I went out with a Miniso face mask at 12:30 on a 407. Went to Lansdowne T and T with my Asian old lady shopping cart to see if I could get a box of 50 face masks for $31. After lining up for 20 minutes because the line snaked around the market area of Lansdowne Mall, I FINALLY got inside with a temperature scanner check (which was fine) and managed to get a box from Customer Service. Since I was there anyway, I checked out the noodle aisle. I got Samyang Buldak Topokki noodles x2 and NEW Samyang Buldak Corn noodles x2 / Samyang Buldak Kimchi chicken terrorist noodles x2. My cart was already plenty full and bulky by the time I left at 1, but I decided to walk to Price Smart anyway, where the lineup moves MUCH FASTER! I got Fanny Bay oysters (May 5), Snack Pack vanilla pudding (May 22), plus NEW Snack Pack DRAGON TREASURE and UNICORN MAGIC puddings. Decided to get a NEW on-sale Aero Gold chocolate bar, a NEW on-sale Kit-Kat Gold chocolate bar, NEW Crave microwaveable meals (Bacon and Egg Scramble with Cheddar Cheese, and Chorizo Egg Scramble with Goat Cheese), and NEW limited-edition Tiramisu Oreos.

After that, I went home at 2:45 on a 407 to rest for a bit before going to London Drugs at 6:30. Planters BBQ peanuts (May 16), Pure Standards Products hydrogen peroxide, Arm and Hammer baking soda, on-sale organic Classico tomato garlic pasta sauce for the same $4 price as regular (sale ends May 27), a small Reese's Pieces (May 18), NEW Orange Vanilla Coke (May 8), NEW LaRose hand sanitizer for the same $4 price as regular, Tao Kae Noi wasabi seaweed snacks, Fudge Swirl Lindt truffles for tomorrow (May 2), and Aroy-D green curry for my Uncle Ben's jasmine rice. Got home at 7:25, which is fine by me.

Reminded Eric about tomorrow's plans... 8:45 AM tomorrow because of PowerPoint?! AIYA! I went out at 12:50 on a 401 with my wheeled shopping cart to London Drugs and bought Heinz pure white vinegar x4 from the beverages aisle, Joyya 2% milk (1L, needs the jar opener), NEW Tiger Tiger Japanese-style Sukiyaki noodle soup for tomorrow's breakfast, Starbucks Cold Brew x2, London Naturals orange cleaner, and on-sale peppermint Twinings Tea before getting home at 1:40 on a 407. The Canucks played San Jose tonight at 7, and won 4-1... I also showered after the game since I might not have time tomorrow. Harmony says Jon is preaching - oh boy!

Aries hides in closets and screams dramatically at night. Taurus doesn't really do much, and is usually found in inanimate objects. Gemini knocks shit over, scrapes nails against walls, smashes glass. Cancer comforts children, protects loved ones, and is a guardian angel.

Leo terrorizes crowds, and has a soft spot for children. Virgo rearranges everything, and often haunts the same place. Libra shows up in mirrors and leaves clues on where to find them. Scorpio seeks revenge, and haunts people who did them wrong.

Sagittarius sets shit on fire. Capricorn summons Lucifer in people's houses. Aquarius possesses people. Pisces is a little girl ghost who plays with other kids, and can be good or bad.

The 401 did not show up at the bus stop when I left at 3:30, so I was stuck waiting 20 minutes for the 407 and two 401 buses which all came at the same time. I still managed to get to the house at 5, despite a text message from Harmony way earlier asking if I could be there at 3:45, which I didn't even get till I left the house. Technically late before I even thought of making my way outside... hahaha! Good thing the 3 Downtown pulled up when I'd made my way to the bus stop, and there were NO further delays on my way over! I had to stop into Kwong Chow to pee, which I wouldn't have had to do if the 401 had showed up when it was supposed to!

When I'd made my way quietly into the living room, Hiero greeted me with "Look at my balls, Auntie!" HAHAHA! Thank goodness he meant his yellow origami balls which he'd made and displayed on the table! He showed me some more cardboard buses and Mark III Skytrains plus a cow "headband" which he'd picked up at the PNE this year. Ayler was hiding Beckett's toy balls among some books, then was concentrating on his connect-the-dots book for a while. We had bean soup, frozen grapes, pork chops, and blueberries for dinner while discussing Christon's wedding. Apparently, someone stole Jon's extra four boxes of leftovers! WHAT?! Some auntie had stolen a Bible from Jon and Harmony's wedding centrepieces - WHAT?! She gave it back once she realized it was real, but STILL!

