48 Z-Grip Pens (December 18, 2019) from Staples while I was out anyway / a backup K120 USB keyboard, a backup Certified Data Deluxe Optical mouse, 2000 Flushes with Chlorine, Paul Newman's Alfredo sauce for next year, London Naturals unscented dish soap, Vim bathroom cleaner from London Drugs / half-price JOY dumplings x4 (Pork and Tri-Treasure, Lamb and Onion, Pork and Vegetable, Pork and Chives), Earth's Own almond milk, another Hungry-Man Queso XL bowl, and $9 Saniderm hand sanitizer x4 (the limit) from Price Smart equals another productive shopping trip! I should have gone to the pharmacy next door YESTERDAY since it looks like they're closed for ALL the Easter long weekend! Some dude wondered if the entire building was closed - looked like it to him when he peered in. Oh well... I left at 1 on a 401, and returned at 2:50 on a 407.

It's National Punctuation Day today... MY FAVORITE! After COFFEE TIME, I had to leave at 2 on a 401 and then a 410 (which I just got to on time, no thanks to idiots blocking my path on the sidewalk) for my appointment with Dr. Ruby before I helped with the kids. That was uncomfortable - I also saw a professional Audrey. Also, I had to buy more NEW Beehive Burst Peppermint lip balm at the Dollar Tree since there was no photo online that I could find, so I had to take my own photo. (I had ripped mine open last week before I figured this out...) I was there on time, but STILL had to wait 20 minutes to be seen! UGH! I should have gone to Dollar Tree before rather than after! Then I tried to speedwalk over to Lansdowne station a block and a half away, and just missed a Waterfront train thanks to these two slow ladies on the elevator going down.

When I got to Marine Drive station, I definitely needed a snack, so I went to Tim Horton's. Luckily, there was no lineup, so I got a non-sticky cheese tea biscuit and then got out of there to find that a wheelchair wanted to get on the 3 as well. Then a stroller wanted to get on - at least this one contained a fairly curious kid who growled and made various noises, unlike the other stroller who got on after that one left! After another delay caused by the driver stopping in the middle of the road for five minutes to check an alarm that was going off, I finally got to Mount Pleasant at about 4:20 when I could have been there at 4:05! Too many delays! Yeah, I used Term to complain to via text, haha.

Inside, Penny was just finishing up speech therapy while Beckett was failing at napping again. Almost right after Penny left, it was off to the park across the street because Harmony wanted to walk Beckett around the playground to see if he'd nap then. Spoiler alert: He did not. Ayler asked if I wanted to play tag or Manhunt - no, because I had run out of energy and was like a car which had run out of gas. Hiero asked why I walked how I did, so maybe Jon and Harmony should talk to him about it at some point. Once we got home again after more promises of consequences, I got to play with Beckett for a bit. He liked the baby pop-up toy because it made him laugh more than usual, wanted me to shake my head a lot because it was funny, liked PEEK-A-BOO as per Hiero, tried eating my DRAGON HOODIE strings again, and climbed on me a few times. (he did pull Hiero's hair, though!)

At the same time, Hiero was trying to show me his origami. Blowing up squares to make huge boxes, oh my! Later, I stayed close as Beckett crawled on the couch despite Ayler telling me not to let him do it. Well, you're doing and completing a HUGE connect-the-dots puzzle, so I'll do what I want while keeping Beckett safe in my own way, including trying to put on one of his missing socks. We had salmon, congee, Chinese chicken soup, meatballs with ketchup and barbecue sauce, some veggies, and ridiculous amounts of shredded pork. Then we talked about whether Jon had been shot today at the Downtown Eastside (he was fine and didn't have to lie on the floor as per Hiero's question), why people shoot at each other ("because some people think that the best way to resolve their problems is with guns" and "that's why we don't joke about guns"), my Cactus Club birthday dinner, Ayler seeing Brooke early this morning ("how do you know?"), Hiero doing flips and gymnastics in the elevator earlier and being injured, and how much everyone in the family could eat compared to each other.

