Tatiana's Wanderings

I called Ayler at 4:15 or so since I noticed he called me earlier. He picked up within ten seconds because he "didn't want to have it ring even though we were playing with trains." He also told me that he and Hiero have "birthday parties" for their stuffed animals every morning - which I knew about - and send the bad ones to "hell" while singing "the Ha-Ha song," which makes fun of the fact that they're now alone. They went out on scooters today, might have burritos for dinner later, and told me a lot about their toy train tracks setup. XL / A / B / C / D, behind the couch, under the couch, and over the mat too! Sounds pretty interesting. I told Ayler to just listen to his parents and the news for coronavirus updates.

Ayler wanted to know what I did today, what I might have for dinner, and whether I'd remember what I ate when we set up the next phone call for Tuesday afternoon sometime. Probably I will - Saturday is Dumpling Night now and for the foreseeable future! We talked about his puzzles, soap, Hiero not wanting to talk to me today, Beckett saying "hello" (any other word apparently means he doesn't want to talk on the phone) and "Auntie," Ayler's "connections" making sure we talked on the phone for at least 35 minutes, and how he doesn't call me every day because he's not sure if I will pick up or not. We did set up the next talk time for Tuesday afternoon sometime. I even briefly talked to Harmony, who had to go because Beckett was crying since Hiero took away his blanket again.

Easily Distracted By Dragons!

After MORE COFFEE TIME and SHOWER TIME, I went out at 4:45 on a 401 to get to the Discord get-together at the Rio Brazilian Steakhouse on Denman. All I had to do was get off at Yaletown (where the elevator is STILL not working!), go to the 6 stop which is very close by, and stay on there when it turned into a 5 and went to Denman / Pendrell... easy! It turns out that it was just me and Ben, which meant that I had to carry on a bit of the conversation, but I'm not socially awkward.

We talked about chicken, lamb, beef brisket, banana balls, cheese sticks, chicken bacon, rump, sirloin steak, it being easy to overeat since the steak came in slices off swords, getting searched at the airport with X-rays, bullet shells, double standards for some people in the server, people drinking a LOT there, random spontaneous meetups, some server people being flakes, recycling trucks, waterparks, the extravagant salad bar, and more. I decided to try "saving time" by going to the Vancouver City Centre London Drugs, but I can never figure out the layout and can never find anything there. Also ran into an annoying bike rider who decided to get his crap together RIGHT AFTER EXITING THE ELEVATOR! Can't you do that off to the side?! People like me will bump into you! Did the "sit till Waterfront and take the "next" train all the way to Brighouse" trick, and went to my familiar London Drugs for Wet Ones x3 and aloe Purell hand sanitizer x2, one each for my wallet. Finally got home at 9:05 on a 407, which I guess is fine - but I could have come home earlier!

Paulo let me know yesterday that he could come over tonight for noodles and ginger ale, which totally worked for me! Definitely no alcohol after last Friday for him, especially not with the stated effects on his body and liver! Today, he said he could come over around 8 unless that was too late - nope! He ended up taking a long nap and came over around 8:30 instead, but that was fine. Before I forgot, I asked him to take care of the wonky stove element wire. Thank goodness that he was able and willing to help! (and also to do his own dishes) I had cued up some relaxing FINAL FANTASY video game music, and we talked about that franchise / EARTHBOUND / MOTHER 3, MEGA MAN, DRAGON QUEST / DRAGON WARRIOR / instrumental music while cooking and eating noodles.

We talked about that smoke-filled ride from Chilliwack to Richmond in 2008 (starting off the summer of hell), Tinder bios, NO revenge porn, private things, Nissin black garlic oil noodles, the Samyang curry chicken terrorist noodles which ALMOST defeated him ("I'M DYING!" - I didn't care if he posted a photo of the bowl to Discord!), cigar / cigarette smoking, vaping, not judging Brian for his addiction or choice, Discord, Holly, Darryl being at a Metric concert, a Portland trip for Darryl and some others tomorrow, not interrupting stuff, Guu, Jeremy, and weird posts on my Facebook newsfeed. He definitely thanked me for having me over, the noodles, Ben and Jerry's peanut butter cookie dough ice cream as a chaser, Canada Dry ginger ale, two Pepto Bismol pills just in case he had an upset stomach later, and Gatorade bottle to take home at 11:30. We should do this again = all he has to do is let me know! At least he's more appreciative than SOME people...
