cards, store brand all-purpose cleaner, a three-inch Avery binder for my important documents (a definite upgrade!), a red $2 MARTEX washcloth, a GUM toothbrush, and two dark blue $2 GOODY toothbrush covers. Got home at 1:40 to a Purolator notice (ugh), a phone call from Dr. Wise's office, and some other mail, so I had to deal with all of that.

I got a BUDDY THE ELF Christmas card / Tazo Tea x3 (passion herbal tea, vanilla caramel chai, and green ginger tea) / magnetic Fool Moon treasures crow bookmark from Angie H. (auralily) and a Ringo the dog Christmas card from Kitty (bornwitch / dutch_kitty) in the mail. Then after calling Dr. Wise's office back, I GOT MY SURGERY TIME! 11:45 at Mount St. Joseph's isn't TERRIBLE! After letting Barry know about the surgery date and then fielding an inconvenient phone call from Mom (I was going to go out before it got dark!), I trekked near YVR on Jericho Road to get to the Purolator via YVR Airport Canada Line, placing myself nearer the airport than I'd intended today, as I told Corey when I got back. HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE! HAPPY 2019!

I had to transit to King Edward Station to meet Dad there, so I left at 3:50, but had to walk back home because I realized I didn't have my bus pass. Turns out it was in the bathroom by the toilet because it fell out of my pocket! I then got to the station at 4:40, where Dad was already, but whatever. When I got to Jon and Harmony's, it was quiet hours because the baby was sleeping, but we talked to Steph on WhatsApp anyway. Mike and Sandy had been partying past midnight, haha! Ayler was practicing his handwriting and letters, while Hiero was busy punching some snow angels from a special hole punch.

We had ham, vegetables, chocolate cookies, my Loaded Potato Skins Ruffles chips, beer, and potatoes for dinner - they even invited Jeremy, and it was good to see him! He, Jon, and I talked about Origami Joe W. picking fights on Facebook (Jon says he did it on Karen's status about Conservatives to the point where Nancy had to step in to tell him to calm down!), the Reddit post about the rat in the soup at Crab Park Chowdery, Christmas / New Year's (r/wtf and r/vancouver and r/frugaljerk), and Twelve Kings pub with Eric Ho. I got to read about trains to Hiero, talk to Ayler for a bit, then play with baby Beckett, who tried eating his sock / my finger / his indestructible baby book.

Baby Beckett turned over to pick a toy up, which earned him praise from me! I also held him briefly before Dad took him from me. At least they drove me home, but ALSO gave me literal garbage to take to my place! I'm VERY sure the snack wrapper would have survived 45 minutes more in the centre console... never mind the FOUR POUNDS of Rockets, Carnaby tub of Halloween candy (another pound), and random white bra they gave me!

Carnaby (Shoppers Drug Mart store brand) tub of Halloween candy: ONE POUND! Thanks, Mom...

After COFFEE TIME, I perforce met Mom and Dad at Wireless Wave at 4 to meet Walter W. and spend money. I did get some Loaded Potato Skins Ruffles chips at Shoppers for New Year's beforehand! Ended up getting a cellphone, paired Bluetooth headphones, and more stuff. Mom talked AT me, which is normal, but even invited Walter to dinner at Neptune. Maybe to set us up, who knows? Luckily, he said NO since he had family commitments. Thank goodness they drove me home at 7:10, saying that Henry is now allergic to eggs and Lisa is going to Saskatchewan Depot for training from mid-January to mid-May. I confirmed this with Steph later, of course. Mom HAD to use my washroom - fine, whatever. She wondered about the security guard - yeah, that's normal now.

2018 Year In Review!

THIS ENTRY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE NON-ALIGNED TAGS.

[Meme fun: Take the first line from the first post of every month of the year. Repost it here as your year in review. (I'm discounting greetings and things like that :P) Yeah, it's been an interesting year!]

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of the year. Post the first line of it in your journal as a paragraph, and that's your "Year In Review."

I got a baby girl card for Jason and Vanessa ("KEEP CALM AND CARRY BABY WIPES"), NEW Shasha organic ginger snaps for Vanessa (no sugar?!), 200g of on-sale Ferrero Rocher, 100 store brand bandages, a NEW Carnation variety pack of hot chocolate (TURTLES Canada / Coffee Crisp / After Eight), and NEW Lipton Chicken Noodle Supreme soup from London Drugs, which has just started charging for plastic bags. SO MUCH ON-SALE BLACK PEPPER SALMON JERKY FOR ME AND JIMMY AND JULIE, OH MY! I called Barry at 8:35 AM to tell him about the mouse on the glue trap which I discovered last night. The computer restarted at 6 AM! I called Barry at 9:40 this morning to remind him about going to Rona for a Victor Pest Chaser Ultrasonic Rodent Repeller, which cost $33. I went to the pharmacy next door at 1:50 to refill my prescription early; yes, even Adam commented on it!

