glowing_dragon: (Happy Birthday!)
Jon sent me a Facebook message at 8:50 AM to wonder if I could come over at 2:15 today instead because Harmony had to pick up Hiero from school and actually wanted to be on time, and Ayler wasn't feeling well. I assumed I had to hold down the fort there, especially when he called a few minutes later after I'd already sent my reply to ask if they were puking or loopy, so I agreed. Then Barry left me a voicemail, but I delete those, so I called him back to find out that he wanted to move grocery shopping to Thursday instead of tomorrow. What did they do - leave the messages and then run away within two seconds?! Sheesh!

Later, I had some New England Clam Chowder today for National New England Clam Chowder Day, right when Harmony sent me a text wondering if I could come slightly earlier. That's on the buses, not on me! After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 1 on an 401 to help with the kids, just missing the early C94 and the early 407. The 3 was seven minutes LATE at Marine Drive Station! GEEZ! I finally got to Jon's at 2:15 - so much for shortly BEFORE that time! At least there were no random two-minute stops along the route, wheelchair / stroller delays, or elevator shenanigans today!

When I got there, Harmony and Beckett left within five minutes, but Beckett did show me his Gorilla Munch cereal, which were indeed balls! He also showed me a huge yellow Blockbuster chip bowl and the blue tub, which he had fun with later. It was good to have some time alone with Ayler, who thinks that I won't get what he has because his dad said so. Haha, I wish germs and viruses worked that way! We talked about Fraser, Henry, racetracks, the school secretary, no nurses at the school, Harmony just driving to the school today (walking 30 blocks in the rain with a toddler in a carrier?!), my phone photos and calculating how many seconds were in a year by using the Calculator app, hand sanitizer, texting, oranges, what it meant when you vomited, water, and reading some children's Bible stories like the Good Samaritan / the Feeding of the 5000 with fish and loaves / Daniel in the lion's den. He wanted to teach Beckett about word patterns and especially the word "gun" since Beckett will repeat anything. Uncle Joe has taught him "hit your butt!" in Cantonese since it's funny.

Everyone else came home at 3:40 (thus ending our freedom to talk), and Beckett had fun with his toys and plopping into my lap to "read" the summertime book and the Christmas piano book cover because he saw "balls" (ornaments) on there. No wonder the piano had wings - there was Santa in his sleigh, too! I gave Hiero his birthday card, which he seemed to like - he also was enamored with the Creature toy I'd given him on Sunday. Hiero opened all the rest of his birthday presents - turned out that Mom had forgotten to write in the birthday card she gave him, but had also given them a pack of Ontrue seaweed in the regular flavor! He also got at least four Lego sets, a PAW PATROL puzzle set, a science toy, and Rain or Shine ice cream gift cards! His friend Leanne gave him three gifts - WOW! Beckett stood on top of a puzzle box (and wanted some grey robot toys - saying "MINE!" when they were Hiero's), and I accidentally squished the Lego STAR WARS box.

We had peas and macaroni in soup with some grapes, cherry tomatoes, and sticky rice while discussing last week's snow and other things. Ayler said the soup was salty, but it really wasn't - it was really bland and just what you might want if you were sick with tummy upset. Beckett threw cheese and some other things on the floor, but liked his cereal as usual - and smiled BIG for the Vitamin D tablets! I had some leftover cheesecake while the kids had some orange Jello which was rather liquidy in consistency! Hiero did some "home reading" with me - but I had to sound out words and make sure he knew what was going on. Beckett and I played with balls, the stacking blocks ("doggy!"), and the toy train which can zoom on the wooden floor. When I showed him my doggy slipper socks from Grandma Joan, he sniffed them and played around with the "ears" - silly kid!

Just as I was about to leave at 7:25 (with Beckett saying "BYE BYE!" in a serious manner a few times), Ayler vomited on the bathroom floor and surrounding floor area! Yes, I could stay even later because that had happened and Harmony had to do clean-up. She barricaded the area with a garbage can and laundry basket, while I made sure Beckett stayed on the mat. That meant he could read even more, relax with the blanket, look out the window at the lights, and call the new 3-D Glowing Planets "boh-boh"! When Hiero took things like the action figures away from Beckett, he cried - so of course I gave him some hugs and told him that his brother was terrible! Lately, Beckett has learned the word "help" and is using it in the proper context instead of just pointing at things and vocalizing - good job! He usually needs it to get balls out from under the couch, or to get balls out from small boxes and blocks!

