I showered and then had to do MORE laundry on the third floor because my grey sweatshirt somehow got damp from laying it on the carpet!

Edit at 12:10 AM - Paulo came over at 11:55, and has already found TWO dead mice on glue traps in the corner! No wonder I smelled something decomposing last week! I also got him to replace my old shower curtain from 2010 or so, since it had mold. We talked about the Canadian coronavirus cases, and there are a lot in Quebec and Ontario! There are definitely ten cases at Richmond Hospital, from what he's been told! Everything has indeed been shut down - not even the families can visit because they'll go outside and pick up germs, which won't be very good for those patients! He recommended I replace my Splashee Softee taupe bath mat since the tread seems to be gone, and I might slip. Probably a good idea for the future! I should have gotten him to check the other corner, but things seem okay right now. I definitely had rubber gloves, Kleenex, plastic bags, and a garbage bag at the ready! When he left just now, I thanked him.

I went out at 10:20 AM to get some Silk almond milk (the real reason I went to the store), NEW Tostitos Homestyle Salsa tortilla chips / NEW Que Pasa Twist of Lime chips / Heluva Good! French Onion dip to prepare for Chips and Dip Days tomorrow (Sunday) and Monday, 400 more Mead index cards, on-sale Hazelnut / Peanut Butter M and Ms, and a $2 Fry's Peppermint Cream bar. My Tostitos Homestyle Salsa tortilla chips did not exist in the self-checkout (they had to override it with a FOOD code)... and a lady just yelled at the 401 bus driver for "not stopping" when we are all supposed to board at the back doors now... I got home at 11:05 on a 407, at least.

MORE COFFEE TIME! IT IS LEAP YEAR 2020 TODAY! The Canucks played the Leafs today at 4, and lost 4-2... DAMN EMPTY-NET GOALS AND MY BIRTHDAY BUDDY AUSTON MATTHEWS! Eric Ho confirmed yesterday via text that he was coming over, and also called me at 12:10 to iron out some details, so YAY! I got him to pick up a 24-pack of Nestlé Pure Life bottled water from Price Smart on the way since I was running out. He got here at 2:15, so that was good. We talked about the parking pass / my spare keys, the skyrocketing coronavirus news, Nathan being overseas right now, the 2001 version of THE MUMMY RETURNS with Brendan Fraser, Jeremy, washing hands, my Ontario trip, the bacon quiche / Reser's mashed potatoes / meat lasagna / macaroni and cheese / Peanut Butter Pie Oreos / Mackie's Crispy Bacon chips / Mackie's haggis and cracked black pepper chips, the Lindt / Nutter Butter I gave him in a Ziploc bag, and David Ayres the Zamboni driver. He also called "coronavirus" SARS, and called the Alcan aluminum foil "cling wrap - you know what I mean." Not really or not at first, but he's still a good friend of mine!

Also discussed Jann Arden / a halftime show, 2011 and the Boston Pizza name change, HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA, my slipper socks / high heels bag / Boston Pizza gift card from Ruth and Joan, Carey Price / Patrick Roy (possible) trades / the trade deadline activity on Monday, ICBC driver premiums and car insurance, whether I caught any of Sedin Week, and the 9-3 Boston Bruins blowout the other night. Conversed about his smelling my hot sauce, the playoffs, Jim Hughson, his not preferring to drive during sunset / twilight hours, a cow in a plane for a THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR movie scene with Jet Li, and Don Cherry's podcast / being fired, the Juno Awards, the Simpsons controversy, Apu, and Krusty the Clown before he left at 6:40 after a disappointing Leap Day / Leap Year LOSS! DAMN EMPTY-NETTERS! Sure, I'll collect my empty bottles for him to redeem somewhere if he offered! Of course he did the dishes WITHOUT COMPLAINING!

The ceremony was awesome - John Shorthouse, Dave Nonis, Markus Naslund, Trevor Linden, Mike Gillis, Marc Crawford, Alex Burrows, Jannik Hansen, and so many others! After I had DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, the handyman came by at 11:30 to install the brand-new toilet float valve - YES! I don't care if it takes 90 seconds to fully refill the toilet (tank) now, because at least it works! Better than Hester lecturing me about "flush the toilet tenderly and not with a boom boom boom"... whatever THAT means!

