After DOUBLE COFFEE TIME, I went out at 4:20 on a 407 to have dinner with Jon and the family at Don't Argue pizzeria, AKA Louie's parents' place, which is closing down on Friday. (that's NOT easily Googleable, Jon!) I was so early to Marine Drive that I killed time at the usual place by buying a big bag of Lays lime chips and NEW Samyang Buldak Toppoki spicy noodles. DON'T ARGUE was pretty crowded with a line out the door, but at least Jon and the two oldest were there already. Jon wanted me to kick in $20 for beer since he ran out of cash just buying the pizza and salad. We discussed mushrooms, salami, arugula, STAR WARS books, Connect-The-Dots, plans for Thursday (and repeating everything to Mom, then having her repeat it back...), a picture with 1400 dots to connect in their book, Beckett NOT eating pizza, the older kids being more independent (I knew that already, Mom), and how I inadvertently bought our parents some beer. Fine, whatever.

After that, I personally saw no point in walking back to Jon's place since there was nothing to do there for me, so I took the 3 to Broadway instead. There was a drunk guy that got on at 14th, delayed the bus driver by having to put his shirt on, magically had his fare, and then asked the entire front portion of the bus if we had any cigarettes. Ugh! I also wasted time at the Broadway London Drugs because they didn't have any dark MARTEX bath towels... DOUBLE UGH! After going to the London Drugs nearest my place for a red MARTEX bath towel, I was finally home at 8:10, but then had to do a load of laundry even if the elevators are out of service AGAIN!

NEW Samyang Buldak Toppoki spicy noodles!

Chris H. has a GUY friend named VENIS Goodman?! BAD SPELLING OF VENUS, which should be a GIRL NAME anyway! Also, it reminds me of PENIS.

Today is Bastille Day! I showered today - yup, I'll be at Jon's tomorrow at about 2:30 or so.

Happy Kampire?! (happy camper)

From Candy: Chicken rude and unreasonable?! I think they meant to translate "Jerk Chicken" on this menu...

From Julie M. and Only In Canada: "I really like bothering people outside Ontario and Quebec by posting pictures of bagged milk because the concept is so foreign to them and they go crazy." I actually remember bagged milk from my early 80s childhood here in BC! You had to cut the corner of the bag after putting it in the milk jug!

Are You a Brownie or a Cookie?

You Are A Cookie!

You are an independent and versatile person. You can roll with life's changes quite well.
You are resilient and optimistic. You see the glass of milk as half full, even if you've been burned before.

You are big on boundaries - what's yours is yours, and you aren't about to share what you have your heart set on.
That being said, you do live a life of abundance and have extra on hand for others. Who ever bakes just one cookie?

Are You Middle Class?

You Are Not Middle Class!

When it comes to social status, you are an outlier. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing at all.
You may be upper class or even out of sight rich - in which case, congratulations to you!

You may be working class or even poor, and that’s fine as well. Maybe you’re still working your way up in the world.
Or another possibility is that you’re just not willing to play the status game. No matter what, people wouldn’t call you average!

What's Your Muslim Name?

Your Muslim Name Is: Saesha Zeba!

Kindness is a mark of faith, and whoever is not kind has no faith.

Are You a Hipster or a Yuppie?

You Are A Hipster!

You like the best things in life, but they aren't always the finest things in life. You value quality and craftsmanship.
You are an artsy person, and you're always dabbling in something. You're too creative to be a straight up consumer.

You are the type who is cool without trying. You just seem to sense a trend is in the air before it becomes mainstream.
You probably wouldn't call yourself a hipster, but you know deep down that you're a little hip. It's just effortless for you.

What's Your Love Language?

Your Love Language is Quality Time!

For you, the best things about love are indeed free. You just simply like being with your partner.
You'd think that time together would be the easiest thing in the world, but true quality time is a rare gift... one you totally appreciate.

You love to receive a little undivided attention. No devices allowed! You value time just talking and connecting with your sweetie.
Even making dinner together and watching a movie can be an amazing night for you. It's all about the company!

