There was a 15-second fire alarm inspection today at 1:25. I told Hester's husband Ni that he needs to give people time to get to the fucking door since knocking constantly isn't going to HELP - it'll just make people feel RUSHED! I'm also DISABLED, so giving me a bit of extra time isn't going to KILL YOU!

A handyman came by unexpectedly at 12:30 with caulk to spackle my bathroom walls, which I'd mentioned to Hester last week. He also had noticed my shower tile apparently "needed" to be repaired too, which was fine by me, and he left by 1.

The bad bathroom wall is here:

After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I went out at 3:05 on a 407 bus to help with the kids at 4. I checked to see if Shoppers had any cheaper lip balm - I was unwilling to pay $9.99 for a little tube of Burt's Bees once I finally found it at the back of the store (even London Drugs has it for cheaper!), so I went straight to Mount Pleasant instead. Turns out Jon wanted to meet at Bellagio Gelato - worked for me, even if I had to wait for a bit. Hell, I could just hop on their wi-fi from just outside the doors. They showed up at about 4:45, and Ayler asked how long I'd been waiting, and about my route. I joked and said five hours, then revised it to 15 minutes. Beckett didn't seem to like his sunhat, but the kids got white bubblegum gelato (with no bubble gum pieces!) while I got some raspberry sorbetto. Of course I did the polite thing and thanked the ug! We tried offering some to Beckett, but he turned his head away like his brothers had when they were one year old. Maybe when he's four years old, he'll like it!

Ayler, Hiero, and I talked about the puzzle with the most pieces: 551,232 pieces?! I totally blew their minds with that factoid! They were impressed by the photo which I was able to find online, too. We walked or ran back home - with lectures about stranger danger and people possibly grabbing them - and I was able to hang out with the kids and Harmony. Catching Beckett whenever he crawled to the back window because he threw his red ball around, preventing him from fitting under the couch, his chewing toys and seeming interested in the Christmas baby books at times, almost tripping over crap in the way (hopefully not hurting Beckett), flossing, and ODE TO JOY piano music.

More origami, SIMON SAYS, some calorific pasta for Beckett (who just threw everything on the floor anyway), what had lots of calories, school and therapy, calling Dad for his birthday, reading books about bikes and trains, the double-layer puzzle, salad, Chinese noodles with peanut sauce, allergies, blueberries, calories, corn on the cob, and hugging Beckett to me when his brothers were being too rambunctious with pinches and he wanted support and security since we were all in a tiny circle... that was heartwarming and he wasn't scared of me! Ayler wanted me to come next week - sure, but do I have to smell their poo air?! They laughed at that, of course. I was able to leave at about 8 (Harmony thinks I did a good job with all the kids?!), grabbed the 3 Marine Drive Station bus, and was able to find some more lip balm x4 while I was out... gotta have backups! At least I was able to find the beauty section at T&T - $1.79 for one tube is way better than $9.99 to $11.99, no matter if Burt's Bees is more "quality" than Chapstick! I also grabbed a pack of Paldo Bul Jjamppong noodles on my way out. Got home at 9:30 on a 407, which is good.

Yes, there is a literal Cool Chinese Restaurant near my place. They took over the old space when the old Mad Greek owners retired!

After COFFEE TIME, I had to go out at 4:10 on a 407 for a Kwong Chow dinner. Since I was out anyway, I bought three pairs of London Naturals foam scour sponges, a Snapple half and half iced tea / lemonade for aspirin purposes, and a bag of 20 KitKat chocolate mini-bars for National Chocolate Day for Ayler and Hiero at London Drugs. We had fish congee, spicy tofu triangles, a different kind of Chinese fish, pork intestines with pickled vegetables, green beans with spicy beef, half a chicken, and tomato fried rice with red sauce / white sauce / shrimp / pork for dinner. Ayler tried his first pork intestine since he was curious about them, and chewed through half of it before deciding he didn't like them that much. Hiero didn't want to try one at all.

Beckett was in a high chair and screaming happily. He was being shielded from the "evil" TV, and the family made care plans for this week. The boys seemed to like their Seattle trip, even if one of them dumped a plastic dinosaur down the toilet this morning at the AirBnB! They told us about the monorail, the water table at the Children's Museum, the chocolate shop, the $25 per person baseball game with hot dogs, Pike Place Market being really crowded, and more. Seemed like a fun trip for sure! The kids wanted to race on our way to their house, but that wasn't a good idea right after dinner! I apparently have to wait for the lards' call on Wednesday morning - no melatonin the night before, PLUS coffee and the phone on then, before going to Aberdeen and Parker Place!

