It's Daylight Savings Time 2020 (ugh) AND International Women's Day today! The Canucks played the Blue Jackets tonight at 7, and lost 2-1.

glowing_dragon: (Happy Birthday!)
Jon sent me a Facebook message at 8:50 AM to wonder if I could come over at 2:15 today instead because Harmony had to pick up Hiero from school and actually wanted to be on time, and Ayler wasn't feeling well. I assumed I had to hold down the fort there, especially when he called a few minutes later after I'd already sent my reply to ask if they were puking or loopy, so I agreed. Then Barry left me a voicemail, but I delete those, so I called him back to find out that he wanted to move grocery shopping to Thursday instead of tomorrow. What did they do - leave the messages and then run away within two seconds?! Sheesh!

Later, I had some New England Clam Chowder today for National New England Clam Chowder Day, right when Harmony sent me a text wondering if I could come slightly earlier. That's on the buses, not on me! After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 1 on an 401 to help with the kids, just missing the early C94 and the early 407. The 3 was seven minutes LATE at Marine Drive Station! GEEZ! I finally got to Jon's at 2:15 - so much for shortly BEFORE that time! At least there were no random two-minute stops along the route, wheelchair / stroller delays, or elevator shenanigans today!

When I got there, Harmony and Beckett left within five minutes, but Beckett did show me his Gorilla Munch cereal, which were indeed balls! He also showed me a huge yellow Blockbuster chip bowl and the blue tub, which he had fun with later. It was good to have some time alone with Ayler, who thinks that I won't get what he has because his dad said so. Haha, I wish germs and viruses worked that way! We talked about Fraser, Henry, racetracks, the school secretary, no nurses at the school, Harmony just driving to the school today (walking 30 blocks in the rain with a toddler in a carrier?!), my phone photos and calculating how many seconds were in a year by using the Calculator app, hand sanitizer, texting, oranges, what it meant when you vomited, water, and reading some children's Bible stories like the Good Samaritan / the Feeding of the 5000 with fish and loaves / Daniel in the lion's den. He wanted to teach Beckett about word patterns and especially the word "gun" since Beckett will repeat anything. Uncle Joe has taught him "hit your butt!" in Cantonese since it's funny.

Everyone else came home at 3:40 (thus ending our freedom to talk), and Beckett had fun with his toys and plopping into my lap to "read" the summertime book and the Christmas piano book cover because he saw "balls" (ornaments) on there. No wonder the piano had wings - there was Santa in his sleigh, too! I gave Hiero his birthday card, which he seemed to like - he also was enamored with the Creature toy I'd given him on Sunday. Hiero opened all the rest of his birthday presents - turned out that Mom had forgotten to write in the birthday card she gave him, but had also given them a pack of Ontrue seaweed in the regular flavor! He also got at least four Lego sets, a PAW PATROL puzzle set, a science toy, and Rain or Shine ice cream gift cards! His friend Leanne gave him three gifts - WOW! Beckett stood on top of a puzzle box (and wanted some grey robot toys - saying "MINE!" when they were Hiero's), and I accidentally squished the Lego STAR WARS box.

We had peas and macaroni in soup with some grapes, cherry tomatoes, and sticky rice while discussing last week's snow and other things. Ayler said the soup was salty, but it really wasn't - it was really bland and just what you might want if you were sick with tummy upset. Beckett threw cheese and some other things on the floor, but liked his cereal as usual - and smiled BIG for the Vitamin D tablets! I had some leftover cheesecake while the kids had some orange Jello which was rather liquidy in consistency! Hiero did some "home reading" with me - but I had to sound out words and make sure he knew what was going on. Beckett and I played with balls, the stacking blocks ("doggy!"), and the toy train which can zoom on the wooden floor. When I showed him my doggy slipper socks from Grandma Joan, he sniffed them and played around with the "ears" - silly kid!

Just as I was about to leave at 7:25 (with Beckett saying "BYE BYE!" in a serious manner a few times), Ayler vomited on the bathroom floor and surrounding floor area! Yes, I could stay even later because that had happened and Harmony had to do clean-up. She barricaded the area with a garbage can and laundry basket, while I made sure Beckett stayed on the mat. That meant he could read even more, relax with the blanket, look out the window at the lights, and call the new 3-D Glowing Planets "boh-boh"! When Hiero took things like the action figures away from Beckett, he cried - so of course I gave him some hugs and told him that his brother was terrible! Lately, Beckett has learned the word "help" and is using it in the proper context instead of just pointing at things and vocalizing - good job! He usually needs it to get balls out from under the couch, or to get balls out from small boxes and blocks!