After I washed dishes for a bit, I read to Hiero about Optimus Prime and the Decepticons, then listened to Ayler play a boogie on the piano before listening to him read a Level 2 story about polar bears. Sure I had to help him with some words, but that's normal. I left at 7:20, but couldn't get a 3 bus till 7:40 thanks to a couple of buses being out of service! I missed a Brighouse train by five minutes, and JUST managed to get a 407 at Brighouse, no thanks to people blocking my path where I was going to run to the front door of the bus. Do I really have to shove my way past other people all the time to get where I'm going in a timely fashion?! I got home at 8:35, checked my mail, and found Julie's birthday card plus random stuff - yay!


Random stuff: Nathan returning the OUTLANDER novel to me, six packs of Compliments Safeway brand spicy chicken instant noodles, and yet another pair of reading glasses. Good thing I didn't buy the Jergens lotion today because of all the walking I had to do, AND the utter weight of the 650-page paperback book!

After LAUNDRY TIME (with the elevator STILL out of service...) and COFFEE TIME, I left at 12:15 for my Invisalign appointment, barely managing to get there on time thanks to a wheelchair JUST making me miss a Brighouse train at 12:35. (they're definitely entitled to use the elevators and trains - I might have made it with the time it took to wheel the person in and out...) The technology simulator was pretty cool, at least.

I did see Dad, which is what I'd been expecting, so I briefly discussed it and he said no if the insurance didn't cover it. I got brochures and the health angle, also expected. Once I finally got out of there at about 2, I saw Dad waiting downstairs. He unexpectedly gave me a ride home because it was really raining by then, and said a bunch of stuff about money and exactly why Mom thought finding the grave in Cuba was "urgent." (Steph will go with her in October?!) At least I got home at 2:40 so I could finally eat!

My next dentist appointment is on Jan. 8 at 2 - I had to go home, check the actual Canucks schedule, and then call the office to change it from the 7th at 1. Then I decided to finally call Dr. Ruby's office and found out that they can't just do a six-month referral to the eye clinic over the phone, since I legally have to go to the office to set it up. UGH, FINE! I guess I know what I'm doing on the day before my birthday...

After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I left at 1:05 on a 407 for a sober BBQ, bringing along my Ziploc bag of utensils and a couple bags of regular chips. I also stopped by Shoppers at Richmond Centre to buy 100 No Name garbage bags for almost $20 because the Western Family ones under my sink were getting nasty! I shouldn't store anything under there now! YES, I wiped that area!

Good thing I had Luke's number because I thought it was at Sunset PARK (much closer!) instead of Sunset BEACH all the way downtown! ("Why go all the way down there?!" was what I texted Luke at the community centre... he laughed and later said that he liked me and my honesty) I texted Eric Ho and messaged Corey and Mike out of frustration as well, but eventually managed to make it there at about 4 by taking the 49 UBC to Langara Station, then to Yaletown-Roundhouse, then the 23 Beach shuttle bus across the street to Pacific / Jervis (right after Bute), where Luke eventually met me after I accidentally texted him from the bike path. Oops! I stepped off the path after that.

I met a few people like Luke (who's the real MVP), TJ, Anant, Cami, and Faith / Violet. YES, VIOLET AND I ARE THE SAME HEIGHT! We discussed bearded dragons, geckos, hiking, hummus, baby carrots, Beyond Meat sausages, Veggie Crisps chips, BBQ sauce, ketchup, future hangouts, canoeing, renting problems, work, cannabis, my Miss Vickie's "fancy" Signatures Hickory Salted chips AND Ziploc bag full of utensils (Faith thought I'd just meant a fork or something!), Josephine, Tony and Michelle NOT being mods anymore (thank CHRIST!), and other things. We left at 6, and I determined that Term wasn't going home, but to the airport instead to pick up his brother. Going uphill with all my bulky heavy crap was JUST about doable... Finally got home at 7:10 thanks to the 407 cooperating and being later at Brighouse than the posted schedule, and I definitely had to have some whiskey!

