I went out at 11:55 to go to Canadian Tire so I could get another Starfrit jar opener (Aisle 54 - had to get an employee to help me grab it) and 20 face masks for $20. I always overshoot the 410 station - I SHOULD GET OFF AT ABERDEEN, NOT HAZELBRIDGE! I texted Barry about payday, and he called me when I was outside Canadian Tire - yeah, I thought I'd have to do it myself again! Then I peeked inside Yaohan - there was a lineup either for Osaka Supermarket or a temperature check service. My last stop was London Drugs: All Clean Natural lemon-mint spray hand sanitizer x2 (no limit), Scrubbing Bubbles, London Naturals orange cleaner, NEW Microban 24-Hour bathroom spray x2 in Fresh and Citrus scents, and portable Wet Ones x2. Got home at 2:10 on a 407, too.

Since I didn't have to help out with the kids today, I stayed home to wallow in redrum unglory, haha. I felt bad because I had genuinely forgotten to give the cleaner a $20 cash tip yesterday (and remembered the time when Eric made us go back to the Pho place next door to church so I could give them a tip for dinner), so after some procrastination, called the EcoClean number given in my text reminder yesterday at 3:55. No, an e-transfer wouldn't work as far as I knew, and neither would a credit card payment on my own non-existent credit card if I didn't want it getting back to my family. The guy said he'd call her and see what she wanted to do.

Someone knocked on my door at 6:30, and it turned out to be the cleaner, who actually lives in Richmond! SHE thought I was paying for the service in cash, and wanted to call her boss, but I clarified. I said that I didn't want her to think that someone deliberately didn't tip her since I definitely wanted to show her some appreciation (especially since she was doing it all by herself), so she thanked me and gave me a big hug after I gave her $20 in cash fresh from my wallet. I should get more envelopes since I have no idea where my other ones are! At least my laundry token seed money of $20 is still intact!

Vanessa did the considerate thing yesterday and said that she and baby Cassidy couldn't make it to my Felico's birthday plans because of her ferry times from vacation. Of course I understood, and she can take me out for lunch sometime when she figures out some other stuff. Elizabeth can't make it, either, which is fine too.

I left at 5:15 on a 401 to get Arm and Hammer baking soda and peroxide toothpaste, on-sale store brand Ziploc bags x3, NEW on-sale barkTHINS dark chocolate x3 (Pretzel / Pumpkin Seed / Almond all with sea salt), an on-sale Ragusa Noir dark chocolate and hazelnut bar for Eric M. for his birthday, on-sale Reese mini peanut butter cups, purple MARTEX washcloths x2, and a replacement GIBSON owl coffee mug at London Drugs. Then I was home at 6 on a 407, which is just fine by me! Imgur isn't working, so I guess I have to use Photobucket... blah!

Jon dropped off his and Harmony's "old" HP printer at my place at 8:45 this morning since he had to drop the lards off at the airport at 8:30, anyway. He looked at the high amount of dust underneath the computer desk, looked in my fridge, wondered what all those cans were on the floor, and definitely noticed the "museum of noodles" on the couch. His explanation of my needing to practice made sense to me when it came to plugging the square plug into the printer itself.

Random stuff from Mom and Dad: Another silver water mug, 20mL Crest Complete toothpaste with Scope x2 (which expires in May 2019 and can't be opened anyway...), and Carnaby cinnamon hearts which expired on December 17, 2014!

I went out to the nearby medical clinic to get removal for hearing at 1:30 today, and still had to wait almost an hour, getting home at 2:25! At least now I can hear better!


Edit at 6:30 - I used up the last of my milk unwittingly, so I had to go out again at 5:35 on a 407 to London Drugs. I got Silk almond milk and on-sale Pepperidge Farms cookies x2. Strawberry thumbprint cookies and chessmen butter cookies! I got home again at 6 on another 407.

I got a surprise Christmas card in the mail from Karla yesterday, so I had to return the favor while I was out today anyhow! After COFFEE AND ASPIRIN TIME at 2:30, I went out at 3:20 to my dentist appointment with Sean. It went pretty well (he seemed surprised that I was flossing), but I did hear they were moving next year sometime to Fraser and 19th. Not so convenient anymore, but maybe I'll find new haunts over there. Of course we caught up briefly and wished each other a great Christmas / New Year! I went to the post office at Oakridge afterwards - right upstairs by the Photo Express near the elevators - to mail Karla's card, then went to Shoppers since I had time before the next 407. I got some Sour Cream and Bacon Ruffles chips with one of my coupons, plus some brand-new on-sale De Cecco and Catelli pasta: fusilli, rotini, and penne rigate x2 in much more reasonably-sized boxes. I got home at 5:20 and threw away the old pasta to make room for the new.

I noticed that Eric Ho had tried calling me yesterday when I was out, so I called him back at 11:50 AM. He answered the phone, and said that he just wanted to let me know - AFTER THE FACT! - that he'd tried sending me an email on Saturday to say that he couldn't make it, and had noticed that I'd called him at 6:40 that evening. Ah yes, his email problems had cropped up again! He wanted to get together this Saturday for the Calgary game at 7 instead, so he'll call me after he gets off work that day. Sure, why not? That sounds good!
