Robert Berridge added me to Facebook, but that is fine. Hopefully, he is a sane Canucks fan unlike John D., Brandi, and Siobhan! Chrissy also said she was banned by Facebook - YIKES! At least she is back now! Aaron L. and Chris W. also unfriended me from Facebook after more than TEN YEARS - okay, then! Now I can also unfriend Fosa, Chris's wife.

My ex-friend Chris Woodrich:

It's World Book Day today!

From my ARE YOU SHITTING ME book: Boston Bramlage?! The rest of the family had more normal names: Ronald, Rebecca, Brandon, Beau, and Roxanne...

From Reddit and r/namenerds: A London lawyer is named Friday February Eleven Biddle?!

glowing_dragon: (Vancouver Canucks hockey!)
I discovered that Jason Lam and Sarah Quelch had unfriended me - oh well, the Awana and Palmer days were long ago! The Canucks played the Kings at 7:30 tonight... the game went to overtime (thanks to Gaudette!) plus a shootout. BOESER GOT THE GOAL TO WIN 4-3! I also showered today.

From Kenny and Busted Locals: A young woman was pulled over for speeding. A Louisiana State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book. She said, "I bet you are going to try to sell me a ticket to the Louisiana Trooper's Ball." He replied, "Louisiana State Troopers don't have balls." There was a moment of silence. He then closed his book, tipped his hat, got back in his patrol car, and left.

From Youtube: Ashley Heavy Runner Loring?!

The Canucks played the Avs at 7 tonight, and won 5-1. I also showered today.

From FOR MY MAN: Chicwanda Forbes?!

After COFFEE TIME, Barry called me at 11:50 to see if I could change our food shopping appointment next week from Wednesday to Thursday, which I had no problem with. I left at 12:25 to get to the Burrard eye clinic for my appointment with Dr. Wise for a one-week followup, even if the construction zone around here is annoying. Still got off at Yaletown-Roundhouse and was in time to catch the 6 Davie in the land of the pink bus stops, which is what I know now. I got there at 1:05, but that was fine. The doctor says my eyes still look healthy and are improving, that I can't dislodge the cataract lens even if I tried, and that I could throw out the antibiotic with zero refills, which was fine by me. She says there is no need to rush to get newer glasses because my prescription is not fully formed yet - apparently, a bunch of people DO waste their money and do just that. My next appointment is the six-week followup on Feb. 27 (a Wednesday) at 2:15, which works for me.

Later, I took the opportunity to play with the Shaw wi-fi while I was still at the clinic office, then decided to do my shopping in Vancouver. I should have done it in Richmond or on Broadway to save some time, since some asshole decided to hit me up for some Canadian coins outside Vancouver City Centre under the guise of "a dumb American question" while I was looking at a map. I went to the London Drugs right there to get Scotch Expressions orange masking tape x2 and red $2 MARTEX washcloths x2. They didn't have any duct tape, so I asked an employee where the nearest Staples was - near Burrard Station, which wasn't too far away.

Thanks to the aforementioned asshole, I got three blocks to Burrard Station which was very near the Staples at 1055 West Georgia. I eventually managed to find the entrance, and had to walk a bit to get into the actual store. I bought Z-Grip Pens x60 (June 24, 2018) and black duct tape, temporarily walked in the wrong direction, and eventually got home at 4 on a 407. No more two-hour service gap at Brighouse!

Deb emailed me again at 6:15 to ask how the appointment had gone, and to wonder if I'd seen Declan's orange Beyblade Pokemon stadium and toys. Nope, but it could be anywhere in that alcove or townhouse by now! Someone named Emily Harris added me to Facebook - possibly Kurt's girlfriend, but she never responded to my message asking who she was. What the heck?! Then I noticed that Emilie Mak unfriended me, but that's fine - I only knew her as an Awana kid from 2007!

From Sara, Reddit, and r/funny: The Grammar Police are here to serve and correct... just look at their uniforms!