Later, Beckett played the piano with his feet as I held him in my lap for better mobility... that was funny and cute! Yes, he climbed on me and laughed when I put the soccer ball on my head, less so with the baby pop-up toy. Ayler didn't get to sleep till 10:30 last night, but it had been the first day of school today, so anxiety and questions were normal. Hiero took quite a while to eat dinner, while Beckett seemed happy to flip pages of various books on the mat. Later, Beckett climbed on Ayler's back, and Ayler said that he knew Beckett would pull his hair. Close enough - he instead was gumming his hair and chewing on it! I guess he really is teething from last week into this week.

Since someone had a tantrum, I left at 8 on the dot. Next week should be fine. I actually got on a 3 Marine Drive that was NOT annoying and did NOT stop anywhere random for a while! There was a girl who wanted to let the bus driver know that she'd be getting off with her stroller, but if I could barely hear her above the traffic and bus noise while seated across from her, I'm surprised that the bus driver could! I'm glad that I have NG lungpower and strength! Since the bus didn't stop anywhere, I was able to get a Brighouse train pulling into the Marine Drive station. I still had to wait a while at Brighouse Station, but I got home at 9:30 on a 407 - PHEW! Harmony had mentioned that Mom had emailed us about my birthday dinner. I'll think about that tomorrow, since I'm much more interested in chilling and relaxing at home for the rest of my night, haha!

Hiero thought I should be a cow with this Mobile Dairy Classroom thing that he picked up from the PNE!

DOUBLE COFFEE TIME! Last night, I discovered that the toilet flapper was down and would not flush the toilet properly, so I wrote Hester a note and called her this morning. It took five minutes to explain what a toilet tank was, that filling the toilet tank and filling the toilet itself were DIFFERENT things, and that I did not do anything to the toilet. If she wants to drop by personally, she can go right ahead! However, I need to apply SOME pressure to the toilet handle in order to flush the contents...

After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I left at 1:05 on a 407 for a sober BBQ, bringing along my Ziploc bag of utensils and a couple bags of regular chips. I also stopped by Shoppers at Richmond Centre to buy 100 No Name garbage bags for almost $20 because the Western Family ones under my sink were getting nasty! I shouldn't store anything under there now! YES, I wiped that area!

Good thing I had Luke's number because I thought it was at Sunset PARK (much closer!) instead of Sunset BEACH all the way downtown! ("Why go all the way down there?!" was what I texted Luke at the community centre... he laughed and later said that he liked me and my honesty) I texted Eric Ho and messaged Corey and Mike out of frustration as well, but eventually managed to make it there at about 4 by taking the 49 UBC to Langara Station, then to Yaletown-Roundhouse, then the 23 Beach shuttle bus across the street to Pacific / Jervis (right after Bute), where Luke eventually met me after I accidentally texted him from the bike path. Oops! I stepped off the path after that.

I met a few people like Luke (who's the real MVP), TJ, Anant, Cami, and Faith / Violet. YES, VIOLET AND I ARE THE SAME HEIGHT! We discussed bearded dragons, geckos, hiking, hummus, baby carrots, Beyond Meat sausages, Veggie Crisps chips, BBQ sauce, ketchup, future hangouts, canoeing, renting problems, work, cannabis, my Miss Vickie's "fancy" Signatures Hickory Salted chips AND Ziploc bag full of utensils (Faith thought I'd just meant a fork or something!), Josephine, Tony and Michelle NOT being mods anymore (thank CHRIST!), and other things. We left at 6, and I determined that Term wasn't going home, but to the airport instead to pick up his brother. Going uphill with all my bulky heavy crap was JUST about doable... Finally got home at 7:10 thanks to the 407 cooperating and being later at Brighouse than the posted schedule, and I definitely had to have some whiskey!

Edit: I found out that Paul texted me at 7:45 to thank me for something, so I was wondering what was up with that. Turns out he wanted to thank me for today's beach hangout, which I was not involved in organizing at ALL. Strange... no wonder he needs his own space!

After I had DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, the handyman came by at 11:30 to install the brand-new toilet float valve - YES! I don't care if it takes 90 seconds to fully refill the toilet (tank) now, because at least it works! Better than Hester lecturing me about "flush the toilet tenderly and not with a boom boom boom"... whatever THAT means!

