It's World Book Day today! The SFX Off-Topic group will NOT get a reminder this year for everybody to change their clocks for Daylight Saving Time. International members get too stroppy because "not everyone is in the United States [I could say the same to YOU since I'm in Canada!]" and "we changed our clocks last week!" Note to self: It's much easier to find lotion in any amount at London Drugs than Shoppers Drug Mart, for sure!

Decided to go to the Bay at 11:45 (just managing to get the 401) to exchange that purple Wenger suitcase for a darker one; luckily, the older lady wasn't working there to give me more nonsense about how I should only maneuver it forward and not backward! Successfully exchanged the rain-soaked purple suitcase for a a similar charcoal one instead, then decided to get some on-sale $22 Jockey underwear x3 since I'd have to do laundry later anyway before going to the Shoppers to fruitlessly look for lotion, AGAIN! I did get on-sale $2 Palmolive dish soap x2 in Green Apple and Oxy scents, though.

Walked to London Drugs and successfully found lots of 100mL lotion tubes, so I selected a Jergens Ultra Care Restoring Argan Oil before finally getting home at 1:50 on a 407 to do some laundry. Some mother in line sighed resignedly when I politely asked if I could go ahead of her since I only had one item - she showed me her basket and said she only had four items (all toddler stuff), but she GUESSED I could go ahead if I REALLY needed to... YES, I DO! ONE ITEM TAKES PRECEDENCE, AND SOME PEOPLE HAVE BUSES TO CATCH! The Canucks played Carolina tonight at 7, and won 1-0 on Petey's goal. PHEW!

Successfully exchanged the purple Wenger suitcase for a charcoal one!

9/17/19 is also a palindrome date AND MY BIRTHDAY! After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 3:30 on a 401 to help with the kids. I JUST missed the Brighouse train because of someone shoving their way onto the elevator when the door was closing, and ALMOST missed the 3 bus at Marine Drive because someone wanted to let others on the already full elevator! JESUS CHRIST! People already on the elevator have connections to make and places to go - they can wait for the next one! And no, I did not leave really late!

When I finally got to the house at about the usual time, Beckett was fussing and trying to sleep. Ayler and Hiero were doing some origami; no, they couldn't test me on my birthday since that isn't very nice! I got to see Ayler construct a tiny gift box, while Hiero put very small things in his. Ayler wanted me to look at the origami book, so I did - lots of stuff in there for sure! Later, he wanted to see if he was taller than me yet - nope, but he was also cheating (which I told him) because he was standing on the mat and I was standing on the floor. I did tell him - as usual - the demarcation between my neck and my chin. Wow, he's 4 foot 6 already?!

We had dinner earlier than Beckett, and Hiero told me something interesting about making friends in kindergarten. It's good to know the proper names of your body parts, I told him. Harmony asked what I did for my actual birthday: Uh, you're currently looking at it! Turns out Jon believed Mom when she said it was the 16th, so I told her that maybe she shouldn't automatically believe Mom, and take what SHE says with a very liberal grain of salt. Homemade tomato soup, artisan bread, sticky rice (JONG), chicken feet, spicy sausage, soft carrots, and shortbread camel cookies - I declined the relaxing tea, though!

Beckett finally got a little bit of sleep - which I agree that he needed - and then crawled to my chair and pulled himself up to say hi and eat my dragon hoodie strings. CUTE! He wanted me to play with him, so I did - without washing my hands, which I'm sure Harmony wasn't impressed with. Oh well. Sometimes you gotta let the kid lead! He laughed at the baby pop-up toy, clapped and laughed, climbed on my back to try pulling my hair (Ayler says he claws people and pulls their hair now), and seemed way more energetic than Harmony thought he should be. Maybe he just wanted to play with me since he recognizes and likes me now!

Later, he crawled into the bathroom while Ayler was in there, but I was interested to see what he gets up to inside. Turns out that he's smart and knows that his blue basin is inside the shower stall, so wants to put it on his head. I took him out of there to play with better toys on the mat, and he climbed on me when I put the soccer ball on my head. Harmony let me go early at 7:10, which was a change. There was a transit officer on the 3 Marine Drive bus already, which again did not stop anywhere randomly for a few minutes. I still was a couple minutes late for a Brighouse train, but eventually got home at 8:45. Not a bad end to my birthday at all, involving no rushing like LAST YEAR!