I left at 5:55 to get two 3-subject Hilroy notebooks in green and light blue (for home use and road use) from London Drugs, returning home at 6:40 on a late 407. CHOCOLATE AND BATHROOM REPLACEMENTS GALORE AGAIN, and today's date is a palindrome: 8/1/18! Yesterday, Frances C. emailed me to say that she couldn't make it to Felico's because of work, which is fine. I went out at 12 on a 401 so I could buy Campbell's Chunky Soup (Jerk Chicken with Vegetables / Butter Chicken with Vegetables), NESCAFÉ instant coffee (December 16, 2017), a NEW on-sale limited edition Oh Henry! Canada / Oh Henry 4:25 Pop-Up candy bar, barkTHINS snacking dark chocolate with pumpkin seeds for Thanksgiving dinner, NEW limited edition Doritos Late Night Fully-Loaded Nacho chips, and HALLS assorted mint cough drops. I went out at 12:20 on a 414 to do some shopping for on-sale Halloween candy and Advent calendars. COFFEE TIME while I'm still figuring out why Jimmy blocked me instead of just talking to me about what I did...... I should have posed it as a hypothetical a while ago!

Mom wanted me to go to the restaurant for Jon's birthday dinner at Kingsway and Joyce by myself, spend the night at their place, and then they'd take me home tomorrow. FUCK THAT SHIT is what I say! After COFFEE TIME, Mom and Dad picked me up at 12 so we could go to lunch at #9, go to JYSK in Lansdowne, and then go see Uncle Stanley's female associate Sandy on Kingsway and Slocan about my Disability Savings Plan. I heard way more about growth and investments and stock portfolios than I ever thought possible. After they dropped me off at Oakridge Station, I went to the bathroom (where someone said "hey!" when I used the accessible washroom - TOO BAD BECAUSE I NEEDED TO PEE AND CAN USE THAT ONE!) and then bought on-sale Polar Ice Excel gum x3 from Safeway since I forgot about it yesterday. I got home at 4 on a 401, where I saw John Jugovic, who hasn't seemed to change his opinions since 2002 or so. Ah well...

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: a six-pack of 710mL Coca-Cola which expired on July 1, 2017 (no, thanks!) / a 297g package of Fun Size 3 Musketeers which expires in June 2019 / "large" black, blue, and white pants (maybe if you're a literal child...) / a #9 Restaurant lunch of organ noodles and congee (plus some beef chow mein leftovers) / a thin green T and T Supermarket 大統華超級市場 reusable bag / a skeleton and candy corn Ugly Halloween Sweater ("Get Freaky!") and Nordik boots from JYSK Bed Bath Home in Lansdowne Centre, a random wooden pencil, and a random IKEA Richmond map with random notes on the back.

After COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 10:15 so we could finally go to Dr. Wise's office downtown for my eyeball ultrasound follow-up: MORE PAPERWORK AND APPOINTMENTS! We discussed my nephews, therapy, serial killers using white vans, Ted Bundy, the Green River Killer, Paul Bernardo, BTK, and more. When I got home at 12:25 (after Barry went into "robot mode" and blamed jet lag from Japan), I chilled for a bit. I'll have to go to Dr. Wise's office again for another follow-up appointment on November 29 because of my dense cataract needing to be measured by the UBC Eye Care Clinic on Willow Street. AIYA!

Then I called Barry about my successful Nov. 15 appointment rescheduling with the UBC Eye Care Centre when I called them about it at 1:40. It'll be at 9:15 AM on November 15 [which means he has to pick me up at 8:30 AM because of rush hour] instead of 3:30 PM on the same day. That works better with his scheduling because the Pathways office closes at 4. At least I had a lot of time to write out my plans on index cards and my Wordpress Drafts, plus message CANUCKS NATION about it without other people wanting my attention RIGHT NOW! If it weren't for that, things might be better in that way, but Jimmy IS a narcissist...