Barry picked me up at 12 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got All-Dressed / Salt and Vinegar / BBQ / Ranch Crispers, on-sale Silk almond milk / chocolate milk, JOY dumplings x5, Dare Foods Limited chocolate cookie chips, on-sale Cottonelle toilet paper x2, Campbell's mushroom soup x5, NEW Miss Vickie's Signatures chips (Hickory Smoked Salt), on-sale Stouffer's microwaveable meals x2 (Chicken Alfredo / Homestyle Pot Roast), and on-sale Western Family frozen vegetables.

Also bought an on-sale Gizella Pastry assorted cheesecake (mango / New York / strawberry / blueberry), Western Family dill pickle chips, Western Family ripple chips, mini Chantilly Choux cream puffs (POPPIES!), NEW Activia strawberry / vanilla / peach yogurts, and NEW on-sale Ben and Jerry's Salted Caramel Almond ice cream. After that, I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online when I got home at 1:15. EARLY! I also managed to go to the dumpster and throw out the light Sunbeam toaster oven which I haven't used for the year I've had it, AND was taking up counter space in the kitchen. Suck on THAT, Hester! :P

Then I went to London Drugs at 7:05 on a 401 to get NEW on-sale Hazelnut M and Ms, on-sale Almond M and Ms, a green tea Kit Kat, NEW Cadbury Curly Wurly chocolate, on-sale Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream, and 400 Mead index cards before returning home on the same 401 at 7:25. The bus driver said that I'd been fast - yes, I like bus efficiency AND ice cream not melting when it's humid outside! When I got in, my phone "ding=donged" at me - turned out to be Corey on LINE. I finally called Chimo's Housing Connect this morning at 9:15. Nancy is on sick leave, but I got an appointment with their housing manager Sue next Tuesday at 11:30 AM. After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME AND SHOWER TIME, I went out at 3:10 on a 401 to help with the kids again. Jon messaged me at 1:45 to wonder if I'd received Harma's text message, but I had not. Yeah, I know she's sick. She wanted me to come earlier, so I just called her instead. Sure, I could come by at 4-ish depending on "delays" and transit time... and it ended up being 4:30 because I just missed another 401 when I was on my way out!

Since Ayler and Hiero wanted to do puzzles in their cramped room, I let them while I hung out and read a book on the couch with Beckett's screams as accompaniment. Eventually, he fell asleep and the boys came out to do Summer Reading. Hiero wanted to sit on my lap while Ayler and I alternated pages. "Can you read upside down, Hiero?" "I can't even read right-side up." Good point! They did tell me about busing to VBS Later, Beckett did come out and wanted to toss everything around as per usual. They gave away the hard blue ball and hard red ball (his favorites!) plus some other stuff because he'd made a dent in the floor, hurt Ayler by indiscriminately tossing things, and had the potential to break a window... YIKES!

Like yesterday, Harmony thanked me for playing so nicely with the baby. We had penne, rutabaga, ratatouille, and honeydew for dinner. Ayler and Hiero did origami tricks with the Summer Reading logs, and Ayler told me about staccato and STORMS OF SATURN, while wanting to know what I felt about his practice runs of OUR DETECTIVE AGENCY. They kept getting better, which was what he wanted! Beckett wanted to play the piano too, so I supported him while he tried playing the high keys, but of course he isn't tall enough yet, so I sat on the piano bench with him in my lap instead.

Later, I made him laugh by playing with the Little Tikes popping toy (yellow and purple) - I pressed on the purple part and it pooped out within a few seconds. He "helped" me by putting his finger on it, haha. As long as it amused him for a bit! He looked up at me and wanted me to repeat that over and over, which is fine. Once Ayler and Hiero finally got to bed at 8:05, I could leave the house - I got home at 9:30 thanks to having to wait a while for the 407. I wish they'd gone to bed ten minutes earlier! Since I figured it wouldn't take forever and I might not miss a train, I held the elevator for a lady with crutches at Marine Drive. Her toes had splayed out - yikes! LUCKILY, I didn't miss the Brighouse train!

Bit fucking extreme: Shoplifters will be prostituted! No exceptions!

I called Hester early this morning at 9:15 to see if she got my note yesterday. "If you broke it, it's your problem!" Yeah, that's very helpful... NOT! She finally said she'd send the handyman this afternoon "but not right now" - that's fine, whatever. He came by at 1:30 in an official Amacon uniform (with his company name WORK WELL stitched on his shirt) and observed that it flushed very slowly. After fiddling around with the float and other things - he said the flap was fine (?!), he flushed it at least ten times and texted Hester to say things worked as intended. He was helpful and said that if I had problems tonight or tomorrow, I could call Hester and request he look at things again. I'm sure she'll be THRILLED if I do... but I am entitled to working plumbing!

