2019 Year In Review! / Pictures with Satan in Comox and Courtenay!

THIS ENTRY IS ALLOWED TO HAVE NON-ALIGNED TAGS.

[Meme fun: Take the first line from the first post of every month of the year. Repost it here as your year in review. (I'm discounting greetings and things like that :P) Yeah, it's been an interesting year!]

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of the year. Post the first line of it in your journal as a paragraph, and that's your "Year In Review."

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND 2019, EVERYONE! Heard from Jana in CANUCK NATION that racist Stuart has three kinds of cancer (liver / colon / something else) and is currently in Langley hospice - karma works in good ways! I went shopping, having to walk to London Drugs because the endless construction and sewer upgrades have made the nearby bus stops non-operational. I went out at 12:30 for shopping purposes at London Drugs, so I walked there. Barry called to see if I was fine with changing our food shopping appointment on the 22nd to 11:30 instead of 11. I went out at 3:10 on a 407 (which luckily picked me up at the sidewalk) for shopping purposes.

I went out at 2 on a 401 to get Rubbermaid Take-Along containers and on-sale pads x2 at London Drugs, getting home at 2:20 on a 407. After my intake session with Rishu at Touchstone at 3 (leaving at 2:20 on a 401), I went shopping at the Dollar Tree / London Drugs / Big Crazy after killing time at the Richmond Public Market beforehand. Today's date is a palindrome: 9/1/19! Beckett crawled over to me to say hi - CUTE! AMERICAN GREETINGS STICKERS, HOT CHOCOLATE, CANDY, SCISSORS, and TEA! SHORTBREAD, MULTIVITAMINS, CHRISTMAS DISH SOAP, AND COUGH DROPS!

From Reddit and This is True: Downtown Courtenay and the Comox Valley in BC offered pictures with SATAN for Christmas 2019?!

After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 4 on a 407 to hopefully make it on time to Do Chay Vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant at Kingsway and Knight. The Brighouse stops have changed because of some construction for a new bus loop - will we ever get to use it? (old Richmond Centre stop is a block back - the Brighouse stop is the old 410 stop) I got there at 5, so killed time by going to the crowded Dollar Tree. I should have just gone into Save-On Foods because I almost killed myself going out of the store since their outside lighting left a lot to be desired. THE STAIRS AND RAMP SHOULD BE LIT UP! I eventually walked back a block to the Save-On, where I bought Teriyaki Noodles Sidekicks and Allen's Malt Vinegar before taking advantage of their wifi connection to copy-paste a NON-MMS text message to Mike into Hangouts instead, and catch up on Youtube comments. No, idiot, you can't police public comments and say "normal" people can't hijack others OR wish staph on me! BAD SOCIAL CUES!

I STILL got to the restaurant first, but hoped that Jon had reserved a table when he wouldn't answer my text messages. Hiero came in a couple of minutes later with Mom, Dad, and a wheeled small suitcase. Dad showed me how the luggage handle worked (push down / pull up), got me to try it out, and gave me some tiny keys which weren't for me. Geez, they're going to set off alarms at the airport! Apparently, they're NOT driving me to the airport anymore - WHAT THE FUCK?! Ayler asked me how many pounds I weighed, only to be shot down by various people.

We talked about monsoon rolls, their running out of coffee, the pub down the street KNOWING they get busy and send people there to wait, tomorrow's plans (Harmony's parents are coming by - so I MIGHT come on Friday if I let her know by Thursday evening), Harmony working on Friday, Beckett liking to look at all the lights, satay noodles, spicy soup noodles, Ayler asking the server about how busy the restaurant gets on weekends (I said he had a question... A TWO-HOUR WAIT?!), Steph meeting Mark Messier, and Dad's choir tonight. It was definitely cold outside when we left at 7:15 or so! I got home at 8:05 on a 407, thanks to Jon and Harmony driving me to King Edward Station. Ayler and Hiero thanked me for my Christmas gifts - I still have time to give Beckett the stuffed Santa dog, I think. The Canucks played Philadelphia at 4, and lost 2-1.

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: President's Choice jalapeno cheddar popcorn, a yellow-green Roots knapsack or backpack to "replace" my reusable bags from London Drugs, two Paderno steak knives, small Cuisinart scissors, a 100 Yen coin, grey Touch Gloves mittens, a Gildan black T-shirt with a golden dragon, an Asian notebook, an embossed pink rose journal, and two random spiral notepads. Mike would be jealous of the Doge bag!