Later, I went to London Drugs on a 401 at 5:55 for replacement Garnier Fructis orange Marula Oil shampoo and conditioner / Ivory original body wash, and a purple replacement LifeCandy shower pouf. I also bought two red $2 Cannon / Grand Patrician MARTEX washcloths, on-sale Brookside Chocolate bars x2 for Jon's birthday in November (Roasted Almond and Sea Salt / Cranberry Almond with Blood Orange Flavor), Waterbridge Connoisseur Premium Liqueur chocolate brandy beans (Christmas stuff on sale at the stores already before Halloween...), bulk Always pads, original Dawn dish detergent, and Purell hand sanitizer x3 before getting home at 6:45 on a 407. My first actual shopping trip to London Drugs / this particular London Drugs store after certain things have happened! Woo!

The EcoClean cleaners came today at 10 AM, as advertised, and I had to give them the parking pass and pick it up later when they left at 11:35. They spoke in Spanish most of the time (but did know English) and cleaned a whole lot of things and vacuumed, including my microwave AND sink! The three ladies even dusted my book and CD displays! Of course I gave them a $10 cash tip - NOT $5 as Mom was saying, since that seemed slightly low... even $10 seemed low for three people, but I'll know for next time if there is one! Yes, Hester's husband Ni saw them on the way in as he was trying to fix the recalcitrant front door lock, but I didn't care about that.

I had COFFEE TIME before going out to see Rachel at 2 on a 414 to the Caring Place, then I quickly went home. Earlier, I did use my second pink $10 Mid-Autumn Festival gift certificate at PriceSmart for on-sale assorted Quaker oatmeal x2, on-sale Febreze air fresheners x2 (Hawaiian Aloha and limited-edition Pumpkin Harvest), Bobo's Oat Bars x4 for Jon and Harmony (Chocolate Chip / Maple Pecan / Coconut / Lemon Poppyseed), and on-sale Vileda sponges x9. I also bought Crown Royal Black whiskey (on the recommendation of my Discord friend Dan) and Steamworks Beer pumpkin ale at the liquor store. The Canucks played Carolina today at 4, and lost 5-3. Then I showered... and THEN realized that I bought air freshener instead of fabric refresher dedorizer! Ugh, I wonder if I can exchange it...

After COFFEE TIME and SHOWER TIME, I went out with the barkTHINS snacking dark chocolate with pumpkin seeds at 4:10 to meet Dad at King Edward station so we could get to Jon and Harmony's. If they wanted to invite Randal and his dad (who ended up not coming because he doesn't like meeting strangers...), that was fine. I thought I'd be earlier than needed, so stopped at Marine Drive Station to kill time at T and T. I got some lime Lays chips while I was there! Got to King Edward Station in time, where Dad showed up in their new-to-them car.

Yes, my eye surgery IS important even if I can't see as well out of that eye, thanks very much! We actually got to talk to Steph via FaceTime for a while, too! Ayler and Hiero said hi, made me guess what they did today, pretended their colorful train tracks were Zambonis, asked about eye exams, put way too much cranberry sauce on their turkey, asked if they could have my beer (NO!), and climbed all over me and Randal. I did actually get to see baby Beckett, who is getting started on solids pretty early, but he seems to be okay with it. He smiled at me, and tried taking his colorful toy when (at Jon's direction) I brushed it against his hand. Mom had an unscheduled stop at Foody World (where apples were 28 cents a pound), but I got dinner leftovers (fall salad / turkey / gravy) with random Pocky and three apples when I finally got home at 8:45! I also got my garbage bag full of WASHED JACKETS and WINTER COATS back when the lards gave me a ride home!

Barry A. Cook and Kyriakos Gouridaris tried adding me to Facebook - DENIED! Steph called me unexpectedly the other day (the 13th) to vent about Mom and her overly-complicated planning, especially trying to let JON pick the location for MY birthday AGAIN. His kids are not an excuse for everything! Planning with Lisa's side of the family is "we're inviting ourselves over for dinner... boom, done!" She definitely doesn't miss that OR Mom, but does miss me and seeing the boys. Apparently, Mom was trying to get her to come over for my birthday, but if she wouldn't fly over for Beckett's baby banquet last week... at least Lisa, Fraser, and Henry are doing well. I don't care if she can't make it for my birthday, especially if it's just her solo and everyone else isn't part of Mom's "whole family" image! That's offensive!

Then I called Auntie Catherine last night (the 14th), trying to change our Monday plans to Saturday plans like it originally was. Nope, she has car issues and the doctor's appointment is better for her. Well, I felt bad trying to do that, which is something rare for me. Oh well, at least I briefly talked to Chung on the phone, and Auntie Catherine can just meet me in front of Pepper Lunch!