I discovered REDRUM this morning, but still took a shower to help me feel better. After COFFEE TIME, I discovered a TOILET PLUMBING PROBLEM: IT WOULDN'T FLUSH PROPERLY! I left a note with Hester to cover my ass AND called her about it, but then I had to leave since I had no time to play phone tag! I went out at 2:55 on a 407 to help with the kids. Even after being at Marine Drive to see a 3 Downtown pull up to the stop, I wasn't even at Jon's any earlier than I was last week! Thanks, strollers and walkers which got on AND off before I left the bus at 16th! /sarcasm Yes, of course they're obviously entitled to use the bus (as are wheelchairs) - I was just glad I left a few minutes earlier than I did last week.

Beckett was sleeping when I got there; Ayler and Hiero were playing that Emoji Memory card game that I bought, so I got an answer to the question I asked Jon about what they do when the baby is supposed to be sleeping. Otherwise, I'd have asked the kids myself. Hiero tried making up his own rules: "No touching cards that other people have touched!" (which is totally nonsense for a MEMORY CARD game) and how you can shoot people who are already dead. I said those weren't fair! (they won the game and I lost - whatever) Ayler was sick because of some heatstroke at the Langley berry farm yesterday. We had a dinner of various things: macaroni and cheese, ribs, pizza, cold noodles, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, and more. Discussed power-washing balconies, Hiero spilling almond milk on the floor and my black Secret socks (I had fun telling them that I can make up my own rules too, like I can pause dinner to put on their dad's holey socks and wash my hands), some salad Mom gave them which expires today (I didn't want it to take home - so Harma tossed it), and how we shouldn't shoot people at the dinner table.

Beckett ate a bit of stuff, but was pretty much done fairly soon into his "meal." I had fun hanging out with him afterwards, though, even if he threw balls all over the place. He has new colorful soft ones, which are probably better for the downstairs neighbors complaining about everything. He seemed to like the new penguin, at least. I let him climb on me because it's cute, but watched to make sure he didn't fall off the couch or anything. The balcony is effectively closed off to him because of a rather interesting arrangement of chairs and other things. PHEW! I think he had fun chewing on his Christmas board books, too.

I left at 8 after doing some STAR WARS STORMTROOPERS summer reading with the kids, after Hiero had to go to a separate room because he was hugging a whimpering Beckett, and after I had grabbed Beckett before he got to the kids' jigsaw puzzle / after he invaded the washroom while Hiero was in the shower. I sent Mike a quick message ("thanks for the great fish head idea, Uncle Mike - says Nephew") using the Save-On wi-fi at the bus stop - thank goodness I didn't just miss the 3 Marine Drive bus! The bus driver didn't create a delay this time, but instead it was an old guy who was slow in even using his wheelchair to get on AND off the bus! Yup, he is totally entitled to use the buses (and it could be me one day), but be reasonably fast about it - come on now, other people have connections to make!

At the station, I quickly went to T&T to look for (and get) some quirky Lays chips for Rachel - Numb and Spicy Hot Pot, Wasabi, and Kimchi! I should get the Deep-Ridged ones next time: Spicy Chicken and Pork! Thank goodness I managed to get the Brighouse train home within two minutes of getting to the train area, and I FINALLY got home at 9! Thanks to the delays, I was able to text both Paulo and both Erics in detail. The toilet STILL wasn't fixed, so I had to consult V4F and then use buckets for filling up the tank. Sigh... I guess I'll have to call Hester tomorrow morning. No melatonin tonight...

THE 2019-2020 NHL SCHEDULE IS OUT TODAY! I came across a problem with my HP Laserjet 1020 printer today while printing out the Canucks schedule and generating more "origami paper" for Hiero. It said there was a paper jam, but it had been printing things out just fine a few seconds beforehand! After Googling it and attempting to fix it myself via a Youtube video, I texted white Eric about the issue after a phone call got no answer. (which is totally fine)

Left my phone on and he called me at 7:05 to figure out the problem more in depth, so I showered immediately afterwards. He came by at 7:40 to figure out the bigass cartridge, and show me what to do. Turns out I have to tilt the mustache on it at a certain downwards angle, which I attempted myself. He left five minutes later - then Jon emailed a bunch of us about Randal's upcoming birthday: Lion's Den at Fraser and Kingsway, then maybe 12 Kings or Bells and Whistles (17th and Kingsway) for drinks afterwards. Randal wants me there? Okay, then... nice!