After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 2:40 on a 401 to a sick Jeremy's for Jon's birthday dinner since Eric could give me a ride home after UBC hockey and helping in the kitchen. I bought on-sale Knorr Sidekicks in Chicken and Broccoli rice and pasta / Homestyle Cheddar / Chicken Fried Rice, some high-visibility fluorescent yellow-green stickers and slap bracelet straps from Dollar Land (FINALLY!), some 100 mL Vaseline lotion in the yellow tube for Ontario from Shoppers Drug Mart, and a small bag of NEW on-sale Takis Outlaw snacks from Buy-Low for the Gwei-Lo at Kingsgate Mall since I got there at 3:20. I managed to get to Jeremy's at 4:35 after cutting through Dude Chilling Park, and Ayler wasn't even there yet to lock me out like he did last year! Eric sent me a text while I was there to ask if I was here yet... crazy! I did give him his Windel Advent calendar and Delecto dark chocolate assortment, and gave Jeremy his Windel Advent calendar too.

The kids got there a while later; Harmony said she was glad I was there already because then I could help her watch Beckett and take him from Jesse later on when he needed a break. Yeah, I let him look at the big screen for a minute - that's not going to get him addicted! Jeremy said there were some unsafe things for babies behind the chairs - yes, I could see wires! Beckett toddled around and wanted to turn off the computer, which Ayler thought was a touchscreen again. I let Beckett touch my fuzzy purple Alia winter coat, go up on the couch (but NOT touch the Japanese painting), hold my hands as he walked around, spout gibberish about the glass table (he can see the carpet!) and point at the lights and new things, and give me all the beer coasters a few times over.

Yes, he could throw those around if he wanted to, but NOT the candles or anything else! NOT SUITABLE PROJECTILES! He was also eventually curious about Jeremy's beard, like Ayler and Hiero had been. Ayler was smart and knew that I would have Advent calendars for them. He has a bonus dragon book since HE is a DRAGON too! The Santa stuffed dog was in my bag later when I got home, but I can give it to Beckett before my trip. Hiero wanted to be Batman or Superman in front of everyone.

I was civil and polite to Raymond when he was in the way and admiring Jeremy's bookshelf while I wanted to get my UTHER book from my bag to show Trish later, and also when I handed him some dishes that needed to be washed. Caught up with Caleb (I saw his uncle William recently!), Becky, Alice, Jeremy, Randal, Jesse, Trish, Lanie, and Christon for sure. (Ayler's math prowess / the Japanese soldier who refused to surrender until his commanding officer said so / my upcoming trip / writing / Jacob's Well / SERVANTS / the Spain honeymoon / buying a new place and moving / a rice cooker / the microwave / Jeremy seeing Steph in the newspaper as a random RCMP officer and confirming with Jon)

I met Jon's friend Mallory, noticed that his friend Jay had a "scent" about him, and "met" his friends Chris and Mallory. Since we all had to leave an hour or so earlier because Jeremy was feeling under the weather (bad timing as he got sick from his co-workers yesterday!), Eric and I actually left at 9 or so! We talked about gluten-free ice cream sandwiches being good for his mom and brother, his staying home at Christmas, FIRE EMBLEM, and a raccoon being outside near the dumpster when we got to my place at 9:30. (it was a milk jug...)

After COFFEE TIME, I left at 3:05 on a 401 for my appointment with Dr. Ruby (which was not exactly informative - but I did get my prescription renewed), but I had to hurry back after wasting time at the Dollar Tree and Big Crazy after not being able to find Advent calendars or dumplings! I did go to Shoppers for on-sale Jamison Vitamin D3 gummies (almost half-price!), NEW Lindt Milk Mint / Hazelnut truffles, NEW Life brand echinacea x120, NEW Delecto assorted dark chocolates in a purple box, NEW Cheetos Snowflakes, and NEW Hot Cocoa Hershey's Kisses! The Canucks played Nashville today at 5, and won 6-3! FIVE POWER PLAY GOALS!

