It's MARIO DAY today! After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 3:10 on a 401 to help with the kids. Surprisingly, I just managed to get the 3 despite the elevator buttons not responding to my commands. I got to the house at 4:10 despite an electric scooter not knowing how to maneuver smoothly on the bus (I had to move), but those things can be unwieldy! Thank GOODNESS it stayed on the bus AFTER 16th, so I wasn't delayed any more! Once I got in, Beckett wanted to play with me, but my washing hands coincided with his diaper change. After that, we played with blocks / magnets / balls ("boh-boh!") / Play-Doh. He ALMOST licked the Play-Doh lids, looking at me to see how I'd react. I said that was gross and not to do it. He said "come up / yeah / block / ma-net / open! close! / lid / pease / light / purple / Auntie" a lot. Later, he almost fell down, but I was there to catch him and put him on the couch, where we sat together and "talked" about the "funny" blanket and the happy / sad eggs.

When Ayler told me to guess what time he went to bed last night, I actually got the right time: 10 PM! Apparently, there was a choir concert last night at St. James (Jon's old orchestra hangout space), WITH a rehearsal before AND a mass choral recital afterwards, so nobody could leave early even if they wanted to! I realized that they had scheduled it for the day after Daylight Savings, which is NOT GOOD! Hiero spent his time making Superman signals and wanting Popsicle sticks and special paper. He also was less than polite when he laughed at people. Apparently, roasted broccoli is not his thing!

Beckett wanted me to look out the window at the alley because of the lights - good choice! Hiero wanted me to play a game, but I wasn't up for that. There was a felt book with multiple felt pieces, and Beckett identified an X for Tic-Tac-Toe correctly some of the time. He also knew what the moon was, so he's getting smarter! I told him what a flower was when he identified it as a boh-boh (hahaha), and he picked it up from me. When I took my phone out to take photos that were CLEARLY of the food and NOT THE KIDS, Beckett said "gung-gung"... hahaha, I thought he associated the phone with Uncle Joe last week!

Ayler said that their trip is after Tuesday next week, so I said that I know that they get to listen to TICKET TO RIDE on the ride over. "How do you know?" was easily answered since I saw Jon's Facebook status earlier about borrowing someone's copy. Hiero told us about MINECRAFT, but Harmony wondered where he learned about that. The school computers offer that as an option for ALL the kids, apparently, so Harmony says she'll talk to the teacher about that. I did not volunteer that there was Preschool MINECRAFT - she'd be horrified! I left at 7:30 and surprisingly got home at 8:35, despite the stroller at 16th! If you can't be ready when the bus stops, then don't be surprised if a passenger gets on before you maneuver your stuff off the bus! I know it's safer to wait till the bus stops, but come on now - be aware and at least make your way toward the door!

COFFEE TIME! The Canucks played the Rangers today at 10 AM again because of MORE "lovely" East Coast scheduling, and won 3-2 in a crazy game even though they lost the shutout bid thanks to Trouba!

The Canucks played Edmonton tonight at 7 in their first game of the 2019-2020 NHL season, and lost 3-2. Chinese Eric texted me yesterday afternoon wanting to come over today at 4 after lunch and errands, so I resigned myself to a lot of talking and said yes, getting the parking pass ready. I did have to give him the strawberry / original / mango / banana / peach / melon / apple Milkis cans, after all, and could also use him to pick up a carton of almond milk that I forgot last week at the store. He came by at 4 after COFFEE TIME and SHOWER TIME, wanting to watch the Leafs game, but also picked up a carton of almond-coconut milk from the store instead of the almond milk I wanted, saying that I'd failed to specify. IF I WANTED NASTY COCONUT MILK (WHICH I DON'T), I'D HAVE SAID SO! We did try the Dr. Oetker salted caramel cheesecake, which was okay. Then he said that printing out the Canucks schedule was a waste of paper - he should have seen how much paper I wasted on things which weren't perfect to me! Besides, it works for me when I want to plan stuff during the hockey season - SO THERE!