Barry picked me up at 12 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got All-Dressed / Salt and Vinegar / BBQ / Ranch Crispers, on-sale Silk almond milk / chocolate milk, JOY dumplings x5, Dare Foods Limited chocolate cookie chips, on-sale Cottonelle toilet paper x2, Campbell's mushroom soup x5, NEW Miss Vickie's Signatures chips (Hickory Smoked Salt), on-sale Stouffer's microwaveable meals x2 (Chicken Alfredo / Homestyle Pot Roast), and on-sale Western Family frozen vegetables.

Also bought an on-sale Gizella Pastry assorted cheesecake (mango / New York / strawberry / blueberry), Western Family dill pickle chips, Western Family ripple chips, mini Chantilly Choux cream puffs (POPPIES!), NEW Activia strawberry / vanilla / peach yogurts, and NEW on-sale Ben and Jerry's Salted Caramel Almond ice cream. After that, I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online when I got home at 1:15. EARLY! I also managed to go to the dumpster and throw out the light Sunbeam toaster oven which I haven't used for the year I've had it, AND was taking up counter space in the kitchen. Suck on THAT, Hester! :P

Then I went to London Drugs at 7:05 on a 401 to get NEW on-sale Hazelnut M and Ms, on-sale Almond M and Ms, a green tea Kit Kat, NEW Cadbury Curly Wurly chocolate, on-sale Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream, and 400 Mead index cards before returning home on the same 401 at 7:25. The bus driver said that I'd been fast - yes, I like bus efficiency AND ice cream not melting when it's humid outside! When I got in, my phone "ding=donged" at me - turned out to be Corey on LINE. After COFFEE TIME, I had to go out at 4:10 on a 407 for a Kwong Chow dinner. Since I was out anyway, I bought three pairs of London Naturals foam scour sponges, a Snapple half and half iced tea / lemonade for aspirin purposes, and a bag of 20 KitKat chocolate mini-bars for National Chocolate Day for Ayler and Hiero at London Drugs. We had fish congee, spicy tofu triangles, a different kind of Chinese fish, pork intestines with pickled vegetables, green beans with spicy beef, half a chicken, and tomato fried rice with red sauce / white sauce / shrimp / pork for dinner. Ayler tried his first pork intestine since he was curious about them, and chewed through half of it before deciding he didn't like them that much. Hiero didn't want to try one at all.

Beckett was in a high chair and screaming happily. He was being shielded from the "evil" TV, and the family made care plans for this week. The boys seemed to like their Seattle trip, even if one of them dumped a plastic dinosaur down the toilet this morning at the AirBnB! They told us about the monorail, the water table at the Children's Museum, the chocolate shop, the $25 per person baseball game with hot dogs, Pike Place Market being really crowded, and more. Seemed like a fun trip for sure! The kids wanted to race on our way to their house, but that wasn't a good idea right after dinner! I apparently have to wait for the lards' call on Wednesday morning - no melatonin the night before, PLUS coffee and the phone on then, before going to Aberdeen and Parker Place!

I finally got home at 8:05 on a 401, and no, I did NOT want to be dropped off at 49th instead of 41st simply because it was easier for Mom. Even Dad was annoyed! Mom also wants to NOT pay for three pairs of reading glasses instead of "just two since it would be too expensive" - if she balks at that, I'm sure she's not going to like the cost of any proposed Invisalign! Sorry, Sean...

After COFFEE TIME, a German Shaw technician came by at 11:35 AM with a replacement cable box / new PVR box / new remote control / new modem / advice. (calling my HOME number 15 minutes beforehand to see whether I was home... WHAT DO YOU THINK?!) When he left at 12:15 after also setting up my wi-fi network on my cellphone, I took a much-needed shower and did some much-needed laundry!

In the evening, Dylan came by at 6:55 PM to help me buy a new microwave at London Drugs. He did call me first at 6:25 to advise me that he was at Walmart doing some stuff, then would come by here. We talked about his Great Value red curry chips, Declan and Elysse's swimming lessons, NOT defrosting meat in the microwave because it won't cook evenly and will be all frozen in the middle ("SEE?! NO ONE BELIEVES ME!"), his stressful day at work, parking, and the heavy bulky stuff. Came back home at 7:30 after I selected a new black RCA 1.1 cubic foot microwave oven for $99.99 plus tax (so about $117.60) - yes, that was definitely going on my savings account! Good thing I checked my bank balances BEFORE going out - that Panasonic inverter microwave from Robert was at least twice the price from Robert. I know why Mike insisted on it - because of his own image problems!