From Hockey Memes: Brace yourselves... the NHL preseason is coming!

After COFFEE TIME, Eric M. picked me up at 5 so we could go to Golden Spring Restaurant (near the old VCEFC church site) for Beckett's baby banquet. Unfortunately, I forgot his birthday Lindt Excellence dark chocolate bars (Madagascar / Pink Peppercorn) and birthday card on the way out the door, despite leaving a note for myself. I guess I'll have to give it to him at the Felico's dinner like he wanted. UGH! At least he can give me a ride to that one! We talked about his first hockey practice today, his first game on Wednesday, there being a good reason why Steph / Lisa / Fraser / Henry weren't here this weekend, Highway 99, Steveston, and more.

We had seafood soup, sweet and sour pork, chicken, fish, yee mein, red bean soup, jellyfish, Chinese cold cuts, seafood soup, tea, and more for dinner - I got to take leftovers home, too! Dad thought he had to remind me to say hi to Mom, Uncle Richard, Auntie Gloria, Pastor Fulton, Auntie Teresa, Auntie May, Uncle Anthony, Uncle Andre and his wife Anna, Uncle Joe, Auntie Wing Yee, Auntie Vivian (who said that she missed me and wondered where I'd been "hiding"), Uncle Eric, Auntie Brenda, and their other friends. No, I just wanted to get settled first! I did say hi to Holly, Peter, Evander, and Everett when they got there, of course.

When Auntie Catherine got there, we caught up a little later - she remembered my birthday in September as "a special time," and wanted us to get together. She said that Frances is getting baptized next week - ha ha ha, good luck with that! (from what Ellen tells me...) I'm probably not going to go for THAT service, but did personally tell Jon that I would be willing to go to Beckett's baby baptism service if VCEFC ever got around to organizing one. Auntie Catherine also would be willing to meet me in RICHMOND (!) on Saturday the 15th, and maybe invite a friend my age. Okay, then! As long as it's not about religion AGAIN...

I taught Ayler about Talk Like A Pirate Day since he was wearing a pirate T-shirt. He asked what people did for that, and how he could celebrate; he eventually figured that he could wear his shirt and say "Arr, matey!" like I suggested. Good ideas! He did ask about my skin scars, but I told him that it was my choice to make boundaries about my body, just like him. Later, he refused to ask my reasonable question about how Grade 1 was so far; then he didn't want me to see the time on Eric's watch, so he covered it up. Okay, then. I did say hi to Hiero, but Harmony was wearing Beckett all evening, probably to prevent people from taking photos.

Nathan, Jeremy, Randal, Caleb, Rebecca, Jon, Harmony, Eric, and I talked about Batman / Quentin Tarantino / Twitch streams / my new glasses and upcoming eye surgery / my Felico's celebration (Jeremy and Nathan say they'll confirm later) / Danielle travelling these days / FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL / learning to ride bikes from Ron and Veronica / CRAZY RICH ASIANS / JOY LUCK CLUB / Kendrick Lamar / some guy named Danny Miller / addiction issues / rappers / the weird Asian shows on the TV, which Harmony did NOT feel the need to ask the staff to turn off / counting the courses. We saw Alan and Tracy with their kid Noah, so waved at them on their way out of the restaurant. I wished Myles a happy early birthday while saying hi to him, Brittney, and Naomi. Then Eric had to wait a few more minutes while I said bye to everyone that I knew... oh well.

Eric dropped me off at 8:40, which is still pretty good. Time to relax now! Oh wait, Mom wants Jon to choose the location of my birthday dinner AGAIN - yeah, I'm not putting up with that this year. Let ME pick the damn restaurant, although at least the Oakridge area on a Monday afternoon is better than Commercial Drive with Sunday bus schedules! Not saying I'll never go to Commercial Drive, but NOT at the behest of another person ON MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY! No, I'm not feeling guilty about that. She tried calling me twice, but I was NOT in the mood for yet more social interaction. That's the true introvert nature!

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: $20 cash (making up for yesterday's pizza plus a little more), an old one-litre Proctor-Silex water boiler (half the size of my current one), a pair of white socks, a pair of pink-and-white candy toe socks, and 200 sheets of Hilroy lined paper.