I went in for surgery on my other eye today when Barry picked me up at 9:20. I'm glad that Brian showed up in time to give me a ride home at 2:30. He was perfectly fine, asking me eight times whether I was okay, how I was feeling, whether I needed a drink or painkillers, etc. Looking at my phone right afterwards was not productive. The sun was bright, but he let me know about the step down to the car. Got home at 3:50 (TEN MINUTES AFTER MOM AND DAD WANTED TO PICK ME UP AFTER AYLER'S SCHOOL PICKUP!) and almost immediately took a nap from the anesthetic. I had some soup as the nurses recommended, then Deb called at 6:10. Sure, I'd be ready pretty soon, and didn't need Dylan to pick me up later. Tomorrow's followup at the eye clinic is at 9 AM - yikes!

The soup prepared me for a dinner of adobo with rice, half a kiwi, GREAT VALUE tandoori chips, and fish congee with shredded pork and peanuts. Declan and Elysse demonstrated the FORTNITE floss dance to me at dinner, hahaha. At 7:15, I decided to check my text messages BEFORE the phone keyboard letters turned to curlicues at the ends, and could barely decipher one which Barry - of all the people - had sent. I got Declan to help read it and reply with "Francis," telling him how to spell the word. No, I was not thinking of giving Barry extra info pre-surgery; he should be happy I was able to call him at ALL! Elysse gave me spontaneous hugs, which is fine. I finally gave the kids those HATCHIMAL and MINECRAFT stickers I'd seen at the Richmond Centre dollar store months ago, and they seemed to like them a lot. We discussed a future hockey hangout, the Vegas Golden Knights, Kevin's Singapore and Vietnam / Saigon trip photos, white Eric's Albania trip photos, panoramic photos, Jon moving AGAIN to Mom and Dad's current apartment (which I didn't know about till he showed up and said something), losing weight, Randal spending time with Ayler and Hiero (but stopping his lessons), life updates, writing, scheduling Wordpress blogging, and Rice Paper online magazine.

Also talked about politics, Anglicans, Kevin attending a Lutheran church now, the Washington Capitals, the Tampa Bay Lightning, Twitch "in real life" streams, PUBG / FORTNITE, the new Wi-Fi device and password, Hiero ripping out a door at Jeremy's TODAY (he doesn't care!), Vivian's gum graft procedure (OUCH!), Christon's mom being even less mobile now, Randal's dad being 82 now, Nathan not wanting to socialize in big groups now (which is so totally understandable), Stockholm Syndrome beer, Pepsi, and BRISK iced tea. The party broke up at about 9:40 or so, and I nudged white Eric to get going if he wanted to pack up his hockey gear for tomorrow when he got home to Richmond. We waited for Sheena since she had no idea how to get out; on her way IN, she had bumped into Vivian, so that was pretty lucky! I got home at 10:25, and had peace and quiet unlike last night. SO GOOD AND REFRESHING!

Jackie M. added me to Facebook via Discord and Youtube, so YAY FOR THAT! I went to London Drugs at 1:30 on a 407 to get a TouchTop garbage can for my living room, on-sale store brand peanut butter, an Easter card and emoji stickers for Fraser and Henry, Alter Eco chocolate bars so I could try them for myself (Salt and Malt / Brown Butter / Burnt Caramel / Blackout), Godiva Dark Chocolate Lava Cake truffles, a Whittaker's Artisan Hawke's Bay Black Doris Plum and Roasted Almonds chocolate bar, a Whittaker's Artisan Fijian Ginger and Kerikeri Mandarin chocolate bar, a Whittaker's Artisan Nelson Pear and Manuka Honey chocolate bar, a Whittaker's Artisan Hawke's Bay Braeburn Apple and Vanilla chocolate bar, a Whittaker's Artisan Marlborough Sea Salt and Caramel Brittle chocolate bar, a Green and Black's Dark Chocolate with Peppermint Oil chocolate bar, a Lindt strawberry chocolate bar / a Lindt blackcurrant chocolate bar for Chrystal's birthday, a Ghirardelli Cabernet Matinee chocolate bar, a Ghirardelli Raspberry Radiance chocolate bar, and a Ghirardelli Cherry Tango chocolate bar. Got home at 2:30 on a 407, which is fine. The Canucks played San Jose at 7 tonight, and lost 5-3, the Sharks getting an empty-net goal.

