COFFEE TIME! Christon sent me an Evite to a potluck-style Sunday birthday dinner for him and Jeremy, which I automatically RSVPed to without checking the date. Now I have, and it's October 1 - no hockey conflicts! Maybe I'll just pick up a cake from Buy-Low for the Gwei-Loh right before dinner. The Canucks had Pre-Season Game #4 against the Kings today in SHANGHAI at 4:30 AM, and lost 5-2.

After Walse Tower (AKA Bill and Ben's Playhouse) sinks in FINAL FANTASY V SPOOF, Syldra comes in to save the day for Bartz / Lenna / Galuf / Faris! Only her name is Beano in the spoof, and he seemingly comes from another planet... "No, Bartz! Beano wasn't trying to eat us! He... saved us!"

Bartz, Lenna, Galuf, and Faris make it back to Castle Walse in FINAL FANTASY V SPOOF. This castle guard says, "During the king's battle with HeavyP, a man was violently expelled from the creature's ass."

Bartz, Lenna, Galuf, and Faris make it back to Castle Walse in FINAL FANTASY V SPOOF. This castle guard says, "He was apparently in there for about 50 years, living as a sort of human tapeworm."

Bartz, Lenna, Galuf, and Faris make it back to Castle Walse in FINAL FANTASY V SPOOF, where the king has killed himself after the events in Bill and Ben's Playhouse. The party comes across this soldier in bed. "I've been living in a monster's intestines for 50 years. Go figure. I can finally eat real food again."

I noticed that Joyce - whose birthday is today - had unfriended me from Facebook. Her loss! It was also COFFEE TIME by default since I got up at 7:20 AM. Mike B. had sent me a cool message to wish me a happy early birthday, so that definitely made me smile!

"You See the World as Somewhat Just"

You don't see the world in simple terms. What's just and unjust is complicated.
You believe that justice is sometimes served, both in and outside the courts. But there is plenty of injustice to go around.

You don't expect anyone to treat you fairly or unfairly. You do your best to protect yourself from life's uncertainty.
You consider any justice you receive to be a bonus, but it's certainly not the norm.

"You Are Very Frank"

You are the type of person who tells it like it is. You aren't going to insult people by lying to them.
Your friends can count on you for an honest opinion, whether they ask for it or not. And sometimes the truth isn't pretty.

You are never mean or overly harsh with your frank ways. But if you have to choose, you go for honesty over tact.
You believe that the truth will set us all free. We all suffer when we lie to ourselves and each other.

"Your Imperfect Heart is Honest"

Your heart is imperfect because it is so intuitive and perceptive. You tend to know the deal without people needing to say it.
You may read between the lines, but you don't expect others to. You are very truthful - and even brutally frank - when it comes to love.

You are faithful and devoted to the person that you choose to love. Your heart doesn't waver or stray.
You can be a bit obsessive when your heart is set on someone. You'll face it - you're addicted to love.

Since I woke up at 7:30 AM, it was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT! Hester's husband Ni and a suite inspector guy came by later at 10:35 for the annual suite inspection. I got the suite inspector guy (who said that the sink was losing its shine - DUH?!) to help me remove that dead mouse on the glue trap behind the couch. No, he was not allowed to put it in the kitchen garbage can! I had readied a London Drugs plastic bag (and rubber gloves if needed) for that purpose earlier! Ni said again that the pest control would come by next month, so I called him on that. Apparently, he'd forgotten that it was now August. Still, I shouldn't have to live with that for weeks! I went out to throw the London Drugs plastic bag in the dumpster outside, then liberally applied white vinegar to that area of the carpet. I don't care what the management thinks about a temporary wet floor!

I was up at 6:30 AM, so it was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT! My glasses arm broke at approximately 7 AM this morning, so since I was going to go out to the nearby medical clinic anyway (removal for hearing!), I went to Factory Direct / Factory Optical. At least this time, I don't have Korey trying to manipulate me into seeing him instead (and into being "best friends" with Randal) like I did in early January 2008, although white Eric's concern about transit was good! The Canada Line took me to Factory Direct / Factory Optical way sooner than transit did back then, too!