Then I heard that the St. Louis Blues had won the 2019 Stanley Cup against the nasty Bruins! Makes me feel better about 2011, for sure! I told Paulo to bookmark these microwave oven cooking conversion charts as well. He was at the gym, but came by at 9:35 to pick up the Danby Designers 700-watt microwave. Yes, having a free backup is nice, but I like to pay favors forward when I can. It just rarely happens in two and a half hours! Like I had thanked Dylan, Paulo thanked me - it's a cycle! :D

My parents are on a cruise and didn't let me know, so I wasted my time calling them to get their voicemail multiple times yesterday! Then Dad emailed me to say that they could call me from the shore at 8:30, but then emailed me again at 8 to say that they were still on the ship. Since I don't want to deal with stressful and inconvenient phone calls in the morning when I'm trying to shower and get out the door, I just PMed Brian about it instead since Paulo said he could be good for this sort of thing. To be fair, we had discussed it yesterday just in case. Thank goodness for friends since he agreed to do this for me! He doesn't even have to stay for the entire four hours! I also got to text Pothead Mike for the first time, so YAY! (and talked to Jon via FB Messenger for a bit about the surgery and other things)

I called Dr. Wise's office at 11:15 because I'd run out of the Prolensa and Simbrinza eyedrops, and I'm starting to really feel a difference. I had to rest today because my eyes felt really weird like they did right after surgery. Luckily, I could pick them up this afternoon (being a Friday) before they closed at 4. I got there at 2:10 or so, and even got them to open ALL the ridiculously tiny eyedrops bottles x4 for me! PHEW!

On my way home, I just missed a Brighouse train from Yaletown-Roundhouse (where I FINALLY found the elevator to bypass the stairs), so I took a Waterfront train to stay on there so I could go to Broadway Station. I went to No Frills where I was confused by the self-checkout machine, which is nothing new. At least I got help! Bought three pounds of Parkay margarine (which I haven't bought since April 25, 2018?!) and President's Choice Kettle-Cooked Jalapeno chips. I stopped by the pharmacy next door after getting off a 401 at 3:40, and also refilled my birth control pills prescription. Everything is done - YAY!

Then Eric Ho FINALLY emailed me back to say that he's glad my eye surgery and recovery are going well, and we can get together around February 26 or a little later. Does he not know what an expiry date or deadline for the Boston Pizza Online offer is?! I want my free Bandera Pizza Bread, dammit! I'll just splurge and order delivery tonight since I somehow have more extra money in my bank account... I don't trust him to not come over before the offer expires. I eventually settled on a medium BBQ chicken pizza (which I haven't had since September 2016), a medium Meateor pizza for 50% off (which I haven't had since the last time I had pizza in August 2018 for Chinese Eric's birthday), and my free Bandera Pizza Bread with dips and cheese. There was a fire alarm at about 1 PM, so I threw away fuzzy socks with holes in them, and got proper woolly socks / a thin toque / a winter coat because I thought it was going to be a false fire alarm as usual. Nope, it was actually the first REAL fire scare since I've lived here in 2000! Some idiot neighbor left a plastic baby bottle on the stove, went out at 11, and stuff started burning at 11:30 or so. WHY WOULD YOU NOT CHECK TO SEE THAT THE STOVE IS OFF BEFORE GOING OUT FOR THE DAY?!

Firemen and police and standing around outside in the cold for three hours before we were allowed back in at 3:55 after the fan and air quality... thank goodness that I am okay, as well as my stuff. I guess I should get that Square One insurance! At least it wasn't six hours, but still... the neighbor got back and saw the aftermath including a busted-out balcony, so I hope she learns!