Turns out Ayler requested that I stay to watch him eat his banana and drink some water while Harmony bathed everyone else. Sure, why not? We talked about applesauce, tuna NOT being part of the BRAT diet, the school having a janitor / custodian at least, my opinion that he should probably stay home, math, "my baby" being Beckett, Beckett's talking in his sleep (to say "please" and other simple words), and more things. I finally left at 8:10 (encountering an Evo driver who liked driving on the sidewalk...) and got home at 9:35 on a 407. PHEW! Extended Nephew Time on BOTH ends of the time spectrum!

Harmony and I cancelled Nephew Time because of the snowy weather warning today. COFFEE TIME after I went out briefly to London Drugs in the freezing weather and extremely light snow to get Mr. Noodles beef / chicken / spicy chicken packs! The Canucks played Winnipeg today at 5, and lost 4-0 including an empty-netter...

Julie M. was on vacation and saw this map at a Pennsylvania visitor centre: Forty Fort and Ransom, Pennsylvania?!

It's so cold here that my Ottogi Jin Ramen powder came out in one solid square...

Look what I found in my full sock drawer: this pair of socks with penguins and snowflakes that Julie M. gave me for Christmas 2014! Perfect for -7° and cold snowy days like today!

After I had COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 11:50 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I bought a NEW on-sale Caramilk chocolate bar and a half, NEW Triscuit dill / sea salt / olive oil crackers, NEW Triscuit Canada balsamic and basil crackers, NEW basil and garlic Triscuits crackers, Ottogi Jin Ramen in both spicy and mild flavors, NEW Western Family chicken and wild / brown rice soup, NEW Western Family chicken and rotini soup, NEW Western Family soy sauce x2 (regular and 50% less sodium), NEW DASANI water (after the soy sauce attacked me), a NEW HERSHEY'S Gold chocolate bar (peanuts and pretzels), Western Family 8-vegetable lasagna with multigrain pasta (carrots / green and red Bell peppers / spinach / zucchini / cauliflower / broccoli / black olives), on-sale Olympic Dairy organic plain yogurt.

Also bought bananas, on-sale Excel Gum in peppermint flavor x3, NEW Shirakiku Goku-Uma tonkotsu noodles, NEW on-sale STAGG Chili Canada Steak House chili, NEW Tim Hortons canned soup x3 (Cream of Broccoli / Chicken Noodle / Chicken Rice), on-sale MilkisPH Snoopy six-pack drinks x7 (milk and yogurt in a bottle / canned melon / canned apple / canned banana / canned mango / canned peach / canned original), Western Family prune nectar, on-sale NEW O'Tasty vegetable / pork / black mushroom dumplings or potstickers, Joy Chinese Dim Sum dumplings x4, and Silk Canada almond milk! After that, I paid my Shaw bill online at home.

Later, I tried to get Hester to give me some laundry tokens (March 26, 2019). She said that they were going out right now, but I could have some if I came by immediately. So I did, but she was STILL not impressed because I should have taken the "nearest" stairs so she wouldn't have to wait three minutes, which is apparently an inconvenience. Well, maybe she should work on the building's elevator which has been out of service for five weeks, and replacing the dryer which has been out of commission for three months! Then when I left her door, she said that I should take the "nearest" stairs - no, because I'd still have to walk down a long hallway regardless! I told her NO! I'm going to do what works best for me, and it's just TOO BAD if my disability and walking speed causes her to wait a few more minutes to leave the building since they haven't invented teleportation for real yet! The Canucks played the Senators again tonight at 7 in Preseason Game #7 (the penultimate!), and lost 6-2.