My only problem was being unable to find my spare glasses in any drawer! Before I left, I called the medical clinic to see about their walk-in schedule. I got an appointment at 4:30, so I went out to the glasses place first. It was definitely more convenient to use the Canada Line to bus to Broadway and Ash: just get off at Olympic Village and walk not even half a block! The repair cost $25! I got home at 12:45 on a 407, at least. Then the clinic called me at 4:15 to check whether I was still coming in - of course! Dr. Schmaltz (?) was filling in and did my removal for hearing in an efficient manner, so I got home at 4:50. Not bad!

Since I was up at 8:20 AM, it was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT! Later, Lucas thought that I was bullying Maddie because I've taken to using the word "sriracha" around her since her Discord screen name is "Maddie the Jirachi." Not my fault that they sound similar! They're both special snowflake teenagers! So then he banned me from his Discord server partly because he thinks that my bringing up the age difference is "pretentious" - hey, it's definitely not my fault that their 18-year-old brains haven't fully developed yet! Later, Alexandra FINALLY broke up with him for not telling her what was going on with him, and I let her know that he seemed controlling and narcissistic as well. I showered tonight.

I was up at 7:15 AM, so it was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT! Then I discovered that my bags of NEW Dutch Gourmet chips (Mozzarella and Jalapeno Cheddar) were expired when I bought them last week (June 12 and June 20), so I at least tried some of both flavors before throwing them out. Then I noticed that my dumplings and other things had melted ice all over them, and decided to write Hester a note before the long weekend (and left a message on Barry's voicemail) - when I got up to her suite, she was actually there, but figuring out laundry tokens for some dude. GOOD TIMING! She read the note, asked what "adjusting" meant (?!), and decided to go with me to my suite right then. While there, she saw the dumplings bag which I'd kept for proof, adjusted the numbers again on BOTH the fridge and freezer, told me not to touch them, said she'd probably be back tomorrow, and was surprised that there was a long weekend coming up at all. Right after she left, Barry called me back to see what was going on. He said to let him know what was up tomorrow, then.

Since I got up at 7:25 AM, it was COFFEE TIME! Later, I called Seafair Safeway customer service to see if I could return Oakridge Safeway items there instead. Since I could, I made plans to go there to return the Tostitos / Mrs. Renfro's salsa since I can't open it even with the jar opener! Before going out at 12:30, I called Chrystal at work to confirm things for tomorrow since I didn't want to waste a shower later, and we are on! At Seafair, they gave me grief about not specifying the brand and type of salsa since they didn't sell the Ghost Pepper there, so they'd have to throw it out. That's not my problem if I just want to return it - and no, I was not going back to the Oakridge Safeway!

When I got on the 402 back to Brighouse, I was surprised when someone called my name. It turned out that Uncle Peter and Auntie Ying were on that bus, having come from a massage and then doing some shopping later! So of course I talked to them all the way to Brighouse! I browsed Shoppers briefly, then bought Heluva Good dip (French Onion / Dill Pickle) which has a limited shelf life but is WAY EASIER to open, Welch's prune juice (which I could open WITHOUT the jar opener for now), NEW Tasty Bite Thai Lime rice, NEW Tasty Bite Thai Penang Ginger Curry sauce, and a dark blue GOODY toothbrush holder at London Drugs before getting home at 2:40 on a 407 in the rainy weather.

After a nap and such later, I went out at 4:30 (just missing the 401 and just managing to get the C94 instead) to go to the Apple Store at Richmond Centre to hopefully finish my WORMS tagging on Facebook since it just gave me a spinny loading icon no matter what I tried at home. The same thing happened over there! At least I stumbled upon a 99-cent sale for both White Cheddar and Broccoli Sidekicks (I bought four) and President's Choice Blue Menu Six Bean Medley cans (I bought five) ... so since the beans sale ends on June 2, I'll get some more on Thursday! It saves me 70 cents a can from the London Drugs price for a can of beans right now! Then I waited FOREVER for a 407 at Brighouse, getting home at 5:55!

