glowing_dragon: (Happy Birthday!)
After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 6:25 to meet Chrystal at London Drugs at 7; it didn't matter if she was late because I'd technically been late as well, getting to the station at 7:05. After telling her that Original Joe's and Chronic Tacos were both closed, I said we might as well walk along Broadway till we saw something that caught my eye. Yes, I definitely knew she was treating me! I knew there was a Cactus Club around there, and I was correct when we got to Broadway and Ash. We talked about sitting on the patio, her Baja fish tacos (I had one) and my tuna poke bowl, water, her nephew Ethan wanting to hit people thanks to preschool, her baby nephew Benjamin, yesterday's eyeball ultrasound and my parents' idea of an Oakridge "ride," our bad sense of direction, Thanksgiving, my parents' upcoming "Tom and Tom" trip to Minnesota, the Canucks, New Zealand, Australia, Mike T.'s birthday the other day (they all went to eat sushi), their going to SURREY instead of RICHMOND on Sunday (thus how they got lost and went on the wrong exit), the computer / router / computer case stuff on Sunday, my having lamb at Felico's, surprise birthday cards, and therapy.

After dinner, I wanted to also check out the nearby Book Warehouse to get the newest Bathroom Reader #31 if possible since the website said it was in stock, and I did! Uncle John's Actual and Factual Bathroom Reader #31 (Uncle John's Bathroom Reader Annual), baby! I told Chrystal about what had happened last year with the "nearest" post office bullshit before we went our separate ways at the Canada Line station, where I just missed a Brighouse train. At Broadway Station, a businesswoman wanted me to hold the elevator doors for her - instead, she managed to squeeze herself in when the doors were closing. The train wasn't even coming into the station, and the other guy on the elevator seemed to have issues of his own, like wearing sandals outside on a cool evening. Some old guy wanted me to move on the Brighouse bench while I was actively reading - NO, because he could have just walked to the end of the short bench! When I finally got home at 9:30 on a 407, I finally checked my mail to find a funny "Happy Birthday, Tree Killer" birthday card from Steph and Lisa, which included Fraser's and Henry's handprints - NICE! Thank goodness that I had peace and quiet to do what I had to do when I got home!

When Andrew M. came over at 11 AM to do the computer case swap, I definitely gave him the parking pass. We talked about the microwaves, wiping the dirty counter (I did 90% of it myself with a sponge), Ziploc bags, bowls, screws, Teresa, wires, cables, personal drama, my router not working for an Internet connection after the computer case swap was done, troubleshooting via phone (which did not work), my coffee, Windows making a device driver update sound every time I moved my mouse (which didn't happen before the swap, either), and my calling Eric later. Chinese Eric called me at 2:35 while I was reading ROCK AND ROLL'S MOST WANTED, and said that he might not make it because of some extra work stuff - ugh! Kevin called me at 3 to personally wish me a happy birthday since he would actually be in Surrey, for which I thanked him. Yep, lamb would definitely be on the menu for tonight! As he said, you can get chicken anywhere!

Eric called me back at 4:30 to get more details, and since he was coming here anyway, I said he could come here at 6:30 or so... he was only seven minutes late, and noted that the router seemed overheated. I left at 6:55 for Felico's after MORE COFFEE TIME, and packed the parking pass so it would be slightly LESS hassle upon coming back here to figure things out. I had his birthday Lindt Excellence dark chocolate bars (Madagascar / Pink Peppercorn) and birthday card, for sure this time! Talked to white Eric, Chinese Eric, and Jeremy about Chrystal's unknown whereabouts, the NCIX breach, Memory Express, Jeremy's birthday card for me which fit me (nice!), Reddit, Mark's wedding, Rochester in New York, Jeremy's cousin in Edmonton, Victoria, Redmond, the RCMP, Skype, Discord, emojis ("that eggplant was 100!" "let's talk about something else, Mom..."), my parents using WhatsApp and NOT WeChat (probably), and Nathan.

We also discussed Christon being engaged (and Steph's "WHAT?!" reaction), Eric Ho mixing up MSN Messenger and Facebook Messenger, Mom thinking I was a "Hotmail expert" back in Vegas in 2012, my router problems, MAC addresses, Linux, ICQ still being around these days in Russia, my traditional lamb dinner, lamb stew, moussaka, and giving Jeremy a ride to Aberdeen Station. Eric and I got back here at 8:40, and for some reason, the router worked after a bit of fiddling. Okay, then! (afterwards, it blipped out AGAIN for a thankfully brief time)

He also fixed my mouse sound issue and the speaker wire problem - PHEW! Then I called Chrystal AGAIN after he'd left at 9-ish (I'd tried when we got in), finally getting her on the phone. She apologized profusely and said that she was half an hour late and really lost - she still could have come in and said "hey guys!" since we didn't start ordering till 7:30 or so anyway. After all that, she said that she had to make it up to me, so Friday evening at the usual place and time it is, especially if it's easier for her! PHEW! Eric M. thanked me for the birthday card and chocolate, and noted that he was glad Chrystal was okay.

Today is Left-Handers Day! Andrew M. came by after work (not tied up in Coquitlam) to pick up his final $50 payment of $300 for the computer payment schedule started in May, and the computer work done in late June. What a time these past three months have been, especially with Jimmy and everything! Andrew also had that computer chair which he mentioned on July 11, so that's good. He came by at 10:25 to pick up the $50 and drop off the muted pink computer chair with wheels and tilting action - yup, the grease spot was prominent, but it wasn't terrible. All I gotta do is clean it: rub Palmolive on the washcloth and make sure just to blot it and not spread it all over.

Edit at 11:30 -- I rubbed it out before bed (hehehe), and it seemed to clean out okay with the Palmolive Original.

From Julie: Chassity?! What was wrong with CHASTITY!? Reminds me of a car chassis or something. BAD SPELLING!

From Julie: Atlas?!

I did call Chrystal at work yesterday when I got home. We made plans for Friday the 13th, which doesn't bother me. Broadway London Drugs, it is!

Andrew called me at 9, so I was ready for him to bring over my NEWER COMPUTER WITH WINDOWS 7! :D

He came by at 9:45 and spent 20 minutes going over the specifics of the Nvidia computer case / power supply / various components, saying that Teunis is moving to Saskatchewan at the end of the month, telling me about his mom's huge quantities of chili in a Dutch oven, and saying that he was looking forward to a shower after a 14-hour workday. I bet! Thank goodness Chrome synced! Yes, I paid him his $40, and can probably make a $50 payment next time to pay everything off.

From Julie M. and JUDGE JUDY: Deneika Reynolds?! I can see Danica or Danika, but WHAT is with that bad spelling?!

Via Facebook messages, Andrew M. apologized for not calling me last night, and we worked out payment for the Windows 7 computer / hard drive / Windows 7 key in writing, which is definitely a good thing. At least I have $200 instead of $150 in that cash envelope, so things can get paid off a little bit faster! Then he called at 7:20 to discuss his not being a robo-call, computer cases on wheels, sound cards, diabetes, coming to Richmond / Memory Express from Coquitlam, having the kids on the weekend and every other one, and cash vs. e-transfers.

I didn't mind if he wanted to drop by, so that's what he did at 8:20. His reaction upon finding out that this computer has 2 GB of RAM via System Tools: "HOLY CRAAAAAAAAAAAP!" We discussed possibly doing that stuff with the computer next weekend, my being welcome to drop by his place while he fiddles with things, a written receipt on the bank envelope, my computer cases, Google Chrome, my Shaw cable modem, my hard drive being compatible with his setup, and more. He laughed when I dropped all the $20 bills out of the cash money envelope, but that was fine!