It's National Punctuation Day today... MY FAVORITE! After COFFEE TIME, I had to leave at 2 on a 401 and then a 410 (which I just got to on time, no thanks to idiots blocking my path on the sidewalk) for my appointment with Dr. Ruby before I helped with the kids. That was uncomfortable - I also saw a professional Audrey. Also, I had to buy more NEW Beehive Burst Peppermint lip balm at the Dollar Tree since there was no photo online that I could find, so I had to take my own photo. (I had ripped mine open last week before I figured this out...) I was there on time, but STILL had to wait 20 minutes to be seen! UGH! I should have gone to Dollar Tree before rather than after! Then I tried to speedwalk over to Lansdowne station a block and a half away, and just missed a Waterfront train thanks to these two slow ladies on the elevator going down.

When I got to Marine Drive station, I definitely needed a snack, so I went to Tim Horton's. Luckily, there was no lineup, so I got a non-sticky cheese tea biscuit and then got out of there to find that a wheelchair wanted to get on the 3 as well. Then a stroller wanted to get on - at least this one contained a fairly curious kid who growled and made various noises, unlike the other stroller who got on after that one left! After another delay caused by the driver stopping in the middle of the road for five minutes to check an alarm that was going off, I finally got to Mount Pleasant at about 4:20 when I could have been there at 4:05! Too many delays! Yeah, I used Term to complain to via text, haha.

Inside, Penny was just finishing up speech therapy while Beckett was failing at napping again. Almost right after Penny left, it was off to the park across the street because Harmony wanted to walk Beckett around the playground to see if he'd nap then. Spoiler alert: He did not. Ayler asked if I wanted to play tag or Manhunt - no, because I had run out of energy and was like a car which had run out of gas. Hiero asked why I walked how I did, so maybe Jon and Harmony should talk to him about it at some point. Once we got home again after more promises of consequences, I got to play with Beckett for a bit. He liked the baby pop-up toy because it made him laugh more than usual, wanted me to shake my head a lot because it was funny, liked PEEK-A-BOO as per Hiero, tried eating my DRAGON HOODIE strings again, and climbed on me a few times. (he did pull Hiero's hair, though!)

At the same time, Hiero was trying to show me his origami. Blowing up squares to make huge boxes, oh my! Later, I stayed close as Beckett crawled on the couch despite Ayler telling me not to let him do it. Well, you're doing and completing a HUGE connect-the-dots puzzle, so I'll do what I want while keeping Beckett safe in my own way, including trying to put on one of his missing socks. We had salmon, congee, Chinese chicken soup, meatballs with ketchup and barbecue sauce, some veggies, and ridiculous amounts of shredded pork. Then we talked about whether Jon had been shot today at the Downtown Eastside (he was fine and didn't have to lie on the floor as per Hiero's question), why people shoot at each other ("because some people think that the best way to resolve their problems is with guns" and "that's why we don't joke about guns"), my Cactus Club birthday dinner, Ayler seeing Brooke early this morning ("how do you know?"), Hiero doing flips and gymnastics in the elevator earlier and being injured, and how much everyone in the family could eat compared to each other.

After I washed dishes for a bit, I read to Hiero about Optimus Prime and the Decepticons, then listened to Ayler play a boogie on the piano before listening to him read a Level 2 story about polar bears. Sure I had to help him with some words, but that's normal. I left at 7:20, but couldn't get a 3 bus till 7:40 thanks to a couple of buses being out of service! I missed a Brighouse train by five minutes, and JUST managed to get a 407 at Brighouse, no thanks to people blocking my path where I was going to run to the front door of the bus. Do I really have to shove my way past other people all the time to get where I'm going in a timely fashion?! I got home at 8:35, checked my mail, and found Julie's birthday card plus random stuff - yay!

Random stuff: Nathan returning the OUTLANDER novel to me, six packs of Compliments Safeway brand spicy chicken instant noodles, and yet another pair of reading glasses. 9/16/19 is also a palindrome date! After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I had to leave at 2:15 to see Dr. Ruby at 2:45. Ugh, they can't just do a referral by phone?! I was confused when the 410 detoured way down Alderbridge instead of going on No. 3 Road - ugh, MORE construction! I encountered a nice friendly construction worker, though! At least I got another appointment next Tuesday afternoon for something else I've probably been putting off... I'll just do that and then go to Jon's, I guess.