After MORE COFFEE TIME, I went out at 5 (just getting the 401) to see Ayler and Hiero for a while for Ayler's fifth birthday as I'd planned with Harmony yesterday, who said it was sweet of me. I had Hiero's peace sign / ice cream / cupcake / doughnut / SESAME STREET / cats with sunglasses stickers and Ayler's emoji / stars / glow-in-the-dark MARVEL Heroes stickers, dinosaur birthday card, Slinky toy, and pre-historic dinosaur toys. Uncle Joe and Auntie Wing Yee were at the house as advertised, and asked if I was staying for an early and simple dinner of rice / broccoli / meat / water. Sure, why not? Ayler asked "why" questions a lot (like "why did Auntie make that face?" Because I had to sneeze!), and he apparently understands the concept of a square root already if you phrase it correctly! Both Harmony and I do not do math, so he'll have to figure it out some other way! Then he asked, "Why did Grandpa say DIE?" and some other things!

At least both boys seemed to love the Slinky (which is higher than them when stretched out), and took a couple of dinosaur toys to the Jacob's Well concert later on. (which I declined to attend) Hiero wanted me to lift him up from his eating chair after he was done eating a tiny mandarin orange for dinner, so I did that. He gave me a few stickers on my jeans, and Ayler talked a lot about the tunnels and ramps at Marine Drive. Hey, I know those because I went past there on the Skytrain to see everyone! At least I managed to get home at 7:20 on a 407, then talked to Lena on FB chat about special snowflakes and pronouns and edgy disrespect from a "friend"!

After I had COFFEE TIME and called London Drugs customer service to find out when their current sale ends on Rubbermaid dish drainers (May 28), Barry picked me up at 12:45 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I bought on-sale Classico pasta sauce x2 (Four Cheese and Tomato / Pesto), noodles, a shower pouf, Teriyaki Rice / Noodles Sidekicks, preserved vegetables, on-sale Cheemo perogies x2 (Country Mushroom and Potato / Bacon / Romano Cheese), pork and tri-treasure / lamb and onion / pork and vegetable / pork and chives JOY dumplings at the Big Crazy price (which saves me a trip out there if it's the same price), on-sale store brand paper towels, and JML chicken and mushroom noodles. I also got on-sale Western Family French Vanilla ice cream, NEW Pillsbury poutine Pizza Pops in a special edition (I love the alliteration!), NEW Pillsbury cheese pizza bites, NEW Pillsbury pepperoni pizza bites, Juzz Mee curry noodles, a BC roll for $3.99 (better than the 22-piece $10.99 assorted rolls if the expiry date is still tomorrow, May 25), Vedan noodles x2 (Spicy Mushroom / Cuttlefish and Mushroom), and on-sale Ruffles chips x3. (Loaded Potato Skins / Sour Cream and Bacon / All-Dressed) I also saw preserved Cordia seeds while I was in the Chinese jars aisle, so made a note of that to tell Citrus so he can tell his sister.

While I was at the store, I helped a random white guy with some Nissin black garlic oil noodles, and told an old grandma that her shawl looked pretty. (it had Japanese women with fans on it!) She at least thanked me! When I got home at 2:10, Barry did agree to help me with changing the batteries on the phone in my bedroom, which is good. Afterwards, I paid my Shaw bill online today, then somehow unplugged my computer speakers while trying to figure some stuff out! My cashier recognized me, and so we chatted a bit - his name is Ray, and he has a white half-beard thing. I left again at 6:30 to London Drugs, where I got a new on-sale dish drainer (April 11, 2015) on Aisle 1 / on-sale purple GUM Comfort Slide flossers since today was the last day of their being on sale currently / an on-sale Slinky toy plus an on-sale Redbox pre-historic dinosaur toy set with trees (#24359) for Ayler's birthday.