From Julie M. and DR. PHIL: Zona?! Reminds me of Zoma in DRAGON WARRIOR 3! She also claims that she's been pregnant for three years and seven months...

2018 Year In Review!

THIS ENTRY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE NON-ALIGNED TAGS.

[Meme fun: Take the first line from the first post of every month of the year. Repost it here as your year in review. (I'm discounting greetings and things like that :P) Yeah, it's been an interesting year!]

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of the year. Post the first line of it in your journal as a paragraph, and that's your "Year In Review."

I got a baby girl card for Jason and Vanessa ("KEEP CALM AND CARRY BABY WIPES"), NEW Shasha organic ginger snaps for Vanessa (no sugar?!), 200g of on-sale Ferrero Rocher, 100 store brand bandages, a NEW Carnation variety pack of hot chocolate (TURTLES Canada / Coffee Crisp / After Eight), and NEW Lipton Chicken Noodle Supreme soup from London Drugs, which has just started charging for plastic bags. SO MUCH ON-SALE BLACK PEPPER SALMON JERKY FOR ME AND JIMMY AND JULIE, OH MY! I called Barry at 8:35 AM to tell him about the mouse on the glue trap which I discovered last night. The computer restarted at 6 AM! I called Barry at 9:40 this morning to remind him about going to Rona for a Victor Pest Chaser Ultrasonic Rodent Repeller, which cost $33. I went to the pharmacy next door at 1:50 to refill my prescription early; yes, even Adam commented on it!

I left at 5:55 to get two 3-subject Hilroy notebooks in green and light blue (for home use and road use) from London Drugs, returning home at 6:40 on a late 407. CHOCOLATE AND BATHROOM REPLACEMENTS GALORE AGAIN, and today's date is a palindrome: 8/1/18! Yesterday, Frances C. emailed me to say that she couldn't make it to Felico's because of work, which is fine. I went out at 12 on a 401 so I could buy Campbell's Chunky Soup (Jerk Chicken with Vegetables / Butter Chicken with Vegetables), NESCAFÉ instant coffee (December 16, 2017), a NEW on-sale limited edition Oh Henry! Canada / Oh Henry 4:25 Pop-Up candy bar, barkTHINS snacking dark chocolate with pumpkin seeds for Thanksgiving dinner, NEW limited edition Doritos Late Night Fully-Loaded Nacho chips, and HALLS assorted mint cough drops. I went out at 12:20 on a 414 to do some shopping for on-sale Halloween candy and Advent calendars. COFFEE TIME while I'm still figuring out why Jimmy blocked me instead of just talking to me about what I did...... I should have posed it as a hypothetical a while ago!
glowing_dragon: (Devilish Smile)
After COFFEE TIME, Mom and Dad picked me up at 12 so we could go to lunch at #9, go to JYSK in Lansdowne, and then go see Uncle Stanley's female associate Sandy on Kingsway and Slocan about my Disability Savings Plan. I heard way more about growth and investments and stock portfolios than I ever thought possible. After they dropped me off at Oakridge Station, I went to the bathroom (where someone said "hey!" when I used the accessible washroom - TOO BAD BECAUSE I NEEDED TO PEE AND CAN USE THAT ONE!) and then bought on-sale Polar Ice Excel gum x3 from Safeway since I forgot about it yesterday. I got home at 4 on a 401, where I saw John Jugovic, who hasn't seemed to change his opinions since 2002 or so. Ah well...

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: a six-pack of 710mL Coca-Cola which expired on July 1, 2017 (no, thanks!) / a 297g package of Fun Size 3 Musketeers which expires in June 2019 / "large" black, blue, and white pants (maybe if you're a literal child...) / a #9 Restaurant lunch of organ noodles and congee (plus some beef chow mein leftovers) / a thin green T and T Supermarket 大統華超級市場 reusable bag / a skeleton and candy corn Ugly Halloween Sweater ("Get Freaky!") and Nordik boots from JYSK Bed Bath Home in Lansdowne Centre, a random wooden pencil, and a random IKEA Richmond map with random notes on the back.