I got home at 4:10 after seeing an inappropriate MOTHER'S birthday card at Dollar Tree while I was there buying NEW Beeswax Burst lip balm x3 (Creamy Vanilla / Wild Cherry / Peppermint), 35 birthday cards, and three wedding cards. The Canucks played Calgary twice today in Calgary and Victoria at 6 and 7 in their first games of the 2019-2020 NHL preseason, and also split. 3-2 win and 4-3 loss! I also showered today when I got home.

After my intake session with Rishu at Touchstone at 3 (leaving at 2:20 on a 401), I went shopping at the Dollar Tree / London Drugs / Big Crazy after killing time at the Richmond Public Market beforehand. I got Hunt's Snack Packs pudding cups x5 (vanilla / ice cream sandwich / butterscotch / lemon meringue pie / chocolate) at the Dollar Tree, Samyang Fire Noodles x2 (Carbo Cheese and Spicy Cheese - one each for Paulo) / Knorr hot and sour soup mix x5 at Big Crazy, plus butterfly and flower stickers for Nephew #3, Dove Nourishing Rituals shampoo and conditioner (Avocado Calendula and Coconut Lime), and PURELL hand sanitizer x2 at London Drugs. I finally got home at 5:55 on a 407, and had noticed several old ladies with SECURED shopping carts, so futzed around a little until I found the Velcro closure on mine at the end. SUCCESS! FINALLY SECURED MINE! Maybe the contents won't fall down anymore!

After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I went out at 4:10 on a 407 for Dad's belated 70th birthday dinner at Kwong Chow. I got a text from Jon saying that dinner was at 5:30 and they were at Granville Island (I'd already said I would be at Save-On), so I bought more (on-sale or NEW) Stagg Chili (Dynamite Hot / Southwest Chicken style) and Western Family things since Mom and Dad would be giving me a ride home anyway. Whole mushrooms, mushroom pieces and stems, hot chili con carne, original chili con carne, liquid honey, lemon juice, grated Italian Parmesan cheese, and beef / vegetable / chicken instant noodles! I still managed to get to the restaurant on time: Mom was already there and wanted me to call Jon to see if they'd left home yet. Luckily, I already knew their true whereabouts, and also knew that texting was easier than having to find a place to take a call. I always delete her voicemails, anyway. Too inconvenient...

They got to the restaurant soon enough (but not soon enough for Mom), and we ordered a while after that. Discussed the restaurant's plastic bowls NOT being for the congee (Mom...), my "stealing" an extra plate from the dish pile for Jon (which caused one of the kids to say that stealing is wrong - hahaha), music school being over, plans for tomorrow / this week, Ayler eating the fish head again, Beckett slapping the table and being blocked from the TV screen, Auntie Kwai and dementia (and Dad not wanting to take on another person), Dollarama, Summer Reading Club ("I read to you - but you read the words I don't know!"), Hiero trying some jellyfish, Holly's move impacting her taxes because she's an American citizen ($12,000?!), the growing tomato plants on the balcony, and waterslide adventures today with mint chocolate chip ice cream. We walked to Jon's place, where I learned that Beckett now knows how to climb up onto the couch. Guess I should be extra-vigilant tomorrow!

On the way home, Mom wanted me to intercede with Martin and Rich about Vacation Bible School and getting someone else to administer Ayler's medicine instead of Harmony having to travel a lot to VCEFC or wherever they'll be. Nope, I am not doing that. I'm sure Wai-Mui and the other leaders have more important things to take care of... at least I got home at 7:30 instead of maybe an hour later! Spicy tofu triangles, spicy jellyfish, green beans with beef, red bean soup, tea, kombucha tea, chicken, beef yee mein, veggie congee, fish congee - what a dinner! The usual stuff, but still good! Maybe not after I tried eating 600 grams of tortellini earlier, though...

