Today is National French Fry Day!

From Lynne Jamison: I may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm someone's double vodka.

My ex-friend Veronica Hudon, whom I met through the Blood Games in 2008!

At last! A grammatically-correct LOLcat! I am in your forum... posting in a grammatically accurate manner.

glowing_dragon: (OMFG Yay!)
I discovered redrum today... ugh! Then Hester, her husband Ni, and two strong delivery guys dropped by at 1:45 with my BRAND NEW FRIDGE AND FREEZER from Moffat Applicances! That replaced my very old White-Westinghouse fridge and freezer from the 80s, which finally conked out in mid-May or mid-June. I wasn't impressed when Hester called me "N-G," and when the guys left my blue towel (which they used to wipe the back of the old fridge) on the bush outside the front door. I was going to throw it out anyway, but REALLY? At least I was able to save most of my fridge magnets AND the "peeing in toilet" decal from Granville Island!

From Janina and Team Crazy: I'm not a tomboy, but I'm not a girly girl, either. Like, I wanna get my nails done, but then again, I wanna set shit on fire.

From my ex-friend Lucas's Discord: Someone flushed the PLEASE FLUSH sign down the toilet!

From Julie S. and Wish: Poop emoji socks!

From 2Day FM: "Why does toilet paper need a commercial? Who is not buying it?" I remember a toilet paper STORE that my family and I used to pass every time we went for lunch at the Louis Garden restaurant next door. Bonus: It used to be an adult video store.

From my ex-friend Lucas and Discord: DRAGON ROLLER COASTER!

This HAGAR THE HORRIBLE comic strip is from Julie. Lucky Eddie: "Look what I got you, boy! Little Dragon Treats! Now Gluten Free! Miniature dragons make the best pets! And they're USEFUL! Watch him start a campfire! What can your dog do?" Hagar: "Go ahead, boy! Put it out!"

glowing_dragon: (Happy Birthday!)
I got up at 8 AM, so it was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT!

HAPPY CANADA DAY! 150 YEARS OLD! YAY FOR THE SESQUICENTENNIAL!

From Aaron: Canada 150!

From Janina and Rebel Circus: The fact that there's a highway to hell and only a stairway to heaven says a lot about anticipated traffic numbers.

From Julie S. and Snapchat: Homemade crap dip?!

glowing_dragon: (Crazy-Eyed Bear)
Since I was up at 8:20 AM, it was COFFEE TIME BY DEFAULT! Later, Lucas thought that I was bullying Maddie because I've taken to using the word "sriracha" around her since her Discord screen name is "Maddie the Jirachi." Not my fault that they sound similar! They're both special snowflake teenagers! So then he banned me from his Discord server partly because he thinks that my bringing up the age difference is "pretentious" - hey, it's definitely not my fault that their 18-year-old brains haven't fully developed yet! Later, Alexandra FINALLY broke up with him for not telling her what was going on with him, and I let her know that he seemed controlling and narcissistic as well. I showered tonight.

From FreeThought Blogs on May 30, 2017: "How many intersections can you cram in one feminist? Trans, queer, leather girl, poly, sex-positive, survivor, political anarchist, and of course, atheist." THOSE ARE NOT INTERSECTIONS! I see no street signs or traffic lights in that description!

From Affinity Magazine on April 17, 2017: Misgendering transgender people is NOT violence or psychological abuse! Just ask the people who endure(d) REAL violence or psychological abuse!

glowing_dragon: (Cherry Cheesecake or Pie)
Hester came by at 4:20 to check the freezer. As I thought, the dumplings did not freeze overnight! Thank goodness I kept that old bag for proof, as she'll NOW call maintenance after the long weekend. I guess I can call Barry on Tuesday, then.

From Janina: Christian Grey from FIFTY SHADES OF GREY says, "I'm Mr. Grey, and I can bring all your sexual fantasies to life." Dr. Frank N Furter from the ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW says, "Bitch, please."

From Julie S. and Snapchat: The Good Guys classic burger contains ANUS beef?! Then there's a CHICKEN POX pie?!

glowing_dragon: (Vancouver Canucks hockey!)
Julie S. reminded me via Facebook chat to check my mail for the thing she sent me. So I did, and discovered a small box. I got a card with cherries on it, a Canucks-themed bracelet, and various lion / giraffe / elephant / seal / fox / bear / cat / Leonardo / Michaelangelo / Donatello / Raphael / Snow White / Cinderella / Disney stickers from Julie in the mail today in a Paul Newman's Organic Popcorn box - THANKS! :D

I also found a photo of the bracelet online by Googling "Canucks metal bracelet," too! WHEE!