Hey, the MOTHER 3 Mischievous Mole enemy can feel homesick in battle - JUST LIKE NESS IN EARTHBOUND!

A silver and blue 3 Musketeers Fun Size package! 297.1 grams or 10.48 ounces!

Faux suede Nordik boots!

glowing_dragon: (Devilish Smile)
This morning, I managed to fix an Internet connection problem all by myself again! (the problem was a rogue ethernet cable getting loose and unplugging itself from the modem) Super glad that I didn't have to call Eric in for this!

I decided to go to Boston Pizza today at 4:30 on a 401 (just in time!) to redeem the My BP offer of free Cactus Cuts OR Pizza Bread OR Yam Fries. (Starters for Starters!) When I saw the photos online, I definitely had to order something else to go with my lunch! After that, I went to London Drugs to get a new Corelle medium soup bowl and replacement on-sale All-Bran Buds which expire on July 10, 2019 and taste like I'd expect (my old All-Bran cereal tasted soft and stale despite not expiring until March 22, 2019?!) before going home at 6:10 on a 407. Later. I showered.

Viva Italia pizza from Boston Pizza: Arrabbiata pizza sauce, pizza mozzarella, Genoa salami, chopped bacon, spicy Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, banana peppers, goat cheese, freshly grated Parmesan and a pesto drizzle! Not as spicy as I'd like, despite the banana peppers!

Yam fries from Boston Pizza!

Cactus Cut Potatoes from Boston Pizza!

Pizza Bread from Boston Pizza!

Bandera Pizza Bread from Boston Pizza!

From Julie: Brantley?!

Today is Left-Handers Day! Andrew M. came by after work (not tied up in Coquitlam) to pick up his final $50 payment of $300 for the computer payment schedule started in May, and the computer work done in late June. What a time these past three months have been, especially with Jimmy and everything! Andrew also had that computer chair which he mentioned on July 11, so that's good. He came by at 10:25 to pick up the $50 and drop off the muted pink computer chair with wheels and tilting action - yup, the grease spot was prominent, but it wasn't terrible. All I gotta do is clean it: rub Palmolive on the washcloth and make sure just to blot it and not spread it all over.

Edit at 11:30 -- I rubbed it out before bed (hehehe), and it seemed to clean out okay with the Palmolive Original.

From Julie: Chassity?! What was wrong with CHASTITY!? Reminds me of a car chassis or something. BAD SPELLING!

From SCARY MYSTERIES: Kaine Horman and Kyron Horman?!

From Julie: A girl named Karma?!

From Julie: Keegan?!

From Julie: Konstantine?! Why not just spell it with a C?!

From Julie: Niiko?! Why put an extra I in Niko if it's just going to be pronounced the same anyway?!

glowing_dragon: (Poop)
After leaving the library yesterday (Sunday), I took the 410 to Staples to buy three boxes of Z-Grip pens, which now look different and have "Advanced Ink Technology." I think the comfy rubber grip is worth it for writing for nine hours in a row, and outweighs the risk of cutting myself on the packaging, which I just discovered that I can cut open! DUH. It's also cheaper by $3 a box!

At home, I gave my neighbor a show yesterday when she and I went to the front door at the same time! My pants were falling down, and I couldn't get them up in time! Then I couldn't salvage them later, anyway! I called Andrew back at 5:10 because he'd called me earlier. Andrew said that download speeds and the power supply had been giving him trouble, so he had to go out and buy a new $50 power supply, but that had been included in our deal, as well as the $35 each he'd have charged me for removing two viruses from my hard drive. I almost laughed at that, but he was being totally serious, with good reason! As agreed, I called him back at 8:15 after I'd finished the pizza leftovers, and he said that he didn't think he could finish it tonight if he had to be in bed by midnight for work today. He also doesn't want to bother people past 10 most of the time, but I remember the one time he'd come by at midnight or so. That had been in the summer, however. He'll work on it when he gets home today from work and then call me in the evening. That sounds reasonable to me! I might buy some index cards today since the price per 100 is slightly more reasonable at London Drugs than Staples, and might call Chrystal tomorrow.