A sick Jon asked me this morning if I still wanted to make it to his place since his student had cancelled yet another Monday lesson (which I did), and then wanted to know if I could make it on Thursday from 3:30-4:30 since Harmony is working then instead of next Monday because she wants to spend time with Hiero on his actual birthday. Sure, I guess so! BYE WEEK, AHOY! After (MORE) COFFEE TIME, I left at 3:30 to make it to Jon's at 4-ish. The kids were eating and playing with puzzles, but seemed excited about school and new stickers. Ayler had drawn a purple house with lots and lots of floors, Hiero wanted to read a book with lots of flaps with me, Ayler asked a lot of questions about math and why Keith was sick ("he can't be sick in the summer!"), Ayler asked if he could have my fruity beer (NO!), and Ayler practiced his writing and told me that I should know better how to write because I'm an adult. I also passed that message on to Steph, haha.

Ayler asked whether people had gone to heaven if they were born in 1961 or 1948 (or 1914 or 1918) / whether people were still alive if they were born in 462 A.D. or 1018, Hiero loved his bulldozer, and we had gummy cars / curry stew / dumplings / sausage / (coconut) water for dinner. Randal had apparently cancelled too, maybe because of his dad. More playtime for me! Ayler wanted to take my hat off - I said no, which doesn't mean that he gets to say yes! We also talked about seeing his special Gr. 3 buddy Ethan on Thursdays depending on the class schedule, eating old marshmallows from a school craft (NO!), San Francisco in March, falling asleep on the bus, being tired, "Baby Baloo," Hillcrest, the pizza dinner on Sunday, seeing them again on Thursday, and my not staying later than 7 because I had to do some shopping before I got home.

Then I went to London Drugs for a Hilroy notebook since some paper towel got on the whiteout on the cover, a bubble mailer envelope, some hand sanitizer x2 (one of which will have to be returned because I can't figure out how to open it...), desperately-needed Softsoap hand soap refills x2 (juicy cucumber and crisp melon / vanilla brown sugar), and desperately-needed Silk almond milk. No thanks to the cashier commenting on EVERYTHING ("this is so heavy! why did you buy this?!"), I barely made it out the door in plenty of time to catch the 407 and get home at 8:30. Ugh!

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: a brown Tika sweater vest and a Ziploc bag full of Werther's Originals and other hard candies.

COFFEE TIME! The Canucks played the Penguins at 4 today, and won 5-2! After the game and the latest SCARY MYSTERIES Youtube video upload, I went shopping at London Drugs at 7:05. I got assorted stickers for Fraser (PAW PATROL / BATMAN / FINDING DORY), a musical hockey Christmas card with THE HOCKEY SONG, on-sale assorted Christmas cards from American Greetings (worked out to less than $1 per card... one design has a white cat on the front, so that is definitely going to Jimmy as a Quentin Q reminder!), a birthday card with a cool cat on the front (perhaps as a surprise for Jimmy in March?), more on-sale Moritz Icy Squares for myself, NEW Wild Wild Ranch Paqui Chips for myself, Crème de Pirouline dark chocolate artisan rolled wafers for Chrystal, on-sale Truffettes de France candy cane cocoa truffles for myself, on-sale Ganong Delecto dark chocolate peppermint creams for Eric, and on-sale assorted Elmer Chocolate creams for Jon's family. When I got home at 8 on a 401 (just missed the 407), I got Paul and Shiv's addresses. One of them reminded me of Josef Mengele and Phil's Westfalia van!

"You Are Claire"

You are a bit of a cynic, but you have a good sense of humor - especially when it comes to observant and wry jokes.
You suffer most from your own indecisiveness in life. It would serve you well to follow your heart more.

You tell it like it is, sometimes to the point of being harsh. You know how to go for someone's sore spot.
It takes a while for your heart to warm up to love, even though you are open to the world and friendship.

glowing_dragon: (No Netspeak!)
THIS ENTRY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE NON-ALIGNED TAGS.

"You Are Psychopathy"

At your darkest times, your heart turns cold. You can operate without concern for anybody but yourself.
You may not have a psychopath, but you have the charm and calculation of one. It just depends on whether you want to turn it on.

While psychopaths are dangerous, your cool demeanor can serve you and the world well... if you let it.
Your lack of anxiety means you can navigate emergencies and stressful situations better than most people. Not much gets under your skin.

"You Practice Self-Care Regularly"

You are a pro at self-care, and you make sure to take time for yourself every day. You run on full... not empty!
While some people may worry about putting themselves first too much, you don't give it a second thought. You know what you need.

By taking good care of yourself, you can take better care of others. You have plenty of resources to go around.
If only everyone practiced as much self-care as you do, the world would be a much happier place!

"You Are Tough"

You are deep and resilient. You can get through anything, and you always have the ability to dig deep.
Your good deeds go unnoticed, and you don't mind being part of a group effort. You're happy to work behind the scenes.