He left at 5 to exchange the milk at Price Smart... GOOD! By that time, I'd composed the email to him / white Eric / Jeremy (who'd thanked me for my "Happy Birthday" email earlier) / Jon / Christon / Randal about his proposed 12 Kings hangout on October 22 to watch the Raptors championship banner unveiling after we figured out WHY their first preseason game was at 3 AM. (it's in Tokyo...) We had Western Family 8-vegetable lasagna with multigrain pasta for dinner: Carrots / green and red Bell peppers / spinach / zucchini / cauliflower / broccoli / black olives! Also talked about his seeing Corey Hirsch at the art gallery, the Leafs-Senators game (Toronto won 5-3), bottled water, his doing the dishes, live-action remakes of things like ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS and ALADDIN, "you know" all the time (FILLER ANNOYANCE!), McDonalds / Tim Horton's hockey cards, that Grow-A-Husband, my guestbook, the SIMPSONS, Channel 22 highlights, and more. Then he finally left soon after the game ended, at 9:40. Now it's time for video game music to relax!

THE 2019-2020 NHL SCHEDULE IS OUT TODAY! I came across a problem with my HP Laserjet 1020 printer today while printing out the Canucks schedule and generating more "origami paper" for Hiero. It said there was a paper jam, but it had been printing things out just fine a few seconds beforehand! After Googling it and attempting to fix it myself via a Youtube video, I texted white Eric about the issue after a phone call got no answer. (which is totally fine)

Left my phone on and he called me at 7:05 to figure out the problem more in depth, so I showered immediately afterwards. He came by at 7:40 to figure out the bigass cartridge, and show me what to do. Turns out I have to tilt the mustache on it at a certain downwards angle, which I attempted myself. He left five minutes later - then Jon emailed a bunch of us about Randal's upcoming birthday: Lion's Den at Fraser and Kingsway, then maybe 12 Kings or Bells and Whistles (17th and Kingsway) for drinks afterwards. Randal wants me there? Okay, then... nice!

I was up far too early (6 AM?!) for a smoke detector inspection at 12:45. At least yesterday's snow has melted! Chinese Eric emailed me to wonder where I was because he tried calling me on the 17th (oops), but says that our next hangout could be in late March or early April because there are some INTERESTING games coming up if the Canucks are in playoff contention. Well, I guess we shall see about this!

I discovered redrum last night - UGH! After I had COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 11:50 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I got on-sale Uncle Ben's rice x3 (Mushroom / Tomato and Herb / Jambalaya), Nissin black garlic oil noodles / BulJjamppong Korean beef seafood noodles / Paldo Volcano Chicken noodles / Nongshim Kamja Tang Myun rich potato noodles, NEW on-sale Charlotte's holiday butter cookies ($2 more for 430 grams vs. 340 grams for Royal Dansk), on-sale toys for Hiero's birthday presents where the original price even beats the Amazon price (EMOJI MOVIE Memory matching card game / Mega Bloks Smash Stunt Zeg truck), on-sale Cottonelle toilet paper x2, on-sale spearmint Dentyne gum, and Hainanese chicken which expires on the 23rd.

I also got NEW Oikos pineapple Greek yogurt, NEW Danone Oikos Lemon Meringue Creations Greek yogurt, JOY dumplings x6 (Lamb and Onion / Tri-Treasure / Pork and Chive / Pork and Vegetable), on-sale Liberté Skyr Icelandic-style yogurt x3 (plain / raspberry / vanilla bean - so I don't have to go all the way to Superstore for it right now!), soft Chips Ahoy cookies (original and peanut butter), on-sale Campbell's Chunky Soup (Chicken Sausage Gumbo and Creamy Chicken Noodle), and on-sale unsweetened Silk almond milk. We had to go back to Coast Capital (discussing Joy Division and the Clash and hockey fights) because my debit card came up with a "CAN'T PROCESS" error at the store! Ugh! At least I LUCKILY had the $180 cash to pay for my purchases, but STILL! This is a new card from late JULY, too! Bonus: The bank teller's name was HARSHDEEP!