Turns out Ayler requested that I stay to watch him eat his banana and drink some water while Harmony bathed everyone else. Sure, why not? We talked about applesauce, tuna NOT being part of the BRAT diet, the school having a janitor / custodian at least, my opinion that he should probably stay home, math, "my baby" being Beckett, Beckett's talking in his sleep (to say "please" and other simple words), and more things. I finally left at 8:10 (encountering an Evo driver who liked driving on the sidewalk...) and got home at 9:35 on a 407. PHEW! Extended Nephew Time on BOTH ends of the time spectrum!

I went out again at 5 on a 407 to Shoppers Drug Mart. Wanted to get a lot of soup for the snow: on-sale Campbell's Everyday Gourmet soup x4 (Fire-Roasted Sweet Pepper and Tomato / Harvest Mushroom with White Wine / Garden Market Vegetable / Golden Butternut Squash), on-sale Lipton Cup-A-Soup x4 (Chicken Noodle x2 / Chicken Noodle Supreme x2), and President's Choice canned soup x3. (World of Flavors Thai Chicken / World of Flavors Indian Chicken Mulligatawny / World of Flavors Mexican Chicken) Then I got home at 6:10 after taking pictures of the DRAGON ARTWORK at the hospital across the street.

Checked my mail, and got a belated Make-A-Wish Australia Christmas card and a bunch of Australian postcards from Deanna H. in the mail this week. (Elephant In The Room / DYNAMICS OF AIR / Hop Fest - Yarra Valley's New Beer and Cider Festival / Cook On The Pacific / Disney Christopher Robin x2 / MAKE BELIEVE: THE STORY OF THE MYER CHRISTMAS WINDOWS from the Melbourne Museum / "Be grateful that today is Saturday, as it means you still have tomorrow to monkey around" / "Being with you is like hearing my favorite song")

After I went to Brighouse library this morning (where Facebook thought I was in Whistler, and more annoyingly, a random Asian auntie thought I could use up my precious computer time to look around for HER random papers - and also thought that my index cards from home were her papers!), I walked from there to London Drugs. I bought 200 Mead index cards, two pairs of Secret slightly thick black bamboo socks, and two pairs of Secret black bamboo thin socks to replace the one with holes in it before getting home at 1:15 on a 401, where I assumed Hester and her suite inspection had already come by.

At 6, I called Eric to remind him about possibly coming over tonight to fix the computer monitor situation. He said he could swing by after work, which is lucky for me. I then crammed in dinner and a shower before he called again at 7 to say that he'd be here in half an hour. At 7:35, he called again to say that he was here. He did some unplugging and plugging, and asked about the laptop as well. Eventually, he said that he thought both of my computer monitors were dead, and that if I reminded him in a couple of weeks, he could look around for a new(er) PC for me since this one from Dylan's brother-in-law is getting pretty old (I didn't even ask!), AND he could take the monitor to electronic recycling for me! After he tinkered around a little more (and expressed astonishment that someone would actually trust Jim Benning), he somehow got one of the monitors to work by doing some more unplugging and plugging it back in again. He definitely deserved a Green and Black's Dark Chocolate Peppermint Oil bar in addition to my verbal thanks! I caught up with messages, and noticed that Terry Cheng had unfriended / blocked me on Facebook. Whatever! I don't care!

When Lucas and Boney talk to this stray dog in MOTHER 3 after Ionia explains the Needles to them, he says: "When you hang around sheep as a stray dog, you start to feel more like a pet dog."

After Lucas and Boney put on their pig masks inside the MOTHER 3 Chimera Lab, they check out this basket. "A bunch of yucky laundry is inside here."

When Lucas and Boney refuse to save their MOTHER 3 game with this save frog inside the Chimera Lab bathroom, he says: "For frogs inside bathrooms, the sky is rectangular and small. But no saving for you, huh?"

COFFEE TIME! Dawn's friend Terry Cheng added me to Facebook, saying that we'd attended Palmer and McNair together - okay, I can definitely go with that! The Canucks played the Blue Jackets at 1 today, and won 5-4 in overtime despite Columbus scoring three times in the last four minutes of regulation. Thatcher Demko got his first NHL win!

After I had COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 12:50 and we went banking and to Price Smart, where 80% of the store smelled like durian! I bought on-sale Western Family store brand Ultra paper towels in a six-pack, on-sale Cottonelle toilet paper, Fanny Bay raw oysters for $20 (June 2, 2017), noodles, SOMETHING NEW, ice cream, dumplings, Western Family store brand chili con carne (hot AND original styles!) plus Uncle Ben's Bistro Express basmati rice x2 to go with it, on-sale Finesse extra body shampoo / conditioner, Koka curry noodles x2, store brand large rubber gloves, on-sale Finesse moisturizing shampoo / conditioner, on-sale Juzz Mee noodles x2 (original AND curry), Paldo spicy cheese ramen, regular and curry Laksa wholegrain La Mian noodles, and on-sale Silk almond milk x2. Then we went to London Drugs: a Jersey Milk chocolate bar for the Randal memory dragon, on-sale SunRype apple juice, on-sale SunRype orange juice, and on-sale Colgate 360° toothbrushes x2.