I got a much more helpful computer associate this time (yesterday's associate had told me to go to the front for checkout and didn't seem interested in customer service), who sold me a black Microsoft Wired 600 keyboard for $20. Thank goodness it worked when I got home at 8:30 (just missing a 407 and having to wait for the next one), after a mini heart attack when it initially wouldn't work to put in my password at startup! This one is quieter and much lighter, too! Time to email Harmony to see when a good time would be to drop off the gifts, or see Ayler too, I guess. NOW MY MOUSE AND KEYBOARD ARE FREE OF MIKE AND HIS TAINT!

From the Staples Canada Facebook wall: a six-pack of Cross fountain pen ink cartridge refills and a five-pack of Parker Quink ink cartridge refills with fountain permanent ink are $999,999.99 each?!

It was COFFEE TIME this morning at 8 AM since I had maybe six hours of sleep!

In MOTHER 2 DELUXE, Jeff Andonuts makes it to Dr. Andonuts' Lab south of Stonehenge. Look at this glitchy Sky Walker! You should see it when it's flying to the town of Threek... thank goodness it worked to fly in when I exited the lab and entered again for a better version of the machine! I see a bit of an Instant Revitalizing Device!

Glitches galore! )

From Reddit: Hello, darkness, my old friend. BLACK COFFEE (OR TEA) RULES!

In MOTHER 2 DELUXE, Ness / Paula / Jeff finally make it to Fourside. They meet this garden-variety mole, who tells them that even PPK Spirit can be dodged if the target has enough Speed. Luck and Speed are much more important stats in this game than the original, that's definitely for sure!

Here are Ness, Jeff, and the Teddy Bear in Fourside's Department Store!

From Janina: Crazy cat lady action figure!

Whenever a publisher's style guidelines eschew use of the Oxford comma, I can only assume that this results from a managerial decision to save money by cutting back on ink, because no reasonable editor would make this decision.

From Discord: Mary had a little lamb. HAD. Let's barbecue the lamb on a spit instead!

Since I woke up at 6:15 AM, I had COFFEE TIME! Later, I had Laksa La Mian with straw mushrooms for a little variety as my dinner!

From Youtube documentaries: Faryion Wardrip was a serial killer?! Makes me think of "fairy on"! What makes this REALLY weird is that his brother has a normal name: Bryce!

I paid my Shaw and hydro bills online today. Barry picked me up at 1 after I had COFFEE TIME, and we went to both banks before heading to Price Smart. I bought Gatorade Cool Blue Raspberry x6, Excel White gum x3, $1 Sidekicks (Teriyaki Noodles / Tomato Alfredo x2 / Three Cheese x3 / Creamy Chicken Fusilli x3 / White Cheddar Queso / Teriyaki Rice / Singapore Curry Noodles x2 / Garlic Butter with Lemon x2 / Creamy Parmesan), NEW on-sale Western Family Loaded Chocolate Sundae ice cream in a limited edition ($2 off!), NEW Häagen-Dazs Spirits Vodka Key Lime Pie ice cream, Western Family fusilli (900 grams) / Western Family rotini (900 grams) / Western Family penne rigate (900 grams) / NEW Western Family macaroni (900 grams) / NEW Western Family Cavatappi pasta / NEW Western Family Casarecce pasta, on-sale bottled water x2 (two for $7 when the regular price was $6.75 for ONE!), and Silk almond milk x2.

I also got NEW Ruffles Mozzarella and Marinara chips (and told Sam on Discord later), on-sale All-Bran Buds ($2 off!), on-sale Honey and Lemon Strepsils (50 cents off!), Indomie Mi Goreng BBQ Chicken noodles, Silk almond vanilla milk x2, Mama shrimp tom yum noodles, on-sale Mamee Monster BBQ noodle snacks (almost $2 off!), on-sale Mamee Monster chicken noodle snacks (almost $2 off!), Vedan Bah Kut tea noodles x2, Vedan Mushroom / Cuttlefish noodles, and bananas. Turns out I saved $33.92 today, which is good! When I got home, I put $20 aside in an envelope for whenever Chrystal and I go out to dinner, then promptly spilled half the All-Bran Buds on my dining room table! Good thing that nothing got on the carpet, which is practically the same color as the cereal! For cleanup purposes, I wiped all the cereal detritus with a damp cloth after scooping most of it into the Ziploc bag!