Edit: I found out that Paul texted me at 7:45 to thank me for something, so I was wondering what was up with that. Turns out he wanted to thank me for today's beach hangout, which I was not involved in organizing at ALL. Strange... no wonder he needs his own space!

THE 2019-2020 NHL SCHEDULE IS OUT TODAY! I came across a problem with my HP Laserjet 1020 printer today while printing out the Canucks schedule and generating more "origami paper" for Hiero. It said there was a paper jam, but it had been printing things out just fine a few seconds beforehand! After Googling it and attempting to fix it myself via a Youtube video, I texted white Eric about the issue after a phone call got no answer. (which is totally fine)

Left my phone on and he called me at 7:05 to figure out the problem more in depth, so I showered immediately afterwards. He came by at 7:40 to figure out the bigass cartridge, and show me what to do. Turns out I have to tilt the mustache on it at a certain downwards angle, which I attempted myself. He left five minutes later - then Jon emailed a bunch of us about Randal's upcoming birthday: Lion's Den at Fraser and Kingsway, then maybe 12 Kings or Bells and Whistles (17th and Kingsway) for drinks afterwards. Randal wants me there? Okay, then... nice!

There was an unexpected water shutoff today! Of course Amacon posted a notice at the front door to let people know... come on! Not everyone leaves their apartment once a day! UGH! I briefly called Chrystal at work at 4 to wish her a happy belated birthday since she'd been off last week. She thanked me and said she appreciated it. The water was FINALLY back on at 5:45, NOT 1 PM as stated in the notice! Geez.

Yesterday, Holly invited me to Steveston Pizza at her place tonight. Nobody was going to have the $850 pizza! ("SEENAY: Medley of tiger prawns, lobster ratatouille, smoked steelhead, Russian Osetra caviar, snowed with Italian white truffles $850") After I showered and had COFFEE TIME, Brian kindly picked me up at the hospital at 7:10 even though the pizza place was way closer to his apartment. We chatted about the expensive pizza (a MOUND of seafood on the order before his?!) and the NHL Draft Pick Lottery Day before getting to Holly's, where I unsuccessfully completed a call to her. She wanted to throw her keys down to us again, but actually answered the door instead once she realized Brian had five pizza boxes.

I said hey to Darryl and Paulo, informing Paulo that the temporary crosswalk was now closed off. He put his head in his hands and said, "I hate it..." Trust me, I understand ANY ranting he has to do on the issue! We all talked about life, Vegas, walking a lot on the LONG Strip blocks, online people, chatrooms, drunkenness, dodgy stuff, seeing family members, work schedules, Holly's new job starting tomorrow, dead people, being a travel agent, working with the general public, and upcoming plans. As usual, I have none. I did almost forget my jacket, oops. Darryl called me by name when we said bye to him outside, which shouldn't really be a surprise. Brian dropped me and Paulo off at about 9:40, which is pretty good. I actually have time to blog without being rushed off to do other things!

A sick Jon asked me this morning if I still wanted to make it to his place since his student had cancelled yet another Monday lesson (which I did), and then wanted to know if I could make it on Thursday from 3:30-4:30 since Harmony is working then instead of next Monday because she wants to spend time with Hiero on his actual birthday. Sure, I guess so! BYE WEEK, AHOY! After (MORE) COFFEE TIME, I left at 3:30 to make it to Jon's at 4-ish. The kids were eating and playing with puzzles, but seemed excited about school and new stickers. Ayler had drawn a purple house with lots and lots of floors, Hiero wanted to read a book with lots of flaps with me, Ayler asked a lot of questions about math and why Keith was sick ("he can't be sick in the summer!"), Ayler asked if he could have my fruity beer (NO!), and Ayler practiced his writing and told me that I should know better how to write because I'm an adult. I also passed that message on to Steph, haha.