I called Chrystal at work at 1:10 yesterday to remind her about last night, being honest about how July 12 (next Thursday) was actually just a consultation and not an actual surgery. "SHE BAMBOOZLED ME! NO!" Hahaha! While power-walking through the building and down the stairs, I saw Mr. Creep on his way up the stairs! UGH! I just managed to get to the C94 bus stop from Brighouse library before the shuttle bus got there! Then I had to wait ten minutes for the next Canada Line train at Brighouse, but managed to see Chrystal at the Broadway London Drugs. We went to Chipotle and talked about baby Beckett (my newest nephew!), my upcoming cataract consultation on Burrard, Emily's new baby Benjamin (Chrystal's newest nephew!), my therapy, my messy steak burrito in a bowl, my walking in on someone in the public washroom because SHE forgot to lock the door, my computer upgrade, her parents sharing a smartphone, my parents being millennial phone zombies in senior citizens' bodies, smartphones, the rain then, and more.

After that, she went to No Frills to meet her dad while I went back to London Drugs to look for gum tubs. I couldn't find them on my own, so had to ask the employees for help. The Dentyne gum was on $2.99 sale this week, so I grabbed a Dentyne Ice Avalanche 60-piece tub, hoping that THIS one wouldn't be soft. (I tested it later at the Canada Line station, and it thankfully was FINE! I lost the Excel gum lottery TWICE IN A ROW!) I also got an on-sale bag of Brookside blackberry and honey chocolates as a thank-you for Eric today if his fix worked. If it didn't, the chocolate was still in my preferred form of bites instead of tablets! Haha! I got home at 9:55 in the pouring rain because I had JUST missed the 401 / 407 buses at Brighouse, forcing me to wait an additional half an hour. After writing some notes to myself, I went to bed at 11.

I got up at 6 AM, decided to get some more rest, and got up for good at 10:45. Then I noticed that Eric had called at 10:25, so I called him back. He'd been out and wanted to see if he could fix my monitor, but he guessed he could go out again. In the 15 minutes available to me, I brushed my teeth / washed my face / took my multivitamin / took my Kraft Dinner White Cheddar macaroni and cheese plus Brookside chocolates out for Macaroni Day and Chocolate Day today / took Eric's Brookside Chocolates out / tidied up my computer desk area. Eric arrived at 11 with an extra BENQ monitor that used to be his dad Ron's, and was able to plug in my current monitor while cleaning it with Windex!

He looked up Electronics Return-It centres, and found that the Blundell one should be open on Saturdays, so took out my two old hard drives and old monitor, and accepted my chocolate as a thank-you while never guessing the CREEP that I saw at the library yesterday. Eric did say that he thought it was the circuits or something from the monitor itself. After a while, I went to Brighouse library on the C94 at 3:20 in order to hopefully get the Facebook status tagging backlog done using their IP address. IT WORKED BEFORE CLOSING TIME AT 5! I was in time for the 4:45 C94 on the way back to Brighouse Station, and was finally home at 5 on a 407.

Edit at 7:30! I finally got Mom on the phone to see if they had a floor lamp while I remembered BEFORE lunch on Monday. She said "of course," and at least clarified what I meant. Yes, one that is on the living room floor, NOT one for the bedroom! (which I wouldn't even call a floor lamp, but anyway...) At least now I can be picked up at 11:30 in the courtyard instead of having to leave 45 minutes early because of bus schedules! She said stuff about a used vacuum cleaner which still works for $10 at the thrift shop, a toaster, my pre-surgery consultation (which I told her FOUR TIMES that I had rescheduled for July 26 - their moving date), Auntie Wing Yee and Uncle Joe moving in with Holly / Peter / Evander / Everett in Steveston, Jon and Harmony maybe needing help on Thursday because the lards will get their Burnaby keys then, and eye care.

Chipotle steak burrito!

60-piece Dentyne Ice Avalanche gum!

From Julie: Travers Mackel?! Reminds me of Kim Traverse from elementary school...

I got the rest of my TamiFlu delivered to me at home today at 12:40... thank GOD that it's in a snap cap bottle and not child-resistant! Paul said he got my salmon jerky today (which he said was good), and also that my card was sweet. The Canucks played the Kings at 7 tonight, and won 6-2.

From OLD FAITHFUL Bathroom Reader #30: Moe Cotton was a Guam politician with signs reading "Pick Moe Cotton"?!