Shamoil T. Shipchandler?!

From Julie: Seon?! It's pronounced like "see-on."

From Julie: Karac?!

From Julie: Paradise is Isha's baby boy?!

From Julie: Isha?! Apparently, none of the three men was the father of her baby...

From Julie: Brantley?!

glowing_dragon: (Crazy-Eyed Bear)
I went to the pharmacy next door at 1:50 to refill my prescription early; yes, even Adam commented on it! I'll have to go back next week to get another box that's not dangerously close to expiry at the end of June! Then I got the C94 shuttle bus for my first counselling appointment with Rachel at The Caring Place near Brighouse Park: containers and tools, oh my. I walked to the Dining Terrace food court in Richmond Centre, opting for beef brisket / mixed vegetables / chow mein / Kung Pao chicken from Kung Pao Wok, then got Salsitas chips for the prospective hockey playoffs hangout / dark red handtowels x4 / Speed Stick Ocean Surf deodorant at London Drugs before getting home at 4:20 on a 407. Now, back to mindless tagging work!

Dr. Megha Panda?!

From Julie: Cerinity? BAD SPELLING! It should be Serenity, if anything! Plus DEPAUL?!

From Julie: An adult Depaul, who thinks that a baby having 12 fingers is proof that the child isn't his. That's called an anomaly, and you're uneducated!

From Julie: Lameshia?! I see "Lame" in there! Even if it's not going to be pronounced that way, shouldn't that automatically disqualify the name from your baby name list?!

glowing_dragon: (Vancouver Canucks hockey!)
GREEN TEA TIME! I noted that Chinese Eric had called me last night while I was trying to decide about Jimmy (not worth it - I also talked to Helen Y. about things), so I called him back this morning. Auntie answered the phone and we exchanged Chinese New Year greetings once I told her who I was. Then he called me on his lunch break in the afternoon at 1:10; thank goodness I caught it at 1:45! All the snow from last night has melted (yay!), and he asked whether I'd like him to use a Domino's Pizza coupon - of course! We're Asian, after all!

He ended up not coming over (which I figured by 7:35), so I stashed some stuff away for later since I don't want it in my face: I have SOME dignity, after all! It also surprised me that Teunis added me to Facebook again, since I was totally fine with his not following me online last June, and understood why without his having to explicitly say so. We'll probably just be Facebook acquaintances, which I am totally okay with. The Canucks played the Panthers at 7 tonight, and lost 4-3. YOU CAN'T GIVE UP FOUR GOALS IN THE FIRST PERIOD!

Beaver tails with bananas, chocolate, and candies!

glowing_dragon: (Crazy-Eyed Bear)
I upset Jimmy this morning by asking whether he'd ever make me do something I was uncomfortable with, as per his "sometimes limits were meant to be pushed" statement last night. Apparently, that was meant just for questions. Then I got a bunch of RICK AND MORTY Facebook stickers and general "WTF" messages. I'll have to see what to do about that later. Guess I'm not doing Hug Day with him, which is fine since I'm not a huggy person in general. :P

From Someecards: Creepy Easter Bunny 3!

From Julie: Kadetra?!

From Vanessa: Summer Thyme Creel?!

glowing_dragon: (Vancouver Canucks hockey!)
The Canucks played Buffalo at 7 tonight, and lost 4-0. It was 2-0 until Markstrom poorly handled a goal, then 4-0 on an empty-net goal. DAMMIT!

From Julie: Olivia Wilde! Olivia Civilized!

From OLD FAITHFUL Bathroom Reader #30: Diane Gooch was a politician?!

2017 Year In Review!

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of the year. Post the first line of it in your journal as a paragraph, and that's your "Year In Review."