I finally got home at 8:05 on a 401, and no, I did NOT want to be dropped off at 49th instead of 41st simply because it was easier for Mom. Even Dad was annoyed! Mom also wants to NOT pay for three pairs of reading glasses instead of "just two since it would be too expensive" - if she balks at that, I'm sure she's not going to like the cost of any proposed Invisalign! Sorry, Sean...

Random stuff from Mom and Dad, inside a Safeway bag: a tiny bottle of Mayanik Habanero Pepper Sauces Habanero Chile Verde sauce, Red Rose Tea in Orange Pekoe flavor x5 teabags, plus three random pairs of thin socks. Green-blue, blue and white, plus white and blue!

When I got to Deb and Dylan's last night, I got settled in as Declan told me a lot of stuff about MOTHER GOOSE PRESCHOOL MINECRAFT / Eep the Mouse / spawns and mobs and Creepers. Elysse was watching FROZEN downstairs, so she told me about Anna and Elsa and Olaf. Typical kid talk, but I don't mind knowing about their stuff and interests! They were able to stay up till 10 PM just entertaining themselves for the most part, so that was good for them. Elysse described Hiero as her best friend, which is cute. Declan also knows Ayler, of course. At least the kids seemed to like me, so YAY!

Today started out with HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, iPads, a poppyseed bagel for breakfast, then after a while, Dylan kindly agreed to take me by my place while he and Elysse were out anyway so I could get some more pants. We also went to a random house to get an AirSoft table for Hiero's birthday party next week. Elysse was pretty patient, all things considered. I opted for the Walmart elevators every time, even if I had to meet Dylan and Elysse upstairs since the kid wanted the escalators. She and I looked at a lot of toys, even if she wanted to pull me to the escalators after she was done people-watching. Too bad that I'm still stronger than a little girl on the eve of her fifth birthday! I didn't pull her arm, though. We discussed how it was fine and okay to make mistakes, a bunch of toys, HATCHIMAL toys, and dolls.

We got home in time for more MINECRAFT, but it was naptime for me! I got up in time for Dylan's parents to show up and then leave a little later for the family dinner they had tonight. Deb kindly made me soup with veggies and noodles, plus some other noodle leftovers and gyoza... Dylan cut up some meat for me as well before they left. I had peace and quiet to do some naughty things before they got back at 9:30. (I also watched some YOU and EAT A CUP OF TEA on Netflix) Dylan's parents are staying overnight from Langley, which is good. Lots of styrofoam from Elysse's new ballerina doll, that's for sure!

I thought my BENQ computer monitor had blinked out this morning, but it just gave me a NO SIGNAL DETECTED error message, which of course I couldn't look up, so I called Eric! I tried stuff with the cables, read a lot about true crime (Max Haines!) and urban legends (Thomas Craughwell), got rid of the Hans Holzer book about ghosts since I wasn't interested in it anymore (and the print there is starting to be really small), and did some more stuff. At 4:50, I decided to try pressing the Power button AGAIN, and somehow the monitor roared back to working mode! PHEW! Of course I called white Eric to let him know about this, then called Chinese Eric to remind him about Felico's.

I was NOT impressed with the JOY dumplings freezing into huge unmanageable blocky clumps, so I had to throw those clumps out. Unfortunately, Hester was there and told me that it wasn't allowed to throw it out in the dumpster. Whatever, I can do what I want. "You Should Drive a Black Sports Car"

You are a strong and determined person. You are interested in power, and you're not afraid to grab some for yourself.
You may be driven, but you aren't cold about it. You are deeply emotional and in tune with the people around you.

You are both loyal and stubborn. If you're true to someone, you'll be true to the end... no matter what.
You are protective, both of yourself and the people you love. You love danger, but only when you've mitigated the risks.

"You Are Harry"

You can be a dark and pessimistic person a lot of the time, but you aren't as nihilistic as you seem.
Deep down, you are a hopeful romantic. It is easy for you to get your heart broken, and you are quite guarded as a result.

You are a genuine person to your core, and you insist that others accept you as you are. You are never one to fake it.
You have a great sense of humor and don't care about looking silly. You are always the first person to laugh at life.

I had a dream where Jimmy was driving me and Tommy in a van somewhere, and Jimmy kept saying that he would choose Tommy over me, even as he dropped him off at a house somewhere before going into Richmond (where we both lived for whatever reason) and hanging out with me at a crowded conference. Okay then, subconscious! I'm probably going to make a new Facebook music group called COME AS YOU ARE, too. Tommy would automatically be blacklisted because of my rule of not typing like a moron. Punctuation is important! Jimmy says he wouldn't choose him over me, so we'll see.