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: A yellow sweet Korean melon, a random pair of yellow socks with "fun" designs, two Chinese posters of oxen / birds / dragons with stickers and five bookmarks, "washed Mom grapes" in a paper bag (purple grapes), a pack of four 32-page Hilroy exercise books from Staples, six Hilroy 80-page one-subject red and purple notebooks also from Staples, Korean Kwangchun Healthful roasted seaweed x10, and six cans of strawberry Milkis carbonated drinks. I took a shower, did some laundry, and had COFFEE TIME before Eric Ho texted me to cancel the BC Lions-Edmonton Eskimos hangout since he had to to stay at work till 7:30 or so. (he COULD say no, but maybe not!) "Are you coming? Yes or no." "Yeah, I have to stay a bit later, so text you later since I have to take a raincheck on the hangout." Fine, I'll just use my $10 off coupon by myself with no heavy things! I went to London Drugs first at 3:10 to get four DEFINITE big reusable bags (I only had four small ones?!), a dark green MARTEX bath towel, a shopping cart with a cooler bag ($54.99 to $24.99 SALE!), and two more London Naturals foam scour sponges.

Luckily, I was able to sort of tuck the cart under my arm and then waited for the bus home - got there at 4:05 on a 401. Later, I went to Price Smart with my $10 coupon at 5:35 on a 401. I got Halo Top birthday cake ice cream, NEW Sapporo Ichiban Tonkotsu ramen noodles, NEW Maynards Fuzzy Peach popsicles, NEW Maynards Swedish Berry popsicles, NEW Magnum white ice cream bars, NEW Magnum Double Cookies and Cream ice cream bars, NEW Magnum double cherry truffle ice cream bars, NEW Magnum Infinity Chocolate ice cream bars, NEW Magnum double raspberry ice cream bars, NEW Magnum strawberries and cream ice cream bars, BIG on-sale Lysol lemon wipes, Maggi curry noodles, and Olay cooling white strawberry and mint bar soap.

After COFFEE TIME, I had to go out at 11:20 to meet Mom and Dad for my new reading glasses and some lunch. Mom wondered why I didn't turn my cellphone on - why not save battery life if I don't NEED it on all day? She wasn't impressed when I told her that, but whatever! At home, I just use it to briefly check things like redundant Youtube notifications / Facebook messages and texts. When I'm out and about, it's a different story!

We had stew beef noodles, hot and sour soup, long Chinese dumplings (wo-teep), and siu long bao (soup dumplings) for lunch at Dinesty. Dad told me that she was slowing down, so I had to look after her - if I feel like it, maybe. Then we went to the nearby herbalist (whom she asked for dollar store intel when I'd already told her about Dollarama and Dollar Tree) - where I saw testicles apparently for sale - and Staples where Mom got a bunch of clearance stuff. No, I didn't want any of that even if she wanted to buy it for herself.

Mom also wanted to pay for my one pack of 12 blue Z-Grip Pens (January 17, 2019- the last one on the shelf) which I was going to pay for myself at the cash register. Then she played the martyr about it when they weren't the cheap kind ("why don't you get some other kind..."), but eventually paid for them. The next stop was the Dollarama at Lansdowne, where Mom paid for one pair of reading glasses, then stopped by the Smart n'Save for some crunchy Wah Yuen BBQ fried dough. Mom also almost killed herself by crossing the street too slowly at Lansdowne Mall with oncoming traffic - shades of Grandma! Later, we got one more pair of reading glasses at Dollar Tree before they finally dropped me off at home at 1:10 prior to helping Ayler and Hiero with swimming lessons.

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: two pairs of dollar store reading glasses (2.50 and 2.75 - NEEDED: 3.00), a small pack of Cadbury mini-eggs from the dollar store, a 12-pack of Z-Grip pens which I was going to pay for myself since we were at Staples anyway, Every Living Thing by James Herriot, a thin beige scarf, an ORGANICS FOR LIFE tote bag, a blue neck scarf, a thin white scarf, a knitted white hat which looks like a doily, a knitted black and brown hat, a black buttoned SEQUENCE coat, and a thin sky blue zippered Tabi vest.

Eric emailed me back to say that he could drive me to baby Beckett's dedication service on Sunday, but he has to be at church at 9:25 AM. That should be fine, I guess. After COFFEE TIME and seeing Rachel at the Caring Place at 2 on a 414, I took the 406 and 410 (just managed to get it!) to buy stuff. I got 28 birthday cards / HERSHEY'S Gold Peanuts and Pretzels 39g chocolate bar (which is already broken... CHOMP!) / a Laura Secord Chocolate Fudge 28g bar / Laura Secord Butter and Cream Fudge bar (all $1.25 for tiny things?! THAT MUST BE THEIR PROFIT!) from Dollar Tree. I got 壽桃 Sau Tao Mustard Green Duck vermicelli noodles x2 / Knorr hot and sour soup mix x5 which expires in May 2019 / Paldo (팔도 (Paldo)) Gomtang beef noodles x4 / Nissin sesame oil noodles x5 which expire in April 2019 from Big Crazy.

