The Canucks played Chicago tonight at 7:30, and won 3-0. They even got an empty-netter! It was the Sedin jersey retirement game! The ceremony was awesome - John Shorthouse, Dave Nonis, Markus Naslund, Trevor Linden, Mike Gillis, Marc Crawford, Alex Burrows, Jannik Hansen, and so many others! The twins definitely sent their well-wishes to Jay Bouwmeester, who collapsed on the bench during last night's St. Louis-Anaheim game because of a cardiac issue! After COFFEE TIME, I left at 12:35 on a 407 for my dentist appointment with Sean on FRASER instead of Oakridge - sigh. I had to leave myself plenty of time for getting lost (seeing Krista at Gilbert and Westminster - "Ontario is a magical place because I've never been there"?!), and had to take a 99 at Broadway / Cambie, and then an 8 Fraser bus around the corner at Fraser till I got to 19th, right across from Glad Tidings church. I would have been there earlier than half an hour early if SOME PEOPLE hadn't hesitated for 45 microseconds at the Brighouse station elevator - BE EFFICIENT AND NOT SLOW WHEN OTHERS ARE PLAINLY WAITING FOR YOU AT THE DOOR! The new location has more space and okay enough wifi, plus actual hooks for your coats and things! I had to have an X-ray, but it's not my fault that my mouth is SMALL! Learned that Sean is getting married in July, too! I have to wait till July to try The Pie Hole across the street because I got fluoride as part of my treatment today. Also got a receipt where the insurance paid 100%, but for some reason, I'm keeping it for now.

Went to the Broadway London Drugs to buy an on-sale Creature Chumper with 1500 Zorbees for Hiero's birthday, on-sale Stemnex 4D Transforming Robots for Ayler's birthday, on-sale Nescafé Taster's Choice instant coffee in a 250g canister, and on-sale Andes candy cane Peppermint Crunch before going to Pho Extreme Xe Lua to have a large #17 and figure out the wi-fi from the nearby A&W. Some guy ahead of me was in a fucking hurry at the exit of London Drugs, saying "excuse me" - nope, we are both directly headed to the doors, so you will have to wait. I should have dawdled even more because he was an impatient ass! It's not like I dropped anything, after all. I also had to deal with THE most recalcitrant self-checkout machine! It wouldn't give me the correct start-up screen (thinking I had items to re-scan), wouldn't give me enough time to find a barcode, wouldn't let me scan something without a barcode (the coffee), and wouldn't let me pay without calling an attendant! UGH! SO TIME-CONSUMING!

Finally got home at 5:20, and saw Hester and Ni, so told them about the mouse / steel wool problem, which luckily I had a photo of on my phone! I did notice an odd metallic clanking sound coming from my bag, which turned out to be two of Beckett's red / white molecule balls from yesterday's throwing activities. No wonder I noticed him standing at my bag looking into it, but he does have plenty of balls, so he should be fine till next week. He did seem interested in the safety fluorescent slap bracelet, too. I'm also going to wash the socks that Harmony loaned me.

I went shopping at London Drugs at 3:25, just managing to get the 401. Got NEW on-sale Trophy Big Red butter toffee peanuts / Cajun Trail Mix peanuts, light blue GOODY toothbrush covers x2, Speed Stick deodorant x2 (Glacier / Sport... one for my trip, which Steph booked so I leave at noon, which means 10 AM airport time), Arm and Hammer sensitive toothpaste, fingernail clippers for my trip, store brand Windex glass cleaner, small sriracha sauce x2, and two on-sale GUM toothbrushes. Got home at 4:10 since the 407 was delayed by traffic from turning onto Westminster Highway sooner, and the very temporary new bus stop is right outside my apartment! The Canucks played Colorado tonight at 7, and lost 5-4 in overtime despite coming back to force the extra frame.

After a shower in the afternoon, I left at 5:05 on a 407 to get to Marine Drive by about 5:30. Since the liquor store was right next door to Dublin Crossing Pub, I went there to select my Halloween 2019 beer for this season: Phillips Crookeder Ale it was! Steve took me to the meetup table - he knew what I meant by that phrase, hah! I saw Laura again, and met Jeff / Teri / a very late Evelyn. Later, I told Steve that Nate told me that he hadn't responded to some drunken nonsense from the weekend, but Steve IS busy at (not "in") work!

We talked about TORCHLIGHT, APEX, game screenshots, "electric poop," Always changing their pad packaging to appeal to trans and "non-binary" people (really?!), Michelle's love life, Brian coming to fix Laura's dresser tomorrow, Winners being upstairs, moving to a smaller table (damn high stools!), Laura's niece, my nephews, work, and other things. Then we all left at 8:20 - Laura and Teri went to Winners while Jeff happened to be going to the station as well, but he was heading to Broadway in the opposite direction! I was home at 9:05 on a 407, but I really should have left at 8 to be home half an hour earlier like I was yesterday! At least the Compass Card machines cooperated tonight...

After LAUNDRY TIME (with the elevator STILL out of service...) and COFFEE TIME, I left at 12:15 for my Invisalign appointment, barely managing to get there on time thanks to a wheelchair JUST making me miss a Brighouse train at 12:35. (they're definitely entitled to use the elevators and trains - I might have made it with the time it took to wheel the person in and out...) The technology simulator was pretty cool, at least.

I did see Dad, which is what I'd been expecting, so I briefly discussed it and he said no if the insurance didn't cover it. I got brochures and the health angle, also expected. Once I finally got out of there at about 2, I saw Dad waiting downstairs. He unexpectedly gave me a ride home because it was really raining by then, and said a bunch of stuff about money and exactly why Mom thought finding the grave in Cuba was "urgent." (Steph will go with her in October?!) At least I got home at 2:40 so I could finally eat!