After COFFEE TIME, I left at 2 to catch the C94 for my appointment with Rachel at The Caring Place. Afterwards, I took the 410 to Big Crazy so I could spend $35 on Knorr (extra) hot and sour soup x5 which expires in late January 2019, a slightly smaller 30-centimeter silver metal colander to replace the too-big metallic one from March 2018, a matching metallic silver mixing bowl to replace the pink plastic bowl with pink colander from Mom in April 2014, a premium Shin Ramyun Black spicy Pot-Au-Feu noodle pack, and Sapporo Ichiban chicken noodles. Nothing that would melt in the hot weather - I also just managed to get the 410 after leaving the store - NICE! I think it's amusing that I'm mentioning Teunis and Krista in the same post since they used to go out with each other and are now exes, haha. :D

After MORE COFFEE TIME, I went out at 6:15 to mail Lisa's Twisted Whiskers goldfish in martini birthday card to her at the London Drugs post office. Then I went to the Richmond Centre Dining Terrace food court (eating some food first - vegetable chow mein, mixed vegetables, pepper steak, and slightly spicy Kung Pao chicken from Kung Pao Wok) to meet up briefly with Teunis so to return a Christmas-themed envelope with Teunis's name on it, plus a Percy Jackson and Olympians: The Lightning Thief DVD box. At least, I intended it to be briefer than it was. He brought his wife and child (Rochelle and Heidi) from Burnaby, and we both got closure on what happened in 2011, which is nice. Discussed his not talking to Jasmine anymore (good!), understanding, being stressed out, no online following (which is totally fine), vegetables, his treating me to a mango oolong bubble tea with small pearls from Fair Bee Bubble Tea (I was too fast for him when it came to dinner food!), and my nephews.

We also talked about their Vietnamese food with sauces and shrimp salad rolls, Heidi wanting to give me her used plastic cutlery, his meeting Mike once briefly, our lives now, shaking hands, web design, Heidi's impatience / thinking it was Metrotown with the train for kids / liking all the lights, the Canucks, Vikings, my learning the importance of non-rushed alone time / non-emergencies, and a floor plan of the mall. I got home with leftovers at 8:20 on a 407, which is good because it was still light out. At least he says that it's good to see I'm doing much better, and I can say the same for him as well.

From Julie: A dragon refining a castle with his breath!

From Krista: Cloud water dragon with a green imp and trees!

I got up at 5:45 AM - UGH! COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT! Teunis emailed me back to wonder about the nearby mall's hours - maybe he means Richmond Centre, I don't know. He's also one of those weird people who refers to his wife as his partner, but I can deal with that. I found an old spiderweb by the bathroom, so I got two Kleenexes to scoop it up before flushing that down the toilet. Then I put my bath mat through the washing machine, which seemed to be fine afterwards: I didn't even have to dry the thing since it wasn't overly wet later! Then I protected myself with a scarf, rubber gloves, and plastic bag against a mousetrap with.... wood shavings and a very old tiny gingerbread man on it. Okay then. That's enough housecleaning for today!

From The Mirror: Mardy Fish was a tennis player?!

glowing_dragon: (OMFG Yay!)
I had a headache today and had to abandon my Tomato Alfredo lunch in favor of a nap at 12. At least I felt better at 3! Then I got email: Jon thinks that there's a family dinner on Monday at their place. Apparently, there's going to be a lunch tomorrow at the lards' place with Steph, Lisa, and Fraser. I can't take that much family time! Gotta figure out when the FOOD STREAM is on Cuya's Twitch first!

From Julie: RAINY is a human name?!

From Youtube: Kenia Monge?! (pronounced "Kenya Mon-hey")

[livejournal.com profile] lilaznffairy421 and I have decided to see if we can reach the maximum number of comments on a post, which is currently set at 5000. (I guess the previous limit of 60,000-something was way too much.. probably caused the servers to crash, burn, and explode!)

We're not members of [livejournal.com profile] _commentwhores, so no worries there. If you want to help us reach that comment limit on this post, go ahead! (I thought of not allowing anyone else to comment, but that didn't promote a spirit of togetherness)

It will be interesting to see how long this takes, so the post will be dated. Whoever first leaves a comment, please date it. If we ever get to 5000 on the post, date the last one if you remember!

Leave any comments you like on any topic, but remember: I have full veto power, and I can delete anything I choose to. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *evil grin*

By the way: please include a subject line when starting a new thread in the comments section. It makes my job of sifting through emails so much easier. :D

Edit on Wednesday, 2 February 2005 @ 10:50 PM We're done! Yay! :D For Farrah's friends who want to see this for themselves, it's now public. ;)

Edit on Tuesday, 31 May 2011 @ 8:05 PM [livejournal.com profile] matt1993 wants to get this up to the newer limit of 10,000 comments.