Then I purchased Heat Holders thermal socks (SOCKS ON SOCK DAY! WHAT A QUIRKY COINCIDENCE!), Black Friday on-sale store brand garlic pills which expire in May 2020, and NEW White Chocolate Peppermint M and M candy from London Drugs after taking the 410 back there. Somehow, ALL THAT took 90 minutes, despite the dollar store and Big Crazy being NEXT DOOR to each other, and London Drugs being a short bus ride away! People with a billion things in front of me at the store, I swear... I got home at 5:25 on a 401 through the construction zone, and noted the security guard sitting in the smoky-smelling front hall. The Canucks played Minnesota at 7 tonight, and lost 3-2... UGH!

Adam L. is off Facebook again - MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MIND! I left on a 2:10 C94 to see Rachel (emotional work!) at 2:30 after COFFEE TIME. At least I managed to reschedule our afternoon appointment on the 26th because of my retina exam at the specialist that morning. I'll have to show up extra early on the 29th because of the C94 bus scheduling! After all that, I went to Shoppers Drug Mart for a dozen peanut butter cookies with a generous expiry date of June 28 for bakery items, and then to London Drugs for NEW Jack Link's Jalapeno beef jerky and a new Pharma Systems pillbox since my current one from the dollar store is losing pills and opening the compartments by itself. At 11:10, I called Chrystal at work to see if we could set up a hangout time. Next Friday (the 6th) at 7:30 works for me! Then I went to Richmond Centre at 1 on a 407 to Kam Do Bakery for a slice of black forest cake, since it's National Black Forest Cake Day today. My next stop was Big Orange so I could get some mango bubble tea. Then I went to Payless Shoes so I could get NEW SNEAKERS because my current ones ALWAYS come untied, and it's very annoying! I also went to the dollar store, where I found FINDING NEMO and PEPPA PIG stickers: perfect for Fraser! Also bought a Canada shotglass, a Canucks decal, and a Canadian beaver magnet for souvenir purposes when Jimmy comes to Vancouver sometime. After getting off a 407 at 2:05, I went to the pharmacy next door to get my prescription. I was the youngest customer in there by at least 30 to 35 years!

IT'S APPRECIATE A DRAGON DAY! :D

I left at 2:30 on a 407 for my 3:10 appointment with Dr. Ruby. Since I was early, I went to Big Crazy to see if they had beef jerky. They did, so I bought another salmon jerky (for Paul) and extra-spicy beef jerky for myself, plus hot and sour soup mix x5 since I was there anyway. Then I went to the Dollar Tree to see if they had sizable bubble-wrap envelopes (they did not), and bought extra forks (which I've somehow lost) and a blank card for Cuya. Got my appointment done in an efficient manner, but waiting for the 410 was not ideal. Whatever - I went to customer service at London Drugs with my impossible hand sanitizer and its receipt, and the lady said I could just grab a new bottle and show that to her on my way out. PHEW! I got another bubble-wrap envelope from the post office, then showed the lady a new hand sanitizer before leaving to go to Boston Pizza.

I wandered in and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was Pasta Tuesday, so OF COURSE I ordered a jambalaya fettuccine for old times' sake! I really just wanted the table so I could write out Paul's info on the bubble-wrap envelope, but the food was a great incentive also! After eating and paying, I went back to the London Drugs to mail those black pepper salmon jerky boxes ($23?!) and get some on-sale Pecan Praline Turtles chocolate / a Ragusa Noir chocolate bar / Mega Blocks for Hiero's birthday present. Got home at 5:25 on a 407 - it was definitely a spendy day today, but I think it was worth it. Now Paul is saying that I'm so kind when he hasn't streamed in a month (like I know about that?), and Cuya is thanking me a lot while we discuss disability and personal things, both on Discord. OH YEAH! FRIENDS! :D