From Buzzfeed: OH, RICK! What the heck?!

Since I was up early at 4:50 AM (ugh), I had some COFFEE TIME. I finally unsubscribed from Trivia Today and Bizarre News because of all the ads that Gopher Central and PulseTV were letting through - atrocious! There was a Shaw and phone outage at 11:30, so I decided to go to bed. Woke up at 1:30, and the phone was working, so I tried to call Chrystal at work to see when a good time would be to get together. Apparently, she was off today through Thursday. Okay, then!

From Janina: NASCAR presents the Walmart 500.

Since I was up at 6:45 AM today, it was COFFEE TIME! Then I made a post in r/vancouver asking if anyone wanted my Vancouver Art Gallery pass which expires on the 30th. I don't think Eric Ho is actually available even though I sent him two emails about it. Someone from Reddit named Jamie said that they could take it from me after the Sun Run, which was right then at 9 AM. Luckily, I had more than enough time to properly draft entries / eat some Butter and Herb Sidekicks / dress in normal clothes / put everything in my pockets before heading to the Vancouver City Centre London Drugs downtown at 11:35 or so on a 407. I was there at 12:20 and stood around for a while until Jamie figured out that I was there. We chatted briefly about playoff hockey and the Art Gallery pass; he invited me to coffee, but there's no need for him to pay me back for that, haha. I got home at 1:25 on a 407 after buying some 180-tablet melatonin at the London Drugs since it was right there. Nope, I definitely did not need a bag for that!

From my FAST-ACTING LONG-LASTING Bathroom Reader #18: Alabama Vest?!

London Naturals melatonin: 180 tablets for $9.99!

Since I was up at 7 AM, it was COFFEE TIME! When Uncle Andrew's dentist office called me at 10:10 to remind me of my upcoming dentist appointment, I decided to reschedule it to May 17. Hopefully, that will give me enough time to get my flossing done! I called Chrystal at work today at 12:20 to wish her a happy early birthday since Easter weekend is coming up and she IS busy! She definitely appreciated that!

Since I woke up at 6:45 AM, it was COFFEE TIME!

From DYING TO SLEEP, which is about Fatal Familial Insomnia: An OLD guy named Greyden White?!

From Eve: Not everyone is going to understand you. Some souls just don't align. Some have never seen such brilliant stardust. Some can't handle your fucking shine.

From Total Hockey: Tell your boss or teacher not to expect too much from you starting tomorrow... It's NHL playoff time!

Why am I up now, at 8:15?! More time for THE PROJECT, but still... SO SLEEPY!

Decided to call Auntie Ying last night at about 9:30. She seemed happy to hear from me, especially when I said I'd been trying to reach her for the past week! Apparently, her aunt (father's sister) died recently at the age of 93 (!), but Auntie Ying said that there was good news. I kinda knew what this "good news" would be, given her religious convictions, and I was right: the lady had rejected her 80 years of Buddhism, and converted to Christianity a couple of months before her death. Before I had time to roll my eyes too much at that, she said that her mom was calling her to discuss funeral arrangements or something. Phew! I said I'd call her again tonight, but we'll see about project progress first. We wished each other a happy belated birthday; she had seen my Facebook wish, but it hurts her to type. Okay, then...

Barry called a bit ahead of schedule (as usual!), but I was ready to leave. Couldn't find brown rice sushi at the store, but perhaps it was too early in the day at 10 AM. I did get on-sale Kraft Dinner which can be microwaved ($1 each!), IOGO yogurt (key lime pie / caffelatte / strawberry parfait / raspberry-chocolate / creme caramel), on-sale Hon's beef / chicken / pork / vegetarian potstickers, on-sale almond milk x3, and on-sale toilet paper. Also bought on-sale Green Giant mixed frozen vegetables, abalone / ham noodles, barbecue chicken satay noodles, perogies, spicy beef noodles, Ivory body wash x2 (waterlily / aloe), bananas, and a cute stuffed animal for Ayler. Should be good enough for me, even if YM doesn't work for now!