After COFFEE TIME, Barry picked me up at 8:30 AM for my 9:15 AM cataract consultation on Burrard with Dr. Wise. The eye exam was okay, but now I have to go in for an eye ultrasound on September 21! Thank goodness that and September payday are BEFORE Barry goes on holiday. I got him to drop me off at Oakridge Mall, so YAY FOR THAT!

It's Father's Day today. I discovered (old?) mouse turds in the storage box, so had to throw it (and stray lids) out along with all its contents: THE ASSASSIN'S CLOAK, Kleenex boxes, mini-Kleenex, papers, and more! Went out to Shoppers Drug Mart on a 407 at 11:30 to get a shrimp tempura roll for International Sushi Day tomorrow, and on-sale Jack Link's sriracha beef jerky for the London Drugs price. Then I went to London Drugs itself and bought a replacement blue 68L Rubbermaid storage box for the old mouse turd-filled one, NEW Trophy Foods peanuts x3 (Sea Salt and Cracked Black Pepper / Lime and Chili / Jalapeno), Scotch bubble wrap, on-sale Bounty paper towels, mini-packs of Kleenex x3, and on-sale Scotties Kleenex boxes x12. I got the wrong size of Kleenex AGAIN, but I'm not going to bother returning it since I already opened it. Ugh!

I headed out at 4:35 to the Boston Pizza $5 individual pizza deal event, where I got a Meateor individual pizza with some ice water. Then I went to Price Smart for on-sale Good Taste dumplings (Chicken / Cabbage and Cabbage / Pork), Campbell's cream of mushroom soup x3, and Huy Fong rooster sriracha since the Uni-Eagle sriracha isn't doing it for me. I looked at the available Cup-A-Soup boxes, but they didn't have any four-packs. At the checkout, I called out some lady for putting her unwanted items at the end of the conveyor belt right where I was going to put MY items! I said that I was not going to buy her shit by mistake, and she said "What?!" I merely stared at her and repeated myself, noting that she had way more than 10 items, including four balloons and a whole chicken. After I finally got out of there, I walked to London Drugs for a more relaxed shopping experience. I got Arm and Hammer whitening toothpaste and two boxes of chicken noodle Cup-A-Soup before finally getting home at 6:25 on a 401 since I didn't want the ice on the dumplings to melt.

Eric M. called me at 11:30 from church to say that he wouldn't be going back to Richmond, but could give me a ride back from Jeremy's. Sure, I can bus there, and I didn't have to leave the house really early at 2 PM! That gave me more time to do stuff! After COFFEE TIME (during which I almost left with my pants on backwards), I left the house at 4, and killed a slight bit of time at Kingsgate Mall. The Books, Etc. store is now 90% DVDs and puzzles! I bought NEW Moscow Mule Kettle chips, OXO beef bouillon sachets, and a Hot Beef Pho Mr. Noodles bowl from Buy-Low Foods before walking over to Jeremy's at 5:15 or so. Unfortunately, I had to see my ex-friend Randal, who mentioned to Jon's friend Mallory that he has "a passion for God and wants it to show at work" - THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU DO! I can't believe I ever liked him!

I said hi to Julie S., Ivan, Emily, Sam, Quan, Gino, Kevin, and Caleb after meeting Jon's other friend Eric (from Jacob's Well) / Angel / Mallory. Then I talked to Stanley about my 90% whiskey, his band, Peter Gabriel, the CODEX, weird acoustic dubstep, and the whiskey. I updated both Jesse and Jon's friend Rebecca about my life recently, and talked about the summer / no editing for Holly / not doing well with change / all this unknown stuff possibly impacting people's recovery (Rebecca said that my point was a very good one which she hadn't thought about before), Jacob's Well needing $50,000 and already raising $42,000 in two weeks / all my nephews loving me ("You have to stay longer! Stay all night!") / Ontario hydro bills. One guy in a Youtube / NPR video even had a traffic cone inside his saxophone, haha! Eric and I left early (after I paid $10 and he made a comment about my chips), and I got home at 9:05.

Then I noticed that Chinese Eric had called me at 5:45, so I called him back at 10. He had called me by accident, but he wanted to see if I was up for seeing a Blue Jays-Mariners game this weekend. I thought he meant a literal road trip, but thank goodness he didn't. He says it's been eight months (really six or so) since we hung out here; he's been busy and apparently had a problem with his Hotmail account, but didn't really specify what. (but did say that he had 3500 emails to sort through... JUST DELETE THEM!) We also talked about heat, a sauna, the 162-game MLB schedule, and catching up later. Hopefully, I don't have to do anything else after next Sunday for quite a while! DRAINING!