Bracelet in Canucks colors!

From GHOSTS AND GOBLINS: Being the wise and COURAGDOUR knight that you are, you feel STRONGTH welling in your body. Return to starting point. Challenge again!

From Julie S. and Snapchat: Spic-fried meats?! Also, chips (fries) are not sheeps!

Relm in Mysidia, on Sabin: "What? Who is this puffed-up aerobics instructor, anyway?"

glowing_dragon: (Devilish Smile)
After seeing KFC referenced on Not Always Right, I decided that I had to go out and get some for lunch at 2:10, just managing to get the C94. I got a six-piece combo for $10.50, and the price and quantity was better than what I was expecting! Before that, I went to Indigo Spirit / Chapters to browse, and got Strange History (Bathroom Readers' Institute). I even asked about getting a replacement Plum Rewards card (like I did last time I was there), and actually got one! HA! to the clerk last time who said they didn't have any more physical cards! No, I didn't get a bookmark, but I have plenty of spares here at home. I got home at 3:10 on a 407, and now I want to make a Facebook album devoted to the books I've read or owned. Getting all the book covers will take a while, but Goodreads will make the whole process slightly easier!

From Krista: Sea serpent dragon capsizing a ship!

From Janina: Hey, Laser Lips! Your mother was a snowblower!

From Julie S. and Snapchat: A foul festival with food?! Also, a steamed vegetable item on a menu includes SWEET PORN?!

Rare item in FINAL FANTASY VI: THE ETERNAL CRYSTALS: Fish: A rotten fish.

glowing_dragon: (Bubble Tea)
I think it's amusing that I'm mentioning Teunis and Krista in the same post since they used to go out with each other and are now exes, haha. :D

After MORE COFFEE TIME, I went out at 6:15 to mail Lisa's Twisted Whiskers goldfish in martini birthday card to her at the London Drugs post office. Then I went to the Richmond Centre Dining Terrace food court (eating some food first - vegetable chow mein, mixed vegetables, pepper steak, and slightly spicy Kung Pao chicken from Kung Pao Wok) to meet up briefly with Teunis so to return a Christmas-themed envelope with Teunis's name on it, plus a Percy Jackson and Olympians: The Lightning Thief DVD box. At least, I intended it to be briefer than it was. He brought his wife and child (Rochelle and Heidi) from Burnaby, and we both got closure on what happened in 2011, which is nice. Discussed his not talking to Jasmine anymore (good!), understanding, being stressed out, no online following (which is totally fine), vegetables, his treating me to a mango oolong bubble tea with small pearls from Fair Bee Bubble Tea (I was too fast for him when it came to dinner food!), and my nephews.

We also talked about their Vietnamese food with sauces and shrimp salad rolls, Heidi wanting to give me her used plastic cutlery, his meeting Mike once briefly, our lives now, shaking hands, web design, Heidi's impatience / thinking it was Metrotown with the train for kids / liking all the lights, the Canucks, Vikings, my learning the importance of non-rushed alone time / non-emergencies, and a floor plan of the mall. I got home with leftovers at 8:20 on a 407, which is good because it was still light out. At least he says that it's good to see I'm doing much better, and I can say the same for him as well.

From Julie: A dragon refining a castle with his breath!

From Krista: Cloud water dragon with a green imp and trees!

I discovered today that David Emery unfriended me on Facebook, which is fine.

glowing_dragon: (Bert and Ernie)
I went out to the pharmacy next door at 1:30 to get my prescription refilled. It's slightly better than telling them every time on the phone that I don't have or remember a prescription number! I was home at 1:45, only to discover that I couldn't tag non-friends on Facebook anymore! UGH!

Chrystal gave me a surprise phone call at 8:35, saying that she knew we were supposed to meet up tomorrow, but work has been absolutely crazy since a supervisor resigned. Luckily for Chrystal, she's not the new supervisor! We finally figured out a new date to meet up: Friday, June 9 at the usual place, which is the London Drugs across the street from Broadway Station. Then we just caught up by phone: her nephew Ethan likes learning about numbers and clocks, and would love musical toy mats! We talked about Ayler turning five tomorrow, Steph being in town recently, Emily and Mike finally completing their move (and selling a lot of furniture online), Father's Day being around June 16 (June 18), and my dropping by to see Ayler tomorrow afternoon. She thanked me for being so flexible, and said that I was her mental health break, haha. Cool, I guess!