Ayler asked whether people had gone to heaven if they were born in 1961 or 1948 (or 1914 or 1918) / whether people were still alive if they were born in 462 A.D. or 1018, Hiero loved his bulldozer, and we had gummy cars / curry stew / dumplings / sausage / (coconut) water for dinner. Randal had apparently cancelled too, maybe because of his dad. More playtime for me! Ayler wanted to take my hat off - I said no, which doesn't mean that he gets to say yes! We also talked about seeing his special Gr. 3 buddy Ethan on Thursdays depending on the class schedule, eating old marshmallows from a school craft (NO!), San Francisco in March, falling asleep on the bus, being tired, "Baby Baloo," Hillcrest, the pizza dinner on Sunday, seeing them again on Thursday, and my not staying later than 7 because I had to do some shopping before I got home.

Then I went to London Drugs for a Hilroy notebook since some paper towel got on the whiteout on the cover, a bubble mailer envelope, some hand sanitizer x2 (one of which will have to be returned because I can't figure out how to open it...), desperately-needed Softsoap hand soap refills x2 (juicy cucumber and crisp melon / vanilla brown sugar), and desperately-needed Silk almond milk. No thanks to the cashier commenting on EVERYTHING ("this is so heavy! why did you buy this?!"), I barely made it out the door in plenty of time to catch the 407 and get home at 8:30. Ugh!

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: a brown Tika sweater vest and a Ziploc bag full of Werther's Originals and other hard candies.

In EARTHBOUND TENTH ANNIVERSARY HACK, Ness / Paula / Jeff / Poo go up to yet another Onett meteorite at the hilltop. They see the Bread Roll gift box, which now contains a Large Pizza instead. Then they talk to the nearby police officer, who had wanted to take the box in for questioning. "You can't just take the contents of the box like that! That's evidence!"




In EARTHBOUND TENTH ANNIVERSARY HACK, Ness / Paula / Jeff / Poo go to the Onett meteorite after defeating four Gnomes, Gir, and Invader Zim as boss enemies. Contrary to the government expert's findings, this does NOT look like a dinosaur! "No problem here."




In EARTHBOUND TENTH ANNIVERSARY HACK, Ness / Paula / Jeff / Poo see Reid the Mr. Saturn outside Lier X. Agerate's house. They go inside, where Mr. Saturn asks them: "Well, this is it, guys. Are you ready for the meeting?"

I noticed that Joyce - whose birthday is today - had unfriended me from Facebook. Her loss! It was also COFFEE TIME by default since I got up at 7:20 AM. Mike B. had sent me a cool message to wish me a happy early birthday, so that definitely made me smile!

Vanessa sent me a Facebook message at 5:30 wanting to know what I was doing for dinner tonight. I had nothing planned, but I did wonder whether I had forgotten about something! She wanted to come out to Richmond (either IHOP of Denny's) with her friend Wayne, whom I'd met at her Anton's birthday dinner. Sure, why not? I needed a break, anyway! I took a shower, and they were here at 6:30 or so. We talked about Jason ruining her day by not bringing eggs for her pancakes today, her vanilla milkshake and calcium, my country fried steak / toast / strawberry jam / broccoli / mashed potatoes / sausage gravy, the Richmond World Festival, the military, her pregnancy / potential baby names and gender (not Gertrude / Kathleen), her parents' divorce, Wayne's friend Kevin wanting to marry a full-time Twitch streamer from England, Vanessa's friend cutting off a friendship with a bridezilla named Marilyn who slapped her and berated her in front of a whole crowd of people, our stupid brothers, her parents' divorce, and the changes around Richmond. I definitely needed the break, and got home at 7:50.


Country fried steak, sausage gravy, toast, broccoli, and mashed potatoes at IHOP!

Last night, I finally finished the tiny sample size bottle of Crown Royal 90% rye whiskey that I got on April 18! You bet I'm keeping this bottle, too! Tonight, I found 24/7 Youtube streams of AMERICAN DAD and FAMILY GUY, so of course I watched some of that!