My next dentist appointment is on Jan. 8 at 2 - I had to go home, check the actual Canucks schedule, and then call the office to change it from the 7th at 1. Then I decided to finally call Dr. Ruby's office and found out that they can't just do a six-month referral to the eye clinic over the phone, since I legally have to go to the office to set it up. UGH, FINE! I guess I know what I'm doing on the day before my birthday...

I went to the eye clinic at 9:45 on a 401 (which I got just in time) for the six-week followup today at 10:45 after COFFEE TIME (20/30 vision is a good improvement even if I can't read fine print), then had lunch at Yaohan before seeing Rachel at the Caring Place for the last time. At Brighouse, I encountered a rude wheelchair old man idiot who assumed I was cutting him off at the fare gates - nope, I'm just faster than you, and other people also have places to go! He should also watch what he says and isn't the only person entitled to the fare gates. Any empathy I might have had for him having only one leg was just drained in that moment.

Dr. Wise recommended cheap reading glasses for now since my eyes still look healthy, and wants me to come back in six months on January 3. I went to Yaohan and killed the memory dragon of messaging people on the 6 Davie / 6 Downtown bus routes. Got beef internal noodles with wonton for lunch, and Lays lime chips / Lays cucumber chips in big bags for Rachel, Campbell's mushroom soup x2, a NEW on-sale Double-Ridged Lays chips package in Spicy Chicken and BBQ Pork (two each), MyKuali Penang Red Tom Yum Goong noodles, and NEW MyKuali spicy prawn noodles at Osaka Supermarket.

After the wrap-up session, I briefly went to Shoppers to buy on-sale Ben and Jerry's IF I HAD A MILLION FLAVORS and PEANUT BUTTER HALF-BAKED ice cream for Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day on July 1 coming up! No more frozen items until I eat some - the freezer can't fit anything else except air molecules! Got home at 4:25 on a 407, which is totally fine. Then I took a shower and discovered that Jon had made a reservation under his name at the Lion's Den for Randal's birthday on Sunday at 6. Nice!

Hester's husband Ni came by with someone from head office at 9:15 AM for a brief suite inspection today. His apologizing for bothering me was a first! Later, the Panasonic inverter microwave gave me an H97 error, which will cost $250 to $400 to fix. It's cheaper just to buy a new microwave starting from $80 or so! I called Barry about this, who agreed to help me pick up a new microwave next time.

Then Paulo came over at 4:30 to pick up Knorr hot and sour soup mix, Nissin sesame oil noodles to go with it, Koka Tomato noodles, Koka spicy black pepper noodles, Samyang Jjajang spicy Korean bean sauce noodles (chicken bomb terrorist noodles!), Maggi Letup Curry Kari Cili Api noodles, Penang white Curry Mee noodles, and Paldo spicy cheese Ramyun noodles. He also helped me with that stopgap Danby Designers 700-watt microwave after I cleaned the counter with a sponge. Surprisingly, it wasn't icky afterwards! I'll have to figure out how to get the Panasonic microwave to the electronics recycling depot. Pothead Mike thinks Mike is dead and is trying to reach out to me - HA HA HA!

Tried to cook some Delissio calzones in the microwave for lunch at 1:10. Got the dreaded H97 error instead! It had been smoking while cooking for a few days before this... good thing I didn't start a fire! My ex Mike's mom Vivian's boyfriend Robert bought it for me, so I guess it's fitting that the microwave gave up the ghost on what would have been our sixth anniversary.

A Christmas card with stickers, red and pink CHRISTMAS HOUSE penguin socks, a fun and fuzzy JOT ballpoint pen, Women Daredevils: Thrills, Chills, and Frills (Julie Cummins / Cheryl Harness), eight sticker sheets (Christmas glitter / wild animals / truck stickers which Ayler and Hiero would probably stick all over the floor if I gave it to them / five more assorted sheets), two fun and encouraging little notebooks ("You can do this!" / "Best day ever!"), and a penguin pouch of Cappuccino For You! Eric Ho also finally emailed me back, saying that with his current work schedule, the 27th is the only date that could work for a hockey hangout before the new year. Well, at least he'll keep me posted!

The computer restarted at 6 AM! I called Barry at 9:40 this morning to remind him about going to Rona for a Victor Pest Chaser Ultrasonic Rodent Repeller, which cost $33. Canada / Oh Henry 4:25 Pop-Up candy bar, barkTHINS snacking dark chocolate with pumpkin seeds for Thanksgiving dinner, NEW limited edition Doritos Late Night Fully-Loaded Nacho chips, and HALLS assorted mint cough drops. I went out at 12:20 on a 414 to do some shopping for on-sale Halloween candy and Advent calendars. After COFFEE TIME, I went out at 1:40 on a 401 (just missing a 407!) to do some shopping before seeing Rachel at The Caring Place. I got some takeout Boston Pizza Pasta Tuesday for National Pasta Month in October (Jambalaya Fettuccini!), then went to Price Smart while waiting on that. Bought some NEW on-sale limited edition Doritos Dinamita Chile Limón snacks, NEW on-sale limited edition Doritos Dinamita Nacho Picoso snacks, beef tripe with ginger and green onion for World Tripe Day tomorrow, NEW on-sale Cinnamon Bun Oreos, and NEW on-sale Birthday Cake Oreo Cookies!

When I finally got home at 3:55 on a 407, I discovered that the spicy sauce from the tripe container somehow got on my Oreo cookie packages... YUCK AND EW! I had to open the cookies and put them all in a huge Ziploc bag! Luckily, it didn't seem to get on the Doritos chips packages. (why didn't the cashier put the tripe in a separate bag...)
