I went out with a Miniso face mask at 12:30 on a 407. Went to Lansdowne T and T with my Asian old lady shopping cart to see if I could get a box of 50 face masks for $31. After lining up for 20 minutes because the line snaked around the market area of Lansdowne Mall, I FINALLY got inside with a temperature scanner check (which was fine) and managed to get a box from Customer Service. Since I was there anyway, I checked out the noodle aisle. I got Samyang Buldak Topokki noodles x2 and NEW Samyang Buldak Corn noodles x2 / Samyang Buldak Kimchi chicken terrorist noodles x2. My cart was already plenty full and bulky by the time I left at 1, but I decided to walk to Price Smart anyway, where the lineup moves MUCH FASTER! I got Fanny Bay oysters (May 5), Snack Pack vanilla pudding (May 22), plus NEW Snack Pack DRAGON TREASURE and UNICORN MAGIC puddings. Decided to get a NEW on-sale Aero Gold chocolate bar, a NEW on-sale Kit-Kat Gold chocolate bar, NEW Crave microwaveable meals (Bacon and Egg Scramble with Cheddar Cheese, and Chorizo Egg Scramble with Goat Cheese), and NEW limited-edition Tiramisu Oreos.

After that, I went home at 2:45 on a 407 to rest for a bit before going to London Drugs at 6:30. Planters BBQ peanuts (May 16), Pure Standards Products hydrogen peroxide, Arm and Hammer baking soda, on-sale organic Classico tomato garlic pasta sauce for the same $4 price as regular (sale ends May 27), a small Reese's Pieces (May 18), NEW Orange Vanilla Coke (May 8), NEW LaRose hand sanitizer for the same $4 price as regular, Tao Kae Noi wasabi seaweed snacks, Fudge Swirl Lindt truffles for tomorrow (May 2), and Aroy-D green curry for my Uncle Ben's jasmine rice. Got home at 7:25, which is fine by me.

After I showered, I went out at 1:25 on a 407 with my Asian old lady shopping cart to do some banking and go grocery shopping. The sidewalk is closed by Brighouse Station because of the loop construction, and Shoppers and Price Smart both have lineups to get inside in the name of social distancing and limiting the number of people! I got Krinos Athena salt x3 for $3 at London Drugs, where they've shut down all cash registers (I think) and two of the infernal self-checkout machines. Then I had to navigate the sidewalk closure and answer a couple of basic travel-related questions at Royal Bank before I was allowed inside to use the far ATM. Even if I knew anyone who had been outside of Canada lately, it's not like I'm seeing them!

Then I went to Price Smart, where there was also a lineup to get inside. Bought NEW No Joke / Solar Flare / Blueberry Plague / Momento de Muerte hot sauces x4 from Pepper North Artisan Foods, GOOD TASTE dumplings x5 (pork and celery / pork and chive / beef and vegetable / cabbage and chicken / cabbage and pork), on-sale Western Family regular soy sauce (carefully opening it in the store first), Maggi Kari Letup noodles, NEW Ottogi Jin Ramen Odong Tong Myon noodles in Spicy Seafood Udon flavor, Doll shrimp wonton ramen noodles, NEW Miss Vickie's Signatures Black Truffle and Parmesan chips, original Western Family chili, and Allen's Malt Vinegar x2. Plastic bags are temporarily free, while you can't bring your reusable bag inside because they're trying to stop the spread of coronavirus. After that, I left because my shopping cart was getting too heavy. I paid my Shaw bill online after getting home at 4 on a 407 and wiping things down, then went out to Price Smart again at 6:30 on a 401 whose bus driver AGAIN didn't see my cart because of the sunlight.

The lineup wasn't too bad and it moved faster at 6:40, which is fine by me. I bought NEW AG Blue Label concentrated household bleach (3.6 litres!), Puritan Irish Stew for St. Patrick's Day 2021, on-sale NEW Goldfish Grahams x2 (Chocolate Brownie / Vanilla Cupcake), on-sale NEW Western Family HOT salsa x2 (which the jar opener DID work on!), NEW Oikos Hint of Banana lactose-free yogurt, Western Family prune nectar / prune juice, on-sale Charmin triple toilet paper, and NEW zinc Jamieson Vitamins x2. Of course I took advantage of the hand sanitizer at a checkout when I left the store, nodding at the masked security guard at the exit. Finally got home at 7:45 thanks to a slightly late 407, and now Paulo wants to get some of that hot sauce!

Ayler called me briefly at 6, but I had to scramble to get my reading glasses in order to read the Caller ID, so I missed it. When I called them back immediately afterwards, the phone was busy! I checked my text messages instead, in hopes of getting ones from yesterday. There was one from Barry saying that the Pathways office was no longer open, so sorry, but he couldn't help me with my shopping trip on Wednesday, but hopes I am well and keeping cautiously safe. No direct contact is allowed, as I thought... not sure how he would work from home with that job, but if my sister can do it with writing RCMP reports...

Then Dad asked about my food situation - I said it was fine, as they should NOT show up here under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Eric Ho said that he wouldn't come by for a while, as per my wishes, and has constantly-changing shifts at work. They haven't closed down the art gallery yet?! He says that the NHL might have a 24-team playoff format. Interesting! I'd never heard THAT! He's right that we have lots more time now to watch stuff on Youtube!

I finally called the kids back twenty minutes later, and Hiero said they'd called me "many times" today - three times, according to his brother! Then Ayler said that they'd had pork for dinner to gain weight to help them, asked me why I wanted to call every few days, said that his dad could make banana bread for me (maybe when this is over), and asked what I did today. (watching Youtube videos, I told him) Hiero asked if I was still sleeping when they called me at 9:15 AM - YES! Then he said that they called a lot of people today: their grandparents, Myles, Holly, Peter, Evander, Everett, and even Jeremy! Ayler said that Jeremy had more connections than I did - I guess so. He hung up on me, so I called him back to see what was up, and to make sure he knew that the playgrounds were closed - "they are, right?" Definitely! We ended with a BYE!

After COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 9:40 AM for my 10:15 AM eye clinic appointment. As usual, I waited a while to be seen, and got out at 11:25. They had a black chick doing the eye exams, who admitted she was new AND didn't read my file, AND "had" to dilate my pupils, AND didn't bother sanitizing the surfaces while I was in there! Her excuse was that she did it after each patient. Fuck that shit! YUCK! Why would you not do that in patient view, like Elizabeth does?!

Of course I brought it up to Dr. Wise as soon as I could see her, forgetting to ask about any reading glasses prescriptions. Damn people making me sound like a Karen! My next appointment is in a year since she says my eyes still look very healthy and normal. I got Barry to drop me off at Richmond Centre later since I had to get thank-you cards for Steph (a dog which totally looks like Havarti!) / Ruth / Joan, a froggy Valentine's Day card for Fraser and Henry, on-sale Fritos Hoops for Sunday's dinner, and what I THOUGHT were scratch-and-sniff pizza stickers at Shoppers. They turned out to be kiddy Valentine's Day cards! Fuck that dilation shit, indeed! Got home at 1:05 on a 407 to do some greeting card prep, and found out that the I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER margarine has an expiry date of January 18. I COULD HAVE GOTTEN IT EARLIER! At least I have some time for that, but STILL!

Just in time for a daily update! Before Paulo came over to pick up his stuff four minutes ago, I took a shower today. I gave Paulo his All-Bran Buds portion in a Rubbermaid microwaveable container (plus the packaging for that), one pack of Kwangchun Healthful roasted seaweed, some Mala Samyang noodles, regular Samyang Fire noodles, MyKuali spicy prawn Penang noodles, MyKuali spicy white curry Penang noodles, MyKuali Red Tom Yum Goong noodles, Sapporo Ichiban Tonkotsu ramen noodles, Vedan Bah Kut tea noodles, Vedan mushroom and artificial cuttlefish noodles, Vedan spicy Korean kimchi noodles, Vedan spicy mushroom noodles, Samyang Carbo Cheese noodles, Samyang Spicy Cheese noodles, and Paldo Korean Bul Jjamppong noodles - all in the LOQI reusable bag with cats on it that Jon and Harmony gave me for Christmas last year. I have tested it out; it's just not as roomy as the ones from London Drugs!

He was pretty excited, dancing around like a little kid! Yes, we both forgot about opening the Winter Creek oyster jar until he'd left, but I was luckily able to grab him before he had exited the building! He apologized for the lateness of the intrusion, but it's fine. LUCKILY, it was BEFORE midnight and I wasn't talking to Mike at the time. He also thought some MOTHER 3 music was some water boiling - if it sounds like THAT, then you got problems! It's the high notes of the jukebox!

I went to the eye clinic at 9:45 on a 401 (which I got just in time) for the six-week followup today at 10:45 after COFFEE TIME (20/30 vision is a good improvement even if I can't read fine print), then had lunch at Yaohan before seeing Rachel at the Caring Place for the last time. At Brighouse, I encountered a rude wheelchair old man idiot who assumed I was cutting him off at the fare gates - nope, I'm just faster than you, and other people also have places to go! He should also watch what he says and isn't the only person entitled to the fare gates. Any empathy I might have had for him having only one leg was just drained in that moment.

Dr. Wise recommended cheap reading glasses for now since my eyes still look healthy, and wants me to come back in six months on January 3. I went to Yaohan and killed the memory dragon of messaging people on the 6 Davie / 6 Downtown bus routes. Got beef internal noodles with wonton for lunch, and Lays lime chips / Lays cucumber chips in big bags for Rachel, Campbell's mushroom soup x2, a NEW on-sale Double-Ridged Lays chips package in Spicy Chicken and BBQ Pork (two each), MyKuali Penang Red Tom Yum Goong noodles, and NEW MyKuali spicy prawn noodles at Osaka Supermarket.

After the wrap-up session, I briefly went to Shoppers to buy on-sale Ben and Jerry's IF I HAD A MILLION FLAVORS and PEANUT BUTTER HALF-BAKED ice cream for Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day on July 1 coming up! No more frozen items until I eat some - the freezer can't fit anything else except air molecules! Got home at 4:25 on a 407, which is totally fine. Then I took a shower and discovered that Jon had made a reservation under his name at the Lion's Den for Randal's birthday on Sunday at 6. Nice!

COFFEE TIME! The Canucks played the Canadiens at 4:30 today, and lost 2-0. UGH!


Lucas, Kumatora, Duster, and Boney have defeated New Fassad in the Saturn Valley volcano in Chapter 7 of MOTHER 3. BEFORE checking the pile of rubble at the exit of Saturn Valley, they go into the house with the totem pole. They talk to the Mr. Saturn in front of the totem pole. "Sprinkle water on floor?"




Lucas, Kumatora, Duster, and Boney have defeated Master Eddy in Chapter 7 of MOTHER 3. They've landed on Tanetane Island, SAVED THE GAME [IMPORTANT before fighting the Zombieshroom!], and want to go back in the ocean. "Going back into the ocean would be even MORE dangerous." Oh yeah, because they don't have any items and have 1 HP and 0 PP each! Time to get high on some funky mushrooms!

Steph said that the Easter card and stickers arrived on Thursday, so YAY FOR THAT! COFFEE TIME! The Canucks played the Stars at 4 today, and won 4-1; Tyler Mott had his first (empty-net) goal as a Canuck!