I was out of my place at 5:20 when Deb called to see if it was a good time to pick me up on the way to grab the kids from wherever they were after school. Sure, why not? We went to Hugh Boyd where Declan was; Dylan had picked Elysse up earlier since he'd felt sick at work at 2 or so. Declan demonstrated some good reading skills when we waited for Deb at Seafair Complex before getting some gas for the car. Yeah, the sushi and tempura is a good place to start. He told me that he would let his wife choose the names for their future kids - solid choice, my friend! I'm sure he'd like to try Subway sometime, too. As soon as we got home, the kids started talking about negotiating iPad time and toy time - nice!

We had very slightly spicy chicken wings, rice, bass fish, and bok choy for dinner after watching SAMURAI RANGERS and MINECRAFT. Declan wanted to show me his musical SAMURAI RANGERS sword, which is fine. Elysse insisted on watching GLITTER FORCE with GLITTER FORCE MAKEOVER on the iPad during dinner. When she asked me about my cellphone, I said that I'd received it from my dad. Her answer: "DID HE DIE?!" HAHAHAHA, how amusingly morbid!

If I can type with 98% spelling and grammar accuracy on my phone like I am doing "right now," so can everyone else who doesn't have legitimate difficulties with the English language. There, I said it... BOOM!

After COFFEE TIME and SHOWER TIME, I went out with the barkTHINS snacking dark chocolate with pumpkin seeds at 4:10 to meet Dad at King Edward station so we could get to Jon and Harmony's. If they wanted to invite Randal and his dad (who ended up not coming because he doesn't like meeting strangers...), that was fine. I thought I'd be earlier than needed, so stopped at Marine Drive Station to kill time at T and T. I got some lime Lays chips while I was there! Got to King Edward Station in time, where Dad showed up in their new-to-them car.

Yes, my eye surgery IS important even if I can't see as well out of that eye, thanks very much! We actually got to talk to Steph via FaceTime for a while, too! Ayler and Hiero said hi, made me guess what they did today, pretended their colorful train tracks were Zambonis, asked about eye exams, put way too much cranberry sauce on their turkey, asked if they could have my beer (NO!), and climbed all over me and Randal. I did actually get to see baby Beckett, who is getting started on solids pretty early, but he seems to be okay with it. He smiled at me, and tried taking his colorful toy when (at Jon's direction) I brushed it against his hand. Mom had an unscheduled stop at Foody World (where apples were 28 cents a pound), but I got dinner leftovers (fall salad / turkey / gravy) with random Pocky and three apples when I finally got home at 8:45! I also got my garbage bag full of WASHED JACKETS and WINTER COATS back when the lards gave me a ride home!

"You Are the Crust"

You are a solid person, and you tend to be the foundation for any relationship or project.
While you are the rock for others, it doesn't mean that you are basic or boring. You have a lot of complexity to you.

You have a strong personality and can be a bit overwhelming one on one. You really shine in a group setting.
You know how to make things complete without even trying. You have both a bold and comforting presence.

From Julie: I stopped and waited at this sign for 20 minutes, and zero people did motocross tricks over a rainbow...

After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 6 to meet Chrystal at the Broadway Station London Drugs. She definitely appreciated her 35 index cards for her 35th birthday, the Rose and Robin solid chocolate 200g Easter bunny, the giant Dreamworks Trolls milk chocolate heart, the two Christmas Mix packs of Coconut / Red Apple / Very Cherry / Green Apple Jelly Belly jellybeans, the carrot cake Hershey's Kisses, the Ziploc bag full of Hershey's Eggies / Lindt milk chocolate Easter eggs / Lindt white chocolate Easter eggs / Lindt dark chocolate Easter eggs / Brookside Merlot Blackcurrant and Brookside Chardonnay Grape Peach chocolates, and her very belated birthday card! We eventually headed over a block to Menya Japanese Noodle House after I'd glanced at the MAD magazine for sale. (I can't believe I didn't LIKE the Facebook page until I got home tonight!) The place had wood stumps for chairs, which is interesting! I got their Shoyu ramen while we caught up on life - her uncle moving to a Richmond townhouse somewhere, Emily and Mike not having chairs or a table yet, my seeing Uncle Peter and Auntie Ying on the 402 bus yesterday, her nephew Ethan loving numbers, and walking around London Drugs later.

