After COFFEE TIME, Barry called me at 11:50 to see if I could change our food shopping appointment next week from Wednesday to Thursday, which I had no problem with. I left at 12:25 to get to the Burrard eye clinic for my appointment with Dr. Wise for a one-week followup, even if the construction zone around here is annoying. Still got off at Yaletown-Roundhouse and was in time to catch the 6 Davie in the land of the pink bus stops, which is what I know now. I got there at 1:05, but that was fine. The doctor says my eyes still look healthy and are improving, that I can't dislodge the cataract lens even if I tried, and that I could throw out the antibiotic with zero refills, which was fine by me. She says there is no need to rush to get newer glasses because my prescription is not fully formed yet - apparently, a bunch of people DO waste their money and do just that. My next appointment is the six-week followup on Feb. 27 (a Wednesday) at 2:15, which works for me.

Later, I took the opportunity to play with the Shaw wi-fi while I was still at the clinic office, then decided to do my shopping in Vancouver. I should have done it in Richmond or on Broadway to save some time, since some asshole decided to hit me up for some Canadian coins outside Vancouver City Centre under the guise of "a dumb American question" while I was looking at a map. I went to the London Drugs right there to get Scotch Expressions orange masking tape x2 and red $2 MARTEX washcloths x2. They didn't have any duct tape, so I asked an employee where the nearest Staples was - near Burrard Station, which wasn't too far away.

Thanks to the aforementioned asshole, I got three blocks to Burrard Station which was very near the Staples at 1055 West Georgia. I eventually managed to find the entrance, and had to walk a bit to get into the actual store. I bought Z-Grip Pens x60 (June 24, 2018) and black duct tape, temporarily walked in the wrong direction, and eventually got home at 4 on a 407. No more two-hour service gap at Brighouse!

Deb emailed me again at 6:15 to ask how the appointment had gone, and to wonder if I'd seen Declan's orange Beyblade Pokemon stadium and toys. Nope, but it could be anywhere in that alcove or townhouse by now! Someone named Emily Harris added me to Facebook - possibly Kurt's girlfriend, but she never responded to my message asking who she was. What the heck?! Then I noticed that Emilie Mak unfriended me, but that's fine - I only knew her as an Awana kid from 2007!

I did call Chrystal at work yesterday when I got home. We made plans for Friday the 13th, which doesn't bother me. Broadway London Drugs, it is!

Andrew called me at 9, so I was ready for him to bring over my NEWER COMPUTER WITH WINDOWS 7! :D

He came by at 9:45 and spent 20 minutes going over the specifics of the Nvidia computer case / power supply / various components, saying that Teunis is moving to Saskatchewan at the end of the month, telling me about his mom's huge quantities of chili in a Dutch oven, and saying that he was looking forward to a shower after a 14-hour workday. I bet! Thank goodness Chrome synced! Yes, I paid him his $40, and can probably make a $50 payment next time to pay everything off.

I had to get up at 8 AM and have COFFEE TIME in preparation for my eye exam at 10 AM, but the directions given to me by FYI Doctors were pretty vague. As long as I was up that early, I called Andrew to get a status update, the summary of which was that he could get my machine back to me by either late tonight or early tomorrow, depending on how Microsoft treated him on the phone. At least the machine accepted my Windows 7 key!

Then I found Dr. Kirker's office IN the Vancity bank building: the directions given by FYI Doctors were very vague. After another eye exam, I was referred to Dr. Weiss for cataract surgery - YIKES! Since I needed a treat, I paid $20.65 cash for 1000 Mead index cards and Big Turk mini Turkish Delights in a bag at London Drugs. While I was there, I mailed off birthday cards and more stickers for Fraser to Lisa and Henry. After I get home from Brighouse Library, I will definitely have enough time to call Chrystal to make dinner plans for next week or so. My eyes are finally getting back to normal now, too! I gotta get out of here before school kids start playing ROBLOX like they did yesterday: real-life Luna! NO!

Big Turk Turkish Delights bites!

After leaving the library yesterday (Sunday), I took the 410 to Staples to buy three boxes of Z-Grip pens, which now look different and have "Advanced Ink Technology." I think the comfy rubber grip is worth it for writing for nine hours in a row, and outweighs the risk of cutting myself on the packaging, which I just discovered that I can cut open! DUH. It's also cheaper by $3 a box!

At home, I gave my neighbor a show yesterday when she and I went to the front door at the same time! My pants were falling down, and I couldn't get them up in time! Then I couldn't salvage them later, anyway! I called Andrew back at 5:10 because he'd called me earlier. Andrew said that download speeds and the power supply had been giving him trouble, so he had to go out and buy a new $50 power supply, but that had been included in our deal, as well as the $35 each he'd have charged me for removing two viruses from my hard drive. I almost laughed at that, but he was being totally serious, with good reason! As agreed, I called him back at 8:15 after I'd finished the pizza leftovers, and he said that he didn't think he could finish it tonight if he had to be in bed by midnight for work today. He also doesn't want to bother people past 10 most of the time, but I remember the one time he'd come by at midnight or so. That had been in the summer, however. He'll work on it when he gets home today from work and then call me in the evening. That sounds reasonable to me! I might buy some index cards today since the price per 100 is slightly more reasonable at London Drugs than Staples, and might call Chrystal tomorrow.

Via Facebook messages, Andrew M. apologized for not calling me last night, and we worked out payment for the Windows 7 computer / hard drive / Windows 7 key in writing, which is definitely a good thing. At least I have $200 instead of $150 in that cash envelope, so things can get paid off a little bit faster! Then he called at 7:20 to discuss his not being a robo-call, computer cases on wheels, sound cards, diabetes, coming to Richmond / Memory Express from Coquitlam, having the kids on the weekend and every other one, and cash vs. e-transfers.

I didn't mind if he wanted to drop by, so that's what he did at 8:20. His reaction upon finding out that this computer has 2 GB of RAM via System Tools: "HOLY CRAAAAAAAAAAAP!" We discussed possibly doing that stuff with the computer next weekend, my being welcome to drop by his place while he fiddles with things, a written receipt on the bank envelope, my computer cases, Google Chrome, my Shaw cable modem, my hard drive being compatible with his setup, and more. He laughed when I dropped all the $20 bills out of the cash money envelope, but that was fine!

Andrew M. called me last night about an offer for a newer computer: Memory Express, cheap warranty, discounts, 16 GB of RAM, hard drives, DVD drives, toddlers, and more. I showered and did laundry today.