"Your Intellect Eclipses Your Isolation"

You are constantly seeking to know more about the world. Understanding is always your key to happiness.
You may not be a naturally social person, but you connect with others freely when shared interest, knowledge, and passions are involved.

You are curious about the world and new ideas. You are open to changing your mind, and are constantly collecting information.
You are not quick to judge someone, even if you think you disagree. You seek to learn more instead.

Not sure about the last two sentences, especially right now at my stage of life! I can be quite comfortable judging people, especially if they act defensive / manipulative / supercilious / toxic! Trust me, I had to deal with at least one of those people last week! No, thanks! I have no time for that!

This is for [livejournal.com profile] rogermellie, who wanted to know what my loves and passions in life were.

This is also for [livejournal.com profile] p1r4t3_k1ng, who wanted to know what was cool about me. (or not, depending on my outlook) They also have a last name in common: ANDERSON. :D

Here's a short list:

I'm a bit interested in twins (and other multiples; triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets, sextuplets, etc.), babies and kids (I like them to a certain extent, but am a long way from having them right at the moment), reading, humor, true crime, comics.. the list could go on and on.

What I do for fun: reading, going to bookstores and the library, hanging out with friends, eating out with them, keeping in touch with people, listening to music, going to my friends' houses, looking after little kids, sometimes going places by myself, parties at friends' houses, etc.

Foods I like: some Chinese food (hot and sour soup, noodles, curry, wonton soup, etc.), pizza, pasta, chicken, sushi, turkey, Pho noodles, steak, etc.

Music I like: classic rock, some current rock, some pop (no BSB-type stuff for me)... that's about it, though I can stand most other types... even my brother's weird mix tapes of Monster Magnet, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, and Mercury Rev. Some other groups I like include (but are not limited to): Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Everclear, Matthew Good Band, Our Lady Peace, Led Zeppelin, New Order, the Doors, Big Sugar, Creed, Nickelback, Collective Soul, the Police, etc.

Stuff I like to read: humorous stuff, some (auto-)biographies, Guinness World Records stuff (that Primetime TV show is cool), the Outlander series, Bathroom Readers, true crime, trivia, some fiction (and some non-fiction as well), comic strips, stuff about music... guess it all depends on what I feel like reading!

Any more questions? You can ask me in here if you want.. or email me. (that is, if you even know my current email address.. MWAHAHAHAHA)

Oh, and YES.. if you've heard all those rumors, they're true. I am indeed the birthday queen, and I have amazing birthday prowess. (according to my friends Jason and Keith)

I'm an introvert, so I need my time alone to recharge. I also have a mild form of cerebral palsy, which causes me to limp. I am also on disability because of mild depression.

I like reading, listening to music, watching Youtube videos, and video games. I like humorous stuff, Diana Gabaldon books, Bathroom Readers, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, and am getting into random fantasy novels. (I enjoyed Jack Whyte's UTHER) I also like true crime, trivia, some fiction (and some non-fiction as well), comic strips, stuff about music... guess it all depends on what I feel like reading!

Music: I enjoy video game soundtracks, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, Ministry, GWAR, Our Lady Peace, Matthew Good, classic rock, some current rock, some pop (no BSB-type stuff for me)... no rap or country, though. I also like Monster Magnet, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, and Mercury Rev. Some other groups I like include (but are not limited to): Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Everclear, Led Zeppelin, New Order, the Doors, Big Sugar, Collective Soul, the Police, etc.

TV shows: I admit to only being a random TV watcher, as the Internet is a vast time-suck. I did enjoy random episodes of SOUTH PARK and KING OF THE HILL. It doesn't matter to me whether you watch TV when I'm around. However, I do like Canucks hockey, and can usually be found listening to the radio or watching TV when a game is on!

Video games: I have played a few of the classic ones only. For some reason, I can't get into contemporary video games. I've played DRAGON WARRIOR 1-4, DRAGON QUEST 5 and 6, EARTHBOUND, the MOTHER series, LUFIA AND THE FORTRESS OF DOOM, and FINAL FANTASY 1 / 2 / 4-6.

Foods I like: some Chinese food (hot and sour soup, noodles, curry, wonton soup, etc.), pizza, pasta, chicken, sushi, turkey, Pho noodles, steak, etc.

I'm looking for a chill, empathetic, understanding, and calm person who is low-maintenance, yet is willing to work on a relationship seriously. I enjoy just hanging around the house once we get to know each other well enough. You should also use correct spelling and grammar in your messages. I prefer text over phone calls, at least initially. If you get to know me, I am a quirky person with her own eccentricities!