Kelli Rose on Not Always Right on May 17, 2017: "In our house, my son is a panromantic bisexual polyamorous trans boy, my daughter is a panromantic polyamorous asexual, my spouse is bi, and I'm polysexual, but we appear heteronormative because we're cis. We've had places be very accepting, and places be not at all accepting. It's like sometimes only the LG part of LGBT+ counts." So basically at her house, everyone has sex with everyone else and all their visitors. Okay, then!

After I had COFFEE TIME and called London Drugs customer service to find out when their current sale ends on Rubbermaid dish drainers (May 28), Barry picked me up at 12:45 and we went banking and to Price Smart. I bought on-sale Classico pasta sauce x2 (Four Cheese and Tomato / Pesto), noodles, a shower pouf, Teriyaki Rice / Noodles Sidekicks, preserved vegetables, on-sale Cheemo perogies x2 (Country Mushroom and Potato / Bacon / Romano Cheese), pork and tri-treasure / lamb and onion / pork and vegetable / pork and chives JOY dumplings at the Big Crazy price (which saves me a trip out there if it's the same price), on-sale store brand paper towels, and JML chicken and mushroom noodles. I also got on-sale Western Family French Vanilla ice cream, NEW Pillsbury poutine Pizza Pops in a special edition (I love the alliteration!), NEW Pillsbury cheese pizza bites, NEW Pillsbury pepperoni pizza bites, Juzz Mee curry noodles, a BC roll for $3.99 (better than the 22-piece $10.99 assorted rolls if the expiry date is still tomorrow, May 25), Vedan noodles x2 (Spicy Mushroom / Cuttlefish and Mushroom), and on-sale Ruffles chips x3. (Loaded Potato Skins / Sour Cream and Bacon / All-Dressed) I also saw preserved Cordia seeds while I was in the Chinese jars aisle, so made a note of that to tell Citrus so he can tell his sister.

While I was at the store, I helped a random white guy with some Nissin black garlic oil noodles, and told an old grandma that her shawl looked pretty. (it had Japanese women with fans on it!) She at least thanked me! When I got home at 2:10, Barry did agree to help me with changing the batteries on the phone in my bedroom, which is good. Afterwards, I paid my Shaw bill online today, then somehow unplugged my computer speakers while trying to figure some stuff out! My cashier recognized me, and so we chatted a bit - his name is Ray, and he has a white half-beard thing. I left again at 6:30 to London Drugs, where I got a new on-sale dish drainer (April 11, 2015) on Aisle 1 / on-sale purple GUM Comfort Slide flossers since today was the last day of their being on sale currently / an on-sale Slinky toy plus an on-sale Redbox pre-historic dinosaur toy set with trees (#24359) for Ayler's birthday.

I got a much more helpful computer associate this time (yesterday's associate had told me to go to the front for checkout and didn't seem interested in customer service), who sold me a black Microsoft Wired 600 keyboard for $20. Thank goodness it worked when I got home at 8:30 (just missing a 407 and having to wait for the next one), after a mini heart attack when it initially wouldn't work to put in my password at startup! This one is quieter and much lighter, too! Time to email Harmony to see when a good time would be to drop off the gifts, or see Ayler too, I guess. NOW MY MOUSE AND KEYBOARD ARE FREE OF MIKE AND HIS TAINT!

From the Staples Canada Facebook wall: a six-pack of Cross fountain pen ink cartridge refills and a five-pack of Parker Quink ink cartridge refills with fountain permanent ink are $999,999.99 each?!

At 12:35, I called Chrystal to see when a good time would be for us to get together this month. The move apparently did not go smoothly last week, as Emily's still organizing a bunch of stuff at both places. I didn't mind meeting at the end of the month, as it gives me more time to NOT feel rushed: Friday the 26th at 6:30 sounds good to me! Yeah, I suggested that she write it down somewhere after the phone call so she'd remember, haha. I did also tell her to say hi to everyone, and tell them that I hoped everything else would go well. Then I went out at 3 on a 401 to London Drugs so I could get 200 Mead index cards, a pair of replacement black Secret relaxed fit socks since ANOTHER pair had holes in them, a MACHINE-WASHABLE taupe Splash Softee bath mat to replace the one from 29 January 2015, NEW Uncle Lee's organic white tea, and NEW Uncle Lee's organic green tea. I got home at 3:45 on a 407, so that's good.