I left my place at 11:25 (after yelling at Jimmy over Facebook Messenger for the Festivus Airing of Grievances) to meet Kathy, Aaron, and Geoff at Tsawwassen Mills at 12:30. Not too bad - I just had to take the Canada Line to Bridgeport, then the 620 bus. I got there at 12:35, got lost in the Bass Pro Fishing shop (which Mike S. and Scott C. would like), waited for AN HOUR at the food court, and they STILL weren't there yet! (but I did meet a kid named Sawyer who asked what my name was, and whose friend "tied him up" with used dental floss which he'd tried offering me!) Determined NOT to waste my time, I remembered that I wanted to buy teaspoons from the dollar store in Richmond, so I bought them (and tablespoons and a bag of pretzels) from the dollar store there before leaving at 1:35 or so. When I got home, I told Kathy to be on fucking time next time, and then she tried blaming ME for it since she says Geoff was there at 1:15. Then he could also have been proactive and started looking around for people as well. Ugh, never going there again! I also told Julie and (by extension) Wilf about it since the cross-posting Swami could not be denied! Aaron merely wondered if I couldn't make it out: if that had been the case, I'd have told them earlier! He doesn't get my anger, though. The Canucks played the Blues at 7 tonight, and lost 3-1. Good effort, but those empty-net goals!

COFFEE TIME! The Canucks played New Jersey at 4 today, but lost 3-2. Then I went out at 6:50 after the game ended. I got two 18-packs of assorted Christmas cards / 12 Vancouver postcards (Gastown, BC Place, and the RCMP!) / three assorted packs of Christmas stickers / a pack of 40 golden Christmas decorative stickers (Poinsettias! Holly! Wreaths! Snowmen! Santa! Winter! Bells!) / a pack of Mickey Mouse stickers / a pack of Emoji stickers from the dollar store (I'm going to make it worth my while if I have to go to a store tucked away in a corner at the other end of the mall...), and on-sale orange juice / Crème de Pirouline dark chocolate artisan rolled wafers for myself from London Drugs. Thank goodness that the 407 bus driver saw me running for the bus and waited a few extra seconds, and waited a bit for me to retrieve my bus pass from my pocket! I definitely thanked him for that, besides my customary "Thank you" when I get off the bus! I got home at 8:10, which is MUCH better than a while later!

After a few attempts, I finally got through to Dr. Ruby's office at 10:15 to make an appointment. I didn't care if they were kinda fully booked today. I got one at 3:20, so that worked for me after I took a shower. Wilf Charest added me via my Fearsome Canucks Fans group, too! Since I just managed to get the 407 at 2:45, I was at Lansdowne extra early, so I hit up the Dollar Tree for Tasty Kitchen chicken noodle soup x5. Then I went to Big Crazy for some Paldo Rabokki Korean spicy noodles, Penang Red Curry noodles, and Knorr extra hot and soup mixes x2. At Dr. Ruby's office, she said I should get Dimetapp DM (which the store was out of), do some saltwater gargling (which you can't overdose on!), and white minty Halls.

After that, I went to London Drugs to do just that. (the white minty Halls was on sale!) The pharmacist helped me find some Benylin which expires in February 2019. On the way home on the 407, some entitled old man said that I was hitting him in the face with my bag, so I spoke up and said that he was an entitled old man. No, the bus announcements are NOT for me, and the bus driver was telling some other girl to put her suitcase up in the bag area instead! If my bag was really in his face (it was KNEE-HEIGHT at best), then I could have "accidentally" hit him with my cans of soup! I finally got home at 5:15 - PHEW! Then I banned a couple of people from Fearsome because they thought I was on an admin power trip. Not even!

After COFFEE TIME, I had to go out to celebrate Dad's birthday - UGH! At least I got the Samyang 2X spicy Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen (chicken with a bomb!) noodles for Jon from Big Crazy, haha! To kill some time after leaving way early at 10:05 on a 407, I went to Shoppers and bought the cheapest baby boy card that they had ($3 is much better than $7!), plus some cream of mushroom soup since I was at the store anyway. I used the brand new self-checkout machines, and the scanning area seems to be much easier than others which I've used! Then I killed time at Book Warehouse and Trendybucks, where I had a conversation with a woman who noticed my large London Drugs reusable bag. I didn't mind that at all, actually! Jon and Harmony picked me up at the Royal Bank parking lot at 11:25-ish as advertised in Jon's 7:45 AM Facebook message. We had a dim sum lunch at Haiyi Seafood Restaurant on Main and 31st: shrimp dumplings, purple sweet potato dumplings, beef tendons, noodles, rice, egg tarts, shrimp rolls, and more! Ayler asked me if I liked "poke," which is apparently his word for blood draws. Then he said the word "vagina" because Harmony was reading a kids' book about girls' bodies to him - well, kindergarten is going to be interesting, haha.