Chinese jellyfish with chili!

glowing_dragon: (Happy Birthday!)
Today is Humility Day! I emailed Kevin to wish him a happy birthday, and he replied to thank me. Good thing that Hotmail didn't screen my email this time, and of course I'll remind him about my Felico's birthday dinner closer to the date! Then I got another email saying that Christon is now engaged to Alice - okay then, people!

From Julie: Melvin is fine, but Laquita?! Makes me think of a mosquito or the Chiquita banana!

From Julie: Tyler and Tyla should NOT be twin names, ever!

From Julie: Sheba?! Like, the queen of Sheba?!

I got an unexpected email and phone call from Mom about a phone at Wireless and Richmond Centre, so called them at 1:25 to discover that they had just gone from Richmond Centre. At least I got a relatively drama-free lunch at the nearby Mui's (satay beef and vermicelli noodles with hot milk tea!) and an extra $5 in cash out of it. Talked about a professional cleaning service, Eric M. going to baby Beckett's banquet so I might have a ride, weird advice about giving Barry an extra $5 or $10 cash every time he had to drive me downtown because it's the Chinese way of doing things (NO!), and Mom going deaf because of dishwashing machines at the hospital. Sure, whatever. At least I was back home at 2:05, and showered later!

Vanessa found this road sign with her name on it when she was in Ontario years ago! Norfolk County!

I managed to take out the old "computer" chair (lots of exposed foam inside) and throw it in the dumpster. Not sorry, Hester! I have a kitchen chair as backup! It's my minor act of rebellion, muhahahaha!

After COFFEE TIME, I left at 2 to catch the C94 for my appointment with Rachel at The Caring Place. Afterwards, I took the 410 to Big Crazy so I could spend $35 on Knorr (extra) hot and sour soup x5 which expires in late January 2019, a slightly smaller 30-centimeter silver metal colander to replace the too-big metallic one from March 2018, a matching metallic silver mixing bowl to replace the pink plastic bowl with pink colander from Mom in April 2014, a premium Shin Ramyun Black spicy Pot-Au-Feu noodle pack, and Sapporo Ichiban chicken noodles. Nothing that would melt in the hot weather - I also just managed to get the 410 after leaving the store - NICE! Then when I got home at 4:15 on a 401 (just managing to get the bus), I washed the bowls and put rubbing alcohol in them to take the stickers off after throwing away the old bowl and colander in the dumpster.

From Julie: Tybreia?!

From Julie: Tybreia's sister is named Arissa?! Is that like Marissa, but with a missing letter? BAD SPELLING!

After MORE COFFEE TIME, I left just before 4:30 to make it to Wo's: A family dinner for Dad's 69th birthday! Of course I was the first one there! (and I saw Mr. Creep on the bus AGAIN...) Harmony set a new record in convincing the Wo's owner to turn off the TV, which was tuned to the Cartoon Network: SEVEN MINUTES! We talked about strata meetings, moving on Thursday, Burnaby, the lards' car leaking oil, Uncle William, plans for this week, the farmer's market, snacks, dessert, finding my Fit-Overs (which I just found within two minutes of looking for them), Beckett sleeping, Ayler and Hiero asking about candy and the time, me being drunk / red-faced / snorty / giggly on the beer which Jon bought, and Quality Street chocolates. I got home at 8 on a 407, no thanks to just missing the previous 407 at Brighouse! Mom thought I needed to be told to look both ways before crossing the street at Marine Drive Station - I wasn't THAT drunk! Jon wants me to come over on Tuesday for dinner help - after Rachel, for sure.

Dinner: Steamed chicken, sweet and sour pork, green beans and ground beef, cod fish, tofu cakes, corn soup, lamb, Bring-Your-Own-Beer (Andina Guava Saison 6.5%), rice, and tea!

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: Instant oxtail soup mix x3 (expiry date: July 18, 2019) / a triple-zippered leopard print Sport Sport wallet / chicken noodle Lipton Cup-A-Soup which expired on June 13, 2014 / spring vegetable Lipton Cup-A-Soup which expired on May 30, 2013 / spring vegetable Lipton Cup-A-Soup which expired on February 9, 2012 / a nearly full bag of McCormicks cinnamon hearts / a bag of Nosh and Co. Munch Madness lightly salted potato chips which expires on March 10, 2019 / AN HONEST DAY'S WORK white mug / two brown flowery very thin neck wraps / a pair of black knee socks / Organics honey and ginger green tea x7 / Twinings Earl Grey bergamot tea / Bigelow Cozy Chamomile herbal tea / Lipton Spiced Chai black tea / dinner leftovers / $5 cash.