I was going to go out today, but there's still too much snow around Richmond! I went out at 4:25 to do some shopping at London Drugs: lots of chips! I dreamed that a bunch of us were going around in mine carts to see Vernon and Joe Yu. Steph sent me an email saying that Fraser was playing with his toy phone at 7:30 their time; she asked who he wanted to call, and he said "A-ma"... CUTE! At 12:35, I called Chrystal to see when a good time would be for us to get together this month. I went out at 2:40 to get more on-sale President's Choice Blue Menu Six Bean Medley cans at Shoppers Drug Mart as long as they're still 99 cents!

I went out at 2:30 to catch the next 401 and hopefully check out the Steveston Salmon Festival / Richmond all-day street party at Steveston Village. I went out at 1:10 to London Drugs so I could mail a card and stickers to Fraser EARLY for his second birthday, and bought a small Jersey Milk chocolate bar / Ragusa Noir dark chocolate bars x2 for me and Eric Ho / on-sale Lindt Fudge Swirl chocolate truffles. I went out to Richmond Centre at 11:30 to see if I could get relatively inexpensive new shoes from Payless. I tried opening an Arm and Hammer toothpaste tube today, and it COULD NOT BE OPENED, so I threw it out! I went shopping at 3:55 today after COFFEE TIME: I was planning to get a sandwich, discount Halloween chocolate, and some sensitive toothpaste. I went shopping at 4:15 in the rainy weather on a 401 today at London Drugs for a 4th birthday card for Hiero (cupcakes!), on-sale Arm and Hammer laundry detergent (a 50-load bottle!), 200 index cards, and some big Ziploc bags x2 for a total of 40.
glowing_dragon: (OMFG Yay!)
I showered and did laundry today, despite redrum not being over yet. Gotta be decent for tomorrow... *sigh* I also finally got Lena's cheque for the Lindt gingerbread truffles, which reminds me that I should get Corey's birthday card in the mail. Maybe tomorrow, too! It'll be the shit cake card from London Drugs, haha.

No, you idiot! I said they wanted a SHEET cake! Happy birthday and all that crap.

From Krista: Dragon attacking a castle!

From my UNSINKABLE Bathroom Reader #21: Tyson Gay?! The really weird part is what this Christian website did to his name in June 2008! Tyson Homosexual?! HAHAHA!

From Reddit: Bread dragon from Viet-Tien in St. Cloud, Minnesota!

glowing_dragon: (No Netspeak!)
No, Discord idiot named Pingu, you do not turn the "sink" in your bathroom in order to get water. What you want is called a FAUCET.

No, Not Always Working idiot named David Stone, my last name is and has never been pronounced "En-Gee." Your friend's family probably just dumbed it down for your white ass. Oh, and it's not pronounced "Wen," either. You can't use "but Ng is what Nguyen starts with!" as an excuse. I've had enough of jabronies today already, and it's barely 9 AM...

Summer Hair?!

From Not Always Hopeless and Facebook Atheism: Christianity is the religion of love and forgiveness, and if you don't believe that, you can burn in a pit of fire for all eternity.

From the r/hockey Discord server: SMITE GOD!

glowing_dragon: (French Toast)
Blah, I'm up early again! Time to take some melatonin!

From FORENSIC FILES: Jodi Sass has a great last name!

From the same FORENSIC FILES episode: Princess Gray?!

From a documenary on the serial killer James Hicks: Joseph Zamboni has a cool last name! I wonder if he's related to the inventor of the Zamboni, haha! This book acknowledgements excerpt is from Tragedy in the North Woods: The Murders of James Hicks by Trudy Irene Scee, published in June 2009.

From Reddit: Darren Raddysh is a hockey player for the Rockford Ice Hogs. His last name reminds me of Mr. Raddysh of Palmer!

glowing_dragon: (Crazy-Eyed Bear)
My headache was gone when I got up this morning - yay!