Mom said that Steph and Lisa aren't going to be here in October because Ryan's wedding has been called off. WHAT?! Good thing that I hadn't mailed the card for baby Henry yet, so I could obscure that reference to October with a black Sharpie later on! Then we talked about getting the kids to eat something, Hiero coming over to me so he could say hi, a video of Havarti swimming, future plans, Ayler loving the lazy Susan, and other things. When Mom and Dad dropped me off at King Edward Station, I decided to go to London Drugs so I could get some more gold / silver / bronze Sharpies [Dec. 30, 2016] for my wallet (so people can feel SPECIAL!) before mailing the baby card at their post office. I got home at 2:10 on a 407, and put some tape in my wallet as well, just in case. Then I put my other gold / silver / bronze Sharpies in my new Modella cosmetics bag near the computer, along with some index cards and pens even though I have plenty in the other two nearby Sterilite boxes. Later, I read that disability payment is actually going up by $100 a month in September, so that's awesome news!

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: three Mega Rolls of Royale toilet paper, a spiral school notebook from Portland, a fridge magnet from our farewell breakfast for Steph and company, Uncle Ben's Country Inn chicken and wild rice, Chinese toothbrush / toothpaste / two hairbrushes from Hotel Wing International, a Joytel Group Hotels toothbrush, a Sweet Cat Miss Gang blue-green shirt / a grey "New York" shirt with gibberish on it from Asia. In what world does "New York floeer srtr KNTIM klyet falo vsing poarts mrlrty daing mrlrty" make sense?!

I went out at 2:45 and got two cans of NEW Comfort Creek Foods chicken and dumplings from the Dollar Tree. Then I got another pack of Samyang 2x Spicy Hot Chicken Ramen Flavor noodles from Big Crazy. Since they had a 10-cent surcharge on debit purchases, I got some Want Want snowy crackers. (which are plain and bland, so I'll give them to Chrystal) Apparently, I forgot my purple wallet there! Good thing that a lady came up behind me in the parking lot and let me know... that saved me some time and energy! Then I went to London Drugs to get a NEW Vileda cotton and microfibre mop and a NEW Vileda Quick Wring bucket - the wringer is connected to the bucket!

That's much easier than trying to get the wringer to stay on the grey bucket from people, so I threw out the old mop and bucket (along with the slightly wet toilet paper packs from yesterday) when I got home at 4. Later, I went to London Drugs again at 5:55 to get the rest of my bulky purchases: Cottonelle toilet paper x2 and on-sale SpongeTowels Ultra-Strong paper towels! I added two on-sale MAMA spicy shrimp noodles and on-sale NEW Bar Harbor fish chowder cans x2 to that as long as I was using my Royal Bank debit card. I got home at 6:35 on a 407, and I'd better not have any more emergencies in the next ten days!

Since I was up at 8 AM today, it was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT! I went out at 10:25 on a 407 and was finally able to make it to the Dollar Tree and Big Crazy today on a 403 from Brighouse before it got TOO hot outside! I got a can of Success mushroom pieces, Knorr mashed potatoes in chicken gravy, and Knorr mashed potatoes in beef gravy. (I had to check if I could microwave them first, of course!) I'm thankful to have the option again to purchase frozen food again: pork and tri-treasure x2 / lamb and onion / pork and chives JOY DUMPLINGS from Big Crazy! Inspired by CuyaDK, I also got some Samyang 2x Spicy Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen x4 at Big Crazy, plus Knorr hot and sour soup mix x3 since I was there anyway. I got home at 11:35 on a 407 from London Drugs, which is good. I think I'll wait on ice cream, since I don't care much for the prices or sizes for Häagen-Dazs at London Drugs right now. Of course, I might also change my mind on that, haha.
