The Canucks played the Blues tonight at 7, and won 3-1 thanks to Thatcher Demko and Bo Horvat's insurance empty-netter with five seconds remaining! Nine wins in a row, the first time since 2009! The first team all season to beat the Blues at home in regulation after they were leading in the first period!

My pasta specialty: Cream of mushroom soup, pink salmon, straw mushrooms, Gomitoni, Foglie D'Autunno, Trofie, and Trecce Dell'Orto! I made this for Mike once with far less exotic pasta (penne and macaroni?) ON MY BIRTHDAY OF ALL DAYS, and he took a few bites and declared it to be unedible. It was really not up to his lofty food standards, when I'd vetted each ingredient beforehand because he's "picky about food with parents." *rolleyes*

Vanessa and Cassidy / Shortbread, eyedrops, T&T! / Mario saving the princess!

After COFFEE TIME, Vanessa and baby Cassidy picked me up at 11:30 so we could hang out before my eye cataract surgery on Thursday. We went to the Lansdowne Mall food court to try the good dumplings / SLB / wonton at R&H House, and bubble tea at Fresh Elements. Then we walked around T&T to get Paterson's Shortbread (400 grams at $6 for Deb and Dylan), GOLDEN DRAGON SUSHI (for me), pomelos, hot and sour soup, more food, and some veggies. I didn't mind the walking around!

We talked about Jason saying some questionable things, Bev, Hester, Teunis, Krista, showing bamboo shoots to the baby (who didn't like touching it), baby sign language, the baby pointing at things and liking my red bling sweater, shower caps, and more. I did manage to get a blue $4 GOODY shower cap at the pharmacy next door when she drove me home at 2:25, so all is well on that front. It was good to see her for sure!

EDIT AT 10 PM: I went out again in the freezing weather at 8:50 on a 401 to get my Wednesday evening pre-surgery nourishment since I somehow have to not eat anything after midnight on Thursday. Thank goodness that the Stouffer's Sauté Sensations microwaveable meals were on sale for $5 each! I got Chicken Alfredo and Homestyle Beef Pot Roast, plus a NEW Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo chocolate bar! Damn self-checkout not working well... at least I got home at 9:35 on a 407 so I could finally finish the last two eyedrops doses of four!

Chrystal emailed me this morning to say that she'll actually be out of town for the next two weeks and would love to meet up with me after getting back on the 20th, so that still totally works for me even if she understandably can't do the 14th! Vanessa came by from Langley before her Richmond appointments so we could exchange stuff. I gave her a Christmas card / Eric Ho's Jersey Milk chocolate bar / Advent calendar so I could get some of her homemade chocolate peanut Eat More bars since she can't have too much sugar these days. She got here at 12:20, and we spent half an hour chatting because I got back in at 12:50. Talked about Jason, his mom, his cousin, amniotic fluid, karma, Jon and Harmony's current living situation, Ayler, the stigma around girls, Krista thinking that everyone is out to get her / ignoring the signs of abuse from her exes Andrew and Ryan (DON'T WAIT AROUND FOR THEM TO CHANGE EVEN IF THEY WANT TO!), autism, a Steveston mail truck not looking out for her, that Eastern Conference hockey chat, Jimmy and his "must not be fatter than me" dealbreaker, (water) weight, January plans, maternity leave, Richmond drivers, my periods, her NOT making any more Thanksgiving dinners for SOME PEOPLE, and it being cold today. Good to catch up at least!