After that, I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online at home. Then I got a Christmas photo card from Janet S. (ghost_light) and Christmas presents and stuff from Julie in a bubble-wrap envelope! A Christmas card with stickers, red and pink CHRISTMAS HOUSE penguin socks, a fun and fuzzy JOT ballpoint pen, Women Daredevils: Thrills, Chills, and Frills (Julie Cummins / Cheryl Harness), eight sticker sheets (Christmas glitter / wild animals / truck stickers which Ayler and Hiero would probably stick all over the floor if I gave it to them / five more assorted sheets), two fun and encouraging little notebooks ("You can do this!" / "Best day ever!"), and a penguin pouch of Cappuccino For You! Eric Ho also finally emailed me back, saying that with his current work schedule, the 27th is the only date that could work for a hockey hangout before the new year. Well, at least he'll keep me posted!

I updated my Google Chrome to Version 69 - now it has square tabs?! I also zoomed the default Google Chrome font up from Medium to Large, and zoomed the page zoom on LiveJournal and Wordpress from 110% to 125% since the previous zoom seemed to do nothing on those sites - SO MUCH EASIER TO SEE! NO STRAIN!

I also wasted way too much paper trying to print out the 2018-2019 Canucks schedule in an acceptable format and size (and also folded in half properly), especially with the Chrome update. Note to self: NOTEPAD SETTINGS should be Tahoma, at least size 18, LANDSCAPE printing orientation. DOUBLESPACE everything, too! Also, write R for Road Trips and COFFEE after that for games before 6 in brown Sharpie or brown marker!

I reminded everyone via email about the Felico's Greek food birthday dinner plans. Eric said he would be there. Good thing I asked him about a ride yesterday! Deb replied to say that her niece is also having a birthday celebration on the 23rd, said she was also doing the kidney walk that day, and invited me to Alpha at church. Ha! Maybe, maybe not! I also called Chrystal at work at 11:15 to remind her about the Greek food dinner (she can make it!), then Kevin replied to thank me for the reminder. He has a conflict that night, but may drop by briefly to offer his congratulations in person. Sounds fine either way!

Chinese Eric emailed me, white Eric, Jeremy, Jon, Christon, and Randal this morning about a Stanley Cup Final hangout somewhere - Washington Capitals and Las Vegas Golden Knights! I scanned the email (which had possible scheduling), but didn't see where the hangout was going to be, so of course I emailed everyone to ask where it was. Chinese Eric actually was on the ball with his email and replied to say that it was going to be at Jeremy's place. ("it has been brought to my attention," indeed) Well, I'm not giving up my Mike's Hard Root Beer for this one, so I'll just buy snacks later on in the week. Easy!

White Eric called me at 6:05, and got here about 15 minutes later. We discussed Steph, Mom, life, (almost) being in the Main area three times in three nights, and IGNITE PIZZA on the way to Jeremy's. I met new people named Alice, Evan, Judy, and Anna; CHINESE ERIC SHOWED UP, so of course I had to talk to him! He said that he'd seen my reply to the Evite, so of course he had to come after work! I saw Jesse and Trish, so gave them my "jack shit" opinion of the Pest Chaser sonic device. Said hi to Geoffrey, Fred, Randal, Sheena, Vivian, and Kevin. We discussed a future hockey hangout, the Vegas Golden Knights, Kevin's Singapore and Vietnam / Saigon trip photos, white Eric's Albania trip photos, panoramic photos, Jon moving AGAIN to Mom and Dad's current apartment (which I didn't know about till he showed up and said something), losing weight, Randal spending time with Ayler and Hiero (but stopping his lessons), life updates, writing, scheduling Wordpress blogging, and Rice Paper online magazine.

Also talked about politics, Anglicans, Kevin attending a Lutheran church now, the Washington Capitals, the Tampa Bay Lightning, Twitch "in real life" streams, PUBG / FORTNITE, the new Wi-Fi device and password, Hiero ripping out a door at Jeremy's TODAY (he doesn't care!), Vivian's gum graft procedure (OUCH!), Christon's mom being even less mobile now, Randal's dad being 82 now, Nathan not wanting to socialize in big groups now (which is so totally understandable), Stockholm Syndrome beer, Pepsi, and BRISK iced tea. The party broke up at about 9:40 or so, and I nudged white Eric to get going if he wanted to pack up his hockey gear for tomorrow when he got home to Richmond. We waited for Sheena since she had no idea how to get out; on her way IN, she had bumped into Vivian, so that was pretty lucky! I got home at 10:25, and had peace and quiet unlike last night. SO GOOD AND REFRESHING!