When it comes to fashion, you have your own unique style. You update it over time, but you rarely change your overall look.
You dress to work hard and be comfortable - nothing too fancy. However, you also add some fun subtle flair.

"You Are Roasted Vegetables"

You are a bit of a homebody, and there's no better time to be at home than the holidays. You love this part of the year.
You feel the most productive and centered when you're at home. No matter how small, your home is truly your castle.

You live a simple and uncomplicated life. You think the most important thing is to make yourself happy.
You see less as more because you make sure to make it more. Nothing is too small or inconsequential for you to enjoy.

"You Are House of Yes"

Your family tends to prefer a picture-perfect holiday, but you can only fake it for so long.
You've got serious history with these people, and you're not one to brush over the past. Even for Thanksgiving!

You are a bit of an oddball yourself, and you tend to have strong passions. Some would call them obsessions.
Once you get your mind set on something, you're not going to change it. You tend to be single focused.

SO FUCKING TRUE!
glowing_dragon: (LJ Drama)
I noticed that Eric Ho had tried calling me yesterday when I was out, so I called him back at 11:50 AM. He answered the phone, and said that he just wanted to let me know - AFTER THE FACT! - that he'd tried sending me an email on Saturday to say that he couldn't make it, and had noticed that I'd called him at 6:40 that evening. Ah yes, his email problems had cropped up again! He wanted to get together this Saturday for the Calgary game at 7 instead, so he'll call me after he gets off work that day. Sure, why not? That sounds good!

From Not Always Romantic on September 2, 2016: Why would you ever text your EX in a GUSHY manner?!

This is in the Disqus comments to "Married To The Merry Murderesses" on Not Always Romantic on June 15, 2017. Nope takes things way too personally when people are (not) fine with her poly lifestyle choice!

"Your Autumn Lipstick is Dusty Rose"

You are wise and quietly smart. You often know more than most people, but you tend to keep that to yourself.
You appreciate subtlety in everything. You think most people try too hard, and you always prefer nuance.

You are naturally stylish, and you've got that effortlessly chic thing down. You have an eye for beauty.
No one sees how much work goes into your look, and you like it that way. Your makeup enhances, but doesn't distract.

"You Are Chocolate Frosting"

You're the first to admit that you're a bit old-school, but you prefer the term "classic."
Unlike a lot of modern people, you don't believe in depriving yourself. A little indulgence is a good thing, especially if it's frosting!

You take good care of yourself, and you never forget to look after your loved ones. You are naturally thoughtful and generous.
You are the type of person who likes to work behind the scenes. You don't think of yourself as anything special, but people wouldn't want to live without you.

After COFFEE TIME, I left at 4:40 to get to Jeremy's for white Eric's birthday dinner in the HOT weather! I managed to get a 99 bus that dropped me right in front of Kingsgate Mall, but the transit security officer said that I should wait two seconds for the bus to stop. Yeah, I know that, but you're directly in my way! I bought a Western Family Swiss 72% dark chocolate bar for Eric (because anything from home would probably have MELTED on the way to Jeremy's), some on-sale Vancouver Only lemon dish detergent, a Lever 2000 Pure Rain body wash (which seems more easily openable right now, so I'm using it immediately), and some Old Spice Denali body wash at Buy-Low for the Gwei Lo before cutting through Dude Chilling Park to get to Jeremy's. To my mild surprise, dinner was already in progress after Eric joked about whether I really wanted to come in. No, I want to sweat my ass off all evening instead! I gave Eric his birthday card and chocolate bar, and told him that Steph said hi and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, too!

Ayler and Hiero were there, and acknowledged my presence by saying that I was sitting diagonally from them. We had fish tacos, fish sauce, coleslaw, a simple tomato salad, and hibiscus juice. It was fine, and it was only $8 for me. Randal was there, but I barely acknowledged him. I saw white Eric #2, which was a surprise. I played for a bit with Hiero, who wanted to steer the blue car through "traffic" and went over the barrier of Christon's foot. We watched Japanese babymetal music videos by きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ (thanks to Stanley - who's getting married on November 18), some Albert Ayler, and even a bit of a TedTalk thanks to Hiero pressing a bunch of computer keys. Ayler said that he can walk to kindergarten some of the days, which makes sense!

The kids went home early after excitedly watering the plants. Jeremy asked me if I knew what a literal douche (the stuff which is sold in stores) was when I got back from the bathroom - I said that Christon would have to look it up himself! Then we watched Kendrick Lamar (thanks to Stanley) and Tyler the Creator before Jon thought we could all go to Twelve Kings for a pint. Eric and I just opted to go home afterwards, which was great for me and my alone time! I got home at 8:15 after discussing Whitney Houston / Erykah Badu / my tentative sushi plans with Eric.