I was going to get WASABI Pringles with my Heluva Good Jalapeno Cheddar chip dip, but ended up getting the sour cream and onion Pringles instead since the green colors were very similar AND they were right next to each other on the fucking shelf! I only found that out after opening them up when I got home at 8:55 on a 407 to try one, and the online shopping options on the London Drugs website only take credit cards and selected Interac cards; the shipping options are equally ridiculous, since $7.95 or $35.95 for ground shipping or UPS Western Canada delivery is exorbitant!

Since Steph was in town for some weird RCMP reason and we obviously had a family dinner at Wo's for this, it was COFFEE TIME for me at 3:45 before I left at 4:30! I STILL GOT THERE EARLIER THAN EVERYONE ELSE! (despite trying to book it up the stairs at Brighouse Station AND accidentally getting off two stops before I should have on the 3 bus - VERY LONG BLOCKS OF WALKING!) Luckily, Steph / Lisa / Fraser came in five minutes later. Of course I got a hug and kiss from him! We had green beans with pork, beef and broccoli, Chinese fried chicken, Shanghai noodles, sweet and sour pork (Nephew #3 LOVED the pineapples!), rice, corn soup, and yee mein with mushrooms for dinner. Ayler asked about the numbers on the Washington-Pittsburgh game, so I at least told him WHY they were counting down, although Steph added that they count UP in international hockey.

He also made an L and E with various chopsticks, while Hiero wanted to say things reversed or backwards. Fraser just hadn't had enough sleep because he hadn't slept on the plane this afternoon, but that was fine. Ayler asked me how old I was, said I should take off my hat and glasses (not now!), and wanted to come over. Haha, maybe. "Guung Guung" vs. "Yeh-Yeh" blew his mind, haha. "Why do you say Guung-Guung? You should say Yeh-Yeh!" Later, he asked why I said 'excuse me" when I left the bathroom as they were coming in. He was definitely ready to go before others were done! Mom and Dad gave me a ride home, so I got home at 6:55 at least.

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: A Rose and Robin solid chocolate 200g Easter bunny, a pair of pink and dark grey socks, eight double rolls of Royale toilet paper, two ceramic microwaveable plates, a box of Annie's organic macaroni and cheese, a travel mug, two copies of OUR DAILY BREAD covering March to August 2017 (which is honestly NOT going to make me a churchgoing person again), and a one-day pillbox which covers morning / noon / night pills.

Went out today after I called Barry to set up a food shopping appointment: my poor sleep schedule is going to suffer if it's on Friday at 10 AM, but I guess I'll deal. Eric also sent me an email about Friday's program and small groups on Wednesdays; I'll think about it. I did the usual banking after mailing my bus pass application, then I spent some time trying to redeem some Shoppers Optimum points only because I'd discovered that the zipper on my newest London Drugs bag BROKE! (I'd only had that thing since July 17, man!) I managed to find the ones at Shoppers all right, and selected a purple-and-green one with a gold SOLID zipper. Hopefully, that won't break on me anytime soon! That was $25, but I got it for free with the points redemption. I also got some Fire-Roasted Chipotle artisan Tostitos chips, and a more manageable size of on-sale Lindt dark chocolate bar. I'll give the original 300g one to Chrystal, haha.

Decided to go to London Drugs since their large Ziploc bags were cheaper than Shoppers; the extra-large ones were also on sale, so I got two units! While there, I saw the morbid Halloween candy which Janina wanted me to buy: Scaries, Scaero, and Coffin Crisp! I saw ghostly Kit-Kats as well, but I decided not to get them for now. Purchased those for me / Janina / Marilynn / Lisa / Harmony (should get some for Eric H. and Chrystal later), on-sale Pepperidge Farm Chessmen (shortbread?), Halloween cards and stickers, a bubble-wrap envelope for mailing purposes, and two maple syrup nougat chocolate bars. Got home and organized everything first before delving into my latest project again, of course. The skull stuff fits into the envelope, so that'll be going to California!