Barry and I saw a GOLDEN TRUCK in the back parking lot of London Drugs! When I got home, I paid my Shaw bill online. Then I went back to London Drugs (twice in one day!) at 6:30 on a 401 so I could get some on-sale LATE JULY organic multigrain tortilla chips for the time coincidence and quirkiness! I love quirky coincidences! While I was there, I couldn't resist getting one last large SunRype apple juice for a total savings of $12 on four jugs because the sale ends tonight! I got home at 6:55 on a 407, so YAY FOR BUS EFFICIENCY! I also saw an old guy with an artificial leg!

It was COFFEE TIME this morning at 8 AM since I had maybe six hours of sleep!

In MOTHER 2 DELUXE, Jeff Andonuts makes it to Dr. Andonuts' Lab south of Stonehenge. Look at this glitchy Sky Walker! You should see it when it's flying to the town of Threek... thank goodness it worked to fly in when I exited the lab and entered again for a better version of the machine! I see a bit of an Instant Revitalizing Device!

In MOTHER 2 DELUXE, Ness / Paula / Jeff finally make it to Fourside. They meet this garden-variety mole, who tells them that even PPK Spirit can be dodged if the target has enough Speed. Luck and Speed are much more important stats in this game than the original, that's definitely for sure!

Here are Ness, Jeff, and the Teddy Bear in Fourside's Department Store!

At 12:35, I called Chrystal to see when a good time would be for us to get together this month. The move apparently did not go smoothly last week, as Emily's still organizing a bunch of stuff at both places. I didn't mind meeting at the end of the month, as it gives me more time to NOT feel rushed: Friday the 26th at 6:30 sounds good to me! Yeah, I suggested that she write it down somewhere after the phone call so she'd remember, haha. I did also tell her to say hi to everyone, and tell them that I hoped everything else would go well. Then I went out at 3 on a 401 to London Drugs so I could get 200 Mead index cards, a pair of replacement black Secret relaxed fit socks since ANOTHER pair had holes in them, a MACHINE-WASHABLE taupe Splash Softee bath mat to replace the one from 29 January 2015, NEW Uncle Lee's organic white tea, and NEW Uncle Lee's organic green tea. I got home at 3:45 on a 407, so that's good.

I went to Richmond Public Market at 2:15 to see if they had stove pans at that "second-floor haircut shop" which Hester had mentioned. They did, but they also had a no-return policy, which I was not comfortable with. THAT WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY! Then I went to the liquor store, where I selected some NEW on-sale 40% Crown Royal Deluxe whiskey ($2 off for 1.14 litres!) which included a tiny 50mL sample of NEW 90% Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye whiskey. I then decided to go to Specialty Chicken and Wonton House so I could try a NEW Buddha's Feast (a New Year's goal) as takeout. My last stop was London Drugs for a spare red face cloth, new Scotch scissors for my table since the old ones were rusty, NEW peanut butter Whittaker chocolate / NEW peppermint Whittaker chocolate for myself, on-sale assorted Lindt Easter eggs x2 (one for Ayler and Hiero / one for me), on-sale $2 Dawn dish detergent (Mediterranean Lavender), on-sale Hershey's Eggies, NEW Carmex lip balm x2, a replacement Gibson owl coffee mug (with a sticker which was easily peeled!) since my sunflower and rooster one kinda cracked, and on-sale store brand 40 garbage bags x2. I got home at 3:45 when it was just starting to rain with random raindrops. By the time I went out two hours later to throw my garbage out, it was really raining - good timing on my part!

[livejournal.com profile] lilaznffairy421 and I have decided to see if we can reach the maximum number of comments on a post, which is currently set at 5000. (I guess the previous limit of 60,000-something was way too much.. probably caused the servers to crash, burn, and explode!)

We're not members of [livejournal.com profile] _commentwhores, so no worries there. If you want to help us reach that comment limit on this post, go ahead! (I thought of not allowing anyone else to comment, but that didn't promote a spirit of togetherness)

It will be interesting to see how long this takes, so the post will be dated. Whoever first leaves a comment, please date it. If we ever get to 5000 on the post, date the last one if you remember!

Leave any comments you like on any topic, but remember: I have full veto power, and I can delete anything I choose to. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *evil grin*

By the way: please include a subject line when starting a new thread in the comments section. It makes my job of sifting through emails so much easier. :D

Edit on Wednesday, 2 February 2005 @ 10:50 PM We're done! Yay! :D For Farrah's friends who want to see this for themselves, it's now public. ;)

Edit on Tuesday, 31 May 2011 @ 8:05 PM [livejournal.com profile] matt1993 wants to get this up to the newer limit of 10,000 comments.