From Julie: I know you're upset. Why don't you post something passive-aggressive on Facebook and not explain the situation. That usually helps.

"Your Imperfect Heart is Honest"

Your heart is imperfect because it is so intuitive and perceptive. You tend to know the deal without people needing to say it.
You may read between the lines, but you don't expect others to. You are very truthful - and even brutally frank - when it comes to love.

You are faithful and devoted to the person that you choose to love. Your heart doesn't waver or stray.
You can be a bit obsessive when your heart is set on someone. You'll face it - you're addicted to love.

glowing_dragon: (Bert and Ernie)

"You Are William"

You are a smart and contemplative person. You have always been ahead of your time.
You are very curious about the world and enjoy the role of observer. When it comes to many subjects, you definitely know your stuff.

You are dedicated and persistent. You may not be the most aggressive person, but you are assertive in your own way.
You find most other people fascinating. You are not one to intervene much in others' lives, but you will stand up for what is right.

"You Are Waffle Fries"

You are a bit of a rebel and even a lone wolf. You are extremely resistant to peer pressure.
You aren't one to follow the crowd, and you may even run in the opposite direction. You like the solitude of the road less traveled.

You can be a bit of a cynic at times, but you are never too pessimistic. You have a hearty appetite for all of life's experiences, including food.
You like your waffles a little different, and won't just stop at waffle fries. Falafel waffle, anyone?

glowing_dragon: (Crazy-Eyed Bear)

"You Are a Heath Blizzard"

You are a unique person who does your own thing in life. You are always inspired and thinking up new plans.
You can be a bit of a geek, and you wouldn't have it any other way. You like delving deep into a subject.

You tend to have some unusual preferences, but it's only because you take in so much of the world. You sample as much as you can.
You crave the comfort of the things and people you like best. However, you are always open to trying something new for a change.

glowing_dragon: (Bubble Tea)

"You Are Balanced"

You're the type who likes everything in moderation, and you're especially good at balancing out life's extremes.
You are a bit of a novelty seeker, and you like to have a really good mix of things in your life. There is always room for something or someone new.

You meld well with many different types of people, and you can bridge the gap in groups where members have little in common.
You don't take anything in life too personally and seriously. If you have a bad day or week, you know things will eventually even out.

From Reddit on July 27, 2017: Stop whining, StripedPinkBoxers. "The phrase "girl crush" upholds heteronormativity in such an unnecessary way!" I personally don't think so. I'm cool if you're LGBT, but you have to realize that heterosexuality (and monogamy) is the assumed default for society! In the past, she's even tried challenging me on what I'd think if Nephew #4 was in fact a girl. Nice try, but I'd treat a nephew and a niece the same basic way! I'm also definitely not a fan of people abbreviating "THOUGH" as "tho." Also, LegsForAboutAnHour is a prostitute who got raped.

glowing_dragon: (No Netspeak!)

"You Are the Crust"

You are a solid person, and you tend to be the foundation for any relationship or project.
While you are the rock for others, it doesn't mean that you are basic or boring. You have a lot of complexity to you.

You have a strong personality and can be a bit overwhelming one on one. You really shine in a group setting.
You know how to make things complete without even trying. You have both a bold and comforting presence.

From Julie: I stopped and waited at this sign for 20 minutes, and zero people did motocross tricks over a rainbow...

BAD SPELLING! It's not "an zero people"!

glowing_dragon: (French Toast)
Now that the HTML posting option on Blogthings finally works again (for now?), I can post all the drafts I've saved!

"You Are Shakshuka"

You love comfort and feeling cozy, but you are also open to new experiences. You crave warmth of all sorts.
You are a bit of an oddball, and you wouldn't have it any other way. You are a person of substance - not just of quirks.

You are a skilled nurturer, both of others and of yourself. You believe that taking care of people is the ultimate goal.
You are a passionate person, and you try to shy away from anything that's a little too average. You make the bold choice when you can.

"You Are Pretty Adaptable"

You know when it's time to be flexible, but you also know when to stand your ground. You assess every situation as it comes.
You've got a lot that's working for you in your life. You're willing to improve, but you're not going to throw it away for the latest thing.

People may say that you should be more adaptable, but it's likely that they just want you to adapt to their ways!
Above all, you tend to be a realist who is living in the present. You know a good opportunity when you see one, but you also can sense when something is a waste of time.