I had a dream where Jimmy was driving me and Tommy in a van somewhere, and Jimmy kept saying that he would choose Tommy over me, even as he dropped him off at a house somewhere before going into Richmond (where we both lived for whatever reason) and hanging out with me at a crowded conference. Okay then, subconscious! I'm probably going to make a new Facebook music group called COME AS YOU ARE, too. Tommy would automatically be blacklisted because of my rule of not typing like a moron. Punctuation is important! Jimmy says he wouldn't choose him over me, so we'll see.

"Your Intellect Eclipses Your Isolation"

You are constantly seeking to know more about the world. Understanding is always your key to happiness.
You may not be a naturally social person, but you connect with others freely when shared interest, knowledge, and passions are involved.

You are curious about the world and new ideas. You are open to changing your mind, and are constantly collecting information.
You are not quick to judge someone, even if you think you disagree. You seek to learn more instead.

Not sure about the last two sentences, especially right now at my stage of life! I can be quite comfortable judging people, especially if they act defensive / manipulative / supercilious / toxic! Trust me, I had to deal with at least one of those people last week! No, thanks! I have no time for that!

My Internet connection seemed really spotty today, so I had to call up Shaw at 4:10 when my phone lines actually worked and investigate. I got an older lady named Joan in Nanaimo who ran me through a speed test, and said that my upload / download speeds were actually pretty good. Luckily, it seemed to work okay after the phone call - PHEW!

In SUPER MARIO FANTASY ADVENTURE, Mario / Luigi / Yoshi / Toad are exploring Musha. This guy says, "Hey, Mario people, how did you COME THERE? Where WERE YOU?" What the heck?! Is this Engrish?!

In SUPER MARIO FANTASY ADVENTURE, Mario / Luigi / Yoshi / Toad go into Musha Castle. This guard tells them: "Bowser is responsible OF all the bad things again!" More bad English! Ugh!

In SUPER MARIO FANTASY ADVENTURE, Mario / Luigi / Yoshi / Toad go into the Chaos Shrine. They see this treasure chest which is like the question mark blocks in the original MARIO game - quirky!

Humans over the age of 35 lose about 7000 brain cells each day. (that explains my ditziness!)

Dammit, I should have used a billion Strength Seeds before fighting Dogma and Zozogel in DRAGON QUEST VI - too late now unless I restart (so close to the end!) OR somehow figure out how to use ZST files! (I swear I knew this before when I was playing CHRONO TRIGGER last year...) Never mind, then. Doesn't really matter!

Mom and Dad were LATE picking me up this morning, and I was surprised that Mom was driving. Apparently, Dad was sick and under the influence of Neo-Citran which he didn't want to take. HA HA! We discussed Havarti's growth, dropping Jon off at Tom Lee, clothing, Nerds, chocolate, and other things which I didn't really pay attention to. Went to see Grandma briefly, and I gave her half a mini-banana... the other half looked brown, so I threw that out. I ate another mini-banana, and in the time it took for me to throw the peel in the trash, she'd finished her apple juice! Grandma also recognized me, and had a rounder face than usual... apparently, this is a medical side effect. She said that Alan had visited her earlier, which is good. Maybe she has a lot of repetition! At least she fed herself some soup.

We were off to Trinity church on 49th a bit early, but at least it was close by! Congratulated Myles in person, saw Peter and Holly, noticed Harmony with a crying Ayler (she had to bounce him all the time - maybe she missed the ceremony!), and saw Steph talking to her! Also said hi to Dorcas, who keeps forgetting our family connection to Myles, hahaha. We wondered which wedding photo category we'd fit into: probably #8, which was the groom's extended family. The ceremony was pretty traditional, right down to the vows. Brittney and her sister look REALLY alike!

Saw a bunch of people whom I haven't seen since Harmony's bridal shower and wedding back in 2009, like Peter's parents! Dropped the ugfart off at Tom Lee while discussing Thanksgiving, teaching, making money, FAT DRAGON, Portland, Pho Thai Son and the supermarket next to it BURNING DOWN (Jeremy probably saw the remains this morning!), and more. At least I got to go home after Mom unsuccessfully looked for parking at the insanely busy Yaohan Centre! I didn't want to go for smoked chicken at their house, since I'm having noodles and downtime here!