Bartz, Lenna, Galuf, and Faris complete the Wind Shrine in FINAL FANTASY V SPOOF. They go upstairs to find the shattered Wind Crystal and Lenna's father, King Tycoon. Galuf says, "IT'S ZOMBIE KING TYCOON!"

King Tycoon says, "I am afraid the bearded one is right... I have died and become a zombie."

Lenna says, "But zombies can't talk!" Zombie King Tycoon says, "Actually, I'm just moaning right now. I'm amazed you can understand me!"

From Julie: Fawcet Bess is the store owner of Bess Chicken and Pizza in Cleveland?! Is that like a water faucet or Farrah Fawcett? Like I was telling TinyTalkingNinja in June in Classy's Discord server, most last names do not make good first names!

In the same Discord server, Lurus reminded me that Jessa Duggar Seewald named her first kid SPURGEON. While Charles Spurgeon may have been a good man, that doesn't mean his last name should be used for a first name!

glowing_dragon: (OMFG Yay!)
FINAL FANTASY V SPOOF Bestiary!

THIS ENTRY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE NON-ALIGNED TAGS.

This is the complete bestiary for FINAL FANTASY 5 SPOOF, and all screenshots are from my own playthrough. I'd like to say that this GameFAQs bestiary document helped me a lot; thank you! (as did this one, for more precise directions in certain places) Also, this walkthrough helped me a lot, too! Actually, I was tired of suffering through emulator slowness and game glitches x8, so input a code for a 100% complete Bestiary. These maps will help, since the world map DOESN'T FUCKING WORK IN THIS GAME!

This is a good RPG Classics page for Pro Action Replay codes!

CHECK THE MAP WITH THE Y BUTTON, NOT THE R BUTTON!

Fire-Powered Ship puzzle directions.

Notes to self: Activate the All Characters Have All Abilities code, and then TAKE IT OFF, or else the game will get incredibly frustratingly SLOW. Also, take all codes off before going to the Big Bridge, or attempting to find the Phantom Village! VISHNU VEST EQUIPMENT! Speaking of equipment, EQUIP KRILE WHEN SHE JOINS THE PARTY AFTER GALUF'S DEATH! As far as codes go, the "have 99 of all items" code makes the game freeze and have sound issues!

After much frustration over three hours, I managed to defeat Omega by using the power of Mirage Vests (IMAGE STATUS) / Coral Rings (fire protection), and a pre-emptive strike! I used it to power up my blades with Thundaga Spellblade, then used Rapid-Fire on Faris... I think it was a fluke!

Also, to reset the breath timer in the sunken tower of Walse, climb up the fourth floor vine to get to that chest! I finally actually defeated Famed Mimic Gogo at the bottom of the sunken Tower of Walse by using the Dragoon / Dual-Wield x4 strategy! It was pretty tricky since I wasn't sure that all my characters would survive at least five Meteor attacks, but two of them did! Got garbled text as part of the bugged fight, too... "Dragged into another dimension! Odin: All right, that's far enough! Turning to stone... Can't escape! Countdown to Pestilence... 4 KO'd! Countdown to Eruption... 5 KO'd! Level halved! KO'd!":D

To get the Drakenvale Golem in the Bestiary, defeat the dragons first and THEN defend until he thanks you!

Stick "READ AHEAD" on a character other than Lenna! To prevent having to input all the codes over and over again, SAVE / remove all codes / then close and reopen the emulator! They should all still be there!

For the Moogle in the Forest of Moore to move after the trees have been set on fire by Tzepish, save the game in the cave and then reset. The creature should NOT be blocking the entrance.

Airship in World 3: It's just above Surgate Castle, east of the Pyramid.

DO NOT SET ANY "No Random Encounters" CODE! IT WILL GLITCH OUT THE GAME! (submarine / world map won't work, and there WILL be no random encounters)

TRY DEFEATING NEO SHINRYU FIRST BEFORE OMEGA MK. II - or else you can't get out of the room for some reason! (the exit door SHOULD be open, but is shut tight instead!)