Eric Ho emailed me this morning to say that he wishes he could make it to the MEGA SUSHI dinner, but they've scheduled him to work a Monet art exhibit at the VAG (art gallery), so he proposed that we hang out here instead for the Canucks regular season opener on Saturday, October 7. Sounds fine to me! I also blocked a stupid idiot who thought that disrespecting my "DO NOT COMMENT" boundaries was FUNNY. Time for some Chicken Alfredo as revenge since that's his name!

After taking a nap today, I noticed that Tryanna from Pathways had called me again a couple of times, and I was able to get through to her after a couple of attempts on my end. She wanted to change tomorrow's appointment to Monday because of possible staffing issues: sure, why not? I can be flexible when ASKED about it and given a chance to decide what I want for myself! Then I realized that this would NOT give Vanessa a chance to take photos of any GOOD TASTE dumplings or JOY dumplings in a bag, so I had to go out at 4:20 on a 401 to Price Smart with my wheeled luggage bag after doing my banking anyway!

I bought Philly-Style Steak and Cheese Bistro Crustini (thanks to Jimmy C. bringing up Philly Cheesesteak foods in Facebook chat), GOOD TASTE dumplings x5 (Beef and Vegetable / Cabbage and Chicken / Cabbage and Pork / Pork and Chive / Pork and Celery), JOY dumplings x4 (Pork and Tri-Treasure / Lamb and Onion / Pork and Vegetable / Pork and Chive), on-sale Western Family Peanut Butter Cups and Chocolate ice cream, Country Beef Pot Roast Stouffers Sauté Sensations, Homestyle Roast Chicken Stouffers Sauté Sensations, and some Chicken Alfredo Stouffers Sauté Sensations because of some Facebook comment mentioning Alfredo earlier. All of that weighed about 11.3 kg, and cost about $93.35! When I got home at 5:20 on a 407 (just managing to get the bus), I changed my RSVP to say that I'd be bringing that peanut butter chocolate ice cream instead for a dessert item! Erik's also just reminded me that Thanksgiving is coming up, so I put a turkey item on my grocery list for Monday.

Last night, Jon said that I was welcome to come over for lunch, and that physio was at 2:15. Sounded good to me, as I could get my Compass Card back that way, as well as spend more time with the kids! Time to put the thing in my wallet instead of my pocket while I'm out of the house! I got to the house early, but at least I could spend some quiet time to chill. When Jon and the boys got back from an appointment, we had chicken and tofu tacos for lunch before going to physio. The boys had fun making up bus stops (Steveston and Portland / Seattle / Surrey?!), and imitating the "BEEP BEEP BEEP" of the wheelchair ramps around here! Jon asked me how white Eric was; you see him more often than I do! Apparently, someone has set up a birthday dinner for him at Jeremy's on Sunday, but I haven't gotten any emails about it. I guess he's pretty busy! Later, Jon asked if Chinese Eric had any friends; I have no idea since even HE had to work on his own birthday!

We talked about Jeremy and his going down to Corvallis (Oregon) to see the solar eclipse with Christon and white Eric last week, my emailing Kevin some birthday wishes, whether they'd sent Fraser anything for his birthday ("oops"), my doing some dishes after a dinner of corn chowder and bread, Penny the speech therapist, Beck / Weird Al making me think of Jeremy, the Dead Kennedys, zone strategies, and September scheduling. When I got home at 7:45 on a 407, I finally registered the Compass Card online! Jimmy had messaged me this morning, but I'd ignored it in favor of doing my own thing, especially because of last night's lyrics debacle which HE could have easily prevented. Tommy's just messaged me as well, but I'll ignore that for certain.

I found out that the freezer might not have been working properly, so I called Hester at 11:25 for some help in that regard. After asking me what the freezer was (???), she said to adjust the number levels on temperature sensor, and to drop her a note later. Since I had to do my laundry after I showered anyway, I decided to combine two second-floor trips into one, and finished the laundry at 2. Hester came by at 3:45 to check stuff, and she said it was okay after adjusting some more things. At least she wasn't rude like she can be!
